    Espresso Martini (mocktail)
    Tiffany M.

Very cutesy place! I passed by and it looked pretty busy so I stopped in to check it out. Loved the free parking, but it's in a busy strip center area so you may have to park further back unless valet is your choice. Large patio and indoor space, good for groups. I walked in and let the hostess know that this was my first time and I just wanted hookah and a drink. Now it was at that moment she could have told me they didn't serve alcohol lol. She offered seating inside or out, and I chose inside. It was a hard choice, outside was a vibe! There were a lot of people on laptops, working, studying, etc., but I went on an off day so I chilled out this time. There were also people playing dominoes and cards, someone had their kid hanging out, someone was celebrating a birthday so they got a piece of cake with a sparkler and a small celebration by the staff. There was a lot going on during this lunch hour! I had a melon hookah and it lasted well over an hour without relighting. It was smooth and worth it. I tried an espresso martini (mocktail) and it was good and so pretty. My order was ready within about 5 mins or so with the hookah and drink. I didn't order food on this trip. Although you're able to smoke hookah inside, there was no issues for me with ventilation. The bathrooms are huge! There is a sink in each stall, privacy is appreciated. Here are my cons, but not a deal-breaker. First of all, no alcohol! Now I'm not a huge drinker but on this particular day I was looking for a kickback and wind down and didn't get that fully with a mocktail. You scan a QR code for their menu, which is pretty standard nowadays. I didn't see the hookah flavors available, so I stuck with what I normally get at other places. The waitress took FOREVER!! I made my initial order with the hookah and drinks and never saw her again to order food to try. Someone different brought my hookah and someone else brought the drink. I should've ordered all at one time but was still browsing the menu. When it was time for me to leave, I got up and went looking for someone to check me out. I had been there for almost an hour and a half which was a little longer than I originally planned to stay, because I was basically bar hopping solo on an off day. I was never told that gratuity was included. They use the standard electronic pad, so no printout was given when I checked out. I hate those things! I'm sure if you ask for a printout they can provide it though. Food - N/A but the hookah is 5 stars Service - Ambiance -

Lava was a great experience! I found Lava via Instagram and was impressed by their marketing . I was mostly impressed by their multi layer patio. I decided to give them a try one evening and was briefly disappointed because the 2nd level patio was not available. Needless to say, the rest of the evening made up for it. The host was amazing. The food was delicious but my favorite item was the garlic potatoes!!!!!!! I think I've figured out my order for my next visit!!! I forgot to mention the main thing- THE HOOKAH!!! Oh yes! It was on point. I'm anticipating my return!

We ordered a couple pastas plus an appetizer and a dessert. The food was decent but not outstanding. I think the vibe didn't match us. I think it's more of a party and younger crowd than what we are used to. To be fair, it was not for us but anyone else might enjoy the ambiance better.

First trying this place and did not disappoint! The place itself looks aesthetically pleasing and posh. It does not even give the vibe of a dine in restaurant but a fancy hotel/lounge. They have smoke free dining room and areas that one can enjoy hookah and such as well. The food is middle eastern cuisine and delicious at that. Their mango salad and garlic potatoes were a huge hit with our family! The meats were cooked to perfection. Tender and juicy burring with flavors! Service was excellent and fast. Definitely recommend checking this spot out!

Something new and different for this mexican right here. This used to be Sherlocks pub back in the day buts got a nice renovation and its allot bigger now. We received friendly service, and we were seated right away since we chose indoors. The huge outdoor patio seating is the place to be on a cool fall weather night. awesome fruity drinks ( non alcoholic drinks) We tried a little of everything so the food didn't fit on our 2-person table. The server brought us some chairs lol cause it was packed on a Friday night. For dessert we had the lava cake, and it was amazing. This is a Middle Eastern restaurant, and so are its patrons and staff. Hookah and regular smoking is permitted indoors and outdoors. Did I mention there's no alcohol served? Valet parking is $10 and its the thing to do, trust me.

Ive passed this place a couple times now and it always looks packed at night, so me and my group decided to come here to just chill. I came here a couple years ago when it was a churrasco so it was nice to see how they renovated and decorated the space; super nice. Such a great place for big groups. We got a shawarma and thought it tasted delicious. Service was great; super friendly and attentive. Definitely could see myself coming back here in the future!

Chicken Shawarma with mango salad and rice

I visited yesterday after their reopening and it seems like the quality of the food has gone down compared to when I visited prior. This time I ordered the chicken twaouk and it just seemed like the chicken wasn't seasoned well. The mango salad was just lettuce and mangoes , not sure if they changed the ingredients compared to the picture I posted prior. My friend who came with me, also commented and noticed the downgrade on quality. Also, the timeframe (6:30 which was pretty empty outside) that we came there were just several servers standing around chitchatting, but it was hard to flag anyone down to get service when things were needed. I hope they improve but currently it is not a place I would recommend.

