We were definitely well within the Covid guidelines of a return policy, but they wouldn't give one so we agreed to just using the credit at a later. After that they more than able to cancel it and tried to reschedule us for the spring . Their availability went away every time. Every few months we would attempt to make a booking, but they were always full. (interesting right ?) Next thing you know two years plus go by. Now she says she's unable to give us any compensation or credit because we're past the two years. It's not our fault they did not have availability. Don't book your stay here. The owners have every intention to get money out of you and lack any type of customer service. Worst customer service and just the worst selfish people. The owners are very kind and attentive. They let us borrow some of their boogie boards and beach chairs when we spent a day at Hukilau beach. It was amazing waking up to the sun rise every day. We booked this stay for April 2020, which obviously we had to rebook. After some negotiation, we were given full credit to rebook a year later. It seemed to be a perfect destination for our honeymoon- beach front, quiet, no crowds. However, upon our arrival, we were greeted with three children screaming next door and loud music playing. The beach front rental we booked does have a privacy screen on the patio but it's pretty much a shard patio. No matter- we will just lounge on the beach and enjoy our homemade beverages. Unfortunately, the hurricane like wind prevented that. It was so windy that we didn't even use the lounge chairs or picnic table outside. The waves on the beach were too intense due to the weather, so we attempted to find calmer beaches...no luck on the north side. Rip currents were everywhere. Okay, how about a nice dinner? Nope- your only option is roadside shrimp or a taqueria, which was fine, but not what we had anticipated. McDonald's had coffee since our place wasn't furnished with any. There are grocery stores nearby, so that's where we got some food. Everything shuts down around 9. The management was responsive to the complaints we had of the children, but you're pretty much at the mercy of whomever is staying next to you since it's an intimate setting and thin walls. Oh, and I hope you like roosters being raised in a dilapidated house next door. After another day of failing to find a beach we could swim in, we came home to find a giant sewer cockroach in the bathroom. That was the final straw. We headed to Waikiki and enjoyed sunshine, calm warm waters, and a wonderful dinner out. Yes, it was crowded, but the water made everything better. The windward side is very authentic...very windy and rainy when the other side is not, and sparse as far as eateries go. It just wasn't the honeymoon we imagined. We asked for at least a night refund (we left two nights early) but didn't get a response to that at all. read more

We got married at Tiki Moon Villas July 21st this year. We got exactly what we wanted for our 5 day vacation-wedding. We booked the Tiki Moon Event 6. It included 6 different units. It housed 30 family members including my husband & I. The compound is roomy for 30 people to come & go. There's tons of parking too. The best part for everybody was that the compound is oceanfront! Some of the units are not oceanfront, but it's literally steps away. Our family kept asking "How did you find this place? Did someone recommend this to you?" My response was always "I found it on Yelp!" We planned everything from Southern California. We heavily relied on online sources & reviews to make caterer, rental, photographer, cake, flower & entertainment decisions. They were a shot in the dark, but luckily it all worked out. Azlina was accommodating & replied quickly to emails. If you are looking for a laid back venue for a small destination wedding, I really recommend this place. My wedding had 45 people. To me, Tiki Moon felt like my home away from home. My husband & I had all our family there. Most of them helped us with preparations. Everything we needed was available on site or from local stores nearby. After our morning wedding & reception, we cleaned up, put our bathing suits on & jumped in the water! It really was a perfect day! We also had a friend come and teach us acro yoga the next day. Azlina & Ray even joined us! She also lent us some yoga mats to use. A really wonderful place! We rented out the entire property for 3 days for our destination wedding with 35 friends and family. We had some family staying at the Marriott hotel just a short walking distance and the rest were on the property. Since we live in CA we were planning everything from afar without a planner and I can tell you that this property is even more beautiful in person than pictures do it justice. We loved that each villa was very clean and fully equipped so our friends and family felt like they had their own space but we could all come together on the beach or in the common areas like under the lighted patio. There is also an outside tv that worked perfectly for playing our rehearsal dinner slideshow. We paid a $2100 event fee for the wedding day but had parties each night grilling out so it was well worth it. Since it was a March wedding, there were rain showers the first two nights on the property but we were able to hang out under the patio and we also rented a tent. We got super lucky that on the actual wedding day it didn't rain at all and we even saw humpback whales breaching in the water right in front of the property! it was amazing. I would highly recommend TMV for any brides that are looking for a property to have an intimate wedding with family and friends all staying in one place, where you can DIY the whole thing like we did with the help of other amazing vendors like Keneke's grill and Waiahole Nursery for food and flowers, Costco for alcohol, and Mersadi Olson photography. read more

