I made my daughter an appointment here and she absolutely didn't like it. While she was in her car someone came up to her in her car asked if she had an appointment my daughter said yes she asked her to come down. She felt very uncomfortable and could hear cooking and others speaking but in Chinese. Then the lady providing the massage spoke no English and the door wasn't shut. My daughter was so scared she didn't know what was going on the lady wasn't massaging it was more of a rub too. I have never had a negative experience here, and have been a regular client for 3 years. I have made an appointment, via text (Yes, there are some who work here that there is a language barrier, get over it. You're able to schedule through text or even online.) Most often, I just walk in. I have only been unable to get service at the time I walked in twice. Once, I needed to wait 30 minutes, another time I scheduled for the next day. Of the 40+ times I've been there, I'd say those ratios are pretty fantastic. In the past few years, there have been multiple upgrades/additons to their business, including raising up the walls (bonus! the sound dampening is noticed and appreciated!); previous reviews mention overhearing chatter and other happenings, I'd like to point out that this is no longer the case. They have a small waiting area, they play relaxing music or sounds, everything is clean, lights are all on dimmers, and its QUIET. I waited in my room and couldn't even hear the specifics of a conversation on the other side of the wall. I've been here before the walls were done, and had to step out and ask loudly-chattering sauna go-ers to lower their voices because it was interrupting my experience. So appreciate the investment in my relaxation!! If you elect to get a package that includes a vichy shower experience, let me be the one to tell you: you will be wearing disposable unders, feel naked the whole time (You're covered, just barely, but relax!) and no one is going to walk you through it and try to make you feel more comfortable. That being said, it feels incredible and you should really step out of your comfort zone and relax while the water gently runs over your body. If you don't regularly get a massage, you should know that while the point is to quietly relax into the pressure applied to your achy, tight body, you will have to speak up and tell your masseuse what you do and don't enjoy. You can receive a gentle rub or an intense-leave-you-sore massage, these girls can do it all! That to me makes this spa all the more attractive, no matter what you're looking for in a body-massage, you can get that here. Their consistency through an entire 90 or 120 minute full body massage is impressive. I've been other places where I can tell towards the end, their hands are tired. Maybe it's because they will use hands, arms, elbows, feet, etc.. but I don't detect even a hint of exhaustion. Even up to the last hour of the day (which, did you notice? They are open until 9pm, every day.) I consider any kind of personal service to require a tip. This isn't something you provide as an extra thank-you, it's expected. While some may feel offended or off-put by the request for either payment up-front or being asked for a tip.. Don't be. There are many patrons who will try to negotiate the price of their massage based on their level of satisfaction or not tip at all thinking it's appropriate. The service costs what it costs, pay that price. 20% is the standard for tipping, if you leave no tip whatsoever, you're the one being rude. If you would like to leave less of a tip so as you feel your dissatisfaction is communicated, leave 15% and move on. You are allowed to request more or less pressure, as many times as you need to. If you do not take control of your own massage experience and your voice is only heard when it comes to the payment? You are responsible. All in all, I have found everything I could want in this spa experience. I will continue to be a regular patron and recommend them to everyone I talk to. Don't do it! We wanted a spa day & specifically looked for a vichy shower. We should have trusted our instincts & booked elsewhere. I'll walk you through the HIGHLIGHTS of our visit starting with the reservation process. Nothing could be set up via phone conversation. When I tried calling, someone would pick up then immediately hang up & text me. We ended up texting back & forth trying to figure out packages & pricing. It was very confusing. In the end of the process, my best friend & I had scheduled ​​a 2 hr full body massage, a 1 hr foot massage, a body wrap followed by a body scrub ending with a vichy shower. We put a deposit down & showed up for our 5/13, 11 am, appointment 30 minutes early. When we arrived they didn't ask our names. We were hastily directed into a room right off the lobby & told to get on the beds. Two women came in to perform the massages. This is where it gets BAD... stay with me because if I had not experienced this I would think it was a fake review. In the 1st 20 minutes of the massage, my friends masseuse left our room 3 times to wait on customers in the lobby. Our room door was left open even though we were laying on the beds right in front of it barely covered by a sheet the size of a beach towel. The 3rd tim she came back in, her personal cell phone was shoved I to my face so I could talk to the manager. We were told we had to leave the massage room so they could do facials for a customer in the lobby. We were offered use of the sauna "for free" while we waited. My friend & I