Overall I like this practice. The woman I see there is friendly and easy to talk to. I took off a star because I had an unpleasant interaction with a receptionist today. She was rude and condescending toward me. I asked if there was any way I could speak to the PA I had seen, and she replied with "well she's seeing patients..." in an annoyed tone. She then said she could take a message for me. Instead of taking the message, she answered the medical question I had with her own opinion. Not helpful, rude, and out of line. So far that's the only bad thing that I've experienced though. read more

My first visit to Dr. Ha was a last minute thing. My family physician referred me to a Dermatologist. I managed to get in right away - but only because I lucked out on the timing - there was a cancellation that morning and I snagged the opening. Dermatologists seem to have this odd trait of being booked out for weeks in advance... Dr. Ha asks a lot of questions, and in my observation - listens carefully. I also asked a lot of questions - he is totally open to the patient asking questions and having a discussion. He exudes a combination of professionalism while being friendly and approachable. Definitely a good combination for a Doctor. His staff was also friendly and likable. My entire encounter at his office was a good one and I would recommend him to others! I will be back! read more

Just returned from a scheduled appt for a routine scalp checkup. I had previously checked in online and uploaded a copy of my insurance card as requested. When I arrived at the office, I was asked to provide my insurance card. It appears that the reverse of the card was also needed. I was then asked to provide photo id which I presented. The id was returned. Subsequently, I was asked to furnish the id again so it could be uploaded. I refused to allow uploading a copy of my personal id and was told I would not be seen otherwise. I refused and the appt was cancelled by the Doctor. I was seen last year at this practice and none of this occurred. I will seek another provider. dm read more

Greeted immediately upon entering. Fast, friendly and efficient. Was seen exactly at appointment time. Physician Assistant was very knowledgeable and took great care of me. Checkout was quick and efficient as well. Only issue is that parking was full so I had to park at a nearby restaurant. read more

The receptionists are trained liars and lazy beyond measure. They canceled 3 hours before the appointment time and lied about communicating days prior of the cancellation. No email proof, no voicemail, nothing. Only notification was a call and an email 3 hours before the appointment time, that I didn't receive until I already left my job. I went there for an issue that bothered me and the specialist I was checked by was not wearing gloves and some staff were not following wearing masks,when examining my skin and was in such a hurry advised me that my issue needs a minor surgery that needs to be rescheduled. To my surprise I got a bill for $240 in addition to $600 they charged my insurance. I was able to get my main issue resolved by another dermatologist with excellent service and reasonably cost. I saw Dr. Ha today. He was wonderful! Explained everything to me, was very understanding and patient with me. Finally gave me a name for what is causing my issues as well as took the time to explain it to me as well as had knowledge of another condition that not many Drs know about. He answered all of my questions thoroughly. I was reluctant because of all the negative reviews on here but I have to say that he is completely the opposite of the negative reviews that I read. Contrary to the experience the other reviewer had, it was never Dr. Ha himself that I had a problem with. I have attempted to see him exactly twice. The first time, I had a growth (note, I did NOT say "zit") on my chin that started quite small and grew over the course of a day or two so that it was quite large, and very painful. I called and called, trying to make an appointment and was told I could get one in six weeks (really?). I asked the receptionist to put me on the list for cancellations and went back to looking for another doctor. Two hours later, the receptionist called and told me they had an appointment available in fifteen minutes. So I hopped in the car, sped like a crazy person and got there two minutes late - at which point I sat for twenty-five minutes, waiting to be helped. Dr. Ha and I did the appointment thing - it turned out to be a cyst - and he gave me a shot and whatever and I was on my way. When I stopped at the front desk, the receptionist rolled her eyes and asked if I was the "zit emergency." WTF, lady? The second time I tried to go was for a skin condition I had that pops up from time to time and isn't serious, although it is very unpleasant when it happens, and requires immediate, agressive treatment. Again, there was no way for me to get an appointment for at least two months. I am not the only one this happens to. My mother had been going to him for years and recently had to stop because she simply couldn't get in to see him for her check-ups after skin cancer. This office has their priorities all out of whack, and seriously needs to stop overbooking and get their act together. Oh, and teach the receptionists not to be nasty to the paying clients. Didn't have a great experience here. Made an appointment two and a half months out because I had heard about his reputation and figured it was worth the wait. My appointment took no more than 15 minutes and all I got out of it was a scolding. Any time I asked questions Dr. Ha just looked annoyed to be dealing with me. I listed out all my concerns and he would not have addressed any of them if I hadn't kept asking questions. I feel frustrated with his demeanor and he didn't give me any solutions to my questions that I wouldn't get from webmd. I won't be going here again. read more