This place is AMAZING!!! We stayed for the minimum for 2 night at the Bamboo Hale 1 bedroom. Even though its location is directly across the Polynesian Culture Center on the main road, noise was not even an issue. Believe me, once we walked through those doors, our worries were gone and we were transported into a peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing paradise. It was so convenient that everything was provided for us to enjoy ourselves. Also, we loved how it is PET FRIENDLY! The staff, including Azlina and Ray was so helpful, friendly and patient with us that they surpass all expectations. We will definitely be back and this time stay much longer. I photographed a wedding here over the summer and had a great experience! The grounds are beautiful, the wedding was amazing, and the staff was really friendly. I would recommend this location for a small wedding. It's nice to be able to have all the family staying on the property in one place! Once you walk onto the property, you'll see it's right on the beach with a little cement pier sticking into the ocean (perfect for photos!), and there's a little lawn that's perfect for the reception and dance floor. Definitely park on the street once you find the address; there's not much parking within the property! read more

The spot was the perfect getaway after a very strange year for my family and me. While it was windy and a little cold at times (early April), it was a beautiful and serene landscape with good amenities and nearby activities such as food trucks, Turtle Bay beach, and the Polynesian Cultural Center all close by. What made it the best...the staff - particularly Jacob, who welcomed our fam and made our 2, 3, and 9 year olds feel like the whole place was ours. A few friends and I just graduated from Nursing school and we thought we'd celebrate by staying over at a beach house for a few days. Best decision ever! It was amazing! The driveway was a little hidden so keep in mind once you pass the Polynesian Culture Center, keep a look out for the mail box with the address 55-373 Kamehameha Highway. We rented the Aloha Sunrise 2 bedroom unit and there was more than enough space for 5 of us. When we got there, I believe it was Ray that was there to meet us at the door. He brought us into the house and gave us a quick tour of the inside & outside areas. Azlina also came to greet us later during the night & she was very nice and let us know that they're right next door if we needed anything. The beach is literally right outside your door. It was really windy during the days we were there but it was still beautiful. We loved the convenience of the location, just a short drive in either direction will take you to Foodland, Longs, and 7-11 to name a few. So if you just so happen to forget to bring anything, it's not hard to find somewhere to go buy another one. The pictures don't do this place justice. It's way more beautiful in person in comparison to the photos. The house itself was beautifully decorated which gave it that complete Hawaiian beach house vibe. This particular unit didn't have A/C but with the winds, we definitely didn't need it. There were big windows on the beach side of the house so that you could peek out to see the beach and even watch the sunrise/sunset. The living room had two sofas that turned into queen size beds, the master room had a King bed with a complete bathroom that included a walk-in shower and a bath tub, and the second room had a Queen size. So much sleeping space! The unit also included a washer/dryer and a bunch of kitchen appliances (no rice cooker though so if you're like us and love your rice, bring your own!). Also included is cable & wi-fi! Overall, we had an absolute blast and I'm so glad we chose to go to this place. We'll definitely be back! ALSO, there's this super sweet cat that roams around the house. The owners of the place said his name is Holler. It took all my strength not to take him home with me! lol :) read more

