I looked over the menu here beforehand and it seemed to have exactly what I was looking for. The place was nice and clean inside. I can't remember our waiter's name, but he did a great job. Drinks stayed full, and the kitchen had the appetizers and entrees coming out with perfect timing. Nothing felt rushed and we weren't sitting around waiting either. We started with the shrimp quesadillas. They were well filled and had great flavor. My wife tried a couple of different cocktails that I can't remember the names of. I know her second one had elderflower in it, and she really enjoyed both. I stuck with their Strawberry Blonde beer throughout the night. The strawberry flavor was a little stronger than I expected, but apparently not strong enough to stop me from having three of them. My wife ordered the crawfish étouffée, which she enjoyed and completely finished. I went with the Snapper Pontchartrain, and it was incredible. I highly recommend this dish. I had the hobo potatoes and broccoli slaw for my sides. The hobo potatoes weren't quite what I expected, but they were fine. That broccoli slaw, though, was delicious. I definitely recommend giving this place a try. Solid service, tasty food, and I always appreciate a local spot brewing its own beer. Support local, y'all.

For Valentine's Day me and my partner decided, like last year to go to Corpus Christi for two…read morereasons: we thought Valentine's Day would not be crazy and the ocean is our happy place. Of course I was wrong. Our usual spot was packed to the brim but as usual we had a good time. The next day the trip to our usual pit stop was unceremoniously closed. Our hunger meter was slowly approaching towards "Hangry." The day before we noticed a place in a restaurant group called "B&J's" that offered pizza, grinders( a Michigan Staple) and brewed their own craft beer. When we got there before opening at noon, cars slowly started to fill up available parking spaces. I always see this as a good sign. In addition I always survey a menu before I go to any spot. My opinion is that it is always good to have a Plan B just in case a situation arises. And with traveling, there will always be variables So we went inside and it was not at all what I expected. A brewpub, to me denotes a seemingly mature crowd. Instead families were visiting to have parties. I saw a couple there for a date. Every demographic young and old was represented. It was extremely welcoming. So I ordered their lunch special that comes with a drink and an 8 inch pizza. And my partner went with an Italian Grinder. It's basically counter service. And you sit where you want. Me, like Norm from "Cheers" I am drawn to where the tapwall is. The interior feels like a lived in pizza joint with lots of stories. There is ample seating but judging by the birthday parties happening it fills up quickly. By the time I got to the bar's counter all the lights were on. Hanging from the ceiling was a chandelier made of taphandles of all the breweries that have traversed here. I wondered how some of those places regionally, nationally and locally made it here? Corpus Christi is like an island with hidden gems abound. No matter. I pounded on thee counter as any seafaring matey from San Antonio, Texas would do. They have a good selection of beers on tap and in cans. The tapmaster, Mikey poured me a pint of the Red Eye PA, an Imperial IPA. No sooner did my pour come to me that the food also arrived. My pizza was good as well as the grinder. The service is excellent here. Firstly tapmaster Mikey was an extremely friendly and knowledgeable server. I can tell he is passionate about the beers and food served there. As a craft beer enthusiast I enjoy talking to likeminded people. And talking to him was like having a conversation with a walking encyclopedia. He definitely made our detour worth the trip. We are already making plans to visit again soon. B&J's Pizza and Brewpub is an excellent place to bring families, friends, dates and birthday parties. The pizza is good. The beers are great. And the service is excellent. We had an amazing experience there. I think I have found a new spot when we are in Corpus Christi. ps. Any place that has a "Busted Sandal Brewing Co." sticker on their wall will get 5 stars from me, all day!

