    Family meal.
    Joshua L.

This place has got some tasty chicken strips and French fries at a reasonable price. The day we got food from here, we went through the drive-thru and there was a bit of a line but it went relatively quickly, which was nice. I only have a few complaints about this place that aren't really all that big of a deal but since I only gave them four stars I figure I would at least say why. My first complaint being that the chicken strips aren't as big as I feel like they could be, which seems to be a theme with chicken strip places these days. I mean several of our chicken strips were about the size of two McDonald's chicken nuggets which was a little disappointing but the flavor was great so I looked past it. The french fries are, in my opinion, a bit over-seasoned but once again, small issue. They were still delicious, just a bit salty. and my last complaint, which was probably only an issue for us, we were short one chicken strip. Naughty, naughty, somebody didn't count correctly.

    4 finger meal!

When I walked in with my family, the signage and ambience didn't exactly blow me away, but once we received our food, it was a different story. There are complimentary chips and salsa with your entrée-the chips were fresh, hot, and delicious, especially when paired with some of the various salsas. My wife, toddler son, and I split 5 corn tacos and a barbacoa Regio Platter, which was plenty of food for us. The barbacoa was top notch, moist, flavorful, and better than I've had at many "proper" restaurants. The charro beans served alongside were far better than I expected, as well. Slow cooked beans with ham? At a fast food joint? Oh yeah! The tacos were tasty. While some of the meat was a little dry, that's kind of expected anywhere that serves tacos. The grilled onions, cilantro, lime, and salsa take care of that dryness. Prices are a bit lower than what you'd pay at a sit down restaurant, and the servings we received were generous- we're talking tacos packed with meat. Service was fast, friendly, and helpful. If you're in the mood for Mexican and are passing through Rockwall, this Pollo Regio is a great choice!

On 5/4/25 I ordered 5 tacos and about three hours after eating my GF and I were both sick. The tacos had a very strong smell. On two previous occasions we found chicken bones in the tacos which could have been very dangerous. The employees are incapable of getting the details of orders correct as we have always asked for pica de gallo instead of grilled onions and the closest they got was removing the grilled onions and adding hot sauce. As I reflect back on our experiences this might be the most dangerous place I have ever been to!? We will never return!

As a retired chef, I know great food, and this place is the real deal. The chicken is crispy, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and never greasy. The mac and cheese was good and worth the additional dollar charge. I also liked how the biscuit was super soft and not dry. The Mike Sauce and Honey Mustard complimented the chicken and fries well so I'd recommend those. I went during peak lunch hours and it was super busy. Despite that, I got my food quickly along with it being fairly spacious so there were many tables available to sit at. The parking lot is small though so I'd recommend carpooling if possible!

The staff is always friendly and pleasant, and you can tell they genuinely enjoy working here. There are plenty of seating options: a cozy bar area, three separate dining rooms, a large patio with its own bar, and even picnic tables out back. I think the upstairs may be reserved for private events. Every time I visit, I end up ordering the same thing because it's just that good--the Naked Chicken three-piece. Absolutely delicious! I'm also glad they now offer two sides with your entrée for a small extra charge. The mac & cheese and green beans are both amazing. I've tried a cocktail or two, but usually skip them since the portions are small for the price. Overall, this is such a fun, charming spot with consistently great food. Brick and Bones Backyard is a blue house on the corner of Main St. in Rowlett, Tx, that has been transformed into something magical. This Mexican-Inspired "chicken shop" is offering fried & rotisserie chicken, classic cocktails, and live music in a rustic setting. The menu is diverse and offering all things chicken that is brined 24 hours, fried and can be order breaded or naked( for the gluten-free in you). They also have rotisserie chicken, tenders, sandwiches, salads, bowls and wings, along with unique sides. Poblano mashed potatoes, habanero mac n cheese, mexican corn, etc... often garnished with fresh radish and cilantro around out the menu, with top notch service to boot. Mi marido ordered the breaded fried chicken, mexican corn and poblano mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken was well seasoned with a great crunch. The potatoes had good flavor, but were barely warm. I can imagine their greatness heated. The mexican corn on the other hand was the real elote deal! The fresh snap of sweet corn, dosed with cotija cheese and spices lives up to the hype! Sweet, spicy, savory, it hit all the flavor profiles. I had the naked chicken with an order crinkle fries(faves) which was greatly appreciated for it's gluten-freeness and flavor. However, it was abit overcooked. Which left it thready and a little dry. The sauce that accompanied it, was needed, but shouldn't have been, while the fries were fresh, but undercooked. The concept and flavors make Brick & Bone standout on the chicken front. Better execution can make it a cut above the rest. Check It Out!
