Fun spot to come by boat! I got a split bottle of champagne (it's about half the size of a normal bottle, about two glasses!) and for appetizers we shared conch fritters and garlic bread. The conch fritters were the best I've ever had! We went for lunch earlier today and I'm already in bed thinking about them and wanting to plan our next visit so I can get them again! For my main course I got the fried grouper sandwich, instead of fries I asked for a caesar salad. Super bummed because I was so excited to eat I forgot tot take a picture until I was almost done lol. Up until now, I've always been satisfied with this restaurant, Bookelia Lazy Flamingo, but during our meal last dinner, my wife ordered clams in marinara sauce. After bringing us our meals, the waitress came over to ask "how everything was going". My wife, who had the unpleasant surprise of finding a clam full of sand (see attached photo), said she was disappointed by the sandy clam. The waitress then asked her, "Do the others have sand in them too?" The meal had just begun; my wife had no way of knowing. We weren't asked any further questions except for the check at the end of the meal. I am extremely disappointed by this attitude, as it would have been appropriate to at least offer a new meal or come back to check how the rest of the meal was going. Great food! Highly recommend the ceaser with grouper! The only thing that brought my review down was the service. Our 1st server was extremely blunt and for some reason just left, we did not see her for the entire rest of our meal. My father had to go up to the bar to get a refill on his beer and to check if the oysters he ordered 20 minutes prior were coming and we had a second server come out. Our second server was extremely kind and refunded my dad for the oysters (which were brought out eventually) In summary great place good food, 4/5 stars. read more

After a successful day of fishing we brought our catch to this nearby restaurant for dinner. It was surprisingly not too crowded but I guess it was off season. The staff was very nice and helpful. After some drinks we ordered their garlic bread which was solid. I got the conch chowder - it was a very big serving and quite good with a bit of heat. We were able to get our fish prepared all four ways: mesquite grilled, bronzed, blackened and fried. At $11/10 ounces it was a good deal. We were out for a drive, looking for a new lunch place. And spotted the Lazy Flamingo. A small bar situated on a marina. And while it isn't exactly waterfront. You get a good view of boats coming and going. They have a pretty typical bar menu. We both stuck with our tried and true favorite, Grouper sandwich. I chose fried, my husband blackened. The food was delicious. It came out very hot. The grouper was sizable as well as the portion of crispy, tasty fries. The coleslaw was ok. Seemed a bit dry. Service was welcoming and prompt. My one complaint was that they offer both white and red sangria. I ordered the white. In no way would I consider what I had as "sangria". The only fruit was the garnish of an orange and a lime slice, on my glass. The sangria tasted like wine mixed with orange soda. We decided to go for a ride and take the Freck with us. So we headed out there on this beautiful blue sky no clouds warm afternoon. We usually go to the Pier and watch the pelicans, but today was different. We turned around and went to the Lazy Flamingo because they have some outside seating and are dog friendly. Our waitress Michele was very sweet and friendly and brought Freckles fresh water, Dave a beer and I had a glass of water with lemon. Dave ordered the fried Oyster platter with fries and Cole slaw. I had clams marinara over pasta. Both dishes were very tasty and accompanied by garlic bread. The view was lovely overlooking the marina. Lots of Pelicans, cranes and sea birds. We were staying in Cape Coral and we were looking for a great dive restaurant on the water. So glad we found this place on Yelp. First it wasn't easy to get to. Lots of hurricane destruction along the way. Great decor. Beautiful views. Lots of friendly staff. Izzy, our waitress was very attentive and kind. Lots of families and solo people and several groups of adults enjoying the seafood here. The steamed shrimp was phenomenal and the oysters were also delicious. Talk about amazing... The Bokeelia location rocked it for our crew that is use to going to Santiva. The waitresses were few but they worked their butts off ensuring that every table was taken care of. No one complained that's not my table.. Great job..The food