I thought the overall concept and setup were great, and I really loved the bar itself. The food was solid--my favorite was the Brussels sprouts tempura. The drinks were good, though for the price point I expected a bit more polish and expertise. My only major complaint is the bar layout. Tried Jinya Ramen Bar at Trailhead in Peoria last night and overall it was a fantastic experience. Only small downside: sitting at the bar during sunset means there's no shade, so the sun coming through the windows can be a little blinding. That said, everything else absolutely delivered. We ordered the Brussels sprouts tempura, crispy chicken and a Jinya bun, and every bite was excellent. Drinks were just as strong with a Sapporo beer, the E Tomo E Tomorrow, a smoky Old Fashioned and a Flying Violette, all well made and worth ordering again. First time eating here for a date night and this place is fantastic. We tried a few things on the happy hour menu - impossible tacos, which my wife loved; tempura brussel sprouts which were a little too salty; spicy creamy tempura shrimp were phenomenal. Me and my son went on a Saturday night at about 6:30 pm. It was super busy. Was told was a 30-35 minute wait. We waited 15 minutes. We sat at the community table. Now as a short person this was hard to maneuver but still was fun. We ordered some pork Gyoza, I ordered a Sparkling Apple Saki. My son got a Hokusuru Saki. Both very good. His was dry My son order the Tonkotsu Red and I ordered the Wonton Ramen and added an egg and bok choy. My son said his was very good nice spice he got a level 4. Mine was nice I could have used some fish sauce or hoisin. But we both finished our ramen. The things that I would could be improved upon is the level the music is. New location in Phoenix! We went there the first week they opened, they were quit busy so we got our orders over 30 mins. The staff was friendly though he was so busy to even get our drink. We got Cha Cha Cha and the JINYA tonkotsu black ramen, the broth of tonkotsu was flavorful but not too heavy, the cha Cha Cha is basically for garlic lovers cause they gave us a can of fresh garlic to press and make mince garlic to add in the broth. My husband loves garlic so he added the whole can of garlic lol... the garlicky flavor elevated the flavor of broth, so strong but so good. Their seasoned eggs were cooked well and tasted great, the chasu was average. The crispy chicken was good but nothing too special. Grand Opening of this place and had to go on day one! This neighborhood has been waiting for a place like this. The same food on every corner is getting old, so thankful Jinya Ramen Bar opened! We had a great experience with customer service, speed of service, food, atmosphere- all of it! Fun music playlist and fun vibe all around. This could be casual or dressy. Lots of seating indoors and outdoors as well. The ramen broth was delicious and I loved that they gave you 3 different sauces so you can create your own additional flavor as well. The small plates were so good- so many options we will need to go back to try others. Same with the Ramen, there are so many different recipes! The drink menu looked fun as well, but we were on a fast lunch break. If you're having a party, there is a super unique square table on the patio that sits 16 people around a fire pit that you can have a meal around! We grabbed seats at the bar and honestly... Zach and Will might be the best bartenders I've ever had anywhere. Not even exaggerating. They're such a solid team, super friendly, totally on top of everything, and clearly know what they're doing. The drinks were so good (like the kind where you immediately want to order another to try something different). The vibe was great, the staff across the board was excellent, and even when we did a to-go order, the food was absolutely delivered. Everything was fresh, packed well, and just as good at home as it was in the restaurant, which says a lot. Also, do yourself a favor and join their rewards program. Just some comments before I get into all the GREAT things about this Restaurant, A little noisy, Avianna our server is going to see if they can turn it down a little. They did a little, acoustic's are bad but I love the ambiance, the lighting is phenomenal. Who ever washes the windows could do a better job, especially when the sun is setting, really noticeable then. The noise when something is done or an order is ready is also annoying. First of all their CS Staff is "FANTASTIC" they don't take reservations but you can go on a waitlist and they try and get you in as quickly a possible, the establishment is very clean and well organized, their patio area is gorgeous and comfortable with fireplaces, etc. love the ambiance overall, great bar area, very cool. We stopped in last night for dinner with our daughter and were so happy we did. We arrived about 430 so there was no wait at all. Our server Jacob was very attentive and helpful with explaining things since this was our first visit. The vibe felt like we were back in a ramen bar in Japan. All of us got the Tonkatsu Black ramen and there was not a scrap of food left. They also came out super fast which was great. The flavor was good and honestly got even better the more you ate. I also appreciated that I could add hot sauce or the red chili oil if I wanted since they had it out on the table. Just a couple of drops of the red chili oil made the ramen even better. We also tried the Matcha Tiramisu and Green Tea Mochi and both were great. I also loved that even though it was a weekend they still offered Happy Hour specials. My husband also tried a flight of beers on tap and the pours were very generous for the cost. We will definitely be back. Our server was lovely, she was attentive and timely. My review has nothing to do with the servers. That's about the end of the good. Plan on ordering a migraine, because you'll get one anyway. The kitchen has full blown alarms cooking the noodles I think, that blare loudly every couple of minutes. It's truly awful. It doesn't matter what the food tastes like if you are bring assaulted by what sounds like a fire alarm the entire meal. The owners/management should fix this immediately or they will slowly go out of business. No one likes constant alarms. I tried Jinya out for lunch last week. Food was great with plenty of options for everyone. The staff was attentive and answered my newby questions. Thayer did a great job with the Interior, and outdoor dining area. They are