Lazy Moon was easily one of the best thin crust pizzas I've had. The slices are absolutely HUGE, one slice could easily feed two people. The crust was perfectly crispy, which is exactly how I like it, and the pizza had great flavor. Service was quick, and we got our pizza faster than I expected. The atmosphere definitely has a fun college vibe, which makes sense being near UCF, but I could also see it being very kid friendly and comfortable for families. I also loved the decor, especially the real plants hanging along the walls. It gave the place a cool, relaxed feel and made the space stand out. Stopped by Lazy Moon Pizza and decided to sample a couple of their enormous slices along with a small Greek salad. If you've never been, "slice" is a bit of an understatement here. These things are huge, thin crusted, and unless you possess some serious pizza folding skills, best approached with a fork and knife. First up was Jason's Mom's Slice (JMS): tomato sauce, chicken, sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions, tomatoes, ranch, Jason's Mom's sauce, and mozzarella. Flavor wise, this was my favorite of the two. The caramelized onions were especially good, although I wish they had been distributed a little more evenly across the slice. My only real issue was the crust had quite a bit of sag. I suspect the large tomato slices placed directly on the crust released moisture as they cooked, making an already thin crust difficult to support. Next was the Meaty McMeatface Slice (MMS), loaded with tomato sauce, birria beef, ground beef, pepperoni, bacon, and mozzarella. They aren't kidding about the "meaty" part. The birria was the star and added a nice depth of flavor, but overall I found this slice a little dry. A side of Jason's Mom's sauce would probably have been the perfect companion, although it comes with an additional $1.50 charge. I also ordered the small Greek salad, which was anything but small. It came loaded with perfectly ripe tomatoes, red onion, cucumber, black olives, fetta and pepperoncini. The menu lists romaine lettuce, but what I received looked and tasted more like escarole or frisee, with a noticeable bitterness. I'm not certain what the green actually was, but it definitely didn't taste like romaine. The menu also mentions roasted red peppers, though I couldn't find any in my portion. I liked the dressing, but the salad could have used a little seasoning. I didn't see salt anywhere around the bar where I was sitting. Maybe there was some near the drink station, but apparently, I wasn't motivated enough to launch a salt expedition. The ordering process is straightforward. Walk in, order from the counter underneath the overhead menus, grab your drink, and find a seat. I asked for water and was initially handed a small plastic cup for the self-serve station. I asked if I could get a cold beer pint glass instead, and they happily accommodated the request. Thank you! A small gesture, but one I appreciated. There is plenty of seating, although the bar stools where I sat felt sufficiently rickety to make me question their structural integrity every time I shifted my weight. Total damage was about $37 including a 20% tip. To be fair, the portions are substantial. I boxed up leftover pizza and salad and finished them for breakfast the following morning, so there was certainly plenty of food. Still, for two slices and a small salad at a counter service pizza joint, the final tab felt a bit steep. Overall, some very good flavors and gigantic portions with a few execution and value issues. Jason's Mom won this round, although next time I might ask her to go a little easier on the tomatoes. And yes, giant cold pizza for breakfast remains one of life's underrated pleasures. read more

This was my first time in this location. I did not realize there was one close to UCF. A group of us came to get some quick lunch. The employees were super friendly. Arrived on a Friday night around 6:45. Not very busy at that time, only 1 group ahead of mine at the ordering counter. Making our selections was an easy process aided by a stellar employee, Alyssa. 10 stars for her. Her service was impeccable! Made us feel right at home. Our massive pizza slices arrived in decent timing. What we got: Mine- Cuban. I really enjoyed it. Nice crispness to the bottom. I even finished it (except crust, which isn't anything special). My daughter's- Jason's Mom's. The best by far. The touch of sweetness to the sauce makes it sooo good. Combined with the ample toppings, 1 bite had me wanting more. Hubby's- Meaty McMeatface. Fun name, but that birria meat comes out noticeably dry. This slice was our least favorite of the 3. You can be all proper and use a fork and knife to tackle the huge slices, but I prefer to dive in with my hands, folding the wedge to manage some bites. Gotta live a little! I've bought it 2 or 3 times in the past. 4 stars for eating in at night after a UCF football game, that's fun and the food is fresh. The worker recommended it because it had a lot of vegetables, true, but I was looking for a gooey cheesy ricotta/mozzarella indulgent lava filling like from previous places. It's been a while since my colleagues and I have eaten here, so I we have decided to visit again on a Wednesday evening. It was not crowded at all when we arrived, so we took a look at the menu from the digital screens, and I ordered a slice of the recommended buffalo chicken pizza (10.75) and the lazy mule (8 dollars for happy hour). I paid using the Inkind app, which was a godsend as I had some credits to use three. We sat in the back while waiting for the pizza. They were delivered to our table pretty quickly and those slices are still huge. My buffalo chicken pizza looked nice and I was able to use the knife and fork to cut and eat. The chicken was nicely grilled and had the mild kick from the buffalo sauce. The pizza got a lot crispier after the halfway point and it did scrape a little inside my mouth. But that's because I started eating with my hands afterwards to finish what was left. The lazy mule came in a glass instead of the usual copper mug. It tasted like the Moscow mule I enjoy, but a little lighter. The mule was still able to give me a short ride to happyland. After having both the pizza and mule, I am pretty sure I gained an extra 2 to 3 pounds. The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere still college casual. Parking was no issue in the strip either. I am glad Lazy Moon still has great