We recently hired Lawn & Order to do a complete overhaul of our sideyard and backyard, including installation of all new drainage and irrigation systems. We are so happy with the finished product. They transformed our yard from an overgrown, weedy mess into a relatively low maintenance, beautiful oasis and were very professional throughout the entire process. I also really liked their online portal, which was super convenient for receiving quotes and invoices, making payments, and seeing the schedule for our project. The only downside was that, since we used their virtual estimate process while stay-at-home orders were in effect, we had a couple change orders resulting from conditions that were not fully apparent from the photos we sent that the initial quote was based on. I hired Lawn and Order to install drainage, irrigation and about a 12x12 ft. area with sod in my 2400 sq. ft. (minus hardscape) back yard. The estimate was almost .75 more than others but at that point communication was good and Dale seemed to have some good ideas so the impression was he cared about his projects. Before signing the contract he stated he would come to the project site to outline plans with landscape paint since my landscape architects' plan I sent him had been changed somewhat by the hardscape another contractor had installed. I also sent a power point with changes. During his walk through for the estimate it's important to note I showed him the actual rigid drain pipes I wanted. No one ever discussed a start date with me so I had to call to inquire. On the day the project started the crew showed up with inexpensive plastic drain material, no Dale and no plan. The crew did not speak English except for the leader as a second language. The leader was nice enough but either his English was limited or he was caught between the owner and myself. I was unable to get in contact with Dale. I was able to speak with someone in the office and after mentioning I couldn't give a good evaluation Dale called once. I was outside so he emailed saying the additional cost of the rigid drain pipe would be $1500 but he would reduce that to $750. I agreed because I had a choice of losing my deposit, putting in cheap material or paying the extra money which was less money than the deposit. It's important to note the contract stated drainage so the digging etc. was already covered. I was paying $750 for several $10 drain pipes, two of which I already had and I had the rocks needed. When the project was finished there were multiple issues. Dale never came at the beginning, during or end of the project. The major issue was 8 inches of flooding after a rain which Dale blamed on my dogs footprints so he was not going to address. He was told the dogs also dug but I told him I have multiple people including the landscape architect to attest they did not dig. No longer trusting this company I asked my landscape architect and another landscape company for a second opinion. The landscape company said the drains were excessive and misplaced and the grading was inadequate. The landscape architect who knew my property said I need a dry well. Additionally the project was not completed as agreed on in contract and multiple drains were installed 2 inches above dirt and on an angle, one drain was installed in the middle of the walk way and a sprinkler was installed under the rain chain (for downspout). In addition to blaming the dogs for flooding Dale responded with platitudes out of 'How to deal with negative reviews" 101 but was not going to even come over to look at the issues. Finally when I explained to Dale the other professionals had come to the home for a second opinion and disagreed with him he did show up. When I walked him around and pointed out all the issues his response was "I thought I was here to look at the water". In the end he agreed to regrade the dirt in the flooding area with 1/2 yard of dirt, cap the sprinkler and left me to figure drainage, and finished the irrigation in the raised bed area. The grading did not really help the flooding so I, a 69 years old women, dug the dry well myself and this cleared the flooding problems. After the issues were addressed Dale agreed to I went out to start the planting and noticed my tomato containers, cages and tree stakes were missing (value about $100) my gates are padlocked and no one had been in the yard. I had offered a member of the crew lemons from the tree and witnessed him putting my crate for moving garden supplies in the truck filled with lemons. I did not say anything since I thought he would empty the crate and return it. He did not. Just heartsick about this experience and in the end was able to work with Excel Landscape to come out and fix the remaining issues. read more

They are supposed to provide lawn service every week. They show up 1-2 times a month. When they are here they toss sticks and branches into our flower bed instead of disposing of them. I'm surprised their ratings are so good. read more

Though we've been pleased with the front yard design and 60% of the plant selection, we feel a HUGE heads up is in order for those pay the final bill yet may need Lawn and Order to follow up if there is a problem. We needed plants replaced due to them dying within the one year warranty period. Plants were originally improperly placed for the size they would become and for the sun exposure. It took constant texts, calls, messages left, and emails, for months, trying to get a response and schedule the replacements. When they finally came, the plants were not labeled but I saw that several were not what I'd ordered. I refused them and again an extended process began, trying to get this finished. Initially Dale said I'd get credit for a large number of plants that had proved to be unsuitable, but then changed it to 50% credit, then NO credit, because replacement plants were supposedly going to be larger. They were not larger at all. Also, be extremely specific in the plant names you want. Know what they look like, take pictures, because if you need them replaced the nursery they use may send something in the same family but not at all what you asked for. We realize staffing issues due to covid and weather delays may have contributed to the time to resolve our problems, but ultimately the total lack of response, acknowledgement, or any attempt to contact us made extremely frustrated. Their lack of effort to fulfill their contractual agreement in any kind of a timely fashion gave us the very clear message: If you don't owe them money, you won't be on their radar and you'll be ignored. read more

Very professional, fast and friendly. We had them remove two trees in the backyard and also re-landscape the back yard. They took the tree down so carefully one big branch at a time and never once damaged anything. Called at least 12-15 times, sent emails, did everything I could to contact them; twice I was told by Jason(?) that someone would get back to me. Nothing. About a week ago I had the "president" from this company coke out and do my grandparent front and back yard, and he burned the backyard grass. Fried 4 plants and even offered if I pay cash he would give me a "deal" so we did that. And we assessed the issue with him and he came out and he said oh yeah he admitted he that he had too much nitrogen for the grass. He never tested the ph of our yard or the chemicals in his water tank. He never offered to reimburse us for the damage he caused I'm very displeased with this company. read more

I hired this company to re-do my front yard. the owner does not handle changes to the job, he shows up at your house multiple times looking for money even though his contract does not stipulate progress payments. He says he guarantees his plants but before the job was completed I had 9 plants die. He sent a message stating he would replace the plants if I paid him some balance but has never provided any detailed billing and never showed up. He sent my granddaughter a text message April 2017 that he had my plants but he never showed up nor have we heard from them since. The artificial turf laid had a seam in the middle but instead of replacing they just pulled it from the side so now there is a gap at the walkway. There are large cement pieces that are under the turf so it is crunchy when you walk on it and the pins used are coming up so I can now pull the turf up at every corner. They used large piping for the drip system and it is just laying on top of the mulch as they never returned to pin it down correctly. I would not recommend this company to anyone wanting or needing tree work or yard work. If there was a negative rating I would use it. read more
