I wish I could give them a thousand stars…read more Probably 40 years ago, my grandmother gave me a chair that had been in her home forever. I loved it, and had it in my apartment for years. My cats destroyed the fabric, and the chair moved to the basement, where it remained until we moved to a new house about a month ago. I almost threw the chair out, but couldn't bear the thought of parting with it. So I contacted Vinny at Miro Upholstery, and he couldn't have been nicer. I went to the store to pick out a fabric, and Vinny suggested that I take some fabric books home. He gave me several books, my husband and I went through them and selected one. Miro picked up the chair and the fabric books, and today, about a month later, the chair was delivered. It is more beautiful than I could have imagined. New foam, new fabric, they touched up the wood - it's an antique chair that looks brand new. I'm completely thrilled. This was an excellent experience, and I would highly recommend Miro Upholstery.

I love his "old school" vibe--he comes personally to your house to inspect the furniture and tell you what is and isn't possible. We brought photos of the room, the rug, etc...and they were so helpful in choosing a fabric that brightened up the room! Our second recent project was an 1800's Victorian Corner Chair that was in the attic for years. I emailed Barry photos and he emailed right back with suggestions (to not refinish the wood as to keep the original patina) and a quote. We brought in the chair and Toni brought out various samples to choose from. The orignial silk was a teal/blue and she assisted us in finding a beautiful fabric. The chair was polished and looks just gorgeous. This family has the knowledge, the eye and the professionalism you need! And they are very responsive and super friendly. Who knew that furniture disassembly and reassembly was a thing? I certainly didn't until I treated…read moremyself to an extra cozy Boston Interiors sectional and the sofa portion wouldn't fit up my front or back staircase. Whoops! I had already been waiting two months for delivery, so to say I was disappointed is an understatement. Then the panic kicked in. Since it was a custom sectional, I would get majorly dinged if I returned it. But what other options were there? That's where Melo and Sons came in. The delivery guy put me on the phone with his manager to talk it over. Yes, returning the sectional was an option, as was taking out my dining room window to bring the sofa portion in that way (hell no!) Or... I could have some pros disassemble it at their warehouse then reassemble it in my living room. Of my three options, the third was the winner by a longshot. As I was the first delivery of the day, I patiently waited until Melo and Sons opened then gave them a ring. Joanne immediately answered and put my nerves at ease. It was obvious I wasn't the first numpty to purchase a too big piece of furniture that needed saving by them. After providing her all the requested information, I had a delivery date for about three weeks out. By the time my Boston Interiors salesperson called to discuss the failed delivery, everything was already tucked and tied with Melo and Sons. When the big day finally arrived, Mike and George showed up right on time and quickly got to work. They laid down moving blankets to protect the floor then brought up the disassembled sofa in several carefully wrapped pieces. Aside from being the consummate professionals, they were funny to boot. It took them less than two hours to reassemble the sofa and at long last reunite it with its other half. That evening, after three long months, I finally got to relax on and enjoy my sectional in its full glory. All thanks to Melo and Sons and their niche specialty.

I emailed Melo & Sons and quickly received a response with a quote from Joanne, who was extremely nice and helpful. An appointment was scheduled on 1/16/26 between 10-12. However, they came early, which was greatly appreciated. The two men that showed up were two for the nicest people. Both men had that leather sectional disassembled, brought up the stairs and reassembled in a few hours. After all their hard work, you can't even tell that the sectional was taken apart and put back together. NO scratches, dents, or rips. There work was impeccable. I sincerely want to Thank them for everything, because my couch would still be sitting in my hallway if it wasn't for their help.

Communication with folks at this store (and other Artee locations) started out fine, but they…read morebecame INCREDIBLY non-responsive as the project moved along and several problems arose. We submitted payment on 4/27/24 and were told that work on reupolestering our sofa would begin on 6/24, then 6/25, then 6/26, when work actually began. We were told the sofa would be finished and the drapes would be installed on 7/5, then 7/8, then 7/15 between 9-11am. No one called to inform us that the arrival would actually be 3pm that day, we had to track someone down for that information. During the install on July 16, we discovered that the bedroom drapes arrived without rings and were not given a new install date for those until we asked repeatedly. Additionally, I specifically requested no pleats in any of the custom curtains, yet the sets for two rooms were delivered with pleats. Since that delivery in July 2024, our designer and I called, texted, and emailed multiple times and received no response until 3 months later on 10/17/24. When I responded to that email I included a screenshot of a prior correspondence with them on 3/25/24, in which I state in no uncertain terms that I do not want pleats on the drapes. We continued to ask them to pick those drapes up and remove the pleats for months, and only received a response in March 2025 when my husband, who is a lawyer, threatened legal action. They picked the drapes up in March to remove the pleats, a fix which generally requires very little turnaround time. And yet here we are, more than two months later, without the drapes having been altered and returned and no word from anyone on when we can expect them back. So all in all, getting these custom drapes has taken over a year, and we're still not done yet. The only reason we stuck with this company is that they were the only one willing to reupholster our very large couch on site. The couch is finished and looks gorgeous, but I would never, ever hire these folks again.

Called him in March 2018 and we picked out fabric he picked up the chair and off he went. Several months later in November of 2018 I reached out to see if the chair was ready at that time I was told he was very busy but it was almost done. I was ok with that but not happy that he never reached out with a update. So today March 2019 still do not have the chair reached out to him and explained that after a year with no communication it's time to have my chair back. So today he brought my chair back with nothing done. In fact all he did was rip the old material off so I am at square one. Would never never recommend him. No reason why it was so long only said he was starting it today really you have had it for a year. No thanks I will find someone more responsible and reliable.
