Muugii always does a great job with my nails and takes her time to make sure they last. She has given me plenty of ideas as well to make sure they look good/better than i imagined. I always come back for her for every occasion!

My lashes with mascara before going to Laveda.

I have been going to Laveda for over a year. I get lash refills and bottom lashes. I original got them done on 14th Street but have been going to Wisconsin Ave for the past 4 months. The last time I had my lashes done by Nami they were itching something terrible. I thought it was going to stop but after a few days I had to make an appointment at the 14th Street location pay and have them removed. My appointment was with Shirin. Shirin said there was a lot of irritation probably because she saw glue all on my tear line. She asked me where I had been getting my lashes done. YOUR OTHER LOCATION! I used to get many compliments on my lashes before I started getting them done. With mascara on it looked like I had on lashes. I got tired of putting on mascara every day and taking it off at night. Now I look like I have no lashes at all even with mascara. I got my lashes professionally removed to save my lashes. It looks like they were cut off. I have no length at all, and they are not half as thick as they were. This is very upsetting. I should have just cut them off myself. When I got home and looked into my magnifying mirror, I noticed I still had three on and there was remaining glue. I ended up having a $30 credit on my account at the end of service. I told them to just keep it because I will never be back. I wish I had never started going there. My eyes now look awful.

Email from Laveda manager Marcel that offers a free lash fix.

TL;DR this one star is a review of the unprofessional owner and not rest of the Laveda staff. I decided to try lash extensions for the first time ahead of a birthday trip. My first technician was great and I loved my lashes after. Unfortunately, 24 hours later, they were falling out for unknown reasons. I had already left for my trip so I sent an email to ask for tips to maintain them. Marcel, the manager, responded quickly letting me know that my experience was not normal. He suspected there was an adhesive issue. He encouraged me to text a photo of my lashes (which I did) and call upon returning from my vacation for a free fix (which I did). See the photo of the email I received. When I returned from my vacation, I called and explained the situation. They asked about the status of my lashes, and I shared that the majority of extensions had fallen out within the first few days. They said that's fine and scheduled me. When I went to the salon, I was asked again and I explained the situation. They started my service right away with no issues until 40 minutes in when the owner came over. At this point, my eyes are taped shut and the adhesive from the lashes that had been applied so far still wet. The owner explained that a lash fix is only complimentary after 5 days and that my technician would either need to wrap up or I would need to pay full price. WHAT? I told her that Marcel offered--without me even requesting--the free fix after my vacation. She told me that Marcel the manager is her husband, she was aware of what he told me, but that he tends to be overly accommodating... Very awkward situation for me considering that I can't do anything about it at this point, especially with her just reciting the company policy that I apparently violated and repeating that I could either pay or wrap up mid-service. Umm if there's a miscommunication between manager and owner, deal with that without involving the customer! So yeah, I left with partial lashes. And I share this for anyone who may experience issues in the future or wonder if they're being gaslit by an owner who couldn't bother to address said issues at any point outside of when I was physically incapable of engaging in conversation. The owner never came back out, by the way. The technician apologized and said she did her best--definitely not her fault.

These are the brows I had hope to make permanent; tap pic and see how luxurious they are.