are easy going so we agreed to wait. They took us to the sauna which was cold, in the middle of an open hallway and no bigger than 5x5. We sat there for about 15 minutes while random people walked by looking at us. We were taken back to our room to continue the massage. After laying down again, we heard a man's voice now in our room. Apparently ​my friend was going to be massaged by two people now. For the remainder of the massage, the door opened & closed multiple times. When my time was up I was given a paper bra & panty set for the wrap/ scrub. I was taken into the shower room, told to lay down on a pool mat placed on top of a teak table. I'm covered in massage oil & the mat was wet. Slippery is an understatement. My masseuse directed the shower water over me then proceeded to use her hands to wash my body with a lavender body wash. She left the shower room at least 4 times put of various doors and would randomly appear through another door. Eventually I was told to go through a sliding glass door & lay down. Ar this point I should have left but it was kinda like driving by an accident. You don't want to look but morbid curiosity gets the best of you. She uses a paintbrush of sorts to paint me with a thick salve of some sort then wraps me up in an emergency blanket type wrap before leaving me. When I hear her voice again, I hear my friends at the same time. The pool mat was not washed or sanitized before my friend was told to lay down. Once she received her body wash (not sugar scrub) treatment she was rolled to go sit in the room with me until my treatment was done. My friend is wet and freezing with just the paper underwater set to cover her. We are literally looking at each other saying "wtf". My masseuse comes out & tells me to go back into the shower room to rinse off. In the meantime, she removed my emergency blanket & put a new one down. My friend laid down & was painted using not only the SAME BRUSH but also the SAME BOWL of salve. After 10 minutes of rinsing off, I ask if I can leave. I'm told to "go" and left to wander around looking for my room. When I go back inside I'm unsure if I'm done with treatments as there was ZERO communication with us about our process. I laid down on the bed & recovered with the wet sheet towel. Without even knocking a man walked in & started rubbing my feet and legs. No introduction & he didn't bother closing the door. About 20 minutes in, my friend returns to get her water bottle. She then sits outside the room, in the lobby area, until my foot massage is done. The man leaves. She comes in. We dress. No one could speak English well enough to discuss the lack of privacy, missing treatments or overall dissatisfaction we experienced. In the end, we paid what was owed and left incredulous. I have a hard time believing these actions are not normal for this business. It seemed to be second nature. If this review says one person from a horrible experience here then it was worth all of the typing. As I said earlier, these are just the highlights of our experience. I read a review on Yelp and thought I might like to give them a try. Located in the northwest corner of 22 Mile and Schoenherr, they were relatively easy to find. I called ahead and was told they would be open until 9pm (on New Year's Eve), and I didn't need to make an appointment. Walk-ins are fine. The business photos are fairly accurate. Once I arrived at the little strip mall at their location, I walked in the front door and immediately recalled the fireplace photo. Lighting is subdued, the interior of the business is very well finished, warm and inviting. Rooms are partitioned off with 8 foot walls, but the interior ceiling is probably 12 feet high. Their background music provides a calming effect. The woman that greeted me at the front desk asked how they could help me. I told her I had been to their website and wanted a deep tissue massage. I also mentioned that I read about the jade massage table and wanted to try it out. After figuring out that I didn't want a jade stone massage, but instead wanted to try their infrared jade massage bed, there was a lot of chatter between 3 Asian women that worked there. They finally understood that I wanted the massage bed treatment first, followed by a 1 hour massage. I paid up front for the services, and was led to the area of 3 massage beds for my first treatment. They selected one of two beds that are nestled behind a half-wall. After setting up the bed for a 20 minute session, I was instructed to remove my shoes and lie down on my back. A tethered pod of some sort was handed to me, and I was told to place it on my stomach for warmth. Every so often during the 20 minute treatment, the multiple nodules on the pod would light up. The massage bed had rollers that would work up and down both my back, and my legs. I found that my naturally wide stance meant I would constantly have to put my ankles together to receive the full roller treatment for my calf muscles. Other rollers worked up and down my back and legs, sometimes pausing, then starting again according to the electronic programming. With the half-walls surrounding me, I could hear other customers speaking after they completed their treatments, and there was the occasional masseuse chatter as well. All in all, it was a pleasurable experience (sadly, I went back to the website just before writing this review and noticed I paid for a 30 minute session, but was only given 20 minutes). After the massage bed treatment, I was directed to Room 2. I entered the room and recognized the massage