Rude and painful experience. Hygienist said cleanings are good if they hurt and you treated your assistant like a serf. Not surprised you are permanently closed. I am not referring to the lovely woman dentist and the only competent hygienist. This place was the reason for my son's dental anxiety. You questioned the condition of his oral health, and had the audacity to schedule a 1 on 1 with me. Goodness for you that you canceled it. Wherever you are you need schooling on compassionate care. You need to be mindful because you don't know anyone's history beyond teeth. We are domestic abuse survivors and couldn't gain access to regular care. You may be used to picture perfect cookie cutter dentition, but there are no textbook model patients in the real world. read more

Avoid!!! This office is a scam office. They will do multiple exams and tell you how many cavities you have and then when you go in to get them done, the dentist will magically find another one that you should do right now! While you're there, because of course it's easier to get it handled right now. They pressure you into saying yes while pressuring you with hard sales tactics, literally while they have a needle in your mouth to numb you. Read the rest of the reviews. Absolute worst customer service. I have never been to this clinic, my wife and children have, but not in well over 12 months. I (personally) received a bill from them for about $20. When I ask for an explanation, they hung up the phone. I called back to find out what the bill was for (again, I have never been to this place) and they tell me it was for services for my wife, and hung up. I have emailed their office repeatedly, and get no response of any kind. They still can't/won't tell me why they are billing me the $20, and I fully expect them to send this to collections on me since they won't talk to me (you know, cause I'm not a patient). read more

I went to Smiles Dental to get my teeth cleaned and they were by far the worst dentist I've ever had. The receptionist was nice but I waited awhile before being seen. I was taken back and sat in a dental chair and waited some more. The dental assistant began cleaning my teeth and she had water EVERYWHERE! My entire face, neck and back were soaked by the time I left. She was wiping off my face roughly and took almost all of the little bit of makeup I was wearing off. She was extremely rough, my teeth hurt for two weeks after and continued to bleed for days after the visit. I know I don't floss every single day like I'm supposed to but my teeth are beautiful and clean. After she was done cleaning I waiting a good chunk of time before the dentist actually came to see me. He checked my teeth (did not even pay attention to the horrible job she did. He then proceeded to try to talk me into getting my molars removed. It seemed like he cared more about my money than my teeth. It took over two hours just to get my teeth cleaned. I don't know about anyone else but I work for a living so two hours out of the middle of my day really put a damper on things. Months after my visit I received a bill for $229. I have great insurance and made sure they were in network before my visit. When I called to ask about the bill I was put on hold, after 10minutes I decided to hang up. It's just absurd to be that I would get billed when I have insurance that covers my cleanings and MONTHS after the service. THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST DENTIST I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! read more

