EVERY-SINGLE-TIME I go to this place, the price has increased! I started going here when they were .99 per piece. Last time I was there (one month ago) the price was $4.75/ea. Extremely unprofessional service and complete lack of responsibility. I had two very bad experiences with this dry cleaning. First, I brought an expensive dress (around $500). When I came to pick it up on the promised day, they could not find it. Staff searched everywhere -- clean items, dirty items, everything -- and the dress was completely missing. Only the next day I was informed that it was "found." Where it was and why it disappeared remains unclear. Because of this, I did not have my dress for an important event. Despite this serious issue, I gave them another chance -- which was a big mistake. I later brought two expensive white blazers (one ~$500, another ~$300). Both were returned ruined. * One blazer came back with multiple stains that were never there before and is now completely unwearable. * The belt from that blazer was also lost and only returned later after I came back again. * The second blazer (part of a matching set) came back yellow/ivory instead of white, making the set unusable. I received my items in worse condition than when I brought them in. When I pointed this out, staff denied responsibility and claimed the stains were already there, which is absolutely not true. The only "compensation" I received was a refund of the $5 cleaning fee -- for items worth over $800 total. If you care about your clothes, especially expensive ones, I strongly recommend staying away. A clean-looking location and decent Google rating do not reflect the actual quality or accountability of this business. read more

Their signs say "Alterations". When I took skinny jeans in wanting outer seam opened 3" more than I'd had done yrs. ago someplace else, they refused, "We don't do custom." I emailed stating what happened, asking why, that by definition "alterations" means "custom" to the individual, that this was simplest thing ever, no cutting or sizing, no "customizing". Replied to call. Rather than wait days with phone tag, I emailed in detail again, far simpler for me. Never heard back. Went to Inverness Cleaners. Only question they asked- how far did I want seam cut. Inverness is Wonderful, they did a great job! read more

I brought in a wool suit that needed dry cleaning and altering the cuff length (shortened by 2"). Although they do not advertise alterations, I asked and was quoted a very reasonable price. There is no tailor on the premises, but CD Cleaners send things out for alterations stating a 7-10 day turn around. The suit jacket was ready the next day and the altered pants took only 5 days. The suit is now cleaned and fits extremely well due to the alteration. I highly recommend CD Cleaners for both their dry cleaning and low price/high quality alterations, if you know what needs to be done. read more

I had two white comforters to be cleaned at the Palatine facility. After taking both comforters home, I still noticed yellowing at the top end of one of my comforters. Also, the second comforter which had a stain on it was not removed, even though their website mentioned stain removal. I would not recommend using this cleaning service. read more

I have to be honest and say I've only been here once to get a suit cleaned. (I learned the hard way that you should not wash suits at home in the wash...) CD One Price is a wonderful oasis for those needing dry cleaning! I dropped off my suit and was greeted by a young worker who cheerfully got all my details down and then scheduled a pick-up day/time. The whole place was a bee-hive of dry-cleaning wonderment! Machines hissed and steamed as they cleaned and the air smelled of those dryer sheets you use at home. Everyone was smiling as they worked and I would not have been surprised if the whole shop burst out in song, just like in those weird musicals of the old days! Always a great and painless experience here, but recently we experienced above and beyond service. My husband needed a zipper replaced on an old Patagonia jacket. When he brought it in to get fixed, the gentleman at the counter reminded him that Patagonia has a replacement policy. I really enjoyed this cleaners, it was on my route to work and I could get in and out quickly with a cup of coffee. What changed? I had a hole in the arm of a $20 work shirt. I said I would just throw it out. But they said said they could fix it for $8. My previous cleaners would have done it for $1 but I said okay if I can get a few more uses out of it for $8 fine. 2 weeks later they call back saying there was more than one hole and i would have to pay to fix the other hole. I didn't want to fix the first hole, the owner was rude and indignant about it, made the workers deliver his message to me (didn't return my request to call back), and made me pay to fix the first hole even though the shirt is unusable. I switched to another dry cleaner in Palatine, also on my way to work. The new cleaner is cheaper, has a seamstress/tailor on site and does small repairs for free. They also have free coffee and cookies... The owner needs to learn about lifetime value of a customer. I've spent over $1K there the past 1.5 years and they lost me over $8. Update on my last review: the manager reached out to me about the issue I had with my lost buttons & offered me a suitable resolution. All in all, this is a good cleaners. They're usually pretty quick. Most times I drop off my dress shirts or other clothing before I go to work, it's usually ready by the time I get off, same day. I haven't had an issue with my dress shirts thus far, the staff is pretty friendly and the manager seems willing to work with you if you have any issues with your dry cleaning. read more