table with head support that I am so familiar with. My masseuse left me to disrobe. After doing so, I laid face down on the table and awaited her return. Soon she came back. She asked if I wanted a hard or medium massage and I replied 'hard'. She climbed up on the table and started in on me. After less than a minute, I heard the electronic chimes go off for the front door. My masseuse climbed down and departed. Apparently she was the one who also needed to greet customers. She spoke with the customer and I heard the door chimes a couple more times before my masseuse returned. At that point, hearing no other customers and nobody else for that matter, I figured out that she was probably left alone to take care of business. The same scenario would occur 2 more times, with each interruption taking about 5 minutes. The massage itself was very, very good. Without me saying anything about the sore areas, my masseuse was able to identify and work them out. With suspended poles overhead providing support, she walked on my back and legs, delivering the much appreciated pressure needed to work over my sore muscles. When she was done with my back, she performed a short scalp massage, then asked me to roll over. Once on my back, I received a mini-facial and some continued massage on my arms and legs. This was one of the best massages I have ever received. Her obvious experience and expertise were well displayed. Once the massage was complete, I dressed and noticed that as I was leaving, I had been in the room a few minutes short of an hour. With undressing and dressing time, and 3 interruptions, I estimate that I received about 45 minutes of actual massage time. Being that this is a 'spa', they also offer other services as listed on their website, none of which I tried. I guess I'm not much of a 'spa guy'. Detractors: The sounds from the front entrance, other customers and such, were definitely distracting and each time I heard them, my relaxation level diminished. In spite of the higher rates for services, I would have afforded a 5-star review had it not been for the shorter massage sessions, noise and interruptions in my massage. read more

While searching groupon, I came across this place. I was hesitant due to its location being so far from my house. However, it was for my birthday so I figured what the heck. My package included the sauna, shower and massage. The outside of the place was nothing special but as soon as you step into the door you feel relaxed. I was greeted by the secretary. She was very sweet. I was given water and a towel. My first stop was the sauna. The sauna is petite and intimate which was good for me. If I wanted to sweat with strangers, I would have went to the gym. I stayed in for about 10 minutes because my freshly pressed hair would not allow any longer. You have the option to adjust the temperature for whatever needs you have. Second stop was the shower. I felt like royalty. I had a real "Coming to America" experience in the shower. They scrub your non personal areas with moisturizing soap (both sides) and the waterfall hits your body afterwards. It was really amazing. I was shy at first. Lastly, the massage was amazing. I've had many deep tissue massages and this was amazing. I can't even describe how good it was except I'll make this one hour drive occasionally because it was that good read more

And I'm glad she knows it too. :) I just got back from a week long Vegas trip from work, and surprised me with a groupon for a spa package at Relaxing Waters Spa. She handed it to me, gave me the phone number and told me to schedule it for this week. After being on my feet for all of last week and then jumping planes around to get home... I was all about some relaxation. My first odd point about it was trying to schedule the appointment... you call them, and then they asked me to text my information to a different number, so that they could have the information 'readily available to check their schedules'. So, of course they wanted me to take down a number, but I couldn't due to driving. *shrug* Called back, got scheduled... and before I could ask any questions as to what the spa package was... they had hung up. I didn't know exactly what the spa package consisted of. I didn't know what to be prepared for. A massage? A facial? Eh. I guess I was going to find out. I had to drive around the parking lot for 2 laps before I saw that the spa was located on the east side of the building, not really visible from the front of the rest of the mall. I walked in... and was greeted by a handful of people... all kinda giving me that look of 'Oh, big guy going to spa'. I was shown to my room, and was given a robe, flip flops, and was even given some new bottoms. It was at this point I made sure to ask just what the groupon was good for. A sauna, body scrub, massage, and facial. I had only cleared my schedule off for an hour and a half... I quickly learned that it wasn't going to be enough time. I changed, and a bonus for me was the fact that they had flip flops for people who wear size 14! :) (It's the little things in life) and was escorted over to the sauna. Now, I'm not a big fan of saunas, but.. this one wasn't too bad. It wasn't too overly hot, and once I got settled in, the heat then started kicking in. It was a good relaxing sweat, and I swear I could have almost fallen asleep in there. Next thing I knew, there was a lady knocking on the door telling me to follow her. I followed her, into a giant shower room. I was instructed to lay face down, and I soon started to feel the