I've been a loyal customer of Tide Dry Cleaners (Mt Prospect) since the day they opened, and unfortunately the quality and professionalism have declined significantly over time. Under the original ownership, the service was consistently excellent. After a change in ownership, the quality became inconsistent but somewhat acceptable until more serious issues began to occur. On one occasion, I brought in a men's coat for dry cleaning. It was returned to me in the same condition: not cleaned at all and still visibly wrinkled inside and out, indicating that even basic finishing/pressing had not been performed. I immediately on the spot raised this issue with Mercedes and she did not like that, immediately she's confrontational, lies, changes the story and gets mad when you prove your point. I had also specifically requested that the buttons be covered to prevent damage, and that request was not followed. While she offered to redo the work (and pick up the coat in 2 days), this was not a practical solution at the time, as the coat was needed that same evening and the following morning for travel. This left me paying for a service that was not performed as expected. On a later visits, I brought in several men's shirts; the results were acceptable but not at the level I previously experienced. Most concerning, during my most recent visit with a men's suit, I was told by one of the women, that they would no longer do business with me, without any explanation. At the same time, I continue to receive promotional emails and marketing communications from them, which is confusing and unprofessional given that I was refused service and they closed my account. Overall, this has been a very unpleasant experience, failure to perform contracted services, failure to follow specific customer instructions, inadequate quality control, and inconsistent and arbitrary customer service practices. read more

THE Tide Cleaners on 1101 Elmhurst Road in Mount Prospect, IL. is managed by Mercedes, a person who lied to me about a mistake that cost me $600. I brought in a very expensive linen summer jacket for her to dry clean to remove a few spots after just wearing it for a couple weeks. When I picked it up and brought it home, it was shrunk by at least 2-3 sizes. Although I paid for it to be dry-cleaned, it was obviously laundered. When I brought it in to show her, she was extremely aggressive to me, refused to listen to my concerns and kicked me out of her store. This to me is not a very proper way to run a business. I asked her to please send it into the corporate offices to see what she could do to offset the $600 I spent to replace the jacket, and she simply refused to do that, and took no responsibility for the mistake made by one of her employees. My MESSAGE to anyone who takeS their clothes to be dry cleaned is: STAY AWAY, unless you are willing the risk of their workers to cheat you out of your money by taking the price to dry clean, but instead launder at a cheaper rate, and in the process ruining your good clothes. THE PLACE WILL RIP YOU OFF, just as other complaints before my review said. STAY AWAY! I was a long-time customer of Tide Dry Cleaners, had gone there since they opened, but I am no longer a customer/taking my work wardrobe there. I had 3-4 "situations" where I never truly felt taken care of/made whole, even after a manager escalation. For my last visit, I had 2 cotton silk shirts worn 2-3 times, a large size, that were dry-cleaned and shrunk to be comparable to a small. These shirts were $120 a piece and purchased just 2 months prior to the cleaning that ruined them. After back and forth, I was offered $36 per shirt. This was a quarter of the original purchase price after tax. Other times, it was ripped dress shirts/damaged collars, etc. The last time, they had ripped one of my dress shirts, and I was offered a small store credit. The top two shirts are the ones that I "trusted" Tide Dry Cleaners to clean (dry clean only). The proof is in the picture, but due to the poor customer service, botch clean jobs, and terrible issue resolution, I do not recommend taking anything there. Beware!!! read more

I gave them my name and pheon number but when the person put in my name another person with my same name popped up and they put me in as her. I did not know this until I went to pick up the rugs and they told me it was already charged to my account. I told them I did not have an account there. It took 3 people 35 minutes to figure out how to correct this error. it should have taken 3 minutes. All the employees were very rude and there was no manager on site. for my trouble I got a 15% off coupon for sweater cleaning. TERRIBLE quality. I brought in my uniform to have a patch be sewn on. The dude at the front desk used tape to mark wear it should be placed and I was told it will be ready by Friday ( a week later ). I receive a text on Wednesday stating the uniform is ready to be picked up. I come in and my jaw absolutely drops. Not only is it sewn on terribly (I could've done a better job) but whoever did the job cut it WAY too short and placed it in a completely wrong spot. I've been a loyal customer of Tide, and I guess this makes me a slow learner. In the past couple years, I've been sent home with other people's clothing (took them back both times). Earlier this winter when spending about 200-500 a month on laundry service, they somehow acutely stained 5 all white shirts / hoodies. They were able to use dye remover and get all but one clean. Took them 5 weeks after promising 1 week turnaround. Every item came back faded and one still was stained (all the items were limited edition "merch" that can't be replaced. They have now lost a pair of dress pants (along with my personally labeled Tide dry cleaning bag) and can't do anything about it. They have just said I'm mistaken and didn't drop them off. Enough - avoid this place like the plague. When they get it right, they're awesome, but when they don't, it's bad. You just have to expect stained, faded or lost items if you go there. I read more

