This restaurant is one of the best taco spots in Austin! You order at the counter, and the cashier was super nice. The restaurant has plenty of seating, and there was street parking nearby. The vibes inside were good too and I liked how it wasn't too crowded. I loved the brisket taco! The tortilla had a nice, slightly crispy texture. The meat was extremely flavorful, and I loved it with the cheese. I also liked that there was a little bar with all the sauces. The green sauce was super good and not too spicy.

This place has been on my list forever and I was excited to go on a Saturday morning right at 11am when they opened. There were already a few others there as well, so they get busy quickly! Service is extremely casual - order and pay at the counter for dine-in or to-go. There is ample seating but it's cold metal tables and chairs, truly meant to eat and go. Everything we ordered was fantastic. As a native San Antonian, this is the closest tacos I've found that are similar in quality and flavor. Truly worth a visit! QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, small spots in front and to the side/behind the building. Not a large space so may be hit or miss. - Reservations? No, super casual so walk-ins only. The tacos were fantastic and generously portioned. The torta was also delicious. We also tried the jicama lemonade which was just okay - more sweet than tart. Next time I'll try something else! Can't wait to revisit!

We dined here last night before they closed for business at 6pm. We read good things about them. When we arrived, we parked right by the restaurant. They had about 8 or so tables with chairs inside. I wish they had heating because it was cold inside. I guess they are not used to cold temperatures. We ordered the following tacos: (2) Tinga de Pollo (Chipotle braised chicken), (2) suadero (brisket confit), (2) carnitas (pork confit), and (1) cheese quesadilla. I ate the chicken tacos because I don't eat red meat. My husband and his relative ate the beef and pork tacos. My baby and I ate most of the quesadilla. The food was flavorful. The hibiscus tea was delicious. The bathroom was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. I think we would dine here again the next time we're in town... maybe when the weather warmer.

I thought I was through with the holiday party circuit. Bam! A friend of mine reminded me of two parties I agreed to go with her. So I exhaled and prepared to attend. One of the parties is today. I have been so busy today I forgot to eat - workshop, sorting and packing socks for nursing homes and the gym. So, I needed a little something to tide me over until the party. Therefore, I stopped Paprika ATX. Today was my lucky day! They were serving Al pastor tacos, which are only served on Saturdays. Al Pastor is a pork based taco with elevated seasoning and ingredients. One taco hit the spot! Now off to the holiday party...

Paprika is phenomenal! Absolutely mouthwatering tacos. Located on North Lamar, Paprika serves authentic tacos that will absolutely hit your soul. They serve five flavors on any given day, and have Al Pastor on Saturdays. The service here is very friendly, you are greeted as you enter and leave the establishment. Very cozy and welcoming environment. I ordered a total of six tacos (3x Suadero, 1x Suadero Quesi-Taco, 1x Carnitas, and 1x Campechano Taco). They were all absolutely mouthwatering tacos-watering and delicious. The hot sauce here packs a punch, I was definitely sweating after a few bites! Highly recommend this spot for my fellow taco-enthusiasts!

Once a beloved food truck, Paprika ATX has now moved into its own brick-and-mortar location. The space is fairly small, but we were able to snag a table, and there's also a back room with several additional tables. I loved the salsa bar, which ranges from mild to medium to hot. The staff were super friendly and even gave recommendations on which salsa pairs best with each item. Ordering is simple with counter-style service & you're given a number and they bring the food out once it's ready. Honestly, everything was a 10/10: the meat, tortillas, and salsas were all incredibly fresh and high quality. This is easily one of my favorite spots, hands down. While space and parking are limited, service moves pretty fast. I wouldn't recommend large groups during peak hours.

As always, appreciate the great food and drink guys! The new spot inside is awesome and still has the great jams playing. The vibes are always high here! And the food always smells amazing! One thing I love about here is even though it transitioned from truck to brick and mortar, y'all stay super consistent. And I know whoever tries here for their first time will still get the same great food as I once experienced when I first tried at the truck window. Great job!

3 tacos and a Topo Chico

It's the real deal. I ordered three tacos, suadero (brisket), carnitas (pork confit), and nopalitos (cactus). All three were excellent, but the nopalitos were truly special with spicy, bright flavors that really came through. The person who took my order said it was her favorite too. I turned the suadero into a quesitaco, which means they add a layer of cheese between the double tortillas. Highly recommend doing this if you wan the taco to be extra rich and just more fun to eat. This place used to be a trailer and now has a brick-and-mortar spot on Lamar, but it still feels very true to its roots. It's small, maybe around 10 tables total. You order at the counter, grab a drink (I had a Topo Chico, they also have aguas frescas and Jarritos), and they call your name when your food is ready. There's a salsa bar with red and green sauces, and don't expect to be asked if you want flour or corn tortillas here. Parking can be tricky with maybe five or six spots out front, so you might need to park behind the building or across Lamar in the neighborhood. I went on a Tuesday around 2 pm and there was still a steady line, with tables turning over pretty quickly but rarely sitting empty. That alone tells you something. This place isn't flying under the radar, people know it's good, and they show up. It's easily one of the best places for truly authentic Mexican tacos in Austin.

    Carnitas taco, mushrooms, and chicken

Mushroom tacos are hard to make flavorful, to draw out the moisture and rehydrate it with seasoning. Vegetarian dishes often leave me missing meat for its inherent flavor but Paprika does the mushrooms so well that I am not left with regrets and in fact, am thankful I chose it. The double tortillas are also a large driving factor to the tastiness. It is sturdy enough to carry the salsas & the filling, so everything feels like it's in a perfect golden ratio. Every bite gets you a little bit of everything without anything falling out.

