We had new LVP installed late last year after waiting several years to tackle this job. Major health issues held us back as well as being on a Senior citizen budget and our 94 year old home was in major need of an update. We were so fortunate to work with Jack Catanese who helped make this major purchase possible for us providing expert guidance throughout and kept affordability in mind. All rooms except for the kitchen and bathroom which were already tiled were redone. The transformation in our home was absolutely enormous and provided us an amazing feeling of comfort as we are so proud of the results. I replaced carpet and laminate with new LVP flooring, and Lawrence Flooring had a great selection AND competitively priced. I selected a few samples in the showroom, and Mike E. brought them over along with some of his suggestions ... narrowed down to two final pieces. Mike was able to get samples to lay out in the space -- glad we did this as my "favorite" was too dark once I had several planks out. The lighter one I installed looks great!! I requested baseboards ahead of time so I could paint before install; no problem with this request. Overall a positive experierence, as a friend had recommended this company after using them twice in the past 10 years. The area being replaced with LPV was an addition (old patio slab from previous owners) that unknowingly wasn't level. Upon demolition, the crew did the assessment and recommending grinding + leveling the entire area. This unfortunately added to the project cost, but beyond their control. The crew was nice, hard working and cleaned up completely. Hidden "flaws" in homes are expected when renovations are made, yet didn't have exact cost (only a ballpark figure) until the final invoice. It was more than I anticipated, but Mike E. worked with me for a fair price. I'd recommend this company and would use them again! read more

I went to Breuners,(now defunct) and found a few pieces of living room furniture larry was able to scored me for exactly half price and still make enough profit to fill up his Mercedes he parks two blocks away so you don't know he is successful! :) .( I have joked with him about this from time to time. I have now used Lawrence Flooring & Interiors twice (5 years apart) for both carpeting my home + area rugs and both experiences have been fantastic. In my most recent experience, I worked with Jack, who was accommodating and reliable from beginning to end. Picking out my rug was fun with many choices. I was under a deadline to get my area rug put in and Jack kept his word with getting the rug made and shipped to the store within 4-5 weeks. I had movers pick up the rug and all went seamlessly. Poor, poor customer service. We had Lawrence Contract Furnishers install carpet in 2005. The carpet itself has held up fine. However, the carpet needs to be re-stretched. We've placed multiple calls to L.C.F. to have them come out to re-stretch. We are more than willing to pay whatever cost is associated but they refuse to set up an appointment or even return calls. UPDATE We finally got them to come out and stretch the carpet. It looks brand new. read more

The work that was done was top quality. However, I had carpet replaced with waterproof vinyl flooring such that the lowered baseplate exposed a strip of unpainted surface everywhere the flooring was installed. I was not advised of this occurring and I had to scramble to find another contractor to finish the painting and grout touchup before restoring the furniture. It would have been better if we had been pre-warned about needing to find another contractor in the beginning or if they included this task in the job. All else - fine. Since the review was posted the staff contacted me and we worked out the work issues very satisfactorily for me. Got no where fast at this place. Mark acted like he really wanted to do business with me after I personally stopped by the business to discuss the carpet I was interested in purchasing. He said he would talk to his guy that he buys from and would get back to me in a day or two. A day or two passes, nothing. I call again and he acted like I was a little crazy for calling him after he told me it would definitely get back to me in a day or two. After three phone calls to him and just a bad feeling about the guy, I let it go and went to S and G Carpet. Our carpet gets installed next Monday. read more

We went to Lawrence Contract Furnishers because it was time to get new carpets after years of dogs and kids. My husband had a certain color and type in mind, and after describing it to Mark and Mike, they suggested several possibilities that were exactly what we were looking for. They have a great selection and an excellent knowledge of carpets, so the decision was easy to make. We just got the carpets installed today and everything looks fantastic. The crew arrived right on time, and very kindly helped us move the rest of the furniture out of the way because we were slow in the morning (we had told them we would move the furniture out). When the installation was done they moved everything back. We are really pleased with the quality of the carpet and the professional installation. The installing crew, headed by Anthony, has been friendly and professional. We were upset at first, because the carpet we ordered turned out to be not good quality when it was laid down. Some loops were pulling out, and the dogs destroyed it only 2 hours after installation. The pad was excellent. Luckily we purchased a SHAW carpet brand that had a 30 day satisfaction gaurantee. Marco was great, he put up with us, but we had to get a different carpet. We ordered a different type, asked Marco for a different installation crew, and when it was all finished, it looked GREAT! We are very pleased with Lawrence Contractors for going the extra mile to make sure we were happy and that we had a good carpet. read more

