I was at this restaurant a couple days ago with girlfriends. It was my first visit. We came for the custom boil meal. The food was good. The restaurant was clean. The problem arise when we received our bills. One of us received twice the amount of shrimp ordered. Of course, she did not realize she had 2 pounds of shrimp instead of the one pound she ordered. How many would realize how many shrimp are in 1 pound vs 2 pounds? Additionally we were chatting while eating and not 100% focused on the contents of our bags. When the bill was presented, my friend was surprised by the amount of her bill and brought this to the owner's attention He became verbally combative. By this I mean he asserted she should have known by looking at the dinner the difference between seeing one pound vs two. He insisted on charging her the much higher price initially. His counter offer was for him to take her bag to the kitchen and remove the remaining shrimp and adjust the bill. What would he be doing with these left over shrimp? Serving them to someone else in their meal perhaps? She chose to leave all remaining food at the restaurant and her bill was lowered. I see a few issues. First, how would a customer know there were too many shrimp? One would assume the kitchen would check the written ticket and properly prepare the order. Secondly, who is going to let kitchen staff rummage through their dinner, remove food and do who knows what to the returned food before it comes back to the customer? And third, this heated interaction was not a pleasant ending to our outing. I've never heard of a business not caring if three people leave unhappy. The owner was very argumentative and was not at all interested in customer satisfaction. We won't be back which is too bad as the food was good. But, since the waiter did not speak up and he wrote the order ticket. the kitchen staff didn't take the time to prepare the dinner properly, and the owner just didn't care if his customers were leaving happy, this is not a restaurant, in my opinion, to be recommended. read more

We love Master Crab! Fun atmosphere and great food! I had the 3 lobster tails- split between n the boil bag with the corn cob and two red potatoes for the very reasonable market price of $45.95. You pay $30 for a lobster roll sandwich in Maine! So this is definitely a great deal. My husband opted for the blue crab, crab legs and clams boil bag combo. We both get the master spent ce combo of medium Cajun spices, lemon and garlic butter combo. Very flavorful- good portions of food. Great drink specials daily. Went here with a family of 5 for a bday dinner. The crab legs were a hit but the crab cakes were not good and my fried fish dinner was so greasy I couldn't eat it. The lobster bisque was ok but too thick and the clam chowder was too thin. And something was wrong with the flavor of the water and therefore the iced tea. Not good. read more

This is definitely the best seafood boil in this area! The heat levels aren't consistent but I get medium just to be safe. I like hot but it's been so hot sometimes I can't eat it. Medium has been that way as well. The master crab special sauce is amazing. The sweet potato waffle fries are some of the best I've had and I get them every time as a dessert. The ambiance is nice and typical for a seafood boil joint. Our service was not bad this visit however upon being greeted by the server there was this mildew, rancid smell that was undeniable. When he came back with our plates and bucket I thought it was maybe dirty dish water and smelled all the dishes but nothing. I was like maybe it's dirty mop water, but the smell was only present when he was around. I came to the conclusion it was him. It was not a typical b.o. smell but rather a rancid, mildew smell like when u have stinky shoes that get wet. It was bad enough that when he came to the table I had to hold my nose and turn my head. It made me nauseous. There's no way his coworker didn't smell it!!!!! I told the mgr and hopefully she addresses it because that should not happen at a food establishment. Today, I opted for the extra spicy, because I've found most places don't live up to that advertising. Let me say, if you opt for the extra spicy, make sure you're ready for that! I love spicy food, but wow, this was an ass kicker. Service has always been great, but my male sever today was less than tip worthy, however, I still left one because that's how's I roll. 3 things about this place: 1. Master Crab is formerly known as Mr. & Mrs. Crab. Same management as before and the owner was very welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice although to-go order was made. 2. The quality of the seafood was fantastic. Crawfish and shrimp were ordered with the House Special sauce and the food was ready in 10 min. 10 minutes for food to get ready? I was super impressed and the bag was hot. Shrimp outnumbered crawfish as they were bigger in size and there was something about their shrimp. It was different than other seafood boil place I have been to in a good way. Hush puppies were crispy and good and went well with the ranch. 3. Price was amazing and I was pretty surprised when I saw their various menu items. However, I wish the sauce was a little more saucier to dip the meat. Sauce was a little light but the taste made it phenomenal. Prices are increasing so if you want the accurate price for your order, you have to go online and see the prices. We always each get a pound of snow crab legs with the master crab special sauce mild & some Cajun fries! It's always hot delicious, fresh, & tasty! The management is absolutely horrific and there's bugs crawling in the bathroom and near the kitchen where the bar is. During the hurricane they used the water that was not approved by the authorities in the area yet they still used it to cook their product and serve it to their customers. I would have given it a 5-star but they don't have vegetables and eggs available with their seafood boils. I went here for an office Christmas luncheon. I wanted to be disappointed by this place and was quite surprised how much I enjoyed the food. I had the sampler with snow crab, lobster and shrimp in the master crab sauce. This sauce was flavorful but not overpowering with all the seafood. The corn and potatoes were cooked perfectly. I am not a fan of just a plain seafood boil, but I think master crab steps it up a notch with the addition of some really good sauce mixtures. Appetizers were good. The cheesecake for dessert was just average. I would have given 5 stars if the bathroom would have been cleaner. That is the biggest thing I want to see when I go out is a clean facility. The bathroom looked like it had experienced high traffic and we were one of just a few tables there that day for lunch. I have to say when I went to this place I was nervous because at first it was completely empty but, it was clean. I ordered queen crab legs, with sausage, shrimp, and a hard boiled egg. You choose the seasonings; I ordered Cajun. They steamed it in a bag and I have to say, it was delicious. I ate all of it. The waiter stalked us about 5 times for order, after his second visit we told him we are first time diners and planning on ordering a couple of combos at a time. He never stopped. Went for a new years dinner, I was so excited to try this place. Their food is all purchased by Sysco (or some other restaurant supplier) - fried apps, Mac and cheese, fries, coleslaw, ranch, coconut shrimp, crab cakes. Every bit of it not made by them and at the most thrown in the fryer. Okay, so beyond that, this is a crab place so the crab has to be good at least, right? Our crab was so difficult to eat - the meat didn't come out of the shell well at all. I've never fought so hard for crab legs. Everyone else at our large table noticed it as well.