scrub portion of the day going on. It was actually very relaxing for me. That was... until I had turned my head and realized there was another associate from the spa there. She asked, "How you like scrub?" I replied "Very good, thank you." She then started talking to the lady performing the scrub.. but not in a language I could understand. I tried to not pay attention and to relax.. but it was just a little strange to me. I didn't know if she was a supervisor.. or just what was going on. After the scrub... was the massage. And this was by far the best part. My masseuse ended up using the bars mounted to the ceiling to help get balance and put her whole body into getting the right spots. She worked my neck, back, and shoulders until I was jello. I had never experienced such a great feeling... but I can tell you that was fantastic. It was a very thorough massage, in that she didn't seem to be rushing much at all, and made sure to spend equal amounts of time around my body. Which I enjoy. She claimed that I had bought a groupon and used it prior to my appointment this morning and I even brought out my groupon account and showed I've never purchased from them before. My first visit there I paid full price for a package and was rudely interrupted by Michelle DURING my massage to ask for my credit card to be charged an additional $20 because the man working upfront charged me wrong. Amy is amazing and I feel a lot better after the two times I have been there, but management needs to be trained in simple manners at the least. I had the best massage of my life there. I had just gotten back from walking around Las Vegas for a week and was so stiff and arthritic that I called and asked if they could do a deep tissue massage immediately and they said yes so I went right in. There were two ladies working behind the desk and we had a really hard time communicating but once I explained that I had to pay with a credit card and wanted a deep tissue massage everything was fine I then went into a massage room and they told me to lay facedown and there was a towel on the table so after I laid face down I put the towel over the top of me. Amy started massaging me and then the next thing I knew she was using bars to kneel on my back and give me the most amazing back massage I've ever had. At some point the other lady came in to the room and both were massaging me at the same time. It felt a little awkward at first, but it was such an amazing massage I finally relaxed and just enjoyed myself. When I went in there I was stiff and could hardly walk without a terrible limp. I came out of there just walking perfectly smooth no aches or pains at all on my body. While they were working on my back they put hot towels on my back which was a new experience for me and felt amazing!! I definitely got what I went in there for and although it was a little bit awkward at first I would definitely go back there again!! read more

My wife and I purchased a groupon as a Christmas gift for ourselves and booked a 9am appointment on a Sunday. There was no one else there and the place felt very intimate and private. The building did not seem "sketchy" despite other reviewers opinions about it, it's a small spa in a strip mall in a nice part of town. No big language issues with the employees and it wasn't hard to understand the directions for what we were doing. Our package included 20 minutes in the infrared sauna, a body scrub in the vichy shower, full body deep tissue massage, and a mini facial. 1. The sauna was a small little booth with a glass door, two benches, and two chairs. It was nice and intimate and a great way to start the morning. 2. Next they took us into the vichy shower room one at a time. The shower itself has seven shower heads on a long pole suspended above a padded bed. They spray you down with hot water and apply the body scrub one side at a time. The scrub felt and smelled amazing and the shower aspect was incredibly relaxing. 3. I've never had a massage before but I was still blown away at how good this deep tissue massage was. I specifically asked her to concentrate on my lower back and shoulders and she did. They also ask what intensity they should use beforehand so you know how much pressure will be applied. I asked for intense and it was (in a good way). 4. Finally they did a mini facial which was a nice way to end the experience. Very relaxing. Overall my wife and I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Relaxing Waters and we already decided we'll be booking again in a month or two. We really enjoyed our time here yesterday. The place looks a little sketchy from the outside and deceivingly small, but open the door and you're in a large, well decorated oasis. I used the text line to schedule, bit was easy and response time was good. The gals are Asian and have rather broken English in person though, but there were no communication conflicts at all. We did the package with the infrared sauna, body scrub with Vichy shower, and full body massage. They provide everything you need, all very clean, disposable, etc. No cross contamination issues at all. The scrub is amazing. Quality products, quality service. The WORST experience ever. Masseuse is playing on her phone during the session. I asked her to put it away after 10mins of her on the phone. To which she doesn't apologize or say anything. The final 5 minutes of the session is when she puts in more pressure and does a proper massage. It's aggravating when you pay $80 for something and you're dissatisfied, because you can't ask for a