Every single week we are blown away by the flavor, creativity, and care she puts into her cooking. Her meals are so good that we honestly no longer want to eat out. The food she prepares for us at home is consistently better than what we would order at restaurants, and that says everything. Each dish feels intentional, nourishing, and beautifully balanced, with just the right touches to make it feel special without ever being heavy. Every meal has been outstanding, and the consistency is what truly sets her apart. Chef Steph has completely changed the way we eat at home, and we feel incredibly lucky to have found her. If you are considering working with her, do it. You will not be disappointed.

I never thought I'd be able to justify the luxury of a private chef service, but I keep this…read moreservice as a lifeline in my back pocket for weeks that we just need a little extra help, like when the demands of parenting and working during a global pandemic seem extra burdensome. So far, we've had three appointments, and they've all been wonderful. For each one in advance, you choose the time/date for your chef, three entree items and three sides. The "sides" is a bit of a misnomer, as you can often make meals of these in themselves. They include salads, hot breakfast casseroles, pies, and more. Recipes range from Mongolian Beef to Shepherd's Pie, homemade granola bars, Thai Chicken salad, etc. I imagine if we did this weekly, the options might get monotonous, but doing it every once in a while works out well for us so that there are usually a few new options that appear the next time we're ready to book an appointment. For each item you'll see an estimate on how much extra it will add to your bill in groceries in addition to the base chef cost. The chef will stop at your local HEB to shop for your ingredients fresh right before your appointment. You pay a $35 deposit, which you can get refunded if you cancel the appointment by the stated deadline (and they send you frequent reminders -- they're not trying to pull one over). On average with tip and the cost of groceries, we usually spend around $225 for our family of four. The meals last us a while. Sometimes we share them with friends who could use an extra meal, or sometimes we freeze the leftovers. There are instructions for reheating, freezing, etc. As stated in other reviews the chefs are generally efficient and very tidy, leaving your kitchen looking spotless, with a huge amount of prepared food for you to enjoy (it's hard not to dive right in). Communication by text is great. During COVID, the chef has worn a mask during the appointment and the service has had very clearly communication about canceling in the event of COVID exposure, etc. I appreciate that they're taking it seriously. If I had a couple of critiques, it would be that whatever process gets communicated to the chef regarding ingredients might need to be streamlined. The past two appointments, our chef has had to make a couple of grocery store trips because he forgot items, and this prolongs the preparation process. I would also love to see a bit more variety to the menu options. It would be nice to have it broken down roughly by type of dish (seafood, beef, casserole, etc.) and price (budget friendly or special splurge). Other than those minor tweaks, we love the service, and I imagine we'll keep using it as occasional customers.

One of my friends is vegetarian and the other is gluten free. I don't eat bell peppers and limit my dairy intake so this place ended up being perfect! So many delicious items and all for just $16! I had the hibiscus tea and it was delicious as well. The person at the register was super helpful and explained everything. They had a menu of the day so everything was made fresh. The menu was hand written! We were able to sit outside under a covered area which was nice when the rain came down a bit. It was a lovely day to sit outside in the evening. I look forward to having another meal here again. As a long time Austinite who maybe ate her a few times 15+ years ago, I'm glad it's still around and serving great, vegan, and healthy food!

I will say the Casa De Luz restaurant itself was a little bit confusing, I didn't know that everyone basically got the same food and that you had to order at the front and then go wait in the line. It was a bit confusing/hard to get assistance from employees with how to order our food. However, once we got our food it was so delicious and I finished my plate. The vibes were absolutely amazing, very peaceful, spatious, beautiful. After we finished our food me and my partner spent about another hour walking around the area and checking out all the little shops. Very very cool and I would totally come back.

It's quite dark inside where we were sat, and thats coming from a 40year old who doesn't require glasses. You could easily dress up or keep it casual and still feel comfortable. Parking is free, which is always a plus, but the lot is pretty small. One thing we appreciated is that all steaks come with full sides! Service was friendly, but slower than expected. It took about 10-15 minutes before we were greeted at the table, and while we had noted the anniversary in the reservation, it wasn't acknowledged or brought up. Not a dealbreaker, but something we were hoping for given the occasion. Even throughout the evening it seemed rather slow. Food-wise: * Dinner Rolls - Cute, small with good flavor, though the exterior was a bit tougher than preferred. * Buffalo Lamb Chops - Fun concept and flavor, but the lamb was gamier and tougher than expected. The dipping sauce, however, was excellent. * Filet Mignon - We were told this was their top quality cut. It was good and a fair price for the size, but didn't wow me. * 16oz Ribeye - Our favorite of the night. Better flavor and texture than the filet. * Seared Zucchini - Loved this. Great taste and sear. * Roasted Broccolini - Super crispy florets -- a win. * Asparagus with Chimichurri - Good snap. * Brownie Pie - Served hot and we added ice cream. Basically a delicious chocolate lava cake and a perfect way to end the meal. Overall, it was good, just not mind-blowing or the best steakhouse experience we've had, especially given the reputation. That said, we'd come back for the ribeye, veggie sides, and dessert.