Excellent customer service, especially when my tooth was hurting. The staff is friendly and professional, and Dr. King is great at helping you understand what is going on in your mouth and how to fix it. I needed two root canals and a crown, all of which was handled very well and provided much needed relief. Three words: Convenience, Compassion and Community! I need appointments on short notice and they have always been able to find an appointment that I can use. I am THE BIGGEST BABY when it comes to dental work, afraid of pain an very anxious about being there due to horrible experiences with other dentists where pain was just part of my experience in getting dental work done. I have been given several options to ease my anxiety and pain. As of today, I have made an additional appointment to get more dental work done so I can keep my tooth! Best Dental Clinic Ever!!!!!!!! I have been going to Smiles (and the previous practice) for almost 5 years. I have had services ranging from emergency to routine care and have had extractions, filings, crowns and implant prep. I am completely satisfied with the service that i have received. Dr Young and Dr Jardine are caring, patient and skilled professionals who take the time to completely explain the risks and benefits of each procedure. They are both dedicated to pain free dentistry. The techs and support staff are truly concerned with making sure that you are comfortable and at ease. The front office staff is outstanding and are always friendly and helpful. Laura personally took the time to work with my insurance company to resolve claim issues and ensured that i received all the benefits possible. She explained in depth all insurance and out of pocket costs in clear and easy to understand language. My daughter has high anxiety and is just beyond scared of dentist, they were wonderful with her. They have YouTube kid videos with headphones she enjoyed watching it, as well as using an extra mirror so she could watch the doctor brush her teeth. Being hands on and speaking calmly and just doing what they could to keep my daughter calm. We are bringing our whole family back. I could not be more pleased with the service I received from Dr. Young and the staff of this Smiles Dental location! After trying to get into another "dentist" for over a week I stopped by the office and was immediately and cheerfully helped. An appointment to look at my very sore tooth was booked for two days away and I was told I would be called if a spot opened up before that. True to their word I received a call the very next morning offering to fit me in. Unfortunately I could not make that happen and opted to stick with my scheduled appointment. I arrived and was taken to an exam room moments later. After consultation X-rays were taken and Dr. Young came in to discuss my options. I found him to be genuinely caring and he did a great job helping me chose my procedure. Having a bad tooth removed. He was careful to make sure I was experiencing as little discomfort as possible and promptly yanked the wisdom tooth giving me problems. In less than one hour I was walking out the door! Awful, awful, awful. If I could, I would choose no stars. I had a wisdom tooth that got infected and needed to be pulled immediately. To make things worse, my dental insurance had just termed. My husband called around to try to find somewhere that could get me in the same day because the pain was so bad that also had good non-insured rates. They were able to get me in that afternoon and told him they would be able to extract it the same day unless it was too badly infected, then they would give me something for the pain and schedule an extraction a few days after that. They said it would cost $352 for everything, and I could use local anesthesia. Upon arrival, I was checked in, but the receptionist didn't even ask for my license or my birth date. Working as a medical receptionist, this is always one of the first things you do. But anyways, as I was filling out the paperwork, another lady came in and started to get upset about how unprofessional they are with their billing. I should've listened to my gut feeling then. I was taken back promptly by the dental assistant, however, upon sitting in the chair she said "so you have a broken tooth?" I was a little put off. Wouldn't she have looked at my intake before taking me back? I explained what was wrong and she quickly glanced in my mouth and took an x-ray which was very painful since my tooth was infected and my gums were swollen into my cheek. She then says "I'm sorry, that probably hurt" as I had tears in my eyes from the pain "Hopefully that was good enough so I don't have to do that again". Seriously? When she came back she brought the image up on the screen. It was awful! It showed my first two molars and half of the wisdom tooth! Then she said the doctor would be in soon...a half hour later, the doctor walked in. He mumbles something about a problem tooth, and again, I have to explain that it's my wisdom tooth, (the x-ray is right in front of him as he saying this too by the way). He then replies with, "Oh we'll need to take all four out". What? Two seconds ago you didn't even know what the problem was, now you're saying I need all four out? Then he asks, "have any of the others come in yet?" Which, yes, my top two are in fine and have given me no trouble. I explained I was paying out of pocket and want to take care of the one that is causing my intense pain and then worry about the rest when I can get back on dental insurance. He then rambles on about how I need all four out and says he needs to put me out under general anesthesia. I told him I wanted local anesthesia for cost reasons. He then responded by saying he needed to leave AGAIN to go take care of someone else's dental impressions. After another 15 minutes of waiting, he returned. I asked him how much it would cost, to which he responded by throwing the dental assistant under the bus because she had not brought the pricing in. So rude. He then gives me this salesmen speech about how he is a wisdom tooth removal specialist or something and removes 5 times more than the average dentist, and using his "expertise" , people can't get wisdom teeth removed with local anesthesia because it's too close to the vein which he apparently could see in the world's crappiest x-ray that had been taken 45 minutes prior. After stating several times I didn't want to do the general anesthesia he finally released me and brought me back to the front so they could go over pricing with me. He wrote me a prescription for an antibiotic, to which I explained that in my initial conversation, I would be prescribed pain medication. He then replied "You can mix ibuprofen and Tylenol for better relief". I said I needed something stronger. He begrudgingly went back to write the prescription and disappeared. Then, one of the office staff went over pricing with me-which was much more than I had been originally quoted. She then says they offer Care Credit, and asks me if I know what that is. If they had done their intake right, they would've known I probably know what that was since I work in the medical reception field too. After going over this, she cattily remarks, "You can have a co-singer on that Care Credit too if you need it." EXCUSE ME! I can actually pay for the full amount, but if I don't have to, I'm not going to. I paid for the visit and then she tried to get me to schedule. I said I would have to think about my options. She then says, "Okay, but just so you know, he's booked out until July 2nd" ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I'm not sitting in excruciating pain until July 2nd. After paging him twice. The doctor finally released the pain prescriptions and I dashed out of there in tears. I could not believe that had just happened. Luckily, I got an appointment at Northwest Oral and Facial Surgery the next morning and promptly had the tooth removed with LOCAL anesthesia in under 15 minutes. Did I mention they never sent over my x-ray, causing me to be charged at my next appointment for additional x-rays? read more

This maybe not be appropriate to post and I may have done it before, but here goes! Whatever you do don't go to a dentist named Sanjeev Sharma! I spent thousands of dollars and hours of pain, discomfort and time to get beautiful white crowns on my upper teeth. In approximately 1 1/2 years or less teeth started breaking and if they weren't just breaking they were/are falling out. Out of my four front teeth a third broke off and fell out this morning. I am devastated! He has closed his office here in Camas and Dental mediators refuse to take my case because there have been so many cases against him and he doesn't comply! So today again I am missing a front tooth! Kudo's to Dr. Chan for squeezing me in this afternoon to try and get something started to replace it. Dr. Sharma is dishonest and does less than adequate work. To repair all his screw ups will cost more than a new Beemer. I don't have the time or money to sue him, money is all going towards fixing his mess! read more

I recently switched to Smiles - Camas after leaving my long-time dentist of 15 years due to constant scheduling limitations/issues. Although I was hesitant at first, switching to Dr. Young was the best decision I could have made for my health. I get very anxious at dental visits and Dr. Young has consistently gone above and beyond to make me feel at ease (offers nitrous oxide, iPods, ear plugs, blankets, etc.) Dr. Young did my new patient exam/x-rays several months ago and found a problem with an existing crown that was 10+ years old. He does a great job explaining treatment needed and associated risks. My crown needed to be replaced and Dr. Young ensured me that the appointment would be quick and easy and he was right! Although this type of restoration requires two appointments, I would say that I spent less than 90 minutes combined to fix my crown. I returned to the office today for a small filling and the appointment went better than expected. Dr. Young gives great injections and made sure I was not in any discomfort throughout the visit. Dr. Young works great with his dental assistants and is very patient. I have worked in healthcare my entire career and I would say that Dr. Young and his team of assistants, hygienists, and administrative staff exceed my expectations. Everyone at this office greets me with a smile and goes out of their way to make a nervous patient more comfortable. My work schedule frequently changes and scheduling with this office is simple, which was a big barrier for my last dentist and I.
