We ordered the Yolk O' Oh No sandwich and the Marco Pollo grilled sandwich and both were perfectly toasted, flavorful, and absolutely did not disappoint. I would happily eat either again without hesitation. Drinks: * 10 oz iced vanilla latte -- creamy, smooth, and made with quality-tasting beans. No complaints here. * 10 oz cappuccino (oat milk) -- tasty... but visually alarming. When the cappuccino arrived, it looked like it had been on a diet. A very strict one. I genuinely thought there had been a pouring mistake, so I politely asked at the counter. The response? "Yes, that's correct--it's supposed to be about 1 1/2 inches from the top." Reader, it was not 1 1/2 inches. It was more like "emotionally distant from the rim." I even slid the cup closer, hoping maybe perspective was playing tricks on me. Nope. Same answer. Same empty real estate at the top of the cup. Now, I understand cappuccinos aren't filled to the brim. I respect foam science. I honor espresso traditions. But this was bordering on half-cup energy at a full-cup price point. Photo included so you folks can be the judge

Smells like fresh coffee the moment you walk in. Easy, fast vibe. No WiFi and hard wooden benches, so this place is your drive-thru without a drive thru, grab and go coffee joint. Ordered the usual: decaf flat white with heavy cream. They take your name (and probably a clothing description) but walk your drink directly to you. Kind of a neat touch there. Strong bitter coffee, more foam than I'd prefer (more latte than flat white). Temp is just right for being able to drink it down quickly. The "H+H" scribed on the lids has us both curious/concerned that it might be half and half vs heavy cream. Ehn. Not in our top five; wouldn't be worth a repeat when there are other untapped opportunities in the DFW area.

Such a great find in Dallas!! Staff is really friendly and accommodating, [[HIGHLIGHT]]parking was easy, and plenty of indoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered an iced oat milk latte and you have the choice of adding an extra shot and syrup to your latte for no additional charge. Our latte came out the perfect color! Being from California, prices here were extremely reasonable and both the espresso and drip coffee were delicious. A great, quick pick me up in the city!

Cute little coffee shop with a hometown feel. We were greeted as soon as we stepped our feet in the door. Love that! We were asked what we're in the mood for and given suggestions. I already knew that I wanted to try the coffee cake which I'd heard about from another review. When I mentioned that, he said ohhh yeahhh good choice. He also asked if I wanted it toasted and buttered....mmmm yes I do!! You're given a number and you can find a seat while they work on your order. They have books and items for sell that you can browse while waiting. There's also outdoor seating if you prefer to sit outside. Nice place with great service and I'd definitely visit again!

We met a couple friends here for breakfast yesterday morning. The space is bright and pleasant with a minimal, airy decor that we tend to find attractive in coffeeshops. Ordering was a bit of a hassle since it felt like we were in a space-time continuum with the barista: "One black coffee" "Milk and sugar?" "Black." "Sugar on the side?" "Just black!!" And so it went. We did eventually get our flat-white (which is essentially a latte, right?) and iced coffee (but a "red-eye" came out...??), both of which were excellent. We're still unsure what exactly makes this place distinctly Australian, but no matter. Our breakfast goodies were satisfying but didn't overly impress. The chocolate chip cookie had a nice texture but the grilled banana bread was far too greasy. The Si-Si sandwich was essentially turkey cold cuts with an interesting sauce and some mushy bread. Overall, we liked it here but it's closer to our pals' place than where we stay in Dallas, so not sure if we'll be back again. Maybe to the Preston location. read more

I loved this little coffee shop. The service was warm and inviting. The space was was minimal and peaceful. I ordered a London fog, banana bread and the healthy treat. The banana bread was fantastic. The barristers are nice and relaxed. The London fog was tasty. read more

The owners are amazing. My friend and I went to visit for the first time and talked to them for a while about everything from coffee to Australia. I feel like this is something a few coffee shops lack. Being personal and simply embracing the art of talking with their customers (big or small topics). That was something I really noticed about them, very approachable and felt like home. Lastly , my vanilla latte was ammmmazinggg! read more

The ordering may take a bit longer to complete, and the drinks may take their time getting to you, but that's because the owners invest in every customer and drink for a satisfying experience. Smooth Flat Whites, rich Chai Lattes (more spice than sweet, hoorah!), and flavorful sandwiches will keep me visiting! I only wish there was more indoor seating and that the lighting was generally brighter. However, I understand the space is limited. Oh, one more thing that would be helpful: more lights in the waiting area outside the bathroom. Stepping into the dark and rusty lockerroom-esque area is a little jarring read more