If you are hype'd about the latest trends, then take your chance, in what would be considered, a medical procedure, in some circles, having your eyebrows micro bladed and with shading. First of all it hurts like a million bees attacking your forehead and you can't squint just sit there and take it, I was scared I would loose my dignity if I screamed for it was a quiet quant area. They stated some clients sad it was intense. Yo, don't be fooled, it felt like small cuts of a razor across your forehead, and the shading felt like someone stamping you forehead with 45 bic pens in a rhythmic manner. Shear hysteria I practice bikram hot yoga, so I can take pain , this is something next level I got the micro blading (shading) eyebrow treatment. Now the advertisement was 20% off the procedure. No where did it say it , this was a mandatory two part procedure. Buttt, you are now invested and you feel foolish to let your FACE, of all things, wear the mark of a failed attempt! You hope that it gets better, if you go under the recommendation of the semi professional after some time has passed ( two weeks) I was never forewarned what would happen in between time, only dap your eyebrows when they leaked. My eyebrows crusted, itched and flaked into my food and drink. If only I was forewarned this is what happens to tattoos. Never ever had I considered getting a tattoo in my life. I did not know micro blading was code word for tattoo. My technician said she neglected to give me paperwork to care for the wound, but is it not the responsibility of this organization to make sure they cover what they say, in writing as well-- RIGHT. No it only got worse The lesson here is. RUN do not feel the pressure to correct a mistake and then try to use your " eye" to direct the correction. There is a reason you entrust your face, something you will wear for all eternity. I guess that's why Megan Good has to pretend her eyebrows are exactly as she wanted. Mine look just like hers Don't go unless your hooked on the latest trend.

Laveda is the only salon I will go to for my lashes. I've followed Lucy and her crew to all locations over the years. Lucy is attentive to my requests and always goes the extra mile. The Georgetown location is my favorite by far-- luxurious and serene. I also recently brought my mom here for a pedicure which she raved about. Check this salon out for all of your beauty needs-- you won't regret it. Hint: they validate for the parking in the garage across the street.

I go to the 14th St location and really like Becky for lashes. Amanda is great for mani/ped. Recommend both!

Highly recommend pedicure services from here!…read more While I was out taking care of errands, I looked up on yelp some nearby nail shops, in hopes of getting a serious spa pedicure, and that's when I came across the incredibly high reviews of Famous Nails Spa. I called them to see if I can come in the next 10 mins for a pedicure, and they took me without issue. I was warmly welcomed when I walked in and asked to sign in, and then I walked back to the pedicure chairs. My nail techinician, who didn't introduce herself and was not particularly warm towards me, greeted me and got down to business. Now-I warned her that my feet were in a rough condition, so I didn't mind her being all business because these toes needed THE business. The pedicure service was fantastic!! my feet were scrubbed and rubbed, my toes nails cut and shaped, and my polish was summertime ready. My nail technician offered me water towards the end of my service, which I graciously accepted, however I noticed most people were offered a beverage at the beginning of their service. The spa is relatively cozy in size and efficient, no frills or luxury, but everything was tidy, and my pedicure was done amazingly, and completed in a bit over an hour. I checked out efficiently and was given a somewhat short and dry good bye..hahahaha. But honestly, their service speaks for itself. I definitely would visit here again, and beware of the limited street parking.. prices are reasonable too!

I thoroughly enjoyed my pedicure - Gianni used exceptional ability to clean and shape my nails and my polish was gorgeous. I did regular polish instead of gel because that's what came with the spa day that I'd purchased. Usually I hate non-gel nails, but the pedicure was first and they dried fairly hard before the manicure was finished. The manicure was also quite creditable. The nails were shaped and cleaned expertly, but I should have gone for a buff. Full disclaimer: I haven't done regular nail polish in YEARS, I have been an SNS person, but never having been here before, I preferred to withhold judgment (and $$) until I knew the quality of work that was done. This was a mistake. I don't know if I think it was an accident, but this was some of the worst polishing I've ever had in my life. The fan that she had me using made my polish wavy on the tips and when she moved me to the back to the drying station, it dried sideways and the polish basically shifted on the nail bed. She did two of the nails again, but ALL of them look terrible and it's been one day. Overall, not impressed with the regular manicure. Having been a customer of nail salons for a very long time, I would not be surprised that this was a deliberate ploy to get me to upgrade my services, but she never asked! The spa is lovely, the pedicure chairs and comfortable, deep, and private and the massage function works beautifully. The polish colors and offerings are expansive, and they do offer wine with services. If I go back, I will try the SNS with another nail tech. My pedicure is fabulous, but I'm taking off my polish tonight. In truth, my nails will still look good - the manicure itself was fine- but it wasted a ton of time and I didn't enjoy that aspect.
