I have been a loyal customer for three years without any issues and have always been satisfied with their service. Except for last year when they switched to new management. Last year I had them do over seeding and aeration. This is the same service they had provided to me the two previous years with one exception. This time when I received the bill it was $50.00 more then the previous year for the exact same service. This price increase was never brought up when I created the appointment and in fact when I asked the receptionist if the cost would be the same from the previous year, she stated YES. After leaving numerous messages and continuing to call for two weeks, I was finally able to resolve the issue after an hour long conversation with the office manager. No one from Alexandria Lawn Service ever returned my calls. Now, fast forward to this year. We receive a contract from Alexandria Lawn Service for lawn mowing. We did not sign the contract and called their company to cancel service. We thought this issue had been resolved by the conversation we had with the receptionist. We were wrong. Alexandria Lawn Service still came by and mowed my lawn twice. I called and spoke to the receptionist again stating that I wished to not continue service as I requested earlier on a previous call. This time she stated cancellation needed to be in writing and required 30 days notice. I asked why this was not brought up on my initial phone conversation when I called to cancel service. She did not have a response!!!! But wait, it gets better. The initial contract Alexandria Lawn Service sent for this year was for $30 a mow. This is the same contract I did not sign as I wished to cancel service. I then received a bill from Alexandria Lawn Service for the two mows at $40 a mow. Where the hell did $40 a mow come from??? I then pulled out the contract they sent me this year which was never signed and returned. If you read the fine print on the contract, it states if the service being provided changes or the price of the service changes then a new contract needs to be signed, otherwise you are automatically renewed against the contract from the previous year. Last time I checked $30 does not equal $40. Once again I have left numerous messages for Pam "office manager" with no returned calls. This is now the second time "new management" has switched prices without notification. Based on this improper billing practice and lack of communication I would HIGHLY recommend anyone looking for lawn service to take their business elsewhere.

We want to share our experience with Centaury Paving, to hopefully inform your decision-making…read moreprocess as you prepare to install your residential driveway. Our main point of contact was their sales manager. Throughout our permitted driveway project's construction phase--which included both asphalt and concrete work--the sales manager never appeared on-site and the project lacked a consistent, single project manager, contributing to some communication delays when decisions or guidance was needed. We are realistic about construction projects and the accompanying mess, however the crew left behind personal lunch trash, equipment was often strewn about our yard for multiple days, and the neighborhood road was covered by gravel and dirt (that became mud) that could have easily been addressed without my husband having to twice contact the sale manager -- who did eventually send somebody to pressure wash the road. On days when our hose and water was used, the crew never turned off the water after use, despite being asked to please do so. Perhaps these simple daily cleanup tasks could have been corrected by having a project manager on site? We also encountered significant concerns from the Town of Herndon during the construction process. Inspectors noted that the crew seemed unfamiliar with required procedures, and at one point, the project was close to being shut down due to compliance issues. This concern was shared with the sales manager, who explained this is typical feedback from every inspector, however, the town inspectors' near-constant oversight (literally several hours of monitoring over two days) seems to corroborate the need for their increased vigilance to achieve a successful outcome on our behalf -- for which we are thankful as the driveway was approved and looks exactly as we planned. We are happy with our driveway, but certainly would have done a few things differently before starting the project.
