This was a very pleasant surprise, a cafe with middle eastern focus and great outdoor seating. The food options looked great and I went with a Za'atar bagel. It was full of flavor and seasoning exactly what I was looking for without the heavyweight you can get from cream cheese. If I had more time I would've gone with the Syrian coffee which looks similar to a Turkish coffee but went with a cold brew as I was headed to a meeting. The cold brew was solid if unspectacular. I will definitely be back and if you're into trains it's a great spot to watch Amtrak and commuter rail go by as well. read more

I'm SO glad we stopped here!!!!The people working here really make you feel welcome and comfortable. It's very cleanly and super cute inside. Perfect place to stop and chat. I recommend trying one of their sandwiches. They are truly phenomenal! If I was having the worst day of my life, stopping here for a bite might actually brighten it up! Sandwiches from heaven. Finally tried this place again after visiting on opening day a few months back. The cafe is cute and trendy, a great place for a meeting or work. The food and coffee are both solid. The chicken pesto sandwich was tasty but not super fresh. I love that you can order to eat there and get food on a real plate and coffee in a real mug. This always makes a cafe more cozy! Lawadessa is a little pricey for what you're getting but I don't mind since it seems like a local family business. All the workers are super nice and it's such a good vibe. Definitely recommend this cute new spot in Mansfield! It's downtown but has convenient parking. It's spacious inside with lots of sitting areas and also has benches outdoors. Service is friendly and fast, ambience is great and the menu is fun with lots of classics but some creative surprises as well. read more

Incredibly cute cafe that opened not too long ago. Very clean, super friendly staff, and unique goodies! We stopped in for the first time after a very full morning for a couple of cups of something comforting. I had a cup of chai latte and my husband spotted some bite sized pistachio stuffed dates that we just had to try. These were SO GOOD! what an adorable cafe on the corner. love the seating arrangements inside. the staff behind the counter were so happy to be there and conversational with both regulars and new ppl. i got a small pot of hot tea and it was quite generous, i must have had like 5 cups. and i got a caramelized halal turkey and onion baguette, and it was an elevated cafe sandwich for sure. would definitely frequent more if i lived nearby. read more

Love the coffee here and the breakfast sandwich was delicious! The tiramisu latte was absolutely amazing. Staff is super nice and friendly. Inside the cafe is beautiful and a lovely spot to sit and enjoy. The size of the straws in the medium cup is pretty funny though. read more

Despite the low score, I encourage you to visit lawadessa cafe. My experience had ups and downs so my blended score reflects that. The family who owns the cafe is lovely. The place has a great atmosphere with abundant, cozy seating where a solo person could enjoy a cup of tea while reading a book or playing a crossword puzzle as well as spaces to spend time with friends. On coffee tea and atmosphere I rate this a 4. The desserts look great but I have not partaken. On the downside, the sourdough turkey, cheese, and sun dried tomato sandwich was skimpy, overpriced ($13) and unremarkable. The overwhelming taste was Dijon mustard. It also didn't come with any chips, fries, potato salad, or the like. The bar for sandwiches in Mansfield is high, and lawadessas version just doesn't measure up. I would be open to trying a salad on a future visit however I noticed salads are priced per ingredient which is a bit of a turnoff. Lastly, one minor pet peeve, and call me a curmudgeon, but I am a firm believer that the suggested tipping at a counter service place should start at 10%. Their suggestions on the payment screen start at 15%. An amount I might pay for exceptional counter service but that's not table stakes. I am not sure why anyone waits tables anymore when the counter service folks get full service tips and much greater turnover. Thank you for indulging me in my rant. Anyway, end story, I will return, for coffee and dessert, and I hope Lawadessa finds their footing in Mansfield. read more