refund at that point. It gets worse from here. Since I was dissatisfied with the massage, the attitude, and her playing in her phone, I decided not to tip. When she asked for a tip I put in $5, even though I don't want to but I did since it was the 4th of July, because honestly, $80 for a massage is eye gouging and that too when it's a sub-par disinterested masseuse, it's even worse. At this point she got mad because I wasn't tipping her and started screaming at me. I was shocked beyond disbelief that some one would scream at a customer for not tipping(which she didn't deserve!). This is where it gets from bad to SHOCKING. I get in my car, she walks up to my car, I roll down the window with a sinking feeling that this isn't going to go well. She calls me an ass and started complaining that I didn't tip her. Yes. She did that. A masseuse cussing at a customer outside the business because she wasn't tipped well for doing a shitty job. This is when I threatened to call the police on her as this was harassment at this stage. I'm beyond wonder how this place is still running with such higher prices and such weird staff. If the massage itself was good, believe me , I would have tipped her very well. That would not be an issue at all. If there is a bureau that oversees these places, they would definitely need to investigate this. I'm done. If anyone from this establishment tries to spin a different story and try explaining it away please do so. I bought a massage and facial for my mom's birthday and was so excited for her since she always wanted to go but never got the chance. Instead of having a relaxing time, she was harassed multiple times for tipping (including text messages)!! She tipped 20% and still received frowns and bickering. If you need to force your clients to tip, you must re-think your practices and look at the services you provide. On the other hand, salon was clean, massage and facial were enjoyable, however customer service needs improvement. read more

I was then asked to merely sign the form.Therapist interrupted my 60 minute massage three times by leaving the room. My door was left open about a foot the whole time. Massage was 50 minutes on my stomach repeating same areas several times. A rushed 10 minutes on my back after I raised up off of the table to rotate. Got a great deal through groupon and I love groupon so no disrespect there. Purchased the Relaxation Package and believe me, it wouldn't take much to relax me as I have kids and am seldom ever to get out alone. Just getting out of the house and in a car solo was nice, unfortunately that was the nicest part of the experience. I arrived about 10 minutes prior to my appointment. As I walked in a man was on the couch and a lady behind the front counter. I guess they are husband and wife and also the owners. Her name was Michelle, I don't remember the mans name. I told them I had a 4:30 appointment and the man on the couch jumped up and went and stood behind the counter by his wife. I then received an earful about how I "hacked" their computer scheduling system and scheduled myself my own appointment! What?! The man was sticking around until I arrived just to ask me how I scheduled my own appointment. Yes I did schedule my own appointment as I explained to the wide eyed owners that it was an option on their website. I had to explain how I did it and where it was at. I told them that I received an email confirmation from them confirming my appointment as well so I figured all was good. Other businesses use it so I thought it was legit. Under the massage services on their website, the last option under Contact Us was Schedule an Appointment Online. I clicked on that option and it asked if I had a groupon and since I did, it prompted me to continue. It was pretty thorough in asking what package I purchased, what type of massage I wanted and even what type of music and therapist I wanted to see. I would rather schedule things online and receive an online confirmation any day than try to call, wait, spell my name a few times and hope for the best that when I arrived that I arrived at the right place and for the correct package. The owners told me that I was the first person to ever use the "schedule your appointment online" tool so they were not expecting an appointment to appear and even suggest that I show them how I did it and that I must be some expert in IT. No offense but my 6 year old could have booked it online for me. I offered at least three times to come back another day but each time they said no, you are fine, all is good, they were just surprised etc... The husband then left to go to some store and would soon return he said. I was led by Michelle to a private room to change into throw away underwear and panties and a towel with a pair of plastic shoes/slippers. I felt like I was changing and waiting for my womanly physical. Still optimistic, she knocked on the door, asked if I was ready and then led me to the hall where the see through sauna sat. Remove shoes, put towel down and sit on the top bench she told me and stated that someone will be joining me soon, that's why I needed to sit on the top. I did as I was told and indeed about 3 minutes later I was joined by another customer. We were facing opposing ways so she had plenty of crotch pics if I ever felt relaxed enough to relax my legs. After which seemed like too long in 147f heat, both the other lady and myself looked at each other and asked the same thing. How long do we need to stay in this uncomfortable heat box? Do we just get out, do we wait for