Be aware! We rented a house in Oahu with Lavish Getaways and it was a very bad experience. The house was not what they published on the website. It was a total chaos when we arrived (dirty, bad maintenance, painting, etc.). After many emails, phone calls, and complains they simply stop answering our request and did not give us any explanation or solution. Would NOT recommend booking ANYTHING with them. Stay far far away from the Ali'i Zen Haven in Kaneohe. It's was a horrible experience and ruined our entire trip. Nothing like running out of propane, not having anywhere to put your garbage because the bin is full the day you snow up, the house has a mold/leak problem, the patio furtive were dirty..the list could go on. We spent a glorious week at Moani Kai which was one of the most beautiful and well maintained vacation rentals I have ever experienced. First, the beach at Malaekahana Bay is three miles of beautiful desolate sandy beach with small waves and completely protected from the fierce breaks of the north shore. The house has recently been completely remodeled with resort quality linens and very comfortable 6 bedrooms. It is located on lush 1 acre lawn with paddle tennis court, hot tub overlooking the ocean and two kitchens so the parents stayed upstairs and the kids and grandkids stayed downstairs. There is a beautiful dining pavilion reminiscent of a Tuscany outdoor dining area with string lights all over looking the ocean. There is a hidden sun tan/massage deck that is next to the ocean but allows privacy to sunbathe in complete privacy. And there is a colorful hammock that we spent hours in enjoying the sound of the breaking surf. The house is well equipped with beach equipment, lounge chairs, boogie boards, children toys who used them in the massive yard next to the ocean. There are two master bedrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs and both have sliding floor to ceiling glass doors overlooking the ocean. We loved the charming caretaker who arranged for private chefs and massages at no extra charge (except a generous tip which she deserved). We loved our nightly bonfires under the moonlit skies. It was a wonderful and authentic Hawaiian vacation. It is the country and not the four seasons. But Malaekahana Bay is Hawaii's best kept secret where most of the houses are owned by the old families of Honolulu for their beach homes. Can't wait to return. I can't think of a better way to experience old Hawaii away from the glitz of Waikiki and a place to enjoy the very special Hawaii we all dream about. read more

Beware!!!! We rented 2 units in Maui from this company, after we left I got an email saying that we had chipped a tile in the shower and they were getting an estimate for repair. I was vacationing with 5 other adults and everyone said there was no damage when we left, I think someone would have noticed if we cracked a tile. I emailed them back several times saying that with no response. Several weeks later I get a notice saying that they had withdrawn $290. I never received an estimate or even a reply. This place is a rip-off! everywhere you look in the units there are signs threatening to charge $50 so we were very careful so as not to get charged. While we were there there was a terrible smell in one of the units and the fan displayed a message saying to change the filter. I called twice and was told there was nothing they could other than spray Fabreeze! read more

This review is for property #50269 - Sunset Hideaway Unit 2 (3bed) Haleiwa, which is also listed as #474021 Sunset Hideaway (5bed). Both listings are on VRBO. The property is also listed on trip advisor as well as other sites. Summary - This unit was Infested with Roaches, Gecko's, and Animal Feces. Lavish Getaways advertised themselves as the property manager but they are not and proved useless as did the actual property manager. The unit was not kid friendly and they tried to extort reviews from us... Read on for the details. The moment we walked in the door we knew we had made a mistake in renting this property. There were roaches and gecko's crawling on the floor, walls, and refrigerator. There was animal feces on top of the refrigerator, and roach traps (clearly not affective) strewn throughout the unit. This was certainly not what we expected for the almost $6,000 that I paid for the unit. My wife was almost in tears. It was that bad. In addition, before renting we were told that one of the house rules was "turn off the air conditioning before leaving the unit". This led us to believe that the unit had A/C. Imagine our surprise as the unit was 90+ degrees and there was no thermostat. Regarding this issue, Devin stated that those were "generic house rules". This can't possibly be true as one of the other rules was "leave sand at the beach and use the outdoor shower in the backyard". Sounds very specific to me. We made the best of it and opened all of the windows and turned on all of the fans. This helped, but another huge issue was uncovered. Many of the windows did not have screens. No wonder it had become a motel for roaches, gecko's and countless other creatures who kindly left their droppings behind. First thing the next morning we called Lavish Getaways, who is advertised as the property manager, to try to get this situation rectified. We quickly found out that they are not the manager and they were useless in helping us get any of these issues resolved. We were contacted by Devin (the property owner's brother). He was nice and said he'd get these issues rectified straight away.... It was not until EIGHT DAYS LATER that the bug issue was partly addressed. I say partly because Terminix did come out again. The gentleman expressed to us how bad the place was and then said that there was not much he could do because there were no screens in the windows. He sprayed where he could and left us more traps. In addition to the aforementioned issues we also noted the following: the stairway up to the unit was very dark and the lights did not (use caution); several of the guard rails on the balcony were not secure and one was even tied on with a shoelace (keep your small children off the balcony); there were a few holes in the walls that were stuffed with toilet paper; finally, the refrigerator and washing machine did not work properly (these were addressed in 2 days). Like I said, we made the best of it for the remainder of our trip. My kids had had roaches crawl on them at night and refused to sleep in the bedrooms...they slept on the couch for most of the trip. We continued to try to work with Devin but that proved fruitless as the screens were never repaired. Lavish Getaways was absolutely useless...they have no power and simply process your reservation. Following check out we requested a 25% discount, which we felt was reasonable, and were refused. We were told that we would be offered 6% ($400) if we didn't leave any reviews of our experience. Is that ethical? We paid more in tax than they offered us for all of our trouble and they were very obstinate. Devin even went down the path of telling us a sob story about how high his brothers mortgage was and how much his payments were. These guys have some nerve. These people are not about hospitality or treating their guests fairly. They are all about making money and nothing more. read more

