After reading some of the reviews, I wanted to write this. Dr. Reed did my face lift 10 yrs ago along with a tummy tuck and some revisions on my breasts. My results were so good that my friend from Texas came up to NY to get hers done as well, along with 4 of my friends here in NY. One of those friends here in NY is a very famous personality who had everything to lose. She, along with all of my friends all would and have gone back to him. Everyone is different. Sometimes your expectations are not achievable in plastic surgery. The surgeons do what they can with what they have to work with. You can not magically transform your face into something not there in the first place. I have many friends expect to see something they imagine or wish they had...especially in their noses being too long, too wide. A bump here, etc etc. I've seen so many women that their noses look too short, too straight, too skinny after and they look weird. We all want to look like something else. We look in the mirror and say, wish my hips were smaller, my nose skinnier, my breasts different, my jaw not so square, my lips bigger, my cheeks bigger, etc etc. Like I said....Surgeons aren't magicians. As to post op care...I don't know what some of you are saying, but a personal call from Doctor Reed to make sure I was doing fine and many follow-ups by his staff. No complaints there. I felt comfortable when going in for consultation and all my questions were answered. You have to ask the questions...what can I expect after? Another doctor told me to write ALL of your questions down before you go to your consultation and make sure you ask everything. I am now, after 11 years heading back to Dr Reed to do my neck and a mini face lift because I believe he is the best and the most conservative. Those of you who say you have scars...well - YOU GET SCARS! They are cutting you and stitching you back together. You go to a dermatologist after and they inject them and use laser on them and they go away! All surgeries leave scars. I had him do some revisions on my breasts and I had scars after...so...I went and had laser and some injections 4 times and they are gone. So remember...ask your doctor if it's achievable and what to expect. I've seen my results and on my friends and we are all extremely happy. read more

Do not go to him. He gave me Mercer and I was sickly for months . He refused to give me back my money that I had to replace my implant . He answers he own phone now and basically has nothing going on. Kept my money and never performed the surgery.. Stay away from him. read more

But if you're ready for a permanent shock. Factor step right in, no refund s. No mirrors allowed. Now why sitting in the waiting room I heard some more complaints red flags A women requested a facelift he pulled it' so tight she can hear her own thought in surround sound . His surgical technique? If a hammer and duct tape can't fix it, it's not worth fixing . Dr Reed takes pride in his work, even if no one else does. Dr Reed is the kind of doctor who insists. "You'll love it once the swelling goes down"but the swelling never goes down.his idea of symmetry is that"if both sides are messed up it balances out . If Dr Lawrence s Reed gets his hands on your face, you 'd better start saying your goodbyes to symmetry, to normal expressions, to any hope of looking human again. Worried about a tiny wrinkle A slightly crooked nos? A barely noticeable blemish? Oh don't worry because once Mr Dr butcher is finish those will be the last of your concerns but hey at least no one will notice that tiny wrinkle anymore. If you were nervous about a little imperfection before, dr. Lawrence s. Reed will make sure you never worry about something so small again because once he's done, you'll have much bigger problems. The moment you step out of surgery, people won't just stare...they'll Sprint. Nurses will scream, patients dive out of Windows, and someone faints in The hallway, the receptionist quits on the spot a child points at you and yells,"monster"! AWFUL NOSE JOB !!! He ruined my face , didn't fix what I asked to fix and over reduced what needed to just very slight touch . Completely changed the shape of my nose and left me with a crooked, uneven, twisted to the side nose with a very bad breathing .. Genuinely doesn't care what a patient wants, doesn't let you talk and just says he knows what he is doing. He makes you think that he does, gives you his sweet talk and then rushes through the surgery, kick you out when you barely wake up and doesn't even answer the questions on what he did to the nose. Never a clear answer. Now to fix what he did is going to cost me more than double with another surgeon. Save your face and save your money !!! The depression I have gone through because of it was beyond comprehension , and how much I wanted to die thinking why I let him ruin my life ... and sweet Rose who works for him will say anything to take your money... I would like to state a fact. Lawrence Reed M.D. is a con artist, crook, etc. No need to go on and on. How do I know this? I had a Blepharoplasty and unnecessary brow lift done by him close to 30 years ago. He destroyed my original look and gave me a surprised look that made me feel like an alien. It cost me money to have another Doctor try to correct his mistake. I look better now as the years progressed and my eyes look okay. (Thank goodness) he didn't destroy my entire face. When he first did my eyes, I had to cover my eyes with sunglasses (close to 2 years) not to show the surprised look. I have read his other reviews and can honestly say they are so True. He assumes no responsibility and just makes you realize, "Why did I come to this so called Doctor in the first place". We all live and learn from our mistakes and I certainly have. You move forward as I did but, each and everyday I wake up and never can forget my horrible experience with this Doctor. Yes all these years later! read more

