I will likely try this place one more time with another massage therapist and revise my review appropriately, as I did really like how I was treated before and after the massage and because I came to this place seeing that it has some great reviews. So, here we go: Pros: 1. Welcoming staff. 2.Good costumer service after the fact 3. Quaint feel Cons: *1. The massage therapist's service--no continuity/flow in the massage, she jumped from one body part to another haphazardly and quickly (within a minute she would jump from my shoulders, to my shins,back to my shoulders), pressure of massage was also not uniform and seemed haphazard as well; --I felt stressed during/end of the massage 2. The massage therapist's commentary--I heard about medication she was taking and then not taking, I heard about her dog, I heard about her sister, I heard about sunglasses she took off a rack at a store-- multiple topics that jumped around quickly as well. 3.Not sure what the scent was at the time of the massage, but this was not something that I preferred--I realize that this point is more subjective of an experience and that others may be fine with the scent--this point did NOT contribute to the star rating. -I got this massage in 2017. They simply use their knuckles their fists or their elbows depending how bad of a knot you have in that area where the pressure points lie. They go over your whole body as well. Not just the back. They'll stretch out your arms they'll do your shoulders, your neck, your head, you can get your feet soaked and toxins removed out of you with cupping. Do not be fooled by the little tiny Chinese women you will see working here. They will hurt you if you want it to be like that. I like it as hard as possible because it's more of a medical thing for me where I'm trying to get the most bang for my buck. Whatever pain I can push through, no pun intended, I grit my teeth and I let them hit the spot really deep. Yeah for the next 5 hours I'm sore but after that. But it's a good pain actually. Kind of like working out . You know it's going to pay off in the long run if you can just push through . Sometimes things got to get worse before they get better, you know? I don't know why God made us that way cuz it seems counterintuitive if something's already hurting on your body to make it hurt even more in order to get it to heal but thank you China for figuring this kind of stuff out for us people in the rest of the western world . So yeah, you're a bit sore but your mood will be uplifted where you'll be feeling a natural high and you'll feel loose . It's a weird feeling but it's a really good one it's just hard to explain. After that wears off you will definitely notice later that night You WILL FEEL BRAND NEW! Therefore, I can't recommend this place enough! If you've never had a massage done like this, you don't even know what you're missing! I feel sorry for you. You're really missing out seriously. It helps so freaking much and it feels amazing. They are clean and professional and respectful. Depending on which service you ask for whether it's a 20 or 30 minute service it's pretty much a dollar per minute. I go with a 45 minute service and I flip them 10 or 15 bucks or even 21 time for the tip because they really deserve that. They do an incredible job. Felt like that time should have been made up. My second issues was: they laid me flat on my back. That's a no no for a pregnant woman. I began to feel nauseous laying flat on my back and my baby began to hurt more! The reason was their beds don't raise to accommodate a growing baby belly. So I asked the therapist to let me change positions. She obliged but mentioned she would need to change her massage plan. Prior to this experience I had 2 other prenatal massages and neither one laid me on my back. I would suggest they get beds that can be adjusted to better position to accommodate a growing pregnant belly. Also the spa is located in an office building on the lower level.