After you make an appointment and go into the examination room, what strikes you are not the diplomas and degrees and awards hanging on the wall. No. On the wall are pictures of Dr. Ha's family including his beloved dog. It's a good description of Dr. Ha. He's not a stuffy doctor in a white coat looking down on you. He's a nice man. What I appreciated most about him were his communication skills. Not only did he talk, but he encouraged questions. At my age you start getting things growing on your body that you don't know what they are. Dr. Ha explained them in a way that the layperson can understand. read more

I've been going through a couple of years in discovery with an unknown rash that presents on my face, neck and chest. Its a V shaped chest rash that often erupts in blister like pustules. Although I had been diagnosed with eczema years ago- it wasn't constant and presented in different ways depending on stress level- dryness in the air- season of the year- etc. I hadn't experienced any for a few years and then in May of 2016 I got this itchy scaly rash that could not be explained. Since then some form of that rash presents every single day. I've gotten the arm prick allergy test; been given anti itch meds and tried every cream over the counter and RX. Ive had another chronic issue that I felt was associated and have had MRIs, ultrasounds, many blood tests (to rule out auto-immunities), and even CT scans. Nothing. My PCP insisted I try a dermatologist, and Dr Ha's brother in Landsdowne comes highly recommended. His list is months long; I found out this Dr is his brother. In any case. C Ha seemed to only want to listen to himself and told me it looked like contact dermatitis (basically said something my skin-on my face neck and chest- was coming in contact with was the cause. I told him I disagreed, and boy he got a little attitude "you came to me for my opinion, didn't you?" In any case he suggested a Patch test. I gave him a chance. As I predicted, there was nothing that stood out except things like industrial rubber (the stuff condoms are made of- no worries there, doc). It seemed he had no curiosity whatsoever just text book doctor. He saw me for 10 mins 1st appt- second appt 1 PA and 1 intern administered the patch-3rd visit- a different PA and the same intern from visit 1 read the results-4th visit- for a "re"-read-the same people from visit 3. I said I would like an RX strength cream for itch and was refused and they brought the doc in. He came in-saw the patch results- essentially agreeing with their opinion. He did tell them to give me a cream, to his credit, but now on the 2nd one since last week that doesn't work waiting for a call from the good doctor. Dermatology is a guessing game, IMHO. My overall comment is that he lacks the curiosity necessary to really help patients with issues that are more than 1 dimensional, and he has less than a pleasant demeanor if you challenge him in any way. The staff was wonderful, btw and appointments were kept in a timely manner. Update 3/8: on 3/2 I requested a RX that actually controls the itch on my chest. I was told Dr Ha would call me. I didn't need him to, but whatever. He did not. Today I call the office and they claim he called me but the list of topics he supposedly covered in the voicemail message would be too long to be comprehensive. Basically he's saying "no cream for you!" and btw, stop using any and all skin care including SPF and seek an appointment with a contact dermatitis doctor. What? I thought that's what he was. Oh, also, get an appointment with an allergist (which I did a year ago). What a joke. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone who wanted anything but rote textbook diagnosis. Doctor of the year, my butt. Oh, and btw, anyone wondering what "contact dermatitis" is- it's eczema. It is known and published in any skin care diagnosis journal that the causes are unknown. I know- that's what I was diagnosed with 20 years ago, and every year was different from the last, some years nothing at all. One star. Prince William Dermatology is fantastic! They were quick, professional, friendly, and most importantly effective. My appointment was set for 8:30, and the initial paperwork was a breeze. Every staff member I spoke to was positive, helpful? and friendly; from the greeter, to the doctor himself, and a nurse who helped direct me to the exit sign in the hall. My appointment today with Dr. Ha was exceptional. Upon arrival the friendly receptionist took my ID and medical card, made copies, and asked me to have a seat. The waiting area was clean and quiet. I was 10 minutes early. At appointment time I was called back to a clean, contemporary room where a friendly nurse advised me Dr. Ha would be right with me. MInutes later the annual skin exam began. But first Dr. Ha and his nurse reviewed all the records my previous Dermatologist had forwarded. My skin exam was methodical and thorough. I had questions throughout the appointment and Dr. Ha answered all of them. I felt at ease at all times as he explained everything he was doing and didn't rush. I really like that the first thing he did before the exam was wash his hands. Dr. Ha and his staff are true professionals. Recommended! read more

