Instead of obtaining those records, this office performed extensive additional X-rays that ultimately were not covered by insurance, leaving us responsible for paying out of pocket for imaging that was unnecessary. What made the situation even worse was the way it was handled. The office manager was incredibly rude and refused to acknowledge that my daughter had been referred when I asked why they didn't obtain the X-rays from the referring office, despite the fact that I had phone calls directly from their office confirming the referral. Rather than working with us to resolve the issue, the account was immediately sent to collections. After years of being loyal patients, I expected much better communication, professionalism, and customer service. Unfortunately, this experience completely changed my opinion of this office, and we will not be returning.

For the first time in 4 years, I had a dentist appointment with a new dentist. Naturally I experienced high anxiety prior to my appointment //because of what I was told back in 2019. I was worried since it had been a long time, things would be very, very bad. I had x-rays done (Yesterday 1/28/2023) and was seen by a new dentist and had a cleaning. What was my diagnosis? one small tiny chip in a filling , but that was it. When I mentioned what I was told at St. Helens Dental Care, the new dentist just stared at me like that was the craziest thing he ever heard. I had an anxiety attack before the dentist, because what I was told by St. Helens Dental. I shudder to think that I would have had several expensive yet needless procedures done. I am a wife to a disabled Veteran and I feel we were taken advantage of. I would say shop around for others. I had a bit of work done there before Covid. I am wondering if I had work done that I did not need in the beginning. My husband is going to need one cavity filled at this new place it's only 125 without insurance and 75 with our insurance....I would never go back to this dentist office. I would not refer any family or friends here.

They have dropped some coverage with certain insurance companies, but luckily ours wasn't one of them. They have also had a lot of dental hygienist turnover the last couple of years, but they seem to have a full staff again currently. That's been tough for us because we had been spoiled with having the same hygienist for years and got to know them, which added extra comfort to an otherwise stressful experience. I've never enjoyed going to the dentist, but seeing a familiar face had helped ease my anxiety. We love the relaxing spa vibes in this office. It feels clean and comfortable, but not overly clinical like some dentist offices. They offer beverages in the waiting room, which also has a couch and fireplace, making for a cozy environment. We also appreciate that they can make a crown while you wait and watch a Netflix movie. It's nice not have to wait a week for a third party to make the crown and leave the dentist office with a temporary. The in-house crowns we're not something we've experienced before, so that's a huge plus! Overall this is an exceptional dentist office. They have a nice relaxing environment and have the capabilities of performing most dental services in-house. We would highly recommend.

I was advised to have a deep cleaning, which they claimed was clinically necessary after thoroughly reviewing my chart from my previous dentist as well as my new patient exam. They also told me they had contacted my insurance company and that my out-of-pocket cost to be around $350. After the dentist spent a significant amount of time explaining the importance of this procedure, I agreed to move forward. However, they did not obtain a clear estimate from my insurance, and I was later billed an additional $270 due to the timing of the procedure. Had they waited a few more weeks before completing the procedure it would have been covered by my insurance. When I called to express my concerns about the misleading cost estimate, they apologized but insisted that I was responsible for the full amount. I would not recommend this practice to anyone who values clear and upfront billing transparency.

The secretary greeted me with a smile and got me checked in. The dental hygienist (sorry didn't catch name as I was nervous) was so nice, she took good care of me. She was gentle, took her time and handled my anxiousness without getting upset or rude. She was confident, thorough and I could tell without a doubt she knew what she was doing. Then the dentist (Andrey Vorobets) came in and he was also kind, and didn't make me feel ashamed, embarrassed, or uncomfortable regarding my lack of dental care. I do brush my teeth daily and take care of my teeth to the best of my ability, but haven't been to the dentist besides emergency services in over 8 years. He went over my X-rays and explained everything clearly. He was not rushing, pushy or trying to make me do anything I didn't feel comfortable with. In fact he let me know I was in charge of my dental care and moving at my own pace. When the dentist finished up the insurance administrator came in to go over my care plan and billing. She was also nice and explained things well. My insurance is in-network so the prices were affordable and I was able to move forward and get started on deep cleaning right away. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and on top of their game from my first call to my initial new patient consultation visit and my following appointment for my bi-annual cleaning with the hygienist. Terri, at the front desk was wonderful in coordinating getting my dental records from my previous dentist. Dr. Markos was very easy to talk to and put me at ease. And the hygienist, Lisa, did a thorough job with the cleaning and gave me tips on tooth care that no other hygienist had ever told me before...and I'm so appreciative for that!
