    Gel extensions. Military realness!

My dog broke my nail while we were traveling to Baton Rouge. I saw the reviews for Lavish and decided to give them a try. I originally just wanted to get my one nail fixed and said I would do the rest when I got back home. I asked if they took walk-ins and they said yes. I waited maybe 10 minutes, if that. Shae looked at my nail and said ok, I can fix it for you. She also asked if I wanted her to fill in the rest of my nails. I asked if she had time because they were very busy and she said yes, I can fill them in for you. She took her time and was very polite and did a great job on my nails. If I lived here, this would be my regular nail shop. They were very polite and accommodating and the atmosphere was great! Add some wine and it would be amazing

On one of my many trips to Baton Rouge I found this gem of a place. Lonnie did my nails and I have been absolutely in love with them. I showed her an inspo picture and she took the idea and brought it to life. My nails lasted four weeks before I took them off due to them being grown out already but they were still holding strong. I definitely recommend this place and will be going back when I'm back in town!

I was in town from Slidell and I wanted to get my nails fixed since I had broken 2 nails of the previous set. Let me tell you these women were so sweet! Absolutely loving my nails and will definitely be returning to get some Halloween nails!!

Went to Lavish after I had an unpleasant experience at Loyal Nail and Spa on Millerville. My nail tech was very sympathetic toward my situation and did a great job making me happy with my nails. Very comfortable environment as well. Will definitely be coming back here from now on!

If I could give this place a ZERO stars I would, but that's not possible. I used to go here faithfully about a year ago & loved their work. I have since found a BETTER place. My new salon was not open, so I decided to go here to get an overlay fill & pedicure.. (My nails needed to be done desperately.) I am current 8 month pregnant and could go into labor at anytime!!! My service started off ok, seemed like they really didn't want to service me, they talked very loudly amongst each other the entire time. My pedi came out ok. The lady who did my hands started on them while I was getting my pedi.. I noticed when she was taking my gel polish off she had drilled my nails to an awful shape (I should I stopped her there) I sat down in the chair and had to ask her to cut my nails down, she acted like she didn't want to or couldn't do that. I had to TELL her I liked short SQUARE SQUARE nails. She then proceeded to cut my nails with very dull nasty clippers. That left my nails very jagged & uneven. When she started filing my nails she wasn't even trying (I once again should have stopped her there) I had to ask her multiple times to go back & fill in on certain nails to make them look even, as to which she would catch an attitude & start yanking & throwing my hands around. She was very rude & dismissive if I knew her name I would put it in this review. I ended up stopping her when she did my second coat of gel polish because I was over it and READY TO GO! I will insert pictures of my nails, all of them are different shapes. I also noticed while I was there one of the lady's doing another woman's nails went to the bathroom & did not wash her hands when she came out. You might say how do I know that she didn't wash her hands, well when she came out of the bathroom, before she started back & finished the woman's nails she sprayed her hands w/ the alcohol. I'm usually a very good tipper in my opinion, and I did plan on tipping, but my last straw was when I paid she decided to lay my change out on the counter as if I didn't put the money directly into her hand. ZERO OUT OF 10. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Overall was not a bad experience, but shape could have been better. A couple nails turned out shorter than the others, and others had varying thickness.

She even apologized for not immediately greeting me due to taking a phone call. That is how customer service is done! The other woman standing next to her had no excuse. I waited in the waiting area for about ten minutes. The decor was nice and not overdone. I was called back to a station and waited for a little more than ten minutes. There was music playing and TVs playing without sound; I wished they added the captions because otherwise, what is the point of the TV-- many people do not read lips. I met my technician. She was not particularly welcoming and was not a conversationalist as I have experienced elsewhere. However, I could see she was experienced with her craft. I mentioned an allergy that kept me from using certain products. I also mentioned a medical condition. Though I do not think the condition was understood, as it was not acknowledged or questioned for explanation, it actually did not become a problem during the session. As an introvert, I was hoping the stations were going to be a little spread a part. They were not. I appreciated the purse hook to avoid sitting the purse on the floor, though! Some salons do not have sinks for handwashing, but this salon does, which I like. No beverage was offered. No greetings or smiles from other staff members passing by during the wait. This is the first salon of this size that I have visited that has a small selection of polish colors, gel and non-gel. I was actually shocked. We settled on the American tip. I loved how the technician shaped my nails and exercised care during the manicure. No dust collector was used during filing, though-- I definitely had to clean my nose at home after breathing all that. I loved her attention to the cuticle work and hangnail cleanup. However, when she asked if I was liking the tips, I affirmed but asked if she thought the tips should be extended to cover my natural tips. She said no, and they were good. I took her professional opinion. I did not feel rushed until it was time to dry. She added something to my nails at the drying station, and I felt okay until my fingers started itching towards the end of drying. I also wondered why I needed UV. The itching worsened while in my vehicle leaving, which is when I noticed with the sunlight the negative space between the smile line and drawn tips. Jeez. It was about an hour before I could get home and get some hydrocortisone cream for my fingers. That was not a mistake. I cleaned polish from underneath two nails and tried to fix one tip on my right hand.
