Nice place Well organized…read more I had smooth experience Also got a coupon so was cheaper than should have been Otherwise certain type of stuff was over priced

I was with my mom during her visit to this Tide Cleaners location, and I was shocked by how she was…read moretreated by the manager, Mercedes. My mom brought in a beige jacket that came back almost grayish-white after being dry cleaned. The jacket is part of a matching beige set, so the color change was immediately obvious. Even the decorative button changed from a bright yellow-gold color to a dark brown, copper-like color. During our first visit, Mercedes admitted it appeared to be the store's mistake, explained that the jacket had likely been mixed with white garments during the cleaning process, apologized, and told my mom that if she brought the purchase receipt, they would reimburse her for the full value of the jacket. When we returned with the receipt showing the jacket was worth around $400, everything changed. Suddenly, the story was completely different. Mercedes claimed the jacket had been white all along and only offered $90. What upset me the most was how Mercedes treated my mom. My mom speaks and understands English very well. English is simply not her first language, so I came with her for support. Instead of speaking directly to my mom, Mercedes spoke almost exclusively to me, barely looked at my mom, and repeatedly implied that my mom didn't understand what was being said because of her accent. It was incredibly disrespectful and humiliating to watch. Mercedes even wanted to review the security cameras because she claimed she didn't believe the jacket had been beige. We actually encouraged her to do so because the footage from our first visit would also show Mercedes admitting that the jacket had likely been mixed with white garments during the cleaning process and promising to reimburse my mom for the full value of the jacket. Businesses can make mistakes. What matters is how they handle them. Unfortunately, Mercedes completely changed her story after seeing the value of the jacket and treated my mother with a complete lack of respect throughout the process. I hope Tide Cleaners corporate investigates both the damage to my mom's jacket and the way customers are treated at this location. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this store.

This laundromat is wonderful! Very clean and the associates are very kind. I recommend!read more

I was lured by the pictures and reviews. But I am a laundromat veteran of late. You walk in…read morethrough the automatic doors and immediately you are hit with a commode smell. I don't know if the doors are next to a bathroom or if the rugs have been soaked with the scent of Chicago's Montrose park public bathrooms, but it smells. The plusses are the ample parking. You're not going to have any issues finding a nice roomy spot, the lot is yuge. Another plus are the machines and dryers are on the new-ish side. Not too much dryer gunk (chewing gum-like material stuck to the dryer drum). There are a lot of machines, so even if crowded, things can move fast. The reason for the 2 stars are thus: the place is not clean. The floors always have trash. It's not a tidy place. This might be due to the staff who do their best to pretend not to ignore you. They're too busy doing the drop off service that they don't sweep up or help customers. The other bad thing is the DIABOLICAL LAUNDRY CARD. This is a card that you load up with money to use the machines. You have to permanently lose time off your life, TIME that you will never get back, trying to get the card to read on the machine readers. It is extremely oppressive and is designed to make you question the meaning of your life. This laundromat is the equivalent of the egg salad at a gas station. You're hungry and you think you'll be ok. The only reason why I've been here 3 times is because the card has a balance. I refuse to leave a cent to this place, even if the scent it gives me is unpleasant.

Ownership changed hands a few years ago. I WFH, so I don't need to launder as often. Pricing seems…read morerandom, they immediately recommend "Dry cleaning" and if the tag says xl+, they say "Big-size" and add $$. The racks used to be full, with customers clothes waiting for pick-up, this maybe due to people WFH like me. But, I think its due to the service. I used to loved this place, now looking for a new one.

Things change. After years of extraordinary personal service and quality attention to detail, this…read moreexceptional business is in new hands and has lost many of the traits that made it great - and it has lost this customer. Longtime customers will agree that Sue was rare and wonderful - and she earned her well-deserved retirement. Over the past few months, I've tried to overlook how my years of loyalty were suddenly unfamiliar, that I had to provide my name/number, that my preferences needed to be restated, that longstanding operating methods had changed. I overlooked the change in service - but appreciated that I could now use a credit card. But then the cleaning chemicals changed; my clothes suddenly had a foul odor. The care in handling of my garments declined, and it was clear that steps were removed from the former Norgetown way. I wasn't ready to let them tailor my clothes as Sue had until they earned my trust again, alas they won't get that chance. Today, after unpacking my recent cleaning, I discovered that my favorite pair of pants that Sue had cleaned for quite some time had suddenly shrunk in length (and nope, I'm not taller or heavier!); they look absurd now - and they simply can't be replaced. Clearly Sue had used a different method, and now my signature pants are no more. They were expensive, but now I know they were priceless. I'm heartbroken and angry. I had also recently requested an attempt be made to remove a spot on my blazer - they marked it, but missed it; I was ultimately able to remove it myself, so that left me disappointed in their service and attention to detail. Other pants were suddenly filled with static in a way that they never were after cleaning previously, and now they all cling to my leg in an unsightly way. Ugh! And my clothes still reek of this new chemical. Disgusting. With kindness I wish this new staff the best of luck as they find their way and build trust with new customers, but I'm never going back. Two stars - but only for the faded memories of the former seven star service.