After all the positive reviews I saw online I decided this was a perfect getaway for our thirty third wedding anniversary.Having been to Honolulu several times I thought this might be a nice alternative to Waikiki.The accommodations were okay but, nothing like the more palatial pictures.Our unit had a king bed in a small dark bedroom.Personally,I thought a redo was in order.The bathroom was fine but, nothing special.Kitchen area was nice with granite counters & a bar area.Living room had an inexpensive leather sofa , and a high "Balinese"carved bed.Pretty but, not really practical.There were no tables or lamps which didn't help with reading.The outside was well kept,tropical and had plenty of chaises to relax in .The complex is right on the water but,the area is not really swimmable.Next door is a farm of sorts and we had visiting chickens & chicks .Laie is a DRY town which means no restaurant ( not many) serves alcohol nor do the stores.Why? Because it is a Mormon town with a branch of BYU there.Your nearest decent restaurant is six miles away at the golf club at Turtle Bay .Otherwise , you must drive twenty miles to Haleiwa .All in all,wasn't our best trip to Hawaii.Too remote, too far to drive for decent restaurants,and for $325 a night not worth it.Really needs a redo . Stayed in papaya hale for 3 nights. On the road side but still not so noisy. Fully stocked kitchen. Lotsa AC. Clean decor. Plenty of essentials like towels TP paper towels soap shampoo etc. grill in common area for burgers and veggies and of course kalbi. Just a great price for a lovely low key relaxing staycation. Beach is practically private and lotsa fish to watch while snorkeling and a beautiful reef. Best part- PET FRIENDLY! For our dream day, Tiki Moon Villas was perfect! We had our wedding on Valentine's Day 2014. We don't need to tell you how hard it is to plan a destination wedding...and to do it on a budge makes for a herculean task - but Azlina and Ray made it easy. Starting with the ease of making reservations, the website photos clearly and accurately depicted the rooms, grounds and beach access. Azlina answered all of our questions and gave great recommendations and referrals. Our decision to rent out four of the five villas and reserve the garden area for two events allowed us to have a wedding "week" instead of just a wedding day. Tiki Moon Villas is away from it all, yet easy to get to, right across from the Polynesian Cultural Center and has parking. We opted for more of a DIY wedding so things like having supplies shipped directly to Tiki Moon and having well equipped kitchens made it doable. Having access to free Wi-Fi, telephone, a gas grill, water sport equipment, beach towels, beach chairs, and a hammock made it a real vacation for all of our guests. We can't say enough about the great service we received from Ray and Azlina. The weather threatened our "on the beach" ceremony but Ray was really accommodating in enlarging the lanai area and securing a tent. Azlina helped pull it all together with candles, lights and even netting for the arch and food table. We give Tiki Moon Villas our highest recommendation. read more

This place is wonderful for weddings, as many of the reviews say. The bungalows were beautiful and comfortable and the times I visited my family while they were staying there, I enjoyed the location. Overall, the experience we had was good. The location was beautiful and the site was able to accommodate my cousin's out-of-town guests and wedding (a bit short of 40 people for the ceremony and party). The rooms themselves are comfortable and you feel as if you are staying in a home versus a cold, empty hotel room. One issue with the site itself is the lack of parking, but we were told we could park across the street, parallel to PCC. I'm taking three stars off for the following reasons: 1) My cousin had tried to meet with Azlina a few weeks prior to our cousin arriving for the wedding. We wanted to walk the grounds and see exactly how we would need to set everyone up. A day before the scheduled appointment, my cousin emailed Azlina to confirm that they would be meeting the following day; only then was my cousin informed that Azlina was actually out of town and would not be able to meet that weekend. If we hadn't confirmed a day before /on our end/, we would have shown up with no one to authorize us walking around and looking at everything. 2) When my cousin rescheduled the meeting with Azlina, we were set to meet at 1:00. We were there at 1:00, and were then told we had been scheduled for 1:30 (Azlina was still fifteen minutes late). My cousin looked back at her previous emails, one of which had Azlina confirming our meeting time for 1:00. 3) If you do not like cats, this will be an issue for you. There are multiple cats around the complex that linger. During the wedding reception the cats hung around the patio - around the food - and we had to constantly shoo them away. There are also chicks and a hen. You'll need to like animals, basically. 4) The night of the wedding, everything went well. we were well aware of the 10:00pm curfew. We made sure the music was off and the party was over by then. 10:00 came around and we were in the process of cleaning. We had stacked all the chairs, the guest had started to leave or retire to their bungalows, the props (photo booth and speakers) were either gone or loaded into cars, and we were clearing off the last of the tables. Suddenly, ALL of the lights go out and the owner (I suppose) was standing outside staring at us. It wasnt a flicker to signal we had to leave - the lights just completely went off. When I looked at my phone it was 10:02. We had gone a whopping 2 minutes over the curfew CLEANING. The music was off and people were leaving, but that doesn't signal the fact that we were done, I guess. We then took longer to clean because we were basically cleaning under moonlight and cell phone lights. Then the guy followed us across the street to our cars and stood in front of my car, so I turned my headlights on to signal that he needed to move because I couldn't get out of my parallel stall with him there, staring at us. In short, end your party at 9:30 and be done cleaning to avoid having the lights shut off if you dare exceed the 10:00 curfew, even if you are clearly winding down and cleaning up. This place is great in terms of photo ops and whatever, but make sure you're done, absolutely done, by 10:00, lest your lights be shut off and your guests followed. read more

