Wow! I was so excited to try a new (to me) Middle Eastern restaurant! I met up with friends recently on a Wednesday night at Layalina Restaurant & Lounge. It was very quiet on a Wednesday night, so we had a lot of chances to get to know the restaurant owner. He was so friendly and welcoming! What a great guy! I recommended that he contact Yelp to set up a Yelp Elite event there sometime. They definitely have the space. When you walk in, there is an area for smoking hookahs. The hookahs did not have much of an odor (not like cigarette smoke), so it didn't impede on our dining experience. The atmosphere is basically a large banquet hall with a stage. The owner advised they do lots of events there, especially on the weekends. They also have a huge patio. The food! Wow! What huge, generous portions! We were all thrilled with our orders. The hummus is so creamy and delicious. They have a large menu, with photos to help you make your choices. Everything was plated beautifully and tasted amazing. I can't wait to go back and try some of their fish dishes. I was told they get fresh fish on a regular basis. read more

My husband placed a pickup order from here today. We ordered the beef shawarma and chicken tikka plates as well as lentil soup, baba ghanoush, and hummus. I'm going to just start with this: the servings are CRAZY BIG!! I'm easily getting two servings out of the chicken tikka. The soup was really flavorful without being salty at all, very aromatic. My husband inhaled it without breathing. Everything was delicious. The chicken was juicy and beautifully seasoned, the baba ghanoush was smokey and the pitas soft and chewy in a good way. You better believe we'll be picking up from here again! Also I'd like to point out that even the rice had an amazing flavor. Layalina is breathtaking when you walk in. There is plenty of floor space for dancing. Their Middle Eastern cuisine is spot on! I recommend the lamb. The hummus is so fresh you won't want store bought again. Their charming staff is attentive and kind. It is ideal for big parties or a nice evening for 2. It is the size of a ballroom. The food at Layalina was so incredible it nearly brought tears to my eyes. The Platter of Love truly lives up to its name -- you can taste the passion and care the chef puts into every dish. If you haven't gotten to Layalina yet you're missing out on some of the best food in Phoenix. Got the Platter of Love and a starter of hummus for my wife and I.. home for 5 mins and my kids are already devouring the copious amount of leftovers. We lived in a prominent middle eastern neighborhood in NYC before Phoenix and I can say with certainty that this is the best middle eastern food we've had here, bar none. Before you spend any money at whatever halfassed chain restaurant you usually visit, come here first and walk away with full bellys at very reasonable prices. You won't be disappointed. read more

Amazing food and wonderful service! We first saw this place on TikTok because of their famous "Platter of Love," and we just had to try it. For $68 (before tip), we ordered an appetizer, the Platter of Love, and dessert, and still left with plenty of leftovers. Probably could have fed 4-5 people off it. The staff was incredibly kind and walked us through the menu, answering all our questions. Everything we tried was delicious, but the dates with tahini sauce are a must-try, so unique and flavorful! I'm usually not a fan of lamb, but even I enjoyed theirs. The yellow rice was my absolute favorite, especially paired with the juicy beef kabob it came with. Awful service. We decided to host a birthday here. The owner wanted us to close all the tabs before they bring out our cake. That's terrible service. You do not threaten your customers to pay their tab first and hold the cake as a hostage. Who runs a business like that? On top of that the server with the curly hair(the daughter of the owner) was absolutely rude and has no business serving customers if she has a nasty attitude with everything. There were so many mess ups with the drinks too. On top of that, we were denied hookah because they were "busy". One of the gentlemen from our party asked for the hookah and the owner told him verbatim "go away i don't have employees for the hookah." The place was not busy. Our party plus another were the only two in the place waiting for food. Moments later we were told we can have hookah but the catch was that it will ONLY be served AFTER dinner. Basically, It's on their time, not the customers'. Once we had our hookah NOT A SINGLE PERSON checked on us nor did they change our charcoals. We basically wasted money on the hookah since we were only given the three charcoals to smoke from the beginning. The servers were coming outside to make sure the bills were paid though. They had no issue with that but couldn't care less about the hookahs we ordered. It was over an hour before our main course was brought out. They gave us appetizers and that was it for an hour and 15 minutes. The server told us they were not busy today other than our big party. The old owners for moonlight were better and accommodating to parties. This is the last time i ever come and i will never ever recommend this place to ANYONE. If you want bad service go ahead and come here. Anytime someone recommends this place I will make sure they do not come. I can't believe the disrespect and awful service. The lamb also tastes AWFUL and smelled so bad. The entire party avoided taking the food home because it was sub par. Only one family from our party decided to take food home because they felt bad from how much food was left over that we did not like. read more

we decide as a Friend and family last Night to go to Layalina Restauran I wish we didn't go the place wasn't full the Singer did great but the service was horrible no staff only 2 server for entire place the Owner was standing by the door to collect cover charge that's fine he never dresses like he supposed always with shorts and t-shirt never comes to your table to see how is the service he over charges $25 Dollars per person cover charge I been to please like this many times they only charge $10 dollars per person as a group we had bad experience at this place also we only see our server twice and we where at the place more than 3 hours I always say this word you see this face you will never seen it again. read more

We come every Thursday for bingo and the food and the atmosphere is really great, and our server Darlene is very welcoming and friendly.
