I visited Aquidneck Farms on June 14th for their first Burger Night featuring The Rogue on the Road…read morefood truck. They had live music and it was great for a Friday night! You had to bring your own chairs if you wanted to hang around. That could be a problem if you only wanted the food and then go (like we did). The parking is small, since the farm is mostly for quick service pick ups. At Burger Night, a ticket gave you one burger, two sides and a beverage. I chose the BBQ Burger: Aquidneck Farms burger, smoked pulled pork, sharp cheddar, arugula, fried shallots, Carolina BBQ and bourbon BBQ sauce, and B+B pickles. For sides, I chose potato salad and coleslaw. The potato salad was amazing. It wasn't overly saucy, but just the right amount. The coleslaw was vinegar based and not my style. I definitely would order two potato salads next time! Overall, Aquidneck Farms grass fed beef is one of my favorites for burgers in Rhode island. You can find it on the regular menu at Rogue Island in Providence. I definitely recommend the trip, it's one of the best burgers!

Excitement because we saw two goats hanging out lol. There was a small shop where you could purchase different cuts of beef, pork, sausages, chicken, eggs and more. Unfortunately, there were a lot of items missing because of COVID. Still, we managed to get a small package of skirt steak. The man there was nice enough to give us a few bags of ice to keep it cold for our ride back home! I can't speak on the quality of the meat as we have yet to prepare it (hence the 4/5 stars). However I AM looking forward to eating it and will definitely post an update once we've had it! By the way, price-wise, you can get a dozen eggs for $6.

I am glad I had a chance to visit before Thanksgiving to stock up on some goodies! If you've been to Sweet Berry Farm in Middletown, Four Town is kind of similar, although the rustic farmhouse-chic shop does not have a prepared foods counter. However, they more than make up for it with all the amazing vegetables and fruits grown onsite. I was very impressed with the Honeycrisp Apples and Butternut Squash, as well as their wide selection of house made jellies and salad dressings. In addition to Four Town's slate of offerings, they also showcase other local vendors such as Wrights Dairy Farm's milk and cakes and Venda Ravioli's frozen fresh pasta and sauces. Four Town also carries fresh flowers and greenery that is holiday-ready - Christmas Trees and decorative wreaths and evergreen garlands. The team is friendly and offers excellent assistance in recommendations and recipe ideas- everyone we interacted with was delightful. This is a great stop along the way to lunch or dinner in neighboring Warren or Bristol, and a lovely way to spend a weekend afternoon!

If you're looking for straightforward, fall time fun... Escobar's Corn Maze is the place for you…read more My friends and I made the trek to the East Bay to partake on a picture perfect, blue sky day (the maze is generally closed when it's raining). Lots of available parking in a nearby field so I wouldn't recommend bringing your low rider here. There's a small shed where you can buy your entry tickets for the maze. The line was somewhat lengthy and they only accept cash on-site, so we opted to purchase our tickets online. That allowed us to quickly check in, grab a map, and find our way to the entrance. The maze itself was divided into two phases, so presumably, after finishing Phase 1, you could decide if you had it in you to traverse Phase 2. We passed many a tense moment among lost families arguing about which way to go so I imagine breaking this 8.5 acre maze into two helps keep people civil. The maze itself was well maintained. Couple narrow spots but for the most part, we could pass by others easily going every which direction. Numbered signs are posted throughout so if you do get lost, you have an idea if you're progressing. The maps are true maps so if you follow them closely, you can find your way to the exit easily. You could ditch the map too and truly lose yourself. We did get turned around at one point but what fun would it have been if we didn't get at least a little bit lost. At $10 per person, I thought it was a fair value for our time spent there. No kids in the group but there were some other available activities including leisurely hay rides, a cow train (that was bombing through the fields at breakneck speed), and a pumpkin patch. There were some snacks available at the ticket booth but nothing fall-themed (ex. bags of chips, cookies, etc). Reminded me of snacks available at a little league game. Port-a-potties available on site which was a welcome convenience.