Come here for the **vibez**. It's a cute place, very aesthetic and insta worthy. The skylight made it feel like an airport, large and airy. We stopped in for a quick lunch during a work day, which I actually prefer because it wasn't busy. I don't do hookah and actually am kind of bothered by it, so thankfully we were able to sit a little further away from it. It's not like la pasha or other places where you have to sit outside to be far from the smoke. Although I will say it was a plus that they had a little playground outside for the kids. I don't know why they didn't put the turf on the whole area and only did a little patch, but we used it for a bit before leaving and it was fun enough nevertheless. The chairs and outside area is really nice. The food was good, but not going to lie- there's better in the area. I wouldn't get a shawarma again, but I would get the grilled plate again- it's hard to mess up unless you over cook the meat. They had apple 3 horses which I was happy about because it's my favorite, and tasted the virgin Pina colada and it was really good. The service was really good and made up for the small portions of food. Overall would come again! Parking was free during the day.

Best food I've had in a while, staff was so friendly and they have gorgeous outdoor seating with a play area for the kids. Highly highly recommend bringing people from out of town here!

I went with my friends for the first time today and it was superb! The food was great we went for the Ramadan buffet and there were couple of options from appetizers, to entrees, dessert, and drinks. The ambiance was excellent great vibes and the decor was so relevant with the Ramadan theme. There are different options to sit we chose the patio and it was wonderful! The service was amazing too overall 10/10 experience and I'm definitely going again with my husband. There's valet parking so there's no trouble parking too!

The vibe was chill and laid back. We are in our late 40s and it was younger crowd but we didn't feel completely out of place. I like the live music. If you're an old head, then the DJ music may not be your speed, but the live music was good. there was a young lady singing with a guitar accompanying her. i'ma pretty hard grader but I would go back.. the wings were $12 for the special six wings and fries . it was pretty reasonably priced in my opinion. They did get service right shout out to the server who served us their name was El. Because of the service and the lady who was singing (she started around 9) I give the place 7 out of 10. Decent pricing for drinks and Decent hookah for the city at $25. The bartender informed us that the bar wasn't fully stocked but asked us what types of drinks we like. Based on my preference, he suggested a Martinez. I had never even heard of a Martinez but I was open to trying it. He made it, looked at it, and said it didn't come out right. He asked if it would be okay for him to redo it which I of course obliged. I appreciated the fact that he didn't serve me a drink that wasn't properly made. The wait was worth it. The Martinez tasted like a sweeter Negroni and I really enjoyed it! I'm glad I was able to visit one of the oldest bars in Houston. It was super low key and chill which was a perfect way to end our evening.

Atmosphere is casual, service…read moreis friendly, the vibe is definitely Viking (and from what I have heard, it's really popping during brunch!). We came on. Friday after work during happy hour and the prices could not be beat, especially with their lobster bites (was sitting at about $30, and we got them half off!) Drinks were fantastic! I selected the "Golden Cadillac" that comes with a miniature bottle of Grand Marnier inside of it. Very good. My company decided on an array of appetizers for his "main course", while I went with their Fried Salmon (served with Mac and cheese, and collard greens). Omg! So tasty! The pepper was prevalent throughout, but it did not over power the flavor! I make collard greens at home (and learned from one of the best), and even I found theirs to be pretty good! My company selected fried ribs, along with the lobster bites, and crawfish queso dip, and their wings! I tasted what he got, and we both agreed that the wings were "off the chart" delicious with a beautiful straight off the grill smoky flavor! So good that he got another order to go! Lol. What made our experience there amazing was our server Ray (Rajean = think "the 90's TV Show "Living Single"..."smooches"!)...she was the best!! From her hello, to walking us through the menu (as first-timers), her recommendations, her energy, her smile, and her being very relatable. Loved her! My only gripe was the bathrooms, the ladies room needed attention (and could use a spruce all around). It doesn't help that it is a bit small, but yeah, they need to focus some efforts on ensuring it's upkeep. As for seating and parking, there is a bar area and limited seating toward the front of the restaurant, but it does extend to back of the house with additional seating. There is also patio seating as well. Because this place seems popular, it is best to reserve ahead to ensure your seating. Parking is very limited! They do however, offer valet (but at $20+). There is off-street parking, but be careful since this is a residential area and nothing is secure. All in all, I really had a great time and left with my belly full! Definitely worth checking out! What was lost is now found! Enjoy!

I'm just not ok with a dj who is being paid by the owner, telling folks or allowing the MC to tell folks in order to request a song, you gotta pay. If I chose to tip him, so be it, but being forced ain't cool. My biggest complaint was the price of everything. Now I'm a country chick and realize that prices are more expensive in the city. I was approached by the manager and I told her I needed a set up. She asked me what chasers I wanted and I said water and coke. I was charged separately for the water and coke that was supposed to be included in my set up.... so all together for a set up and a hookah, I paid over $60. I've never paid, IN HOUSTON, more than $10 for a set up and $35 for a hookah. Then they have small 4 oz paper cups to get the ice out with. After all this she attempted to charge me a bottle fee for each bottle I brought in. I sincerely think the young lady wasn't sure about what she was doing. Again she maintained her professionalism but she looked overwhelmed. Let's move on to those hookahs, the flavor lasted maybe 10-15 minutes and then the other lady who was helping refresh the coals was firmly pressing them down on the foil. I called her to the side and advised her that she was going to burn the shisha like that and sure enough my next puff was nothing but burnt shisha. They did replace it for free so I can't say much about that but overall....... The employees need training, I think they were overwhelmed and I think y'all were understaffed to serve the amount of people that accompanied this party...