amazing and reminds us of our favorite location on Santiva that is NO LONGER THERE:( Darn Ian. The buffalo shrimp appetizer, and the blackened grouper caesar salad were delicious. We stopped in on a lazy Friday while exploring Pine Island. It has a little bit of a dive bar vibe. The service was friendly, helpful and attentive. We got there just before the lunch rush. The restaurant abuts the marina. There isn't much of a "water view" because of the marina and nearby condo complex. It would have been perfect if there was a real water view. The food was good. We split an order of chicken fingers. The fries were HOT and crispy...the chicken fingers were fine; nothing to write home about. The Lazy Flamingo is a staple on Pine Island. Very fresh seafood. Not a full bar, but beer, wine, soda, iced tea, etc. The last time my husband and I ate there, I had the clams marinara. Which is very good. Their marinara sauce is excellent. My husband had the grouper platter. We enjoyed our meal. We sat outside and so you overlook the Four Winds Marina which is a beautiful Marina?. The service was pretty good. Our waitresses were attentive. The only downside is that they serve their food on melamine plates with plastic utensils. We had been here back in Mar of 2020 and it was great. Unfortunately our lunch on April 6th was not good. Service was a little slow but they were busy. We ordered two fried scallop meals, a salad with shrimp, and a Caesar salad. Both of the scallop orders were way over cooked making them tough. In addition the hinges had not been removed. Both salads had brown lettuce. When we asked for extra Caesar dressing what was delivered was some weird concoction that tasted sour and mustardy. Great views and cool restaurant. Fair prices too . My boyfriend had the triple tail sandwich and it was phenomenal. I got the triple tail Caesar salad and my fish was completely burnt down to coal. At that point we already waited for 30 mins for food and people who arrived after us and order after us have already gotten their order. We wanted to leave and had a long drive ahead of us so I was in no mood to sit and wait for a new dish. It's a shame that the chef felt comfortable serving burnt fish to his customers. I believe this is a chain, but we've only been to this location. We like to bring our boat up to the docks available and we usually go for lunch. We always sit at the bar and the bartenders are very attentive. Fast and good service. They have some craft beers on draft and you can taste them before you purchase as well. You're wondering if it's worth driving all the way to the end of Pine Island or if the Lazy Flamingo is even open after the devastation from Hurricane Ian in 2022. The answers: it's open and it's worth it. The place had a 45 minute wait when I called at 6:30 on a Saturday but when my party of four finally got its act together and arrived at 10 to 8, we waited only 5 minutes for a table to be cleaned up. We sat out on the porch and it was peaceful and lovely (but bring mosquito repellent if you're wise). Service was quick and accurate, and the beers were cold and reasonably priced (consider getting a bucket of beers for the best price). But I would drive a half hour and wait another 45 minutes just for the fried shrimp. My goodness. Butterflied, lightly battered and fried to perfection, these babies were so tasty and juicy and fresh, our table ordered a SECOND basket (without fries) to share. That good! The oysters on the half shell, garlic bread with chunky marinara, meaty and creamy clam chowder and blackened grouper sandwich were also big hits. They also offered bottled Matouk's green chili sauce at the table which was so flavorful, we bought two bottles to go! (Skip the Dead Parrot sauce; it was too hot to impart any real flavor.) Yelp says the Lazy Flamingo closes at 8 but Google has a different opinion. In any case, we were served in the 8 p.m. hour without getting the stink eye. read more

Beer is cheap, food is VERY reasonably priced, and service has always been sweet. I've come here many times (even bought my first fishing shirt from here). I've had the calm chowder, several fried fresh, fish dip, sandwiches, and everything has been great! I've never been one for oysters, never understood the hype and the texture always reminded me of something you cough up when sick, but my husband wanted to give it a shot and holy cow I'm glad we did! They were fresh and of great quality. We complimented them to the waitress and she said the cook is VERY picky about his oysters and only orders them from his special spots.
