I'm so excited to write about Le Bella Salon. I don't know how there aren't more reviews on here about them. They are excellent! First off, quant little Itasca where I went to school as a child and grew up. Love downtown Itasca. Surprised more businesses haven't squeezed their way into this area. I guess with Elk Grove/Arlington Heights near by, that might explain some things. Found this place through a friend and heard that I should try them so I did. I heard Danielle was THE gal to see for my waxing and hair cutting/dying needs. I'm not a person that dyes my hair, but one day when my little bit of gray takes over, I'm sure I may have to consider it. First off, you walk in this place and it's relaxing from the word go. Great atmosphere and wonderful staff to top it all off! They have a little boutique in the front with some cutesy little tops and jewelry. just darling! They offer manicures, pedicures, spa pedicures, NO Chip manicure (one of my faves), acrylics, make up, hair cuts for BOTH MEN AND WOMEN (and children), Up-do's, Coloring, highlites, perms, shine treatment and the new craze--- Brazilian Keratin Treatment. Pricing is comparable for this quality of service. Danielle offers a referral program (Danielle specifically) and offers her new clients a special deal on a cut and color...I may have missed all the details, but the word "Free" was involved. :) I had her wax my eyebrows. I don't really require much waxing but she did such a great job. Shaped them up beautifully and made me feel like I did something nice for myself. They offer a variety of waxing services, including the brazilian wax, lip, eyebrow, chin, back, chest (wish I could get my fiance to partake in a few of these), legs and underarms. Need a facial? The got 'em! I am thinking of perhaps partaking in one myself around the time of my upcoming wedding. Oh man, did i mention that they offer Swedish massages for only $60!?!? And word on the street is that the woman that does the massages here is SPECTACULAR!! I'm so excited to have found this place. It brings me back to my roots and memories of my childhood, but makes me feel like a beautiful woman and that's what we all want, right? Call and make your appointment now. Ask for Wendy or Danielle. Ooh LeBella Salon! I am so excited to have found you!!! So my sister was trying them out after a friend of hers suggested that she go see Danielle, the Gentle Waxer. I decided to tag along to see what I thought and they were good enough to squeeze me in too. Guess what??? It's the same Danielle who used to cut my hair for years many moons ago! When I moved from Itasca to Schaumburg, I ended up choosing a salon right around the corner from my then new house. I can't believe that I've found her again. She's been in this profession for fourteen year now...wow, how time flies! And now I feel a little older than I would like. But I digress. Anyhow, I decided to eliminate the Oscar the Grouch/Tom Selleck look that I've been sporting for a few weeks and opted for an eyebrow and lip waxing. The waxing room is nice. Very clean. They don't double dip in the wax which is greatly appreciated. It would be almost as bad as double dipping in the chip dip at a party which is why I'm glad that they stay away from that practice. ;-) Anyhow, I agree with the nickname. Oh, Gentle Waxer, you left me painfree and very relaxed! I was surprised because my face usually hