I cant believe we took so long to visit this place in our neighborhood! I am so glad we visited this past weekend. Service was excellent. The covered patio also looked inviting, but not in August Texas weather. The waiter and other staff checked on us frequently. We did try the "healthier" items but there were very good and cannot wait to go back to try their fried items!

Bricks & Bones? I expected ribs, burgers, bricks? It is only chicken. Super cute atmosphere with outdoor tables and games for the kiddos. Service started extremely friendly but then they forgot we were on the patio. Once they remembered, it was very good. The bad, food comes in takeout containers with plastic cups and forks. Unfortunately, it doesn't taste good either. I had the Barnyard Salad, no flavor at all. The rotisserie chicken was reheated on a flat ground and was dried out shreds. $12ish. My hubs had the 3 piece house special chicken, waay overcooked in grease that needed to be filtered or changed. $11 with no sides. If you are serving fast food, the price needs to reflect that. Please see pics.

Took myself to dinner. Really cute place. There's ample seating outside in the yard and on the patio. The place is dimly light really romantic but yet casual. Loved the aesthetics . There was live music. A man playing guitar singing country music. My server was Isaac, he was a doll. He provided amazing service. There was also a lady I imagine is a manager she was also the bomb. I had two bourbon cocktails. They must have a real mixologist because the drinks were pretty, well balanced, tastes great, and delivered on the spirit lol. The chicken was really juicy, loved the skin. It's served with hot sauce, lime, cilantro (all these were a good accompaniment) I also had their bowl. It was extremely filling. You will definitely have a take away. Lastly I took home their crème strawberry dessert. You can't miss with that combination. There were other things on the menu that sounded interesting I will be back to try.

First time here and we'll definitely be back. The covered patio area is super chill -- lots of natural light, TVs for the game, and a nice breeze with the open sides. It's a great setup whether you're just grabbing lunch or hanging out for a while. I had the chicken and waffles and they were amazing. Perfectly crispy chicken, fluffy waffles, and the house-made hot sauce added the right amount of kick without being overwhelming. My wife got the Backyard Salad and really liked it -- super fresh and the rotisserie chicken was really flavorful. Not sure what the dressing was, but it worked! Service was friendly, and we felt relaxed the whole time. Just a solid spot all around. Brick & Bones gets a perfect rating from us.

    Mexican Corn

All of the service staff were friendly and engaging. Everyone seemed to be vibing positively. I randomly ordered the Chicken & Waffles along with a side of beans and a side of Mexican corn. My friend ordered the Chimichurri Chicken Sandwich The portion sizes for our entrees were really large. One might say they would definitely be shareable. I highly recommend the Chickek and Waffles. Maybe syrup on the side to avoid any late-meal sog, although it was delicious sogginess all the same. Mexican Corn was very refreshing. I didn't like the beer-like flavor of the beans personally. The Chimichurri Chicken Sandwich was cut in half and was so large that it was nearly like two full-size sandwiches. They had little wagon-wheel shaped chips that were like bland, flavorless puffs. The ambiance was dark with dim lighting. It looked like the place had a bottom and upper level separated by staircase. There was an outdoor seating area with a patio. Parking is really tight in the rear. Altogether about $50 for two. Really enjoyed the Chicken and Waffles.

Sexy chicken and the Chimichurri chicken sandwich were pretty good. The service was great and quick. Ambiance was quaint and cozy. Good atmosphere and great beer selection. Definitely worth trying them out! I think this will be a great spot to stop and have a couple beers and hang out on the patio.

Amazing food every single time!!! Today I got to try the chimichurri chicken sandwich and it was absolutely perfect. The waiter even recommended subbing the pinwheel crisps for the fries and getting extra chimichurri to dip them in. It was a great suggestion. I absolutely love the ambiance and the entire vibe this place gives off. The service has always been top notch every time I've been. I can't recommend Brick & Bones Backyard enough.

Hot chicken, chimichurri chicken sandwich, poblano mash potatoes, habanero bacon mac

Hidden gem in Rowlett!!! Didn't even know this spot had popped up here but I'm glad it did because the food is so freaking good! I got the hot chicken, chimichurri chicken sandwich, poblano mash potatoes, habanero bacon mac, and Mexican corn. Yes, this was a lot of food for 2 people and no, we didn't finish it all. But no regrets! Everything was pretty good! The hot chicken was not spicy, but it did have some nice seasoning. The chimichurri sandwich was my personal (main dish) favorite. The mashed potatoes was good, just a little bland. They pair well with the meal though. The Mac and cheese was good, but the Mexican corn was the star. So delicious and vibrant!

Service was excellent. They sat us right away on the second floor. Ambiance and lighting is cozy. Food was good. It is missing more sauce options as it can be a bit bland. All drinks (except cocktails) come in cans, no fountain drinks. Will give them a try again.

Amazing food and really cute place. Decently priced for what you get. Can be loud in outside seating during traffic hours.

Very secluded feeling, & safe Food: I got the smash burger with fries, she got the fish tacos, that came with chips and salsa. Both were delicious! The meat on the burger could've used extra salt though lol Prices: $10-25. The burger had 2 patties on it, & it was $16, so well worth the price. You do get quite a bit of food for your buck, from what I noticed looking at other plates Ambiance: we sat on the patio, overlooking the lake. It was very nice, & relaxing. The bar inside had tables available, but it was pretty lively in there lol a group was playing music in the corner, & it was getting crowded by the time we left. A good spot to grab a drink apparently. The clubhouse was very nice though. Very clean, & relatively fancy feeling. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at 501, and it's definitely worth checking out. The atmosphere was perfect, and our server, Robert Campbell, was outstanding. He was friendly, attentive, and knew the menu very well. We started with the house salad and split the blackened chicken fettuccine with added shrimp -- absolutely delicious. And the dirty martini was made perfectly. We truly enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend 501 to anyone living in the Heath or Rockwall area looking for a great dining experience.