Why 5 stars? Because I don't know why these tacos are so great, but they are. --- --- --- Upon a 24 hour trip to Austin, I did my customary duty of a heavy amount of food research and was overwhelmed with the number of great looking places. I settled on Paprika as my first stop, fresh off a ~3 hour drive. Full disclosure, the first thing I did was walk in and use the facilities, because I am a "power through, no stops" kind of road tripper, and it's important that you know that. Then I headed to the counter and promptly ordered 3 of the quesitacos that consisted of meat: brisket, carnitas and chicken. When my name was called a few minutes later, I grabbed my plate of 3 tacos, and to be honest, they *looked* like extremely run-of-the-mill (or mid, as the kids say) tacos. But all 3 were absolutely excellent. It would be hard to even pick a favorite. How do these tacos taste so much better than most places? What do they do to the meat to make it so tender, juicy and flavorful? I'll never know, but I certainly did enjoy them.

Went one day, had to go back the next. If anyone's hungry for tacos, come here!! At lunch time it gets PACKED. That's how great this place is. Tried pretty much every protein here and every bite is worth savoring. By the time your finished with your plate, the question arises: "Should I order another??" And that's because it's so damn GOOD and I have witnessed people get back up, go to the register to order more!! So if you are in the area, or 25 miles out, it's worth the time to come here. See you there!! Or Here!! And Alexa, you and the staff are awesome =D

This is not a resounding 5 star, but it's a solid 5 star. Hear me out. These are good tacos that could be great. When a restaurant has the guts to showcase a tiny menu and is this good it deserves a proper critique to get to the next level. The tacos are inconsistent. Some parts are the best bite of taco ever, and some are honestly a little dry. The dry parts pop up often enough that you'll probably want salsa. Not because the salsa is good (it's fine) but because you'll want moisture. A taco shouldn't NEED salsa. I also wish they could get orders out faster given their popularity. They're suffering at the point of sales, and an hour wait is probably not worth it. They're also very expensive tacos for what they are. A $4 taco would be rough but fine but $5 is not cool. So to be clear, these are good tacos. Austin needs more like them, but there is room for improvement. I'm happy to return. Go on a weekday I you can, and park on the street behind the building.

This place was already on my list before it hit #3 on the Top 100 list. Had a work trip to Austin and made my way here. Wow, truly amazing tacos. Got the chicken, brisket and pork tacos. All of them were incredible. What made these tacos truly amazing were the way that they were seasoned. These are not your typical taco but it is on another level. Was surprised to find out that they just opened a stand alone location a few weeks back. It was great to be able to eat indoors and escape the bugs and heat. Unfortunately the place was chilly and the music was ridiculously loud. Even in the side section, it was almost impossible to have a conversation. Overall though, these tacos are MUST eat in TX.

Cauntos Tacos was recommended to me by my BF, and we decided to go all in with the "1 of Each Kind"…read moremenu option. Boy, am I glad we did this--it was the perfect way to try a little bit of everything and compare favorites side by side. Sauderos - One of my top choices. Great texture and flavor with a nice richness to it. That said, carnitas and longaniza still edged it out for me. Cachete - Almost felt like a milder cousin to the carnitas. I personally preferred the milkier flavor profile of the carnitas, but this was still delicious and incredibly satisfying. Buche - Softer and mushier than I would typically like in a meat filling, but the flavor itself was undeniably good. Texture held it back a bit for me. Carnitas - A classic milkiness that's genuinely hard to beat. Rich, comforting, and probably one of my favorite carnitas I've had so far. Definitely a standout. Longaniza - I've never really been a chorizo person... until now. This completely changed my mind. Deep red color, intensely meaty flavor, rich without being overwhelming--easily one of my favorites of the bunch. Champiñones - More flavorful and spicier than I expected. The mushrooms had a pleasantly chewy texture instead of turning mushy, which I appreciated a lot. Great mushroom flavor overall. Revuelta - Not actually on the menu, but something we personally requested. Delicious combination of meats, though tasting everything back-to-back made this one come across a bit saltier. Still, the pairing worked really well and made for a satisfying bite. The sauces deserve a mention too. The green sauce packed noticeably more heat and leaned herbaceous, while the red sauce had a beautiful smokiness that completely won both my best friend and me over. Service was honestly one of the fastest and most efficient I've seen from a food truck. Everything moved quickly and smoothly despite the steady flow of people. My only real downside had nothing to do with the food itself--I hated standing outside at 8 PM dealing with bugs while eating, but that's more the nature of the setup than the fault of the truck. Overall, I was genuinely impressed by the meat quality and how distinct each taco felt from the next. Carnitas and longaniza were the clear winners for me, but there honestly wasn't a bad taco in the lineup.

Food: The tacos were incredible--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can taste the quality right away. Everything was seasoned perfectly, and the tortillas tasted fresh and authentic. We tried a few different tacos and honestly didn't have a single miss. Simple menu, but done really, really well. Service: Service was friendly and efficient. Even with a line, things moved quickly and the staff were welcoming and patient. You can tell they know what they're doing and take pride in the food. Ambiance: It has that fun Austin food-truck vibe--casual, lively, and a little busy, but in a good way. It feels like one of those places locals love and keep coming back to. Overall: Easy five stars. Amazing tacos, great service, and a cool atmosphere. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to again and again.

I got them on corn tortillas and I'm glad I did: idk if they make them in house but somebody in some house is making these because they definitely aren't store bought, and if they are I want to know where! I tried the orange habanero and creamy serrano salsas. The habanero was spicy off the bat, while the serrano had more of a lingering burn. Both paired well with the steak.