Live near LDU and wanted to check it out for some time. Went this morning and was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the owners, I believe it's two Australian brothers. Very nice and welcoming with a neat and simple menu board. Prices are reasonable, I personally think it's a great deal, especially their drip coffee since it's made fresh using a French press when you order. The interior is simple with clean finishes, not loud or distracting. Was surprisingly busy around 10am with most tables filled. Will definitely be back again and excited to try their pastries and other coffees! read more

I went in to LDU Coffee yesterday with my son who lives nearby. Wow, love the coffee!!! So fresh and delicious. I had an americano. It's the best coffee I've had since I left Kona last spring. Now I need too figure out a way to make this at home. Delicious! I must mention the staff is soooo friendly and informative! I'll be back next time I visit the area, for sure. These folks are doing good on their terms and that is awesome! Every latte and coffee we've had has been exceptional. Service is consistently kind and friendly. The space is welcoming and clean. Sandwiches are toasty and unique--definitely worth a try! With limited hours and WiFi access, LDU is a neighborhood coffee shop, not a library which serves coffee. I would give this place more stars if I could! We decided to try a new spot in Dallas we've never been to. We ordered the Space Cowboy and a Picollo. After getting to the car we realized just how delicious it was and literally went back in to get more. The owner cake over and brought us a flat white and started explaining coffee culture in Australia. The flat white was INSANE it was so delicious. Seriously such an enjoyable experience. Also, the sweet blonde girl that took our order was sooo knowledgeable, informative, and friendly. (Give that girl a raise!!) We will definitely be back. read more

Incredible coffee and incredible food. Everything I've tried here has left me wanting more. Having such quick access to this place might be my favorite part of living at B&F flats. I would highly recommend the americano and the flat white. Australian espresso is on a different level and makes me never want Starbucks again! If you're looking for food, give the SiSi a shot. The cheese, tomato, and aioli are so incredible and it's by far the best sandwich I've ever had at a coffee shop. read more

Great coffee! I loved the open and bright environment of the cafe. I visited this cafe on a Saturday since I wanted to come to get some work done, but sadly wifi is not provided on the weekends. I decided to just take my own time there with a cup of coffee and banana bread! Their coffee was very fragrant. It wasn't bitter or sour and tasted smooth. The banana bread was served warm, which I really liked. It was homemade and definitely one of the best banana breads I've ever tried. The only thing that I had a problem with was that their table was kind of sticky. Besides that, everything was great - from service to coffee! read more

I do not get what all the hype for this place is about. Visited on a Saturday morning with my friend. We both got small lattes to go. The shop itself is nicely designed and has a modern trendy vibe inside and outside. Located in a really nice area with a parking garage right next to it. For this I gave it 2 stars. When we entered I noticed that the place was packed with a younger crowd. The cashier took our orders but she was not at all interested in anything we had to say. We witnessed her chatting it up with a younger couple ahead of us for 5 minutes but as soon as she got to us, we received a nonchalant attitude. Both me and my friend were turned off immediately but still decided to try their coffee thinking that it would be amazing and make up for this encounter. We. Were. Wrong. We each paid over $4 for the saddest sized small latte I've ever had in a Texan coffee shop. To add salt to wounds, the lattes were just mediocre in taste. *Bleh*. My chai almond milk latte was nothing to remember. I've tasted better chai lattes from other establishments. So, in summary: - We did not feel welcomed - This shop is perhaps tailored to younger folks - We thought the price we paid for what we got was ridiculous - The coffee was 'meh' at best No thank you. One of my favorite Dallas go-to's! Whenever I have my Houston people drive up to visit me I take them here and they are always upset they can't take LDU home with them! The owners and employees are GREAT and the coffee is some of the best I've had and I worked in coffee for 9 years before moving to Dallas. Visit LDU and your day will be better. :) read more

My friend and I were apartment shopping across the street and I was starving so I popped in to grab a bite. The only options were a lemon loaf, cookie, and banana bread. I opted for the banana bread and was so happy I did, it was delicious the banana nut bread is delicious!!! Hey toast and butter it, it's divine!!! read more