pizzas and drinks at affordable prices. College students will enjoy the affordability and the great quality. This location is super close to UCF and would very convenient if you go there, which is probably why it's taken me this long to give them a try. We were instantly greeted while walking in and the process was explain. I was thrilled that I could create my own as I have a very unique favorite pizza. White pizza with broccoli and mushrooms! The pizza was cooked to perfection and had a nice little crunch and the veggies were fresh and cooked. My oldest tried their all meat slice and at the speed that he inhaled, I would say he loved it. One employee was obviously on break, sitting and eating at the bar. Finally, one person asked and I said I was there to pickup an order for 2 large pizzas. She asked if I'd paid in advance and I said yes. She disappeared into the back for a while... and finally came out with the pizzas. I accidentally ordered a whole pie not realizing this thing was so big it was the width of the table and could feed like a pop warner football team lol. My friend Matt decided to go gluten-free so I stopped at lazy Moon because I know they have a great gluten-free pizza crust. I got him the personal gluten-free pizza with extra mozzarella and normal marinara. For myself I got the personal slice which was $6.75 with banana peppers and jalapeños and dairy free cheese. I have always wanted to try Lazy Moon Pizza and I finally got the chance to and it was fantastic! It's open late which is also nice if you ever feel the need for pizza as well. The inside is very spacious with a ton of seating options. They also have a bunch of live plants on the wall which really adds to the welcoming aesthetic. They are known for their gigantic slices so I had to give them a try! I ordered a pepperoni slice and took a seat and I was shocked by how large it was when they brought it out! One slice is $7 plus .85 cents for a topping. I would say one slice is about 3 slices of a normal pizza so it's huge! I definitely couldn't eat two of them. I saw they also have a huge beer on tap selection which is also nice to know if you want a chill atmosphere with tap beer. If your looking for an experience this is the place. My grand nephew wanted pizza for dinner and claimed he usually eats three slices. Well I told him we can go where one slice equals three slices. I haven't been to Lazy Moon Pizza in years. Not because I don't like it, but because I do not make it out to this area often. A friend and I were in this part of town for an event and we were within walking distance to Lazy Moon, so we stopped in. It wasn't too busy for a Sunday afternoon; we placed our orders, grabbed a seat at a high-top, and our slices were ready in about 20-minutes. I ordered a slice of Jason's Mom's Pizza ($11.00). My slice was huge, for reference, I took a photo of the slice next to my hand. I'm estimating this slice is roughly 14", not bad at all. My pizza was hot, freshly cooked, and delicious. Staff serves the pizza on an undersized metal pizza dish with silverware in case you can't handle eating it like a true New Yorker, lol! My friend that was with me is from New Jersey and he couldn't believe customers were cutting their slice up with a fork and knife. We both were very happy with our choice. I would say that the only downside is that it is expensive, especially if you're a college student on a budget. Lazy Moon does offer the "build your own slice" starting at $6.75, the Saganaki Slice for $7.50, and the Boxcar Willy, which is served with a 16oz PBR ($8.00). A 20" Pie starts at $30 and a 30" pie starts at $39.75; if you add additional toppings the price skyrockets quick. Lazy Moon also offers sauce options such as Red, Pesto, BBQ, Mustard, and Ricotta which will increase your total price another $4-$5 depending on the size of the pie. There is plenty of seating here, some of it set up community style, so larger groups are welcome. The dining area was kept clean; however, the bathrooms were a bit dingy. The staff were friendly and service was great. All-in-all, I will definitely be back next time I am in the area. read more

Stopped in to my favorite pizza place and to my surprise it was bagel day! I ordered the bruschetta pizza bagel and my hubby ordered the hot pepper-roni! The goat cheese on the bruschetta made the flavor and the everything seasoning on the bagel matched with the oven crispiness was incredible! The hot pepperoni had lazy moons own hot honey sauce. Here's the thing, the ambiance is good, service is always friendly. The prices are fine. The pizza is just ok. It's not my fave by any means. We ordered a pizza online on our way home, and my husband realized he ordered the wrong toppings. He called and they said it wasn't a problem and corrected it. I arrived shortly after and was greeted with a smile and recognition of the order that was corrected. Waited just a couple of minutes (I'd much rather wait for my food than have it waiting on me getting cold). The gentleman who brought my pizza was just genuinely friendly and as I observed the staff while I waited, I saw people enjoying their jobs and interacting with guests cheerfully. After five years living in Florida, I finally had the chance to take a bite of their pizza! Came here by default because of a team meeting. Most of my coworkers have been here before so after all the recommendations, I went with the Down Home Slice bbq pizza and paired it with a coke. While waiting for my slice to come out the oven, I took a look around. The decor doesn't really make sense, but it wasn't bad either. It was very unique for a pizza place. What I noticed was that there was a lot of foot traffic coming in and out, so I had very high hopes for the taste of my pizza. When the pizza came out, I underestimated the size it would have been. The slice was bigger than the tin it was served on. It was nice that they give you a fork and knife because there would have been no way I could have grabbed the slice with my hands. Sliced through it and took a bite. It wasn't nothing too special. The slice could have used more bbq sauce and cheese. The seasoning on the chicken was delicious, and the crust of the pizza was nice. It's a personal preference of mine to have cheese be stringy when eating pizza so I get it. I wouldn't mind coming back to try other pizza specials... but what really draws me back is that HH beer is cheaper than soda! Better luck next time Lazy Moon. read more
