Best Swedish massage I've ever had hands down. This place has everything I look for in a spa: relaxing music, calm setting, clean, everything about this massage was perfect. I called as soon as the place opened to schedule a 12pm massage. I got there at 11:40 and I was taken to my room right away. The room was dim and cozy. The ladies there were very nice. Thanks to the reviews, I stopped in today (same day appt.) after speaking with Micheal, and was not disappointed. Masks are required, temperatures are checked, and he even check his Temp and the masseuses temp prior to starting. It's a very calm, no frill establishment but the customer service in amazing (water provided and constant reassurance of how you are doing). Ms. Shi Shi (I'm certain it's not spelled that way) did her thing! Her English was a bit shaky, but she was very sweet, professional, and ensured I was okay throughout. Lavender Body work continues to be the best place to get a massage - even during Covid times when we all can use some "me" time. They are careful, take your temperature at the door and then take their own temperature to show you they are well. Very clean. Very welcoming and polite. The massage therapists are super excellent. The manager, Michael is super accommodating, professional and friendly. Great Vibe. I get a massage at least twice a month here. I would get one every week if I could. He is so kind, so accommodating I was offered fruit and water before and after my massage. The noise level can be a little loud at times when customers are coming and leaving. The massage itself was a deep tissue and it was intense. Not everyone would probably like such intensity so you should specify that beforehand. I used to go here for many years and was so heartbroken when then closed down. Now they are back again with the same gracious generous owner, Michael. The coffee tables are still full of snacks, fresh fruits and bottle water and hot Chinese teas. The only way to go is to get the 90 mins massage. I got Jack the masseur with ultra strong hands and know where all my knots are in my body, very professional. My boyfriend got July she was also excellent. We got the couples room and both fell asleep during the massage because we were sooo relaxed. One of the best massages I've ever had. And when we left, they disinfect the room with alcohol. It's very clean, they take your temperature as well as their own and show you. Before they start, they show you their set timer so you know when it's finished. I visited this massage shop (it's not a spa) at the recommendation of a friend who lives in the area. It's very no-frills on everything from the decor to the service, which translates to the appealing price point. My two friends and I made appointments to get massages for the same time, but they could only take two people at the same time, and the other an hour later. This was not an issue to us and went with whatever order they decided to book us. They have a combo special advertised, which includes a 30 minute foot and 30 minute body massage for $39. I wanted a longer body massage, so negotiated a 30 minute foot and 60 minute body massage for $60 (would typically cost $70). The female masseuse started with my feet first, which I thought was unusual, but did not comment on it. She worked on my feet for the allotted 30 minutes. The foot massage was okay, but nothing remarkable. Then, she started working on my back and that was also okay. The massage was just the same repetitive motion with some pressure. Almost no change in method or skill applied. I kept having this expectation that she would eventually do something different. She finally moved to massage my arms and legs briefly (like, a quick squeeze) before announcing she was done. The time she spent on my body was about the same amount of time she spent on my feet. Granted, I did not have a watch on, but I've had many, many massages before, and I can tell when someone spends 30 minutes versus 60 minutes on me. I told her that I wanted a one-hour body massage, and she nodded and said, yes, one hour. I was surprised, but I got up and got dressed, anyway. Now, I think I need to mention that everyone from the manager (maybe owner?) to the masseuse speak little to no English. This is not something that is typically an issue for me, but I wonder if miscommunication was the cause of the poor service. When I came out to the reception area, I told the manager that I didn't think I got a one-hour body massage. He quickly asked the masseuse a question in their language and she replied. He said she confirmed she gave me a one-hour body massage. I did not argue further, as I had no actual proof of my claim. I paid for the service and left. The manager and masseuse were very pleasant and cordial the entire time, even when I questioned the length of time they spent on my massage. Based on my experience, I'm inclined to give them a two-star rating because I did not leave satisfied with my treatment, nor would I return. This was an establishment born of the ability to create the service, but not with the capability to provide a skilled one. Perhaps they'll get better over time. read more

A real neighborhood gem. It's my favorite place to go for a massage. Michael who usually works the front desk is super sweet, always gracious and super friendly. Since pandemic, they've taken extra steps to sanitize the rooms, take everyone's temperature as well as the massage therapists and keeps every room clean and pleasant. I usually like to stick to one good massage therapist rather than trying different therapists but i have never been disappointed with any of their massage therapists. They are all very skilled and know their craft and are willing to accommodate your requests if you prefer a soft or firmer pressure massage. They are reasonably priced and they always offer you a bottle of water and there is a platter of assorted fruits for you. It's always my highlight to start or end my week by going to Lavender.