I'm not a huge coffee person but I was here with someone who is and they loved the Mocha Latte, while I loved my very delicious, 'totally for adults even though it's a kids drink' hot chocolate. The owners are hilarious, the service is quick, and I'll definitely be back soon. read more

I've been going to LDU coffee as often as I can to study and, well, get coffee. The coffee itself is amazing and the environment is great with a welcoming and kind staff. After months of driving past this place, I finally decided to try it since I was working from home and craving a chai latte. Let me just say -- wow. The latte: rich, sweet, and spicy. I usually get almond milk in my lattes, but sometimes I find the almond flavor overwhelms everything else. Not here! It was as creamy as real milk. I also got the banana bread, and it truly was a treat. Taxes are included in the price, and I got a small thrill when my bill came out to an even number (it's the little things!) This place is excellent in its simplicity. They have a small menu in order of strength, with basic add-ins that don't take long to figure out. It is easy to get exactly what you are looking for. They have one type of coffee specifically roasted for them that is perfect. The staff is super friendly and will take the time to talk to you and answer any questions you may have. On first glance, the sandwiches don't look like much. But after tasting, I realized it was delicious! I had the Sisi. The bread even though toasted was super soft and the flavor was super complex in flavor. It was sweet and spicy, crunchy and chewy, cheesy and savory. read more

Love this place and can't wait to return! I have tried their White Flat and it was soooo right! Flavorful, strong and creamy. Later, I came back for a Chai Latte with Almond Milk and it was perfect! These brothers are warm, smart and funny! So that adds perfectly to their quality coffee and creates a memorable experience! You have to visit them! read more

Talk about crispy, melted, flavorful breakfast sandwiches. And no, not that unoriginal biscuit / bagel egg sandwich. I'm talking about brisket, roasted tomato, melted cheese, and cilantro paninis (The Maverick). And their coffee is no disappointment either. A small, welcoming coffee shop that is ideal for waking you up in the morning. The coffee is of an excellent standard. It appears that each cup is custom-made, one at a time. It does take a little bit longer than anticipated, but the extra time spent waiting is worthwhile. read more

Love this little local coffee spot. They know me and my wife name. It is some of the best coffee we've had in the Dallas area. We treat ourselves to their banana bread every once in a while. It is beautifully crispy (they put it on the panini press) yet delicious and moist. Couldn't recommend this place enough read more

I was in the area and needed a pick me up post lunch. I had seen this shop on an Instagram post and decided to try it out. Friendly barista, it almost seemed like he was the manager. I ordered the house drip - good, strong flavor but a tad bitter. I like the inviting interior, open space. I would be okay sitting on the bench with a cup of coffee and perusing thru their book collection all day long. Parking isn't a problem since there's garage parking. I recommended this shop to a friend, and we visited literally the next day. read more

Finally a hot cup of coffee! In my continued hunt for a delicious cup of coffee, LDU has been the answer to pleading "can anyone in Dallas make a hot cup of coffee?!" The vibe inside is friendly and laid back. There is always great music playing and I leave wishing I could stay longer. The coffee has been spot on every time I'm there. While usually a black coffee guy, I've been known to treat myself to a latte or cappuccino. All there coffees have been rich, smooth, and hot. This is the spot I find myself hoping I can leave work early to get to. read more

It had a nice light non-guilty feeling to it lol I highly recommend this location because it is definitely but a friendly and the products are great. I don't have any photos because my phone was on its lowest line on the battery and I needed to save battery life so I could get my Uber and get home lol

This is an old renovated 2 story house with a good amount of seating inside and out and even an upstairs area. Inside is bright and cheerful, and colorful of course. Inside you will find booklets on the LGBT community, and an explanation of all the flags right at the register, anong other things. They have good artwork here too and lots of things to just look at on the walls. I tried the creme brulee iced latte. While it wasn't super strong or sweet, i thought it was just the right amount of flavoring. I will definitely stop by here again the next time I am in town.

The trash cans were overflowing and the floor was very visibly dirty, with a few napkins and receipts also on the floor. We were there for at least 40 minutes. I never saw anyone even wipe down a table. It was busy at times, but there were also slow times and the staff just stood behind the counter and talked with each other. I'm hoping it was just an off day and it's cleaner when you visit.

I'm delighted to call this cafe my go-to spot for a refreshing cold brew on my days off from the cafe I work at. Their "Space Cowboy" cold brew is my secret weapon for a much-needed energy boost.
