Took my family here on a nice Sunday morning and the place was gorgeous!!!! We don't have enough of this around and especially being a city girl, spaces like this are extremely hard to find. We roam around and really absorb and enjoyed the ambiance and peacefulness of this place! We got a sandwich, açaí bowl, and some drinks here. We got 2 açaí bowl, a lemonade, a frozen coffee, and a sandwich and paid over $70. This is a bit steep and as a city girl the prices in Boston even isn't this high. Everything was good, not the best I've had, but not terrible but just nothing extraordinary to pay that price. We saw a fly inside the bakery refrigerator and told the staff and was told that unfortunately their sliding door aren't the greatest to the flies get in ? Yikes I think for this price they should probably make the drinks and sandwiches something to truly remember but maybe we were paying for the ambiance? I would come back for maybe just a refresher next time while we shop and enjoy the nursery but not for lunch. I do think the nursery is worth while but the stars are specifically for the cafe. read more

Egg and cheese on sourdough was so good The ice coffee was a little on the watery side, but it was still really good! The vanilla syrup is real! Only downside is that they get so busy that you wait a while for your food. I think I waited 20 mins for an egg and cheese. Beautiful cafe too! read more

Briggs has been an annual tradition for years, the gardens are beautiful and I love finding new plants for my patio & garden every year. The 3 stars are because of the café. Its unorganized, waits are insane and a majority of the staff seemed to not know what they were doing. I watched one of them open 4 different containers before actually pouring one to make a drink. The wrong items are being given out and items are being forgotten. Its never been THIS bad. And when one gave my mother the wrong drink instead of apologizing & making it right she argued that my mom took someone else's... but both were on her slip with her tea. The manager stepped in & thankfully fixed it. But some people just dont belong in food service. . . Ive been a barista, and while the customer definitely isn't always right, sometimes they are and starting an argument over their own mistake to place blame is a wild reaction. Stumbled across this gem of a place. Briggs is a large nursery with indoor and outdoor plant, garden items and home decor. The atmosphere was so relaxing despite it being busy. Staff did well with crowd and parking control. I even found an adorable plant holder for my air plants. The star of this place if the cafe. Located in the back of the nursery is a cafe with a variety of hot and cold drinks, bakery items, breakfast and lunch items. There were four of us, three ordered ice coffees and one specialized ice tea as well as two açaí bowls, a Sunrise BLT and a Garden Club Sandwich. The drinks were amazing. The food was fresh and delicious. This easily has become a favorite place. Beautiful surroundings to enjoy a little escape from the ordinary. Today we stopped for some annuals for the garden but were once again lured to the cafe. We enjoyed a delicious French Chicken Salad Sandwich with an Ice scold Bottled Maine Root Beer, and the Feta Grilled Cheese on Toasted Sourdough sandwich with a bottled lemonade . While the wait can be a little long during peak hours, the wait is rewarded with made to order deliciousness. We finished our lunch by splitting an enormous "Cowboy Cookie". So good. Briggs is such a fun place! The moment you walk through the doors, it's like walking into a plant lover's paradise. The cafe in the back of the store is adorable and serves simple food, but it is very good and fresh. I ordered the BALT sandwich and had a specialty St. Patrick's Day cold brew coffee. The coffee was so good! In the greenhouse they will have little workshops going on, and there's lots of friendly staff to help you and answer plant questions. When I was there last weekend, there was a table for propagation and it was basically "take a clipping, leave a clipping" what a fun way to connect with people and learn about new plants! It can get very, very busy in the store, so be aware of the time of season and if there are holidays coming up where it is popular to gift plants! They have a big parking lot, but even the parking lot will fill up depending on the time of year! read more