This venue is perfect! We booked TMV for our wedding and the 5 days leading up to it. We had about 20 people stay on site with us (although it can hold more) and about 40 people total at our wedding. We are in Detroit so we could only see photos and video of the property until we got there and let me tell you, once we got there we were speechless. IT IS GORGEOUS. All of our guests were stunned by the beauty of the property and the hospitability of the owners Ray & Azlina. I can't even put into words how perfect everything was. My husband and I stayed here for two nights during our honeymoon and feel incredibly blessed to experience the excitement of staying in their Ocean Breeze villa which faces the gorgeous Pacific!!! The room contained all the amenities we needed and we awoke every morning to an amazing sunrise on the ocean. The patio is shared with the room next door although there is a wooden partition which separates you and provides some privacy. The property also has several chickens and we even saw some baby chicks!! As animal lovers we were in heaven because they also have several outdoor cats roaming the property and one little black one befriended us so sweetly. He was such a little lover rubbing on our legs and purring loudly! We fell in love with him and even nicknamed him Tahiti!! read more

I was planning a surprise vacation for my wife, since it was our 3 year anniversary. I came across Tiki Moon Villas and the first thing that had me was that it was pet friendly. Shortly after, I started to look at the rooms available and decided to go with the Ocean Sun Deluxe. Shortly after completing my payment, within 48 hrs, I had already received an email from Raymond, one of owners of the property, as well with instructions and information about how to get to the property, parking stalls, near by restaurants and other services. They'll even assist you if arrive late by picking up groceries for you or leaving the lights on. Upon the day of arrival, I showed up two hours early to the property to try and surprise my wife. Everything about this place was beautiful and clean. The ocean was directly out the back door of our room. For a while, I thought it was too good to be true, especially for the price of the room, which is lower than a lot of places in Waikiki. I met with Raymond, about an hour before my check in time and he was nice enough to allow me to check into my room. I got my wife and immediately, she fell in love with the place. He was incredibly helpful and accommodating to our needs. As a local to this island my whole life, In my opinion, this is the best bang for your buck if you're coming to hawaii for the first time or just trying to have some relaxation, whether it be with your spouse, family or friends. read more

AMAZING. stayed here two nights in the ocean breeze room. this is not really a hotel as other reviews said. you are in your own separate room(one bedroom with two sinks, bathroom and closet. also dining room with table stove and fridge,) with no hallways attaching to other rooms. only 4 or 5 "rooms" on the property. booked the ocean breeze about 4-5 months before we arrived and it was amazing. you open your door and there is a patio with a table and chairs and right below the patio is the beach. couldn't be any closer. a monk seal was sleeping 6 feet away from us. so peaceful and quiet. definitely coming back here *only 2 "rooms" are right infront of ocean. others are right behind the 2 "rooms" read more

