We were told our child's tonsils were enlarged and that she absolutely needed an expander attached to the bones of her palate, which we understood could be painful. Concerned, we had her examined at Children's Hospital immediately afterward and were told her tonsils were completely fine. We also felt that more time was spent discussing the cost and payment plan than explaining the diagnosis, treatment options, risks, or alternatives. Our concerns didn't feel heard, and the procedure was presented as our only option. We spent $750 on the exam and left with more questions than answers. This was especially surprising because we were referred by our child's dentist, who has always been wonderful and genuinely attentive.

He just got sealants placed on the back of his teeth and once again he had a GREAT EXPERIENCE with the doctor and their assistant. So obviously I will give them Five stars for their stellar work and customer service! I'll keep coming back, but I'm worried about how much longer this location will last. I'm concerned about the staff turnover, which seems to have happened at this location. Faces I grew accustomed to are gone, and it makes me worry. The cozy office vibe is also gone, replaced by what feels like a corporate takeover with questionable decorating taste. They've installed cheap wooden panels with black lines on the walls of the patient rooms and amateurish paint job in the waiting area ‍. Ugh what is up with that!?! The reception counter's been torn down, and the receptionist is now hidden behind a computer screen at the back of the office. The sitting room's been reduced to two chairs, supposedly to keep wait times down, but it feels impersonal. The next day I got a voicemail about them needing to get a quote from the secondary insurance and that taking 7-10 business days. His son, Dr. Andrew Kurtz, came into the practice a few years prior, and I have since transitioned to his care. He has seamlessly taken over the practice and continued the friendly, knowledgeable and steady work his father modeled. I appreciate that both doctors Kurtz err on the conservative side of recommending treatment, unlike my parents' old dentist that would try to upsell everything and drill everywhere. This office takes Delta Dental PPO (thank you!!) and Linda the office manager is so easy to work with and also a lovely person.