Trash Getaway! We rented a Condo from these people for our latest vacation and this was a mistake. We paid for cleaning...the place was full of trash when we arrived. The oven was dirty the floors were gross the counters too. The glass coffee table had glass chipped out of it so we had to cover with blanket. Worst of all these people don't care, they will not refund your cleaning money. There was broken glass all over! There was grime about 1/4" thick on the ceiling fan. They just don't care. Find a better place to rent from because Lavish Getaways are anything but. read more

I rented a condo through this company with a Sunday check in. The company sent me an email that my check in time was after 4:00 pm on the Sunday, and I needed to call the caretaker to get access information for the property. I arrived on Sunday and tried to contact the caretaker. I was unable to get a hold of Lavish Getaways or the caretaker all day Sunday, so I was unable to get into the property. I got ahold of the caretaker the next day and was told that Lavish Getaways misinformed me, and they should have given me the access code earlier. I contacted Lavish Getaways and they denied responsibility and would not refund me the over $600.00 I paid for the condo for the first night, which I couldn't get access to the property due to their error. I would never recommend their company for another vacation. read more

I wanted to give an excellent review to owners of the Pineapple house that I booked through Lavish Getaways..We booked a beach house for several days and about 3 weeks before our arrival, we had a death in the family and we could no longer attend. There is usually a strict policy that there is no refund 60 days prior to arrival, but they were kind enough to give us a full refund. On behalf of our family, we thank you!!! Please do not rent from Lavish. I rented a house ("Waterfront Beach House") that was advertised as peaceful and quiet and it was not disclosed that it was on a very busy highway, and worse yet, across the street from a pack of 30+ dogs that bark all night long. No rest is possible here. I called Lavish immediately after spending the first awful night, but they refused to provide a new property or any refund. They say they are not really responsible because they property is managed by another person, Arish Riordan, and he/she also refused to provide any help. I rented this in good faith to relax with my partner who has stage 4 metastatic cancer --and they KNEW this. Please don't go through what I have. Despite all attempts to resolve this fairly, they refuse. read more

We rented a home from Lavish Getaways on Oahu and had a great experience! They did exactly what they were supposed to do, they answered questions about the house and took payment. Later, I received my email of who to contact while I was on island, the address, things to do nearby, etc. I think there is a misunderstanding by other reviewers, but I was told they only book the houses and owners are in charge of taking care of the house. Overall, I enjoyed my experience! Emails were prompt and overall very nice to work with. read more

We recently rented Moani Kai for 7 days beginning 12/20/15. In general the property is extremely substandard and ill maintained. The divergence between our experience and the reviews of the property listed in the Lavish Getaways website is shocking and puts the credibility of the reviews in question. That is why I have taken to Yelp. I rented the property a year in advance and was promised beds for 15 people, which did not materialize. As we got closer and closer to our December date, I tried through email and telephone to contact the "caretaker", who ignored me. I finally reached a person at Lavish Getaways and she told me there would be no beds, our grandchildren would have to sleep on futons on the floor. They turned out to be less comfortable than outdoor furniture. Five lighting fixtures were inoperative for days; the TV failed to work after 5 days; the upstairs bathroom had black mold; the light fixture above the dining table had never been cleaned; the upstairs master bedroom was spattered with a foreign substance; the spa was filthy; the bathroom window could not be opened due to a missing bolt and nut. Overall, the appearance of the house was shabby. If I had read a review like this one, I would never have rented this place. I hope my review here will reach someone before they blow thousands of dollars with Lavish Getaways. read more

This company and its affiliate MyRentalAdvisor (same phone number) is a disaster. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from them. We rented an apartment in Hilo Lagoon Getaway on the Big Island for Xmas 2017 and NY, and were promised the AC would be working. On arrival the AC did not work and the door from the Living room to the veranda could not be opened either. It turned out that the AC had not been working since before the date we booked the place, and it would not be repaired prior to our departure date. This constitutes very bad business practice. We should have been informed before arrival, have been refunded fully and have been given the opportunity to find something else. Instead, we left after two nights and got only partially refunded. The outstanding amount equals about the average rate for 3 nights ($672), even though we stayed only 2 nights and the owner agreed to a reduced rate for those two nights. It appears as though we were charged the full rental rate plus full cleaning fee plus full admin fee etc etc. Very bad practices indeed and we had no option than to dispute the final charges with Visa. The company did not answer my repeated calls nor respond to my repeated emails. Moreover, they hide behind what they claim the owner of the apartment was agreeing to, even though our business was with them. Apparently, they feel no responsibility for this situation. In short, do yourself a favor and avoid their business. Period!! read more