Since they have opened they have had the most wonderful staff. My family does a fair amount of dry cleaning. We have used their seamstress as well. They are so friendly. Helpful. Know you by name. The ease of pulling up to the door and the service to your car is amazing. To be able to pick and drop off at any time is a plus in our busy life. Always responsive if there is a question or an extra need. Never lost items or receiving someone else's. A small commemorative pin detached from a suit jacket. Meant so much to my son. They searched the entire premises for about a month and found this one inch pin!!!! Above and beyond!!! I take my clothes constantly to cleaners for wash and fold large amounts and small amounts and never have I paid what this place charged. 101dollars for a single bag of clothes. Horrible service and unacceptable job! This business does not deserve any stars. They charged $26, after $5 coupon, for the dress and jacket. The stains on the dress were not removed at ll, and the jacket was returned in the same condition as it was turned in for the cleaning (dirty color and cuffs; remaining wearing smell vs.a fresh smell after the cleaning) . When I came back to this shop and asked to redo the job or return my money back due to my dissatisfaction with the service, I was told they would not reimburse me and they would not redo the cleaning because, most likely, it will destroyed my dress by discoloration of the problem area. I did not receive a response to my question, -why they took the order while knew that noting could be done, especially, considering the fact that the stains had been pointed at the time of acceptance the order.... My recommendation to the consumers: Don't spend your hard earned money for this disgraceful business. It was raining, so I GREATLY appreciated the covered valet area where I could stay dry. Although my email was entered incorrectly, it was corrected right away when I returned to pick up my laundry. I LOVE that there are suckers and dog treats available for both my sugar addition and my dog's love of treats! While the prices are high compared to CD 1 Price Cleaners, different offers make it close to competitive, and the location is convenient for me, so I will use Tide Dry Cleaners regularly. The quality of the cleaning and pressing was superior to CD 1 Price Cleaners also, so that makes the higher price more tolerable. Well... it got worse . I picked up my curtains, they are shorter than when I brought them in, not clean, AND now missing a grommet. JC told me to bring them in. said stains are not covered, one looked like a water stain he said. Oook. Missing grommet , his seamstress will add one . Next , curtains are shorter than when i brought them in , they used to pool on the ground about 4 inches, now they hang above the floor about an inch. He looks at the tag, says they were 96", I said ok . He then searches for a tape measurement for several minutes , finally settles on a ruler . Measures them out , Just over 7 times the 12" ruler . Looks up and says , yep they are the same size . Not sure what kind of math he is doing . 7x12 is not 96. Call that out , he said well I can redo them and stretch them back out, unless I'd rather use the money towards new curtains. I said I would like a refund of the money you took for a job not done well and I need new curtains . Nope , not an option , he can "fix" , but not before the holiday. I got the refund , but am still at a loss. These are ruined, but putting these back up till Christmas so my windows aren't completely bare, then will have to just buy another set as I'm not going to bother paying him to "fix" these . I go to dry cleaners all the time. Average bill is around $30-$40. This was $35... after 50% off for a new customer. Which I do appreciate. Their prices are very expensive. Great service, great attitude by employees, and valet service and 24 hour lockers are a nice touch. Now if they can come down in price, they may have a sustainable place in the neighborhood. I liked the place, but I'll happily walk my own clothes in if it means paying around half of what they charge. read more

I love this place. Read the other reviews carefully...they are very focused on price and you will not notice a lot of issues. I think dry cleaning is like gas. People really complain about the price whenever it fluctuates. I mean honestly, if you don't want to pay for dry cleaning then don't by clothes that require it. How many dry cleaners basically make it so you never have to step out of your car to pick up your items? Not many. You pay a bit for that convenience. To me, it's worth it. I have no problem with the pricing. They seem to offer coupons regularly, the staff is really friendly, and they have ALL the amenities. Easy location and quick, quality service. I needed 3 pairs of cotton pants pressed because of the "cut" they are extremely difficult to iron at home with an ironing board. I dropped the pants off on Wednesday morning and was told they would be ready on Thursday after 5pm. The pants look amazing and I love the quality of their work. I'd rather go to the mom and pop shops. The clerks are really nice, but their method of record keeping is flawed and ripe for abuse. How my card got linked to another account I'd never know. The way their system works is they actually had to have the card number to set up an account, yet there was a different name and phone number linked to it after I discovered I was being charged @ the same time I was dropping off clothes. But I went to put on my favorite nice dress this morning that I picked up a few weeks ago and it's unwearable. What used to be just above knee length now leaves little to the imagination. To make matters worse, the hems down the length kept the sides from shrinking, so now it's a-symmetrical: long on the sides, short in front and back. I am so disappointed. He must have heard the panic in my voice and said he will have the suite ready the next morning.