Visited this office today for an appointment, and walked in to find every staff member without a mask on. The front desk person pulled up a gaitor mask as I approached the desk in my mask, along with my masked, unvaccinated 6 year old who had an appointment. When I asked why they weren't wearing masks being that it's a medical setting and I thought they were required, the receptionist replied "not required in Virginia." I don't know if that is correct or not, though I cannot imagine it is. Regardless, with delta running rampant and prince William county's community transmission level at a "high" level according to the CDC, one would think a medical practice might take the safe route and wear masks, regardless of their own vaccination status, as the cdc is recommending. I was horrified at this situation, and my 6 year old was put at risk. I asked the receptionist if the doctors we were seeing would be wearing a mask or not, and she was rude in her response, as though what I was asking was a bother. The doctor we saw wore a mask and was kind, however if you have an appointment with this practice and Covid safety is important to you, I would find another practice. After sitting in 1.5 hours of traffic on the way to an appointment, running 18 minutes late, as I was pulling in, the impolite secretary called and notified me that they couldn't see me as it was too close to their lunch time. This office is not accommodating or considerate of working parents. I was told I could not schedule back to back appointments with my kids because Dr. Ha has a policy of not scheduling 3 appointments for the same family back to back in case of a cancellation. This after taking my information for 15 minutes even though I mentioned up front I had 3 new patients. Instead I would have to take 2 days off work to get me and my family in as those children are minors and can't take themselves. When I spoke to Lisa, the office manager she just reiterated the same thing instead of being accommodating seeing how I was interested in making the appointments and showing up. Guess I will take those 3 new patients elsewhere. I would not give it any stars but I have to give it at least one in order to post this review. read more

6 month check up today. I walked away with 4 frozen areas and a smile. Dr Ha is by far one of the best doctors I've dealt with. He has patience and a good sense of humor all while explaining things in a way you can understand. I'm grateful to him for finding the bad things on my skin- so I can stop them from becoming much worse. So my son has had strep 5 times in four months and has been deemed a carrier. He is on another medication and developed a rash literally from head to toe!! It is horrible to look at and with his strep history I am leaning toward scarlet fever. He saw the pediatrician this morning but they have dropped the ball too many times I wanted a skin specialist to give me another opinion. I called and spoke to the receptionist who could of cared less - treated me as if I was calling about a wart on my hand versus a kid covered in a rash that went raging out of control overnight. "We can get you in mid-june" REALLY - because that is going to help! So I went in person with my son to see if a doctor could take a quick look and THEY could decide if he needed to be seen -- again "nothing till mid-june or maybe the end of next week." Again how is an appointment a week out going to help!!! Both my daughter and I have been seen here and needless to say I will not go back to give them any more business. I get being booked - but I think in more of an urgent situation they can squeeze someone in - in all reality what would it be .... a 5-10 mins visit. What a joke! read more

Dr. Ha and staff are fantastic! They take their time with every appointment. I have never felt rushed and encouraged to ask questions. The nurses are quick to return phone calls and give updates on lab results. I gladly refer Dr. Ha and staff to all of my clients!!! read more