Since we were going to the show, why not go for dinner? I mean we have never been. Love that you can book reservations online. Super easy to get through the gate and it has amazing views. We were greeted by the host who was so kind. The place was super busy, I assume due to the show. So, we had to wait about 10 minutes. Table right in the middle of action... 1 min... 2 min... 7 minutes no greeting nothing and a woman walks by and says she will be right us. Cool. Thanks for letting us know. Walks past us 4 more times and nothing. The good thing is clearly someone else noticed and brought us water and said she was helping while the server got caught up. Okay. Everything will be OK. Whole ordering our drinks the server took over. Ordered drinks. App and 2 entrees. Then she was gone. 30 minutes after seating... nothing. Not even drinks yet. 32 minutes... she brings my husband's can of beer. No glass. No manhatten. She says they are working on mine. After 32 minutes (at least 20 minutes after ordering our drink)... can we have a glass? 5+ minutes later she brings me my manhattan... in a wine glass? Before I smell it I ask if its a manhattan because it looked like wine (damn good pour). Her response... I don't know. Never had one before. And still no glass. A. The Manhattan was fabulous and a ridiculously amazing pour. And for the cost... damn. Thats amazing. We decided she never rang in our drinks. Its the only thing that makes sense. It had really quieted down and the bartenders were working hard. And thats fine. But own it. Another 40 minutes and she stopped by once. Said our food was coming. But honestly haven't had a server who seemed to care less about her table in quite a while. Food came about 45 minutes after ordering. We ordered the Philly egg rolls... flavor was awesome. But they were cold. Clearly they had been sitting... for a while. Literally the cheese had melted onto each other and cooled. The entrees came at the same time. Smash burger and chicken fried chicken. Both honestly really good. The mashed potatoes were cold though... not sure if its because they werent kept warm in the prep station or if our plates just died waiting on server. Flavors were good though, including the gravy and fries. Good seasoning. We asked for ranch. Can you believe she never brought it? Nope us either. Seriously. The service was the worst we had in a while. It seemed exlusive to our table/server. I finally got her name at the end... Leandra. I am not trying to put her on blast everyone has a bad night. When my husband asked about the ranch. She said oh I forgot that too.. no apologies for that or the entire night. I said well it has been a rough night... she said yep. Here's the check. We are super nice... lots of grace... but this service made me almost want to not return. But... this is a small business trying to create something for our community. So im going to return oncs more and score is based on potential. But please owners.... staff is hard to come by, and maybe it was a rough night... but no one will survive if 30 minutes with not even drinks and cold food is acceptable. Its a beautiful space, flavorful food and great energy im very hopeful.

This is just Louisiana Fried Chicken, you can see there is another entry in here with that name and the reviews are not nearly as kind. Service was perfectly fine, the place is small but seemed clean enough. There endeth the passable things. I ordered spicy fried chicken 3pc (LWT), red beans and rice and a pint of gumbo (holy trinity, chicken, sausage, crab and shrimp - more on that to come and it isn't good). Those are a trinity for me, if you will, when sampling and then judging Louisiana fried chicken places. So, Enter Sandman... I got food poisoning, which is an automatic 1. I don't like to give them out, but for extreme circumstances; this being one of those circumstances. The food: The fried chicken was not golden brown it was dark brown, which says old oil/grease. It was bitter, but edible. I ordered spicy, and if they consider whatever I got as spicy, they need to dial it up. I detected no spice. The lady at the counter asked if I wanted hot sauce, I said yes, but it didn't meander its way into my order. The red beans and rice... I don't know what kind of black roux they use and how hard they cook the rice for it to be this mushy. It smelled like it should be good, but I had to add my own Cajun seasoning and some Tobasco to liven it up, even still it was more of, "I paid for it so I'm going to eat it" at this point. Popeye's RB&R is WAY better, and that Popeye's on the corner isn't even a good Popeye's. Now what I believe to be the criminal, the file seafood, chicken, sausage (note I didn't say Andouille, because this was straight up garbage Eckrich). It was a pint, and it was almost black (me assuming because they made a file gumbo, now I'm not so sure). It was packed with a thick mush of *mostly*, onion, celery and green pepper. Scattered among them were stringy pieces of boiled chicken, 2 or 3 pieces of sausage, I did not identify if there was indeed any crab in there because I never saw it and two soggy ass fried shrimp on top. I should've just tossed the whole thing in hindsight. I did pitch the shrimp. I didn't trust how they looked. I dumped the pint (it had that odd colored overcooked rice too), i added quite a bit of water, brought it to a boil, reduced to simmer. I had to add seasoning to this as well as some tobasco. I ate about 1/3 of it or so, then just pitched the rest. *a few hours later (said in that French accent you're now reading it in)* I'm pounding Nauzene, and pounding the toilet. Let's say, oh... about 8 -9 hours? The easiest way to explain how long. As the very unpleasantries began, I put on John Wick, I watched all 4 before finally being *done* and able to go to bed about 0500. Suffice to say, I will not be back. I give this two thumbs down and a raspberry.

Really fresh. The banana pudding is nothing but whipped cream, bananas and wafers... don't be disappointed and save your money.
