I went to a special event yesterday at LWF and it was so much fun! They had amazing vendors, a food truck, lavender popcorn and lemonade to buy, animals roaming the grounds and a great shop. All of the vendors had a similar "artsy/hippie vibe" which i loved. It felt like an event more for adults than many farms that make them loud and fun for kids. This was kid friendly, but def more zen and upscale. They also had beautiful animals that were friendly and roaming very happily. It was very peaceful. I purchased some amazing lavender candles too. Beautiful lavender farm off of route 1 in Wakefield. Came for a gong bath/sound healing event and it was wonderful. They have pick your own lavender and a small farm store. During my visit I saw some ducks, camels and a white peacock. The smell was amazing and the setting was perfect for the event. read more

The Lavender Waves farm website has a lot of good information about the different activities available to do at the farm. There are options for a Luxurious Lavender Picnic, cut your own lavender, yoga in the lavender, or book a farm stay in the suite. My friend and I registered for the cut your own lavender event. The instructions said to please arrive at the farm no earlier than 10 minutes before our allotted time slot. Parking was easy since there was a gentleman directing you to which spot to park. Around 10:00am, check-in opened and we walked onto the farm. Chickens and ducks were roaming freely and greeted us. It was beautiful to see the rows and rows of different lavenders. At 10:20 am at the center gazebo, we learnt about the history of the farm, how to cut the lavender, and the different varieties of lavender on the farm by the owner. It was very informative. At 10:45am by the llama enclosure, we heard a little bit about the animals on the farm. We saw the alpacas, llamas, Diego the Donkey, and Humphrey the Bactrian Camel. Humphrey is very friendly and would let you pet him. He is only 19 months old. Next, we were onto cutting our lavender. We bought our own regular scissors and a tote bag since we didn't have a basket. Our ticket included cutting and bringing home 6 ounces of lavender. There is a scale in the gazebo so you can keep track of how much you have, but if you have too much and want to bring it home, they charge a price per ounce or you can tell them that you do not want it and they will remove from your bundle. There is also a store with lavender bundles, candles, alpaca yarn, honey from bee hives on the farm, soaps, lotions, etc. Next to the store, there was a stand for lavender lemonade and another stand with lotions, soaps, sprays, and crystals. This was such a fun and relaxing event to do on a Saturday morning and I highly recommend it. The staff are super friendly and would be happy to answer any questions. read more

Went last year and this year. Lovely farm and staff. Lots of animals to see including a new camel. We will be back next summer! The owner said our time was booked to capacity today. Parking was easy, no waiting in lines, and PLENTY of lavender. Some review claimed it was a lecture... the owner chatted for a few minutes to the whole group just to go over the kinds of lavender and what they're good for and how to cut. He then hung around to talk with anyone who had questions. Really nice gentleman and staff!! Remember to bring scissors or clippers and a basket to carry your lavender. read more

I had an absolutely fabulous time at the Lavender Waves Farm. it's located in Wakefield,R.I. right off the highway. Parking is limited so arrive on time and I would recommend carpooling if you have a larger group. For the cut your own Lavender events Tickets are timed (1.5 hours) each ticket allows you to cut 6 ounces of Lavender. you can roam the entire property during that time, they grow several types of Lavender during peak season. They also offer talking segments at the gazebo to tell you a bit about the Lavender and the farm. I absolutely loved Humphrey the camel, he was so friendly, I think it maybe the closest I've ever been to a camel. the alpacas and ducks were also a nice edition. you can buy alpaca feed in the gift shop. The staff were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. they'll help you weigh your lavender and they also run the gift shop during visits. I would recommend trying to lavender lemonade. Honestly the best $20 you'll spend on a local tourism event. go check them out! read more

Very nice staff. Great lecture about the lavender I recommend with a map that lists all the lavender, and where it is. Maybe that includes the cut instructions (which were provided). Maybe also include do's and don'ts, for example, when they're ready to cut. Target your main demographic, and include (3) sections: how to cut, different types of lavender (how long they last. etc.),and answers to F.A.Q.s or Do's and don'ts. Not everyone wants to go to a lecture, but still want Info. I have other ideas, but you'll have to hire me. Have more scales around in different areas. The people that worked for you were extremely kind and caring. read more

They advertise as a wedding venue. Took a deposit for our daughters wedding then 8 weeks before the event the owner has his wedding coordinator call to say they have to cancel as the are not actually licensed to have weddings . Really? He can't even make the call? NOT RECOMMENDED!! read more

What a hidden gem!!! This place is amazing; pictures don't do it justice. I attended the lavender cutting event yesterday and bought some wonderful lavender lotions. The farm suite on the properly looks like it's out of HGTV; such attention to detail! Can't wait to stay there again soon! An amazing place to stay!! We absolutely loved the farm suite! It surpassed all our expectations. We had the chef cook us dinner the first night and it was delicious! 5 stars!! We also enjoyed having a glass of wine in the gazebo and watching the animals! Especially loved Minnie the farm dog and Dolly the llama. read more