Dr. Ha is thorough. He takes time to answer questions and discuss any issues. I drive an hour to see him and wait a while to get my appointments since he's always booked. I did try another dermatologist since I moved away but I am back with Dr. Ha. I will wait and drive the distance because I like him that much. Appreciate their reminder call so I could submit online registration which made wait time in the office much shorter than it would have been. Met with PA Chelsea Reamy who was so friendly and detailed in recommendations. Empathetic approach as well. Appreciate online submission of prescription, although Target Pharm still took an hour to fill after I arrived there after the derm appointment. Appointments are so far out it becomes impractical. Wait time while in the office is great. They only prescribe a month at a time meds so that you have to keep calling for refills or follow-up appointments. Switching to primary care for dermatology treatment for better access. read more

Seven years ago I had a painful cyst on my lower back. I went to Dr Ha and he immediately recognized the problem and knew what to do. A previous physician had removed the cyst but did not get the core. Dr. Ha skillfully and artfully removed the core. No pain, no recurrence. My wife also had an appointment to screen for skin cancer. We both feel that Dr. Ha has a wonderful combination of intelligence and compassion. He cares about his patients and respects his patients. This is reflected in his communication skills. He he readily shares information with his patients. He is knowledgeable and through. A few weeks ago I became concerned about a suspicious mole. I immediately looked up Dr. Ha and scheduled an appointment. My previous impressions were confirmed. He is a very talented doctor. After a careful examination we decided to remove three moles/growths. The process was so gentle I did not even realize that he was done. During and after the procedure he explained everything and allayed my concerns. He also called me the next day to make sure that I did not worry unnecessarily while waiting for lab results. (It is routine to send out removed tissue for lab testing/biopsy.) Dr Ha remembered me, even though it had been seven years from my only other visit. He is kind and dedicated. My wife is a melanoma survivor (she had melanoma 20 years ago) we recognize the value of having a good dermatologist. I intend to visit my dermatologist, Dr. Ha, for regular check-ups. Early detection is not a cliche. I also want to thank his office staff and nurse. The office environment is pleasant and the office personnel are kind and responsive to your needs and concerns. read more

Let it be said, Dr. Ha, by himself, deserves 5 stars. He is, without a doubt, the kindest, gentlest, most thorough doctor I have ever encountered. With that said, his office staff is incompetent and the receptionist (the one who is an older woman, with red-rimmed glasses and very short, curly, grey hair) is extremely rude. My son developed a mysterious, itchy rash and I called on Tuesday to schedule a cancellation appointment. I was called by a younger girl on Tuesday afternoon and was told that there was an available appointment to see the PA at 2 on Thursday (today). I wrote it on my calendar while we were talking AND had her repeat it and then had her confirm it while I repeated it. "2 o'clock on Thursday," repeated FOUR TIMES..... When we got there at 2, we were told that his appointment is at 3:30 and when I stated that I was told 2pm, the receptionist neither cared nor tried to right the office's wrong..... We were simply told we could "wait and maybe be seen before 3:30." I don't know who has an hour and a half to waste at the doctor's office due to the office's mistake, but I certainly do not have the luxury of that kind of wasted time. So, guess who gets to go BACK to Dr. Ha's office and deal with that woman again in another hour and fifteen minutes.... Me.....that's who...... This is enough to make me seriously consider finding another dermatologist. I can't figure out how, in today's job market, someone who mistreats patients and/or treats them with disdain, as if THEY are a burden or a bother to you as the receptionist, can actually keep their job. It does not take that much to treat patients with kindness, respect and hospitality. **It needs to be stated that there were 3 patients in the waiting room at the time and all 3 were pointing toward the receptionist and shaking their heads, mouthing "She's so rude." and giving her the stank-eye. I chose Dr Ha because of great reviews. Made an appt 6 weeks out and figured a busy practice is a good sign. Dr Ha was so arrogant and uncaring and acted like he was annoyed with every question I asked him. When I said, oh I thought it was x problem instead of explaining, he rudely said "well you can go get a 2nd opinion." The when my daughter was nervous about the injection he wanted to give her, he acted very annoyed that we were discussing and I was trying to convince her that it was ok. Kept saying things like - "I have a surgery to get to" and "I'm not getting involved in this" (it was a calm discussion) and at one point turned away exasperated and said " I can't do this!" So frustrated that he had to stand there for 2 minutes. (Our discussion was no more than a minute or two) I mean, If you're busy, I understand, but you could have said "I'll leave you to discuss, and be right back". But instead, was more like "hurry up, or leave and go elsewhere" at one point he even started to leave and end the appt, I said, oh would we have to make a separate appt for the injection? But no I was just taking too much of his time so if I took one more second he was done! So rude. Mind you the entire appointment took no more than 10-15 minutes so it wasn't like I took more than my allotted time. I don't know if he is medically skilled or not, but I lose trust in someone who thinks my appointment is a waste of his precious time. read more

