My husband and visited Estes Park with a friend and rented the Eagles Nest cabin. We loved it! The cabin is cozy but offers enough space for three. We scheduled showers etc... so never really ran into any issues. I loved how the fireplace was connected to a thermostat so the temperature was always comfortable. Kitchen was decent size and made it easy to make meals. I'm a cookware snob so I brought my own from home. Glad I did since the pots and pans that were provided may have made it difficult to prepare my menu. I was sad when our vacation ended!! I can't wait to book this cabin again next vacation. The location of Lazy R is great! Gas station, grocery store and liquor store are across the street. The entrance to Rocky Mountain is right down the road as is downtown Estes Park. Make sure you stop by the Donut Haus when you head into town for some shopping. Their donuts are on point!!

This is my home away from home! LOVE THIS PLACE!!! My best friend and I come every year and we couldn't be happier! The staff here is outstanding... especially Darrell! They are always so happy to see us. This is a great place to come and stay with your dogs to relax. We will continue to be guests yearly

My family of four stayed here last week, while visiting the RMNP. We couldn't have been more pleased. We stayed in the Mountain Pine cabin. It was spotless. The staff was amazing. The proximity to everything we needed and wanted could not have been more spot on. Check in was effortless, and the staff offered the children fresh fruit when we arrived (perfect after a 3 hour flight and 1 hour drive) as well as their choice of DVD and board game to take back to the cabin. Firewood was available at a reasonable price. Our cabin was off-site....but that didn't stop the elk from grazing in our front yard! The view of the stars from our hottub was perfection. Did I mention the property was spotless???? The beds were comftorable and we were stocked with extra clean towels. You cannot go wrong here. Book it! You wont regret it. Enjoy!!!

So majestic... *sigh*

This is our first stay at Lazy R. This was the last place available that would allow our service dog in the cabin at a short notice... Now, I understand this isn't a 5 or even a 4 star inn, but we paid more than the average rate for our duplex "cabin". $15/per night for pets (even service dogs). We paid $526.74 after taxes for 2 nights in cabin 7A. It's about the size of an average 2 bedroom apartment, and it has it's pluses...but definitely not worth 1/2 of our mortgage payment. Pros: -great location, if you like being near to downtown. -decent view (see pictures), however doesn't every place in Estes Park have a great view?! -free fruit and dog treats and video rentals from the office -private deck with table -updated dishwasher for you to wash your own dishes with (or get charged for not doing them) -all needed dishes/appliances are here, including grill -clean, living space did not smell like a "pet friendly" cabin unlike our experience elsewhere at Estes. Cons: -wretched wifi connection -very minimal upkeep of the property (see pictures). Things that would take less than 5 minutes to fix aren't, and the temporary fixes that have been done are tacky to say it kindly -we have 3 potentially broken down golf carts parked beside our cabin -all cabins very close in proximity to each other -the decor... Bleh....Meh. (Everything extremely tacky, including having an old tube TV at the end of the kitchen counter vs above the fireplace... Or whatever At this point, all the cons are things they could easily fix, not the actual property. The management has been helpful (though we haven't checked out yet). If they were to fix the cons, or had a better "you get what you pay for" value, we'd be back. But currently, I think the next time we come we'll try another place.

This is an older cabin that has been added on to, it has some wear and tear marks, but was very clean.

I'm confused why there are so many glowing 5 star reviews. Murphy's is fine. It's dated and needs a…read morelot of updates. The bed itself is comfy but the room is just cheap. The bathroom is tiny. It doesn't have any hooks for the towels or hand towels... The balconies overlooking the river are nice (but there are many, many places to stay along the creek that are updated and clean looking). The pool is a nice touch but it's old and looks like someone DIY-ed years ago. The vending machine didn't work with any of my bills when my very pregnant body needed a bottle of water. I popped in to check out the continental breakfast and walked out with only a tea. Just a bunch of cheap, sugary products (donettes, nutrigrain bars, hostess danishes). And I thought we were getting a great rate so it was worth staying at this older place but the very nice 3 star hotel yards away is the same price!! Like it's *fine*. It's certainly not worthy of 5 stars.

