Most people either didn't answer, never called back, or were too busy to help. Layne answered the phone. But more importantly, he listened. He took the time to sit there and listen to all my problems and everything that was going wrong with the RV. At the time, I had been staying at El Capitan and my time there was coming to an end, so I was getting ready to move on. But right as I left the campground, my RV started completely falling apart. Problem after problem just kept piling up, and I was beyond stressed trying to figure out what to do. Based on the symptoms I described, Layne honestly believed the biggest issue sounded transmission-related, so instead of trying to take the work for himself, he referred me to a transmission specialist because he genuinely thought that was the best way to help me. That immediately told me what kind of person he was. The transmission shop later told me it would take weeks before they could even get to the RV. At that point, everything else on the RV was also starting to fail electrically, so I called Layne back to see if there was anything he could do to help with the other issues while I figured out the transmission situation. That's when my RV literally died in his driveway. Most people would have looked at that situation and wanted nothing to do with it. Layne didn't. This man spent his weekend helping me get my RV back on the road, and now, two weeks later, I'm back again while he installs my solar system. Layne is one of the smartest people I've ever met. RVs and boats are all different. Nothing is straightforward. Every system has been modified, patched, upgraded, or engineered differently over the years, and Layne has this rare ability to understand each project one piece at a time and engineer real solutions. Estimate came in quickly and was reasonable so I agreed to proceed to do the work. Steven did all the communicating with Southern California Edison and I was never cced on emails or looped in despite requesting to be. As replacement date neared I contacted steven a few days before to discuss details. He informed me the need to reschedule as too close to labor day. I said ok no problem. A few days before second replacement date Steven dropped by looked over the panel again and told me everything was on for 9/16/25 at 8am with SCE scheduled to come disconnect power with him completing the job same day and SCE to reconnect. Sounded great I made arrangement for the family to be out of the house all day. Long story short no one showed up, not steven not SCE. I called and texted steven multiple times, left voicemail with no response. I gave him 24 hours benefit of the doubt just in case something unforeseen occurred. Nothing. I finally reached out to SCE to see if I was ever on their schedule. I was told that I was scheduled both times and the electrician cancelled last minute both times . Most recently I was told that the electrician told SCE that he is not rescheduling and simply canceling with no intention of doing the job. Where was that communication with me? Steven, this has been one of the most unprofessional interactions I have been involved in. If the job was too big , too small, too medium, too complex, not complex enough, you are too busy, not busy enough all you had to do was say so. Instead you wasted my time for over one month and I am left having to do this all over again with a different company. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Rubin took over three months to do a simple panel upgrade and after calling multiple times with repeated excuses of why he wouldn't complete the project telling me that he was too busy to complete the project and it would take too much time, so my customer would just have to wait week until he found the time to get the permit and to complete the permit process to finish the job. He left things which uncompleted and done wrong. Rubin can easily fool you with his attitude. My customer was extremely upset why he wouldn't finish the job and she did deduct money off of his bill because he didn't complete the job. Because of his terrible service he gave my company and a bad reputation and I definitely would suggest to not hire Ohm electric. When you expect to have an honest person with a kind humble attitude, Rubin is not the person that you can trust. Beware. We also had an agreement because I'm a General Contractor and he's refusing to pay because the customer didn't pay him completely because he gave them terrible service.