I have been a patient here for a long time and I have never written a review about any business but this time I feel I should. I was 14 minutes late to my appointment and I thought my apt was at 1:45 but I showed up at 1:44. I am usually early to appointments but I was on Catharpin and the Fire truck and ambulance drove by and caused me to be late due to the traffic jam it caused at the light. When I arrived at the office and signed in, the polite front desk lady said she would check if the doctor could still see me. She returned and told me, "NO" I was to late. No problem I thought. Then they proceeded to charge me a no show fee of 25 dollars because I was 14 minutes late to my appointment. I don't want to take advantage of any doctor's time but, I am human and there is a limit to how strict you should be with a long time patient. How about when I've waited 20 minutes in the office? Exactly! We aren't going to talk about that..........This write up will get me nowhere but I am happy to say 8 patients will no longer be a part of this practice and several more to come. It's not going to hurt Dr. Ha I'm sure, but sometimes it's about being compassionate and realizing that people can be a just a few minutes late on accident. I took my daughter there for molluscum on her legs. Dr. Ha was not friendly, or interested in answering any questions, either mine or my daughter's. I had to bring my 2 year old son with us. He was sitting very quietly in the corner chair, which was leather. (Who puts leather chairs in exam rooms??) My son scratched the chair arm with his fingernail. Before I could say or do anything to stop him, Dr. Ha turned and spoke very sharply to him, making him cry. First off, you don't talk to my kid, you talk to ME. Second, he's TWO and was behaving very well. I was handling it. Dr. Ha has no bedside manner with his patients or their families. No personality. We will never go back. What a jerk. read more

Wow, that was a nasty review by someone (Erika) that is used to getting her way, immediately! My experience was completely different. The skin around my eyes reacted badly to some cleaning chemicals and my Primary Care physician called them and we were able to get me in within a couple days. Dr. Ha took care of the immediate problem but then gave me a thorough exam where he found some benign skin cancer he was able to remove. Labs came back negative thank goodness. The staff was very professional and I would go back to them in a heartbeat if I still lived in the area. Erika needs to realize that others that have long-standing appointments are first in line. By far the best dermatology I have been to for the last 8 years! I've been visiting Chelsea Reamy, physician assistant, for a few months now for adult acne, and let me tell you, I am so pleased with my results so far! She is excellent, friendly, courteous, thorough, takes her time to explain things and will help you find a solution by taking baby steps. A++ for bedside manner! She will work with you and/or your pharmacist to find medications at a reasonable price so you don't end up throwing away a few hundred dollars for a small 1oz tube of cream. I have been going to Dr. Ha for approximately 9 years. Dr. Ha has always provided the absolute best medical care, advice and treatment. He is very professional and has a great bed side manner. He takes the time to answer ALL of your questions and concerns and does not rush you through your appointment. I know that I am getting the best medical care when I am in his office and have a sense of comfort after my appointments. He is a very knowledgeable and caring doctor. His office is very clean from the waiting room to the examining room. My husband and two children also go to Dr. Ha. I have many friends that go to him also. I highly recommend Dr. Ha. I have used Dr. Ha for about 7 years - Recently my 7 yo daighter had a growing mass of bumps on her face - spreading in number and size. For a month I BEGGED them to see her and the best appt. they would give me was almost 3 months away. I pleaded with them as she was becoming self-conscious and anxious - and they appeared contagious. I got ZERO concern or mercy and , instead rudeness. I have had surgery with this Dermatologist and several appointments over the years - so I have been a good "customer". I truly hope this office's lack of patient concern is reflected in a decline in business - since it appears business is foremost on their mind - not helping those in imminent need. read more