I just want to say that this place went ABOVE & BEYOND for my wife's graduation afterparty. We had decorations that we requested to be set up upon arrival to surprise our graduate and they set-up the tables beautifully and delivered! Our server, the tall gentleman with glasses (his name starts with an "A"), was absolutely INCREDIBLE and so attentive despite having numerous parties at once. The management was also so incredibly kind and catered so well to my families requests despite them being busy. On top of everything, the food was brought out so quick & was delicious. And so were the drinks! My father-in-law actually said he would drive an hour an a half just for the burger. My family was very happy and satisfied with our trip to BJ's in Corpus Christi and we will be regularly visiting this location in the future. I just have to say thank you, thank you, thank you for making this day so special for my family and I. We love you!!

And the manager we spoke to went above and beyond to make sure not only we were ok, but she was checking on so many tables and was in the back helping the kitchen. I'm sorry to her that we had these issues while it was so busy. Also the ambiance was excellent. Beautiful decor very simple yet elegant. I wish I tried the beer but i was upset and not hungry anymore. Story Time: we came to the restaurant ordered a lot of food. They had a sign on the table for the happy hour from 3 to 7 after we had ordered off of that happy hour menu we had found out that that menu is for the bar and patio it is not for dining. my chicken parmigiana with spaghetti had a long black hair in it which confused me because the man who brought it to me had like no hair. I had told our waitress about the hair and just asked for it to be taken off our bill that was the end of that conversation because she never came back to our table for the rest of the night which was about 45 minutes to an hour of us being there. The manager was kind enough to offer us not only the buffalo sliders, but she also asked if we wanted one of their famous pazookies which was of course phenomenal. Overall, the experience wasn't terrible I'm writing this so the situation will actually be followed up on. When the manager had brought our bill over. Again, our server was dealing with her other three tables so she was apparently too busy. So the manager was our correspondence that's when we found out about the specials but we had asked the manager a server our server who i went to ask for a box. And then we had to ask another server for a box and she brought us a bowl. All of this while our server was purposefully, avoiding our table going out out of her way, physically to not have to walk next to our table which was near the bar. She walked around other sections so that she didn't have to walk past us to go to the table that was behind us.

I'm an out-of-towner here for an extended stay in Goliad and have been in about a half a dozen times. I was fairly well accepted on my second or third time in and I've gotten to casually know a few people there have a good conversation over a beer. It's definitely my comfy spot here in town to relax and have a beer.

SEVERE SAFETY & CONDUCT ISSUES ON LATE-NIGHT SHIFT (8/28)…read moreI am deeply disappointed to write this, especially since I submitted an outstanding 5-star review of this exact property about two months ago praising the wonderful manager and server on duty at that time. Unfortunately, the late-night shift on Friday, August 28, demonstrated a shocking and dangerous breakdown in corporate standards and guest safety.I am a 67-year-old senior citizen, and I was dining with my two adult children between 11:40 PM and 12:14 AM. Because it was late, and it was listed as being open until. I deliberately approached the bartender before sitting down to make sure the kitchen still open, and we were not an inconvenience. During our visit, a male staff member displayed extreme, unprovoked verbal hostility. When I politely asked for clarification regarding his rude comments, he weaponized my age against me and aggressively told me "to act my age", when I commented that I've never received a check before my food before. The situation escalated from verbal harassment to physical aggression when the employee explicitly violated my personal safety by grabbing my arm to force a beverage glass out of my hand while it still had two inches of liquid left. To make matters worse, the employee actively attempted to hide his identity. We repeatedly asked for a standard receipt to get his name, but after three distinct requests, he deliberately handed us a bartender's transaction list that omitted his name entirely. Because he refused to provide his name, we were forced to take a photograph of his face on-site to preserve for formal corporate and legal reports. This individual also repeatedly abandoned his post to take frequent 5-minute breaks outside with a group of buddies (suspected on-duty vape/substance impairment), and his erratic behavior was a clear public safety risk. If you are a senior citizen or visiting with family, please be extremely cautious about patronizing this location during the late-night hours. The current staff on this shift entirely failed to maintain a safe, respectful, or professional environment. Corporate guest relations and risk management have been formally notified with photographic evidence, and a report is being filed with law enforcement regarding the unwanted physical contact.
