The communication was not always great trying to get this appointment scheduled but I still can't take a star off for the amazing service. Snazzy did such a good job with my beautiful Yorkie. She did everything I asked for as far as the appearance I asked for & did a great job with the other stuff like nails, cleaning, being patient with the introduction process to my Pablo, etc. I've used several mobile pet groomers for my pup but when my baby came out, I have never seen him so excited & happy following a grooming appointment. It was all worth the patience to get through the little hiccups leading up to the appointment because I know my sweet boy was well taken care of. He feels much better shedding all that fur in this heat & the bandana was such an adorable touch. We are so happy to have found Snazzy. Our guy loves her and she's so good with him. She's been grooming him since he was about six months old. She's very consistent, kind and gentle with him. He's an Australian Shepherd and she's very familiar with his breed and how to handle and groom him. She always trims him beautifully without compromising his beautiful coat and has given me great tips on brushes, etc. to maintain his coat in between his grooming appointments. I would give negative stars if I could. Absolutely unacceptable. Wouldn't let her touch my dog again if she paid me. Disagreed with our preference towards style and length of our dog's fur, and decided to shave it all to teach us a lesson, despite us not signing the waiver and asking just for a trim. Condescending with some BS comment about "humanity over vanity" when asked why she purposely didn't follow directions. Now our sweet pup shivers whenever outside, even just to go the bathroom. Snazzy and her helper Connor were amazing. This is my first time using Lavender Paws Pet Spa. I was very nervous because I have a 15-year-old JRT that gets very anxious with groomers. The last time I took her to a groomer she became so frantic, I had to go get her with half a haircut. First of all, not only were they on time, but they were actually a little early. This is a great improvement over my last groomer who never showed up or even called. Their van is impeccably clean and when they opened the doors it smelled fresh. Mel and Kingman are THE BEST! I have a 13 year old kitty who is fearful of strangers and most definitely fearful of strange men. Mel and Kingman have such a gentle, reassuring, loving way about them that Trixie purrs through her mani-pedi appointments. She purrs!!! The mobile aspect is a Godsend too. Mel texts a picture of Trixie after the nail trim if I'm not home (which is to say that I can carry on with my day and can still get the claws trimmed ---- LOVE that!). During one appointment, I happened to mention that Trixie throws up a lot so Mel suggested it might be due to chicken in her diet. Mel sure knows cat behavior because I tried kibble without any chicken and WOW what a difference in Trixie's digestion. Thank you Mel and Kingman for your loving help with my kitty. read more

I am gushing over my beautiful baby, Eevee, after her spa day with Mel. Eevee is a young Papillon and has never been professionally groomed. The papillon has a fine, single layer coat of medium length- they are known for their trademark ear fringe which gives them the name "butterfly". While I brush and bathe her regularly, I could not get rid of some insidious mats! And her feathery feet were foxtail magnets! On top of that, Eevee's grooming was threatening my marriage! Eevee hated having her mats picked at and my husband hated having to hold her! We got Mel's name from our dog walker and waited in anticipation of her beautiful van. All I can say is wow. The van was completely set up and pristine! Mel was kind and had good treats! In an hour, Eevee came bouncing through my door looking like a show dog, with an adorable 4th of July bow! Mel was able to get the nasty mat out of her ear without losing any fringe. Eevee smells so good, even a day later! I can't say enough wonderful things about Lavender Paws Pet Spa Mobile Grooming. We have had Mel groom our rescue dogs for a couple of years, and here's why we think she's more than 5-stars. Our dogs were not well socialized when we adopted them. We wanted a groomer who would allow us to be in the groomers with our dogs, or who would groom them in our home. Mel does both. Mel uses organic products, and although some of them are scented with natural essences, when we asked her to use our unscented organic pet products on our dogs (because of my allergies), she gladly agreed and got the organic unscented products to accommodate us. The first time Mel groomed our little girl dog, the dog needed to be muzzled because she was so upset when Mel groomed her feet. Today, she was licking Mel when Mel was working on her feet. When the dogs do get nervous, Mel uses essence of lavender which is known to calm humans and animals. It's a very gentle way to work with the dogs. Most groomers don't allow dog owners to be with the dogs when the dogs are being groomed. Not only did Mel let us be there, she let me tell her exactly how I wanted our dogs styled (or rather not styled, as we like the natural wild look). Mel encouraged me to be there, and to take as many photos as I wanted (hundreds). Now, Mel knows our preferences in products, cuts, and treats (we feed organic and raw and she provides the treats while grooming), so I just drop our two dogs at her mobile van which is parked outside our garage. Mel communicates well with our dogs, who love her, and also with us. Her background of over 25 years working with animals includes professional Pet Grooming for 25 years, 9 years experience as a Veterinary