As a tea aficionado, where else can you find a wall of affordable loose leaf teas of all differing brands and tastes? I've gotten to try so many different types of tea since discovering this since I can chose the amount I want and don't have to buy a pre-packaged specific amount. I've gotten all kinds such as black, oolong, green, and herbals. Deeeef recommend if you're a tea lover like me. They also have the same kind of thing but for coffee. Their cafe is also pretty decent! Recently came here and got their Mediterranean salad. It includes dolmas, pita, and hummus, as well as the salad. And went and got a side of soup and a roll at their self serve soup area to have alongside it. Everything was very yummy! I do wish they had slightly more plant based/veg options, but they do have a small handful so I don't wanna complain too much. Parking is generally easy and getting out ain't difficult either. All in all, this is my closest location, and I like it a lot!

The just-okay ones were the Nopales, and the Al Pastor leaned way too hard on some spice, tastes like allspice to me. It was intense and just felt off balance. Definitely get the Quesotaco over regular. The griddled cheese is a real upgrade over the standard ones. Tortillas are fresh too. The salsa bar is awesome. Tomatillo, a red one that's really spicy, a jalapeno based one, and one with cilantro that's great. Really good stuff. The one thing that drives me nuts is you can't modify anything. Tons of families in there, we came in with our picky kids and just asked for rice and beans. No. Okay, can we just buy tortillas? No. Fine, sell us a taco and put all the meat and toppings on the side so I can hand my kids a plain tortilla? No. Whoever is running that kitchen, the fact that you literally cannot hand me a tortilla is absurd. The place is cramped and you're not coming here for the ambiance, the inside is whatever. On the plus side the line moves fast and the food comes out quick. They are cranking it out. Overall this is a home run. It's a couple little things away from an easy 5 stars.

While we're glad you joined us, I'm sorry to hear your breakfast experience didn't meet expectations. We'll be reviewing your comments with our culinary team to improve consistency. We appreciate you giving us a try and hope to provide a better experience in the future. Warm regards, Wes Brown It's great to receive a response from the business manager regarding our experience at their restaurant, but all four us thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. We had absolutely no complaints regarding our dining experience. Caroline is affiliated with the Marriott Element and Aloft hotels and that, I believe, where the affiliation ends. I try to avoid hotel eateries but I've had great dining experiences at hotels like the JW Marriott in Austin. We, four, stopped by on a Sunday AM for breakfast and we had a great time. They do have brunch cocktails available and their bloody Mary's were deemed excellent with just the right amount of spice. My bloody Maria was on point and we all got our Sunday Funday started. Breakfast was wonderful. Our eggs arrived cooked perfectly. The pepper bacon and real potato sides were off the charts delicious. They also offer a few TexMex breakfast options and Plus one was raving about her Huevos Rancheros plate. Service was excellent even though they became busy our server was very attentive. They offer a full bar and also a coffee place with pastries and other baked goods. They seem to be connected to a hotel. The restrooms were up a few flights of stairs or you can use the elevator to the 2nd floor. I didn't know that. The upstairs portion could be rented out for special occasions or events. Our server was super friendly and helpful. She recommended a couple of her favorite smoothies. I ordered the Sweet Corn Cake Benedict: poached eggs, jalapeño cheddar corn cakes, avocado, tomato & corn salsa (4/5). I liked and enjoyed my breakfast, which was fresh and light. Berry Basil Smoothie: blueberry, strawberry, basil, banana, agave, pomegranate, coconut water, lime juice (4/5). This was very delicious. My coworkers order the Everything Sandwich: everything cream cheese, peppered bacon, baby kale, roasted roma tomatoes (4/5). Flavorful, with a light freshness of all the ingredients. My other coworker ordered a side of Breakfast Potatoes & a Detox Juice: acai, pomegranate, coconut water, lime. Both really liked the breakfast potatoes, which had a crisp exterior crunch yet soft and creamy inside. Come check them out. Support your local business.