My girl friend and I stayed in the 'Ocean Sun' room and had a wonderful time. It has been decorated very tastefully and is quite a large bedroom. A complete kitchen with a gas range and refrigerator makes it possible to cook meals in the room if desired. We did not use the kitchen, but I imagine it is equipped with all the necessary utensils and dishware. A video on their website ('www.tikimoonvillas.com') takes a tour through the entire unit and on out to the beach. Check it out! The owners are super friendly and were more than willing to give us all the directions and information on the surrounding area with special tips on hiking. After a couple nights in hustling, bustling Waikiki, this place is a literal paradise. We were in Aloha Sunrise 3(?) which was the bigger house sort of separated from the condos. The panoramic window leading to the beach was incredible to sit at with coffee and watch tons crabs scurry along the sand. The house itself is immaculately decorated with local art (Kim Taylor Reece everywhere!) And every amenity. You can tell the owners really have an eye for detail. We enjoyed time on the back lawn area enjoying the view and breeze. Our friends were just through a hinge door to the main part of the villas where there was a beautiful garden and lawn area where our friends had their wedding. While not the calmest and a bit rocky, the beach was so empty it was worth not having to leave the house to take a dip. The villas provided boogie boards, water shoes, and snorkeling stuff which was awesome and helpful. Watch out though! These undisturbed waters leave lots of room for wildlife like previously mentioned crabs, jellies (blue bottles), and other sea creatures! I got jellied, and while not as bad as I expected it did welt up and sting quite a bit. The ONLY cons I can think of is that there was no A/C in the house we were in, and almost non existent privacy in the room we were in. The windows and sliding door had fixed wooden slats that we could see out of and neighbors could easily see into (we tested). It made changing and sleeping a bit uncomfortable. The heat was rough to take after staying at an air conditioned hotel, but once our bodies adjusted it was manageable. Blankets were the enemy at night and sitting on the couch meant you were going to sweat out every liquid in your body through your butt. Easily remedied by grabbing a cold brew and sitting in a lawn chair on the beach. Minimal complaints that don't tarnish all the amazing this place has to offer. I cannot wait to get another chance to stay here again. I threw a legit fit when we had to leave and had to be consoled by a 7 year old. We'll be back, Tiki Moon! read more

