We had a quick bag check at the entrance and onto the ticket attendants who were friendly. We sat in Balcony aisle seats in Row KK. I've sat in this area before. My aisle seat was a little obstructed for the stage view by the railing that had a solid design so I had to lean forward most of the time. The other seats next to me on the railing have a design but you can see thru. No one is sitting in front of you but a lot of people will be walking or standing as it's a thoroughfare. Sound system was great & not too loud even in the back but it's probably because this band mainly played ballads. Beautiful venue with colorful up lighting on the ceiling. The theater still has a nostalgic feel to it & very pretty. Bathrooms were clean and I'd say the only thing I think they need an upgrade on are the seats as they're cushiony and sagging a little. Leather upgrades would be better at some point. Cocktails & drinks are pretty pricey. I think a cocktail was about $21/$23. People were singing along and it was a good & enthusiastic crowd. Concert was 1.5 hours long & the main singer had to take a voice-break for about 10 minutes. A violin performer was outside of the venue playing Air Supply hits and people were singing along which was fun. To note, attendants said you could videotape & take photos but without a flash or they'll flag you. Also, the attendants aren't allowed to take your photos so you'll have to ask another attendee. Parking in the Houston Street Parking Garage is a half block down, just a $10 flat rate for the evening and very conveniently located to The Majestic.

The show incorporates songs from artists like Katy Perry and the Backstreet Boys making the performance fun and upbeat with great humor. The Majestic is always well staffed and the staff is very helpful and involved in accommodating the patrons. I've never had a bad seat and concessions and restrooms are easily accessible. Helpful hint, I always take a sweater because they keep it cool in there.

The theater itself is attached to the Woodlawn Theater and shares restroom facilities with the Woodlawn. Running a separate series of smaller shows, the Classic Theater offers a theater-in-the-round experience with the audience seated on all sides of the theater which can allow audience interaction with the professional cast. The seating is comfortable, but you'll need the intermission to get up and stretch your legs as the chairs can get a tad uncomfortable. The theater also allows no outside food or drinks, but does have water and wine for donation (at least this was during the show we attended). Overall, the cast was excellent in Midsummer Night's Dream. They brought a refreshing perspective and performance for Shakespeare's work, which truly showed why Shakespeare should be consumed in theatrical form rather than reading, and the acting was intimate and, yet, bombastic at the same time. The cast really showed skill and thought with each word spoken, and they brought the characters to life while leaving themselves behind. With the theater-in-the-round, they worked the entire room as well as made me feel that the show was put on solely for me. I had had that same sense of disbelief in quite a long time during a theatrical production. The quality of the production also showed. Even though it seemed like a relatively low budget affair, it wasn't lacking the quality of a truly great show. My husband and I are already planning our time back to enjoy another production and we look forward to becoming regular patrons of the arts at the Classic.

The scores and actors were top notch and had so much character, the take on some parts of the story were done so well it surprised me! I knew what to expect of the story but the extra depth and detail they added was lovely!! Even my friend who has never seen it before was amazed, and for what we had paid for it was insane that we got such a quality show!! I would definitely come back here for another show soon!! :D

This theater is located in the Wonderland mall, downstairs by the food court, in the old movie theater space once called The Bijou. Prepaid garage or valet parking options are available as well as a convenient parking lot a short walk away. The show was loud, especially for an acoustic performance, but the sound quality was great. Overall, there is a variety of price points, so you can splurge on club seating with table service, or choose the balcony to save the piggy bank. We sat in the mezzanine section however next time I would prefer to sit closer to the stage. While some of the ticket prices were on the high side, you can sign up for the newsletter to receive discounts on upcoming shows. The price of drinks was outrageous but sadly typical for a concert. I did not order food or beverages but be sure you view the menu / price list ahead of your visit. There was no meet & greet or photo opportunity offered for this event but I hope that is an option at future events. Definitely consider the Tobin when your favorite band is in town!

We didn't park at their parking, which was $15 in advance, $20 day of at their garage, $28 or so for valet. We went to a day showing of the ballet so we actually found street parking close by. The woman at the front was very friendly and said we looked trustworthy or something along those lines. The reason why this is a pet peeve is that I have run into issues with this before. It was not at this theatre but another. Someone else was already in the seats that I paid for. I decided not to make a big deal of it and sat somewhere else. At the end of the show, I could hear someone taking about how good the show was and how they couldn't believe it was free. This did not happen at this theatre but it could if they continue with not checking tickets. I recommend this place for good plays and good drinks.

They truly made the experience memorable, and I would highly recommend seeing them. Unfortunately, the venue was experiencing air conditioning issues during a Texas summer. Handing out small paper fans wasn't enough to keep the audience comfortable in the heat. Because I was trying to stay hydrated, I ended up missing a large portion of the concert with multiple restroom breaks. It's disappointing that attendees weren't notified of the air conditioning issue beforehand or given the opportunity to reschedule. Knowing the conditions in advance would have allowed guests to make an informed decision. I would absolutely recommend the Candlelight Concert series because the musicians are exceptional. However, I would encourage attending at a different venue where the audience can comfortably enjoy the performance from beginning to end.

It was easy access checking in and our seats were located in the very last row mid section. We didn't know what to expect, but the seats were excellent! Great views. The performance was stellar! Cheeky humor, singing, and tap dancing which is not often seen these days anymore. Show was 2 1/2 hour with a 15 minute intermission. Restrooms were available and a bar. Pre show, the stage was set for public bar access, and then later the set up was incorporated into the stage when the show started. Cute idea! I would totally come back! I think you should check them out at least once before making up your mind. I've been to the Overtime Theater multiple times because a friend of mine used to perform there. I decided after a few times that I am not a huge fan of improv comedy shows. I went to the murder mystery show and it was just okay. I laughed a little bit,but it didn't change my mind on improv comedy as a whole. I'm not planning on going back anytime soon for that reason. Please make up your own mind and give them a chance. You will also be supporting a local business.

The acting is always spot on and the plays, which are written by local playwrights, run the gamut from comedy to drama. I love that the admission prices are low and they even have a performance where you can pay whatever you can afford. There is no excuse for not checking them out. My only issue is that I wish they would have more matinees. They generally only have one for each show and I can't always make that date. Wonderful talented group of people! Love them!