someone to come and get us? We both decided to just get out. Michelle looked at us both and said " we only have one shower for the body scrub so you (pointing to me) will need to wait until the other lady has her treatment and is showered. She then insisted that I wait in the sauna. I refused to go back in there so she offered me a water and gave me the option to wait in the massage room. I was a bit confused as to why I was in the sauna longer than the other lady and she wanted me to get back in there. Finally it was my turn for the body scrub and shower and I started to become optimistic. The Vichy shower was nice! Michelle rubbing what felt like simple body wash on my skin and asking every few moments "nice right?" and "feels good" was a bit awkward but what I really came for was the much needed massage, relaxing and quiet time. After that I went back to my room and laid face down waiting with excitement for the massage. Michelle came in and reminded me that she does not do Groupon customers but since her husband was not back she would start on me. When I scheduled the appointment they asked if I had a preference in a male or female masseuse so I indicated female. Yelp said to wrap this up so Massage started and between Michelle answering her phone to the ring tone "You are my Sunshine" which offset the Zen music and her talking about me to her husband it was very hard to relax. I mentioned to please focus on my back but butt and legs were her priority. I was face down and legs spread open when her husband walked right in! I then felt his hands on me as well. My massage and overall experience was nice. I don't think it was as awful as some of the previous reviewers said... English wasn't either of the employees first language Im pretty sure. I had to ask a couple questions because things weren't explained the best. But the interior was nice and calming. I started in the sauna, then the shower which was different but relaxing, and then a one hour massage with Amy. She did a great job and loosened a lot of knots and worked on my sore spots, without me pointing them out to her. They don't have you get under a sheet which was different but they keep you covered with a towel the whole time. For the shower they gave me a bra and thong, disposable under garments. They were exposing but I felt comfortable with the woman who bathed me (that sounds kind of funny, but the shower was pretty cool). In the middle of the massage she left the room but didn't say anything. I thought she was done and got up, but realized it had only been 30 minutes. She came back in and saw me up, and apologized. She had gone to get hot towels turns out. The walls were kind of thin, I could hear someone two rooms over, the door bell chimed a few times and could hear people talking, and the business next door was playing loud music which was just a little distracting at times. I used a Groupon for my package, which was about 50% off. I'd say there regular prices might be a little high for the whole experience. But overall I was happy with my visit and would consider returning if I didn't pay full price again. read more

I got the ultimate package from Groupon I was very impressed from the start . I went on Halloween morning. The sauna was great followed by the Vinchy shower . The massage started great. But because the therapist was the only one working she had to answer the phone during the massage. She also had to tend to the 4 customers that came in during. This was my first spa experience. My bf bought me that ultimate spa experience which consists of a 60 minute deep tissue massage, facial, body scrub and time in a sauna. I got there 10 minutes late but they had the room ready and took me right away. As soon as you walk in, it smells very nice and the soft music they have is very soothing. I absolutely loved every second of being here. I paid $10 extra to get the hot stone massage and I'm so happy I did. Get the body scrub, you'll love it. The massage is a must. It took around 2 hours for everything. They provide water for you and take really good care of you. I'm a female in my early 20s but I seen an older man there and other women of different ages. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. I have NEVER complained about a business but this experience was BAD. My first experience was great, my second one was TERRIBLE. They messed up my appointment, so I got there and had taken off my clothes when they tell me they had issues with my appointment. 30 minutes later of me sitting around partially clothed and I find out that they never put it in the schedule. I received a gift certificate twice as a gift for this place and despite the fact that it says on the voucher that you can repurchase every 30 days, they said I couldn't use it. I was told to text the owner that my appointment was rescheduled for 11am since they were fully booked at 9. So I text her and she says that I need to pay an extra $20 to be seen on that day because it was "not enough notice". I told her I booked the appointment weeks ago with the text line that they provided and sent her screenshots proving that I did so. She still insisted that I needed to pay an extra $20 to use the groupon. So I pay the extra $20 because I had been looking forward to the massage for weeks. I go there, they rush through everything, the mini-facial was a massage of my face that gets taken out of the time of the 60 minute massage, and I go to leave because at this point I'm not happy and the lady insists that (after messing all this up, making me