Came here today on a whim. SO stinking cute! They are a nursery (plants) with a cafe, they also have a playground and outdoor seating. Very wide selection of plants; aesthetic, edible, carnivorous. Also sell all your planting needs and necessities. The cafe has a good selection of coffees, smoothies, pastries, ice cream, and breakfast and lunch sandwiches. The nursery and shop itself is an experience with color and amazing finds. The cafe is connected and I found it cozy and enjoyed the feel of almost being in a greenhouse. Both my husband's latte and my iced coffee were perfectly prepared. The ice cream sandwich was a hit with our son- ice cream was homemade (mint chocolate chip)with a delicious chocolate/ caramel cookie (yum!). Both my husband and I had the blt on sourdough. Our daughter had the chicken salad in a croissant. All three sandwiches were tasty and the service was great even with the weekend crowd. Honestly one of the most beautiful places I've been in. Every little detail is gorgeous- come in and wander through aisles of garden accessories and beautiful gifts, step outside into the greenhouse areas, and then settle into the stunning cafe for lunch and coffee. Someone with an amazing eye for detail picked everything out, from the bouquets of hanging dried flowers in the cafe to the carefully curated children's books that are so amazingly illustrated that adults will want them for themselves. On top of that, the food and drinks are great! There's wonderful gluten free options and a creative seasonal menu (I had a strawberry cold foam topped matcha- to die for). We were looking for a breakfast spot nearby, and the Yelp reviews were generally favorable for the Brigg's Café, so we stopped by to give it a try. It is a self seating, self serving café with seating both inside and out. It is located in the back of a beautiful garden center, and there are some tables set near their beautiful plants and flowers. We ordered two Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwiches on Croissants ($11.98 total). They were nicely prepared, hot and tasty. And they were ready quickly. One drawback for the café is a very limited menu. Had heard such great things and had not gotten around to going until now; I am so glad I went because this may be my new favorite lunch spot! I went here on a Sunday with my boyfriend and we enjoyed the French chicken sandwich and the fig+apple salad; I also liked that the cafe features items from Providence RI shops like Tricycle Ice Cream (so good!). I also had the nitro cold brew, which was smooth and delicious. Really good coffee and pastries at reasonable prices! This cafe is located within Brigg's Nursery so you can extend your trip into a lunch or coffee break. I had a seasonal pumpkin spice bar which was super tasty and different. The employees were nice, and it was very relaxing to sit and relax among the plants. The caprese sandwich was awesome! Sandwiches are about $7, high quality. The salads looked really good from what I saw on the table next to me. They are more pricey, around $12 or $15. Wish I wasn't there in the late afternoon or else I would have tried the iced coffee. I had an iced tea and it was standard, refreshing. Briggs Cafe has always been the favorite go-to spot for offering sandwiches that are a bit unique as well as old favorites. Sandwiches are always fresh and delicious. All summer the menu has been changing.... some sandwiches were deleted and some returned to the menu, back and forth throughout the weeks. It has been difficult to keep track! Today when I called to reserve my favorite Green Goddess sandwich, I was told there are now only three sandwiches available, and Green Goddess was not one of them. Also I was told there will no longer be any substitutions, such as types of bread. I don't know what's going on but it's quite disappointing. I certainly hope the staff figures out what to do so the wonderful original menu and requested substitutions can be restored. The staff behind the counter and atmosphere are always pleasant. It would be unfortunate for the cafe to lose business. read more

Not worth the wait. I went here yesterday. Thought it would be a nice experience for my mom. Boy was I wrong. I saw the sign that said the wait would be longer than usual & thought okay. It was very busy (it was a nice Saturday...heads up cafe!). They really should get a better system in place for busy weekends, like other restaurants do. I've never had such a bad experience like this. Everyone was complaining about the wait. One old man asked for his order a couple of times, when it finally came out, it was just a little danish..what? When I saw the woman behind me got her larger order before me, I asked for my order ... after 45 minutes! I got arrogant responses from a little girl from the kitchen. She said smugly, next time consider our wait times...what? How is it my fault that I didn't know it was going to take nearly an hour for 2 simple cold sandwiches?! And, why would I return? Short or POOR staffing should not be an excuse for bad service & rudeness! Unfortunately, the professionalism of the workforce in the garden center does not carry over into the cafe staff! I interacted with several employees in the garden center (who were also very busy) & everyone was nothing but helpful and pleasant. read more