After a significant amount of weight loss I had a breast lift done with Dr. Reed. He used a procedure that he assured me would produce great results. It turned out to be a botched job that he tried correcting more than once, only making it worse. He had also suggested I get implants for the best possible outcome and while I agreed, I told him I didn't want large breasts. Just to look natural. After surgery, I was a D cup which were later changed to a smaller implant as I originally requested. I went to another Doctor to find out if there was anything more that could be done. I was horribly scarred. He told me that under the circumstances, I wasn't a good candidate for the procedure. Dr. Reed initially used to do the lift. Unable to put myself through any more surgery on my breasts , I've lived with the scarring and deformity for many years. read more

Dr. Reed is an artist, not merely a surgeon. What makes him stand out to me among the other top rated surgeons is that he genuinely cares! He makes himself available for any questions or concerns; He always gets back to his patients in a timely manner. And, the icing on the cake is that he is personable, affable and knows when to add some humor which keeps you at ease. With Dr. Read what you see is what you get and despite his large and busy practice, he somehow made me feel special. His office assistants and nurses reflect the same values and integrity.. all nice and personable. I had the most interactions with Carmel and Judy so I will give them a loud shout out too. Stay away from Dr. Reed at consultation time he will charm you and will tell you just what you want to hear to convince you to go ahead, he will make any procedure as: "no big deal and I do it all the time," you will be qute a law price to make the procedure tempting. after the procedure I realized that Dr. Reed can not even make a strait incision, watch out you will be very sorry! he has temper and bad bed side manor, after serjury he will offer to rectefy his mistake for no coast but on his office chair which is scary. In my case he did not perform what he was retain to do. His stuff is also a part of the sales team with the same manors. Stay away!!!! read more

I saw Dr. Reed early in 2004, the year Yelp was founded, so it was not known to me at the time, but recently, having been reminded of the botched up job he did on the simple procedure called "bilateral ear lobe reduction," I decided it was time to warn others of my experience. While he is probably quite competent when it comes to serious work on the face, it is best to stay away from him for minor surgery. Instead of shortening my ear lobes, he closed the perfectly fine holes that I'd had in my ears since teenage. Although it might have been his staff assistant's fault in not giving him the right information as to why I was there, after I looked into the mirror and saw the mistake, he was called back into the room and did the correct procedure. However, he offered no apology and no offer to reopen the holes he had mistakenly closed. After my complaint, he claimed he was told to fix a split in my ear lobe, and never took responsibility for the mistake. When I returned for him to reopen the holes, he had an assistant do it, and I am still reminded of what happened because of the continued need, after all this time, to keep earrings in my ears even during the night in order to keep the holes from closing, and the occasional infection resulting therefrom. read more

Dr. Reed was recommended by my best friend who had some face work done. I asked her when she was having the work done. She said I've already had it done. The perfect answer. I was desperate for a breast reduction. For medical reasons my breasts were two different sizes. All I can say is the work, the recovery, the results are beyond stunning. DR. REED IS A BRILLIANT SURGEON WITH A HEART OF GOLD! I was referred to Dr. Reed after a terribly botched thigh lift ( after major weight loss ). Dr. Reed immediately put me at ease, explained what needed to be done, but also made it clear that I needed to wait a year from the date of the original surgery before he would do the revision. This is typical, he is the most ethical and medically knowledgeable plastic surgeon you will meet. Dr. Reed also did a revision of the abdominoplasty that was done by the other surgeon. Both revisions were a huge success...what a difference! Unlike the first surgeon, who made me feel that as an ex-obese woman I should be content with any surgical result I got, Dr. Reed made me feel like a beautiful woman WHO DESERVED TO LOOK HER BEST! All in all, I have had four surgeries with Dr. Reed. The results are all beyond what I expected. i had surgery with dr reed, my results were absolutely disasterous followed by even worse post op treatment, dr reed brushed off my complaints and didnt want to know, it was devastating, his bedside manner prior to the surgery was fine but changed drastically afterwards when he seen the result. read more