wait, making me come back, making me pay an extra $20, etc.) I give her a $20 TIP. I was beyond mad but just gave her the money to get the hell out of there. I told the OWNER and she makes no apologies and tries to argue with me. I bought The groupon for the ultimate package. I was a little nervous after reading some of the negative reviews, but decided to take a chance. Everyone who works there is nice and friendly. I don't feel like I was treated any different because of the groupon, which is nice. Amy was my massage therapist. Sauna was nice, everything was very clean there. Vichy shower was good, scrub was not very thorough. I feel like I can do a better job exfoliating myself but I'm sure the hot water loosens you up before the massage. So it's all good. Massage was the best part. I had mentioned on my form my upper back and shoulders and calves and she took care of those areas. She really worked my neck too which was a little sore at the time but felt amazing after. Facial was ok, but I've had better. I would say that this spa specializes in massage. I just left their for a couples massage and it was by far the worst massage I have ever received. My husband enjoyed his, as he should have but my experience was horrible. I was rubbed down with lotion and when I asked her to give me a strong Deep Tissue massage, she did not. I'm still in pain and did not get any of the kinks worked out in my shoulders or lower back which I asked for. My husband was stretched and received what he asked for. I on the other hand did not. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It was so bad that when I was asked to Turn over I did and watched the treatment my husband received. She turned his legs, massaged and slapped the necessary areas. It was so bad that I was jealous and envious of his treatment. He felt rejuvenated after and I was upset! I wasted 70 dollars after I was told there was a discount for first time massages. There was no difference in price and I felt bamboozled and lied to. This spa has really disappointed me today. I'm not one to complain or even write a bad review but I want to make sure everyone knows what this place is before they waste their money here. The women in here don't speak English at all.. ( not my main issue) but you can't communicate with them well at all. Then after they started on my boyfriends massage I say there for a good 5 minutes waiting for mine to come in. When she FINALY did and began the massage a women walks in telling "hello.... hello...." and the women giving us massages walked out to go help her. BOTH OF THEM. They were the only two women there and this other customer ( very rude herself). But so the ladies came back in and resumed our massages the one massaging my. Boyfriends phone kept ringing.. like the whole time.. meanwhile in the back you never stop hearing the out of control customer up front yelling for someone to please help her make an appointment. So FINALY we're through and we've not had the best massage either. (We get them every few months at different places). But this one was just ridiculous. You don't ever get a chance to relax. And it's EXPENSIVE. For such shitty service. So we were both disappointed but I figured they still deserve a tip so I went back up there and there turned to had been a third woman out there the whole time.. she tried to charge me A SECOND TIME. And I told her the tip amount I wanted to give and she scoffed and roller her eyes. So my boyfriend respectfully says so you're making faces after the service we received? And the woman at the counter starts arguing with him.. going back and forth her talking about the minimum amount we should give is $20 tip per person.... they're lucky they got a tip AT ALL! It was a few bucks under $200 just for our basic massages and they were not impressive. To top it all of the day I called to make an appointment the women told me it was going to be $110 then when we got there to pay it had jumped to $160??! Complete waste of money. Went for a $70 Lymphatic massage and basically received a terrible Swedish massage. I specifically told them I was there because I was experiencing terrible swelling from an arm surgery. The therapist barely massaged my arms. What type of spa does not provide a top sheet on the massage bed??? I was told to remove my cloths, lay face down and put the standard size TOWEL over my rear end. Several times the therapist left the room with the door OPEN as I lay there with my rear end completely exposed. At the end of my massage I had to ask for a wet towel as my body was drenched in what felt (and smelled) of sticky cheap olive oil. I informed the girl in the lobby that I could not have heat applied to my neck due to a medical condition, only ice. She scoffed and said that we believe things differently here, than they do in the East. Ummmmm???? Ok, but I believe my MD, here in the West is more qualified than your opinion. Of course, my therapist put a hot neck roll on my neck and now I am stiff/ in pain. Overall, I would rate my massage as the worst massage I have ever had in my life and I receive massage treatments monthly. It was impossible to relax due to the door chimes that went off every time the door opened or closed. You could hear every customer coming and going and there was constant conversation with the worker and whom I assume was the owner in the lobby. Oh, the best part was the tacky tip sign in the room, asking that I tip $20 for a $70 massage. Sorry, I don't tip more than the industry standard of 15-20% for a terrible experience.