When my Bride and I started looking at venues for our wedding on Oahu, we knew we wanted something a little more intimate, while also having a place to stay for our family for a week or so. After a long search online, we came across Tiki Moon Villas and were immediately intrigued. We were planning a trip early in the year and wanted to visit as many of our prospective venues as possible, and scheduled a visit at Tiki Moon. When we first set foot on the property, the first impression you get is "wow, this is amazingly chill and beautiful". The location is right on the water, there is a big impressive courtyard surrounded by the villas and of course the ocean view. We talked with Ray and walked around a bit and it hit both my Bride and I at the same time... this is the place. When we got back to the mainland, we finalized our booking with Tiki Moon we felt great about this being the wedding venue. Ray and Azlina couldn't be easier to work with. Both were answering e-mails and phone calls with quick responses, especially appreciated as we were trying to plan a wedding with 100 guests from 2500 miles away. They also provided recommendations for vendors which helped out a great deal. We were able to check in a little early on our check in date, and we were really impressed with the rooms and how they were presented. We were introducing our families to each other largely for the first time, and we obviously wanted a good impression on all fronts and the entire property provided nothing but "wow"s and "ahhs" from everyone as they arrived. It is the perfect place to host a group if you're traveling together, as we rented the whole property for 5 days and this was just a great way to go. Each bungalow is very well appointed and each has a lot of flexibility in terms of how many people can stay in each, etc etc. On our wedding day, Azlina and Mindy were incredibly helpful with setup, helping to direct vendors and just helping to make sure everything ran smoothly, while also providing everything they could to make an unforgettable night. They partied with us a bit at the wedding and even did a couple photobooth photos which we thought was awesome! All in all, Tiki Moon is a great choice if you're looking for something off the beaten path a bit, out of Waikiki. As far as a wedding venue goes, I can only say what all 100 of our family and friends told us: "this place is perfect" as we all had a beautiful time into the night. We would definitely book Tiki Moon again for accommodations, in fact it inspired our family to take a family trip every 5 years just to hopefully get together and experience a trip like this again. Tiki Moon Villas was a great place to have a wedding. We wanted to find a place on the North Shore of Oahu that had accommodations for about 15 people as well as an outdoor area for a reception with about 50 people. We planned to rent a place from VRBO but they had hidden rules. We are so glad we went with Tiki Moon Villas. Ray and Azlina are very nice, helpful, and respond quickly to emails. It was was helpful to have someone to ask questions to throughout the planning process, especially since we planned the wedding from the mainland. We never saw the property in person but the pictures, youtube videos, and description from Ray and Azlina made it very possible to plan from afar. The biggest negative is that in order to have an event at the property you're required to rent out a minimum of 5 villas for a minimum of 3 nights. That was okay, especially since we needed that much space to house our family and wedding party and it does reserve the common areas for you. However, on top of that they make you pay a venue fee. We feel that you shouldn't have to pay the venue fee in addition to renting 5 villas. This is especially true because you still need to rent tables, chairs, tent, lighting, etc. in order to have an event. Definitely be prepared by renting a tent. It rained all day up until about 30 minutes before our ceremony. They do let you stake the tent which is great because some places don't and this makes it a lot easier/cheaper. Be aware that you do need to provide lighting because there isn't any in the main reception area. Additionally, you aren't allowed to move the arch to the beach so we had to build our own. Ray and Azlina let you send a few packages to them right before your event. Unfortunately, even though we weren't sending anything else to them, they wouldn't allow us to send a package of bamboo because it was long. The beach wasn't very large even at low tide so we had to have everyone stand instead of sit on the beach and place the arch to the side instead of in front of the ocean so the pictures weren't as good (villa in the background instead of the ocean) but we did see that from photos before booking. There is also unsightly concrete that juts out just to the right when you go down to the beach, which is unfortunate for pictures/scenery. There is an outdoor area which would've been great for cocktail hour if it hadn't been raining. You can arrange the outdoor furniture however you'd like. There is only one outdoor bathroom but you can lock the door to the main area of one of the villas and use just it's bathroom as the women's room for your event. Ray and Azlina will explain this to you. We had some food and plates/cutlery left at the end of our event and they said they'd take care of it, which was great. You will need a permit if you want to get married on the beach, as well as event insurance to have an event. These are both very affordable. Azlina was nice enough to let us know that someone was having trouble getting a beach permit and that we could cancel free of charge for the next 24 hours if we couldn't obtain one. From that moment we knew we had made the right choice in Tiki Moon Villas, and we were able to get the permit. Ray and Azlina give you a list of vendors which is very helpful and they live on the property which was great for any questions we had. There are chickens and cats roaming around on the property, which we loved. The villas are very well equipped with many items including kitchenware. We were able to use some for the wedding reception when the rental company didn't deliver the correct serving spoons, which was awesome. Wish we'd known the full extent of what the villas had! It was amazing to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the ocean. The scenery was gorgeous. It was fabulous to be able to spend a weekend with family and friends here, steps from the ocean with well equipped villas and fun things to do like boogie boarding. We had a barbecue the night before the wedding, using their grill and outdoor area. It was perfect. The wedding reception was beautiful as well. We had the greatest wedding weekend at Tiki Moon Villas and are so glad we chose it as our wedding venue. We hope to go back for an anniversary. read more

We chose this place to have our wedding. I took a chance and booked it as our venue without seeing it in person first. Yikes! From the pictures and videos I knew it would go well with my garden/bohemian theme. When I showed up I was more impressed than by what I saw in the pictures/videos. This is a great location for the bride that wants to host somewhere different than Waikiki/Honolulu. It's also good for the bride that wants a relaxed theme for her her wedding. It's on the North Shore, about an hour drive from Waikiki/Honolulu. Azlina and Ray were very accommodating and made themselves available to us anytime we needed to contact them. Both of them are also very personable and we got to converse with them during our stay there. We also met all the cute animals that welcome you during your stay. Holler, the cat was especially very social. Two words to describe this place, quaint and cozy, with the sound of the ocean as your soundtrack :-). Staying there and being able to host our rehearsal dinner/wedding ceremony/wedding reception all in one place was so convenient. If I could get married there all over again I would. read more

Their cancellation policy is 60 days for refund. I gave them almost 90 days in writing, have left several messages, and waited more than 5 weeks. Not only did they try to run my card for the full stay amount (and clearly have the property listed as available for new customers)...I still have not received communication or a refund other than "I'm in Asia, I'll handle your request next week". I had an emergency surgery and had to cancel, and they are holding my money hostage. Very poor management. Run away! read more
