Because of this, I wanted to give them only 3 stars, but in all fairness, the dry cleaning has been good and the tailoring decent.

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for your dry cleaning. I had never been to this dry cleaning location before and decided to give it a try... big mistake. I dropped off some clothing, including an expensive shirt I bought recently that was getting dry cleaned for the first time. When I picked my items up I noticed that the graphic on the shirt looked like it had been scraped off in multiple areas. I showed it to the employee there and she literally told me, "Return it back to where you bought it from. The manufacturer has incorrect cleaning instructions on the washtag and it's not our fault". As if Versace made a mistake! As if any store is going to let you return a damaged shirt! They promised me that they would get it fixed and to come back next week. I came back and guess what? The shirt is in EVEN WORSE condition (I attached a pic). The employees continued to try and blame the clothing brand instead of taking responsibility. Not only that, but they refused to offer me any type of compensation. I had to argue with the employee just to get a refund for this even though they ruined it!!!! Take my advice and the advice of the other guy who had their clothing messed up by this place... don't come here.

Not too much dryer gunk (chewing gum-like material stuck to the dryer drum). There are a lot of machines, so even if crowded, things can move fast. The reason for the 2 stars are thus: the place is not clean. The floors always have trash. It's not a tidy place. This might be due to the staff who do their best to pretend not to ignore you. They're too busy doing the drop off service that they don't sweep up or help customers. The other bad thing is the DIABOLICAL LAUNDRY CARD. This is a card that you load up with money to use the machines. You have to permanently lose time off your life, TIME that you will never get back, trying to get the card to read on the machine readers. It is extremely oppressive and is designed to make you question the meaning of your life. This laundromat is the equivalent of the egg salad at a gas station. You're hungry and you think you'll be ok. The only reason why I've been here 3 times is because the card has a balance. I refuse to leave a cent to this place, even if the scent it gives me is unpleasant.

This review is long overdue, but I have to share why I'm a loyal fan of this specific CD One Price Cleaners for life. One day last summer, I took my wedding and engagement rings off while using sunscreen, and put them in the pocket of my dress. Later that day, my husband took our dry cleaning in. It wasn't until the following morning that I had a hunch EXACTLY where I'd misplaced my rings. In a panic, I drove to the cleaners. They hadn't found rings, but did a few important things: 1) I walked with someone and we watched the surveillance footage of when my dress was tagged. It's hard to tell there are pockets, so they didn't check them when tagging 2) With me, they found the bin my cleaned dress was in, about to be pressed/hung. No rings :( 3) They let me check the machine the dress had been washed in, as well as search through the box of buttons/jewels that sometimes fall off of clothing. Still no luck. The next day, I got a call from the owner who asked me to describe my rings. When I'd described them in detail, he told me he had them with him and would meet me at the store. I was THRILLED, and will always go back there. We've since moved to Arlington Heights, and that's still where we go every time. Incredibly trustworthy, AND they do a great job with our clothes. I am still amazed by how lucky I was to get my rings back. read more

Exceptional service! Ran into a situation where my son came home from college and needed his favorite shirt cleaned and pressed within a couple of hours. While I could attempt this on my own, I decided to ask the team at CD1 where I bring all my cleaning. I went in right at opening on Saturday morning and was greeted with the same happy smile and energy I get each time I go. I explained my situation to Fermin, as I knew it was outside the normal service process. Without skipping a beat, he said it would be no problem at all and that he was happy to do it. He put this shirt in for a one hour turn. It was fantastic. Service beyond expectations. The CD1 team made me the hero that day. My son was impressed that I was able to pull it off. Thanks CD1 team. I've been using this location for several years now and have been extremely pleased with the entire process. The front line employees are always friendly, courteous, and professional. They are "real people", not some type of robotic workers reading a greeting off of a pre-written script. Fremin the franchise owner is always available to help with any problems that might occur. The very few times I had an objection to a work product, Fermin would step up, take charge, and resolve it to my liking. After recently relocating and retiring,(YES !!!!!) I tried another location and was very disappointed with their entire process. Go somewhere else. They're so rude and LAZY!! My husband went to pick up our dry cleaning albeit early, but took time from work cuz that's the only time he could make it between work and school. When he got there, the girl at the front just kept telling him you're early it's not ready. Of course he asked her to be sure and check but she just kept telling him it's early INSTEAD of going to check in back. Maybe try and give a little extra effort. God forbid. Anyway, he gets home 25 minutes to Barrington and I get a text that the clothes are ready. We had not used them in a long while for a past incident and I figured well lets try again. My son's sweatshirt had gone through the dryer with the laundry detergent pod attached to it. There was a large wet spot around the pod and a lot of dry stain spots on the sweatshirt. They had to do 3 different treatments to remove everything and they did, when one didn't work they tried another. Incredible commitment to quality and customer service. CD one price cleaners helped me out when I was in a jam where I had 2 funerals in 3 days and the off day was a Sunday. They had my pants dry cleaned and ready on Monday morning by 8 o'clock, even though they didn't open until 10:30 on Sunday and THEY'RE MACHINES WERE DOWN! I love this CD One cleaners. I do a ton of dry cleaning every week and I have always received great service from the staff as well as the owner Fermin. I have plenty of dry cleaners closer to my home but knowing my clothes will be taken care of is well worth the trip. (claimed to be the manager) Once senior management can justify why they require a customer's personal information including DOB in order to process a pay cash transaction I will change my opinion of this business. I am quite please with the attention to detail. I am always treated with a smile by either Jury or Fermin the owner. I really like my French cuff shirts and they always pay attention to the cuffs and collars to make them look sharp. Even Flat Ken from palatine takes his shirts there, so you know it's gotta be good. read more

I have been to many CD One cleaners and by far this location is the best! Even though I live about 35-40 min from this location I still go out of my way to take my clothes there- the Sunday hours are very convenient. The care in handling of my garments declined, and it was clear that steps were removed from the former Norgetown way. I wasn't ready to let them tailor my clothes as Sue had until they earned my trust again, alas they won't get that chance. Today, after unpacking my recent cleaning, I discovered that my favorite pair of pants that Sue had cleaned for quite some time had suddenly shrunk in length (and nope, I'm not taller or heavier!); they look absurd now - and they simply can't be replaced. Clearly Sue had used a different method, and now my signature pants are no more. They were expensive, but now I know they were priceless. I'm heartbroken and angry. I had also recently requested an attempt be made to remove a spot on my blazer - they marked it, but missed it; I was ultimately able to remove it myself, so that left me disappointed in their service and attention to detail. Other pants were suddenly filled with static in a way that they never were after cleaning previously, and now they all cling to my leg in an unsightly way. Ugh! And my clothes still reek of this new chemical. Disgusting. With kindness I wish this new staff the best of luck as they find their way and build trust with new customers, but I'm never going back. Two stars - but only for the faded memories of the former seven star service.