Assistant, and pet nutritional consultations - especially for the treatment of skin problems. Mel's van is beautiful. It's super clean, and essences of aroma-therapy waft from the open door and relax me when I drop off our dogs. Mel is gentle, knowledgable, kind, experienced, reliable, and loving to our pets. And her interest in her own health through yoga and diet translates beautiful into her interest in holistic health of our dogs. We love Lavender Paws Pet Spa. The convenience of having a brand new clean spa rolling up to our driveway is such a relief...and oh, the prices are about the same or less than we'd pay if we drove into town and went to a groomer who would not allow us to be there with our dogs, and who would not use organic products, and who would not have the vast variety of animal experience that Mel has. We live in a rural area and many of our neighbors in this small village use Mel, so on the day she comes to see our two doggies, she can also do a lot of the animals in the neighborhood. When we meet people walking dogs and ask who grooms their dogs, most everyone says "Mel". Mel truly offers a SPA for OUR ANIMALS. No need to worry about packing your dog up to get somewhere on time -- having the groomer come right to you is AMAZING! I've learned so much about Doodles, too. We thought having a hair breed meant less grooming, and easier maintenance. Couldn't have been more wrong! Curls tangle and knot. First time our girl was groomed she had to be shaved because the mats couldn't be combed apart without hurting her. Mel and her team do great work! They have groomed our dogs twice now. We have a Pomeranian and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The mobile grooming spa has changed our weekends and the girls' grooming experience. Gone are the groomer visits where they are crated for 75% of the visit while other dogs are groomed. With Lavender Paws Pet Spa the girls are walked right out our front door to an adorable and very clean grooming van when they're ready to be groomed and brought back in the house as soon as they're done. They always come back in the house happy and excited. Mel does the best cuts we've seen of a groomer in Marin (and we've been to 5+). She's a true expert in her space. You can schedule recurring visits for the van to come while you're away at work. The first visit is done while you're home and Mel was very flexible with her route, arriving at our house after work hours to accommodate our busy schedules. My dog Willy just had his first appointment with Lavender paws. They parked in the driveway, gave Willy and me a quick tour of their van which was super clean and ready for Willy. After about an hour Mel and Willy came bounding through the gate and he looked so happy, looked really good and smelled great too! This is a wonderful business - they call and confirm the day before your appointment AND when they are on their way. I love that Willy gets one on one attention instead of just dropping him off and then picking him up 6 hours later. Mel is awesome and I am so sad that I am moving out of the area because she is an awesome groomer. Charlie is my long hair flame point himilayan cat that she always grooms amazingly. She gave me great advice when she noticed Charlie had skin irritation and inquired about what food I was giving him. She recommended removing one particular food and gave me several suggestions. Immediately after changing to a better food his skin allergy cleared up. So, not only is she an excellent groomer, but she gives great advice about other aspects of your furry kid's health. I was so excited too find Lavender Paws. Mel is great and also her associate. We have a Himalayan cat her name is Sasha, we had her go too another groomers for 6 years they bathed her one time and told me they would never do it again. So we just had them clip her thinking since she did not want too be bathed and caused them a problem we thought that would be the best all around. The groomers decided too close there shop, and now I'm so glad when I called and talk too Mel she said she has worked with Himalayan's and she has one herself and she told me it's not healthy for the cats not too be bathed. After talking too Mel on the phone I was very excited too meet her. What an awesome person she is she was able too bathed Sasha but Mel realized it was the dryers Sasha did not like so she clipped her wrapped Sasha up in a towel and held her until she was dried. After several months of hearing my husband complain about the abundance of cat shedding from our Medium haired calico cat, we contacted Lavender Pet Spa after reading the reviews online. I was hesitant to call a groomer for a cat, as I didn't think it was a common practice. In fact, I felt silly even reaching out for assistance. On the phone, Mel assured me that they have groomed many cats. After the discussion, I felt comfortable setting up an appointment. Mel and an assistant showed up promptly at the appointment time, and the first impression was great. Both individuals were super friendly and assisted me with placing my cat into a pet carrier, so that they could carry her out to the van. They indicated that the grooming would take anywhere from 60-90 minutes. I asked for a "lion cut" so that the hair could be cut as short as possible, while leaving a little fur on the face and tail. They returned my cat in exactly an hour, and she looked so cute!!!!! She seemed to be very happy with her experience, and she was extremely active the afternoon and evening of her grooming appointment. I've already set up my next appointment, and I'm so glad I found a solution to our problem of excessive shedding and cat hair. The nail trimming was very helpful as well!!!