You must be dealing with another Larry Goldberg, what a jerk. The two guys that came to do my carpeting and baseboards were crap, and did a crap job, had tattoos all over, pony tails and cursed on and off from the time they entered my home, however, Larry backed them up completely said they were great and did custom homes, what is he smoking??? Anyway , after several weeks of complaining and pictures, the company finally they sent someone to do the baseboards and carpet correctly, the guy they sent, couldn't believe the job the first two had done, says a lot for what Larry thinks??? Of course, Larry never came out and looked at the crappy job, guess he really didn't care. i would think that he would want to know what he was sending out to represent his company. I had them do carpet 5 years ago and everything went great, this time, not so good. Think they are going down hill fast and they weren't very helpful with solving the problem. Finally got some help after 4 weeks, but still was very disappointed and very unhappy that this small job took so long and it is still not what I had expected. Maybe I am just too picky, but when you are paying your earned money, it should be done correctly the first time. Or maybe, the job wasn't a custom home????? So far, we have made two great purchases with Lawrence Contract - a fabulous RC Hunter sectional and thick yet soft Coronation carpeting. I have nothing but praises for our sales people, Shireen and Mark. I had to subtract one star when I ended up with two carpet seams in the walkway which could have been avoided with better layout. I asked and received a letter from Lawrence Contract, guaranteeing these two seams beyond the one year installation warranty. I would highly recommend. I've had two horrendous experiences within two years and that is more than enough for me. In Sept. 2011 I had some Urban hardwood floors installed by this co., primarily staple down job, for a small one bedroom upstairs condo. They also installed carpeting in the bedroom and baseboards throughout. All in all I was pretty thrilled with the job, but that only lasted a little while. I was advised by their salesman Mark to use Bona cleaner and polish on my floors. As a homeowner, I would never put anything on my brand new hardwoods that I wasn't told I could use. The products were inexpensive at Home Depot. The Bona cleaner worked great. Then, a year later, since I had never used the polish, I decided to give it a go, assuming it was comparable to Pledge. To my horror, the liquid waxy polish embedded any minor lint or hairs into the floors and so I had to order the Bona polish remover to remove all of it which took me over 15 hours to remove and still there was traces of it everywhere. In the end, the polish totally destroyed my floors with cracking, snapping and popping everywhere. Truly a nightmare. I come to find out it's all over the internet how horrible the Bona polish is and not to use it. The acrylic in the polish is not compatible with the polyurathane floors. When Mark came out to inspect my floors, he told me to take it up with Bona. Bona was no help and I ended up filing a claim with my insurance co. Thankfully my insurance co. paid for it, and so I decided to have Lawrence do the installation a second time since their contractor Anthony and his crew did such a great job the first time. I was really thankful to get him and his team back again, and I didn't make a big deal about orig. being told the polish was alright to use. Plus they gave me a good deal on the job the second time around. The job was done beg. of Dec. 2012. They did the job in exactly the same amount of time as the first job, approx. 2 1/2 days. Unfortunately, this time, the floors never settled down like they did the first time and as the Summer time came there was major cracking, snapping and popping again with the swelling of the floors. How could this be possible when I used the exact same contractor and his crew for install? I got Mark to come out and inspect but he just told me it was my foundation settling (my condo. is 29 yrs. old) or my neighbor's temperatures and he assured me it would get better over time. But 6 weeks later come mid-August the situation was out of control and I knew I was never going to be able to live with the broken floors. I told Mark I need to get the contractor back to inspect everything and I also called the regional rep for Urban too. Could it be defective wood? All three of them came to my house at the same time and the Urban rep Tyler shockingly tried to say that I or my adjoining neighbor had a water leak somewhere that was causing the damage. So I called my insurance co. again to file another claim and had my rep and an environmental restoration specialist come over to inspect. They readily determined there was no leak as they could see no wood cupping, buckling or wood discoloration anywhere and began to ask me if the wood was acclimated to my house before it was installed. I told them only for 1 day, just like the first time. My insurance co. advised me they would not pay the claim this time due to a bad install job but they would pay for an expert to come out and do a report. The expert's findings in fact determined the failure of the floors to be because of lack of proper acclimation prior to the install. The difference betw. the first and second job was the first time the job was done in Sept., the weather was approx. 80 degrees. Second time it was Dec. and approx. 50 degrees. The Urban installation instructions specifically say how critical it is that your heaters be up and running for 14 days prior to install and how the wood should be acclimated to your home for a minimum of 3-5 days prior to installation with the temp. ranging betw. 60-80 degrees, which it was not. The subject of this acclimation time or my heat being turned on never once came up in conversation with either the salesman or the contractor and his crew. The cartons of wood should also be opened at both ends with the plastic wrap cut allowing air to circulate which also wasn't done. So when I brought the expert's report in to the shop and handed it to Mark, he told me he really doesn't pay much attention to acclimation because some manufacturers recommend it while others do not. I told him that's really unfortunate because this mfg. does recommend it, the install instructions were not followed, and my floors are broken and they need to be fixed for yes, a third time. Then he told me that he is done and they do not want the job. So I told him that I need all my money back. In the end, the owner made good and did refund my money, but now I am back at square one, two years later, needing new flooring. read more