new and have some kinks to work out but that's expected. The only issue I had was the chant they do when someone leaves. It annoyed myself and the couple sitting next to me at the bar. It reminds me of a wacky restaurant that sings happy birthday at your table. It's unnecessary. My wife and I fell in love with jinya from their location in downtown. This review is based off several experiences not just one time, service for food is slow. Broth and food is inconsistent. Waiter service has always been less than attentive. Getting the check can be slow as well. I don't like writing poor reviews, we just hold jinya to a high standard because the downtown location kills it every time. I came in ready to slurp noodles, live my best ramen-girl life, and maybe even find a new neighborhood obsession. I enjoy a vibe, but not when I'm trying to figure out if my ramen is actually lukewarm or if my eardrums are just numb. Now... enter Jennifer, our waitress and the singular reason this is not a zero star novella. This woman deserves hazard pay AND a throne. Friendly, warm, knows the menu like it's her Bible, and checked on us constantly with genuine care...not that "corporate forced smile" energy. If JINYA had any sense, she'd be running the entire establishment. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to anything Jennifer delivered. I ordered the lunch special Tonkatsu Black with tapas (salmon taco, gyoza, crispy chicken). My husband got the Tonkatsu Red. - Crispy chicken: Good! The only win. - Gyoza: Cold, which is a choice... a wrong one. - Salmon taco: The texture said absolutely not, and the flavor agreed. - Ramen: This is where my soul left my body. The broth was barely warm and completely bland...no richness, no depth, no comfort, nothing. The pork was dry. The noodles were off putting. I kept staring at my bowl like it might suddenly self correct if I manifested hard enough. Spoiler: it didn't. Neither of us finished. We didn't take boxes. We didn't even pretend. We had such a great first experience at JINYA Ramen Bar. We sat at the bar and had Zephan as our server and bartender and he kept the vibes super high! Super attentive, funny, and made the whole visit feel really enjoyable. We ordered the gyoza, the Tonkatsu Black with an egg added, and the Tonkatsu Red at m spice level 7. If you don't love spicy food, just know level 7 is hot. Like really hot. But still delicious. The ambience was great and for only being open three days, they are doing such a good job. I know this is a Ramen chain. I'm familiar with it from Los Angeles and I actually like it. I always get the wonton chicken Ramen and today was no different. We opted to go during happy hour from 3 to 6 PM. Some of the items are offered at a lower price, including the small chicken Ramen for nine dollars. We started with a few appetizers, which included the cucumber salad, temporary, Brussel sprouts, and crispy, spicy, tuna. All of the appetizers were delicious and good to share amongst three people. We seem to have had two servers throughout the meal, but one with a strawberry blonde hair was the main server and she was absolutely so nice and friendly. Cool vibes although the music was very loud with the restaurant being empty. We opted to get the small chicken Ramen and then add a toppings to it, including three chicken wontons and a soft egg. It was the perfect portion. The broth was rich. The noodles slightly chewy. And then we finished the meal off with the Matcha tiramisu. What a cool addition to the Northwest Valley! My husband and I stopped in on a weeknight. We were able to get seated right away and caught the tail end of happy hour. The staff and servers were delightful, very friendly and helpful. Shout out to Nick, who helped guide us through the menu. We started with drinks- the green tea lychee lemonade (nonalcoholic) and the Lychee cocktail. Both were fantastic and had super fun presentations. We did the pork bun and tuna rice appetizers. We visited JINYA Ramen Bar with our family after specifically calling ahead to ask about gluten free options. On the phone, we were told there were multiple gluten free choices available, which made me feel comfortable enough to give it a try. Unfortunately, once we arrived and asked what could actually be made gluten free, we were told there was essentially only one option available. As someone who had recently gotten sick from another restaurant incorrectly handling a gluten free order, I made it very clear that this was important and asked if they could properly flag my meal for the kitchen. The staff did not seem knowledgeable or confident about gluten free handling, and when I asked if they had tamari instead of regular soy sauce, they looked confused and didn't seem to know what it was. That alone made me uneasy about how seriously food allergies or sensitivities are handled here. The meal itself was also extremely disappointing. What I received was basically plain rice with shredded chicken and scallions, no sauce, no egg, no flavor, and nothing close to what was advertised or worth the price. It honestly felt like an afterthought rather than an actual gluten free meal. To make matters worse, nobody tried to offer an alternative, accommodate the issue, or make the situation right after the confusion around the menu options. Sadly, after eating here, I did end up getting sick. I understand cross-contamination can happen, but if a restaurant advertises gluten free options, there should be better communication, training, and care taken when handling those orders. I would strongly caution anyone with celiac disease or serious gluten sensitivities before dining here. read more

The list of add ins was nice! I added an extra egg. The crispy chicken was just meh. I love karaage but this was bigger pieces and just not as tender. Still decent. Preferred it with just the lemon and a tiny bit of gyoza sauce over what it was served with. The music is too loud. The service wasn't AWFUL but it wasn't notably good (asked for refills, kind of rushed for the check during shift change etc)...and the shouting of arigato as guests leave feels a little much lol. For the main dish, we had to try the ramen. We had the Tan Tan Men and the Spicy Chicken. The Tan Tan has a nutty flavor reminiscent of sesame cold noodles, with an upgrade of pork. You could tell in the taste the birria was made correctly. So many places just use pot roast these days and call it birria. The egg in the Tonkotsu was perfectly soft boiled.