The front desk staff shortly called after booking the room to verify information and see if we needed anything special upon arrival. Room is simple but offered ample amenities for the price. Breakfast was simple and attended by staff and included fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea, bagels, pastries, etc small grab and go. We didn't visit the pool/tub atrium that overlooks the breakfast area but it looks nice! Will return whenever in Estes and looking for a quick night getaway for a cheap price. Room and property are dated but the friendly staff, proximity to downtown, and price meets our expectations.

Absolutely recommend My partner made a reservation there…read morefor us for a surprise birthday trip, and I was very surprised. Close to downtown, beautiful nature sounds, easy to find, lovely room with a view to the river. We didn't really get any customer service experience since they give you a code for your door instead of a key card. Can't comment too much on that. The room was great, it had cups for water and coffee, plates, cutlery, a cutting board, and toaster, a fridge and well equipped for a short stay where you can bring your own snacks/food. Had a lovely time there.

On the positive side, I thought the…read morelocation was lovely; being right along the creek is very peaceful, and I really enjoyed having an outdoor patio attached to my room. It's a beautiful setting, but several issues impacted my experience. First, I felt the advertising was a bit misleading. I saw a pool listed on Orbitz, but I discovered there isn't a pool anywhere on the property. Instead, there are two above-ground hot tubs. I went to the one on the second level, but I found climbing the narrow metal stairs with wet feet to be a bit dangerous. I also noticed that the rooms are slightly dated and showing their age. In my room, the curtain rod was actually falling out of the wall, which told me they need to keep up with better maintenance. You should also know there is no lobby or front desk here; I just received a code via text message and entered it to get into my room. While efficient, it felt a bit impersonal. My biggest complaint, however, was the construction noise. I didn't realize they are currently expanding the inn and building two new buildings on the same lot. Unfortunately, my room was right next to the construction site, and I had to deal with loud noise all morning. I think this place has a lot of potential once the upgrades are done, but between the maintenance issues and the noise, I didn't find it to be the relaxing getaway I was hoping for.

So leading up to our stay I stayed in contact with the front desk Katie, letting her know it's our anniversary weekend and she was the sweetest. When I say this lady went above and beyond and didn't have to, she did! When we arrived, first off there is only 12 rooms, and each room has an actual key!! This place is literally nestled on a side of a mountain w other little resort around. The check in process was so cute. Katie checked us in gave us some yummy cookies and I even bought a cute 4seasons inn sticker to put on my car. The room we booked was a private suite w a private spa grill and seating area. There is seating area by the grill and by the spa. And it's also on the 2nd floor just an fyi if you're wheel chair bound or whatever limitations you may have. So we go into our room and she literally decorated the whole room for us for our anniversary and had a bottle of wine w two wine glasses and fire wood already in our room for us to start a fire. The room was VERY spacious. Has a kitchen that worked a full coffee maker. A good size fridge and the freezer worked amazing. The toiletries that come w the room smell just fantasists. The best morning I woke up to wild turkeys on the ground just gobbling away and elk and deer. There is a community grills and a spa and a few other amenities. The thing I love about this place is it's literally less than 5 mins from the National park and far enough away to be secluded but 8 mins from EVERYTHING in town. And in Estes park there is so much cramed in that town! I LOVED everything. Not a thing was bad about my whole stay.

Place really is nothing fancy, but it's fine for a day or two…read more Pros: -Hot shower and good water pressure -Free chocolate chip cookies in the office (Nice touch and definitely unexpected.) -Near Rocky Mountain National Park Cons: -Wifi wasn't great -Not really near anything within walking distance. There's Cinnamon's Bakery and that's about it as far as food goes. -The main ceiling light in the room didn't work. It wasn't a big deal, but it was kind of bummer. -TV was really old. It had a dvd player! Yay or Nay?" Bed was pretty broken in On a side note: there was a significant amount of deer poop on the way to my room; it would have been nice if it was cleaned up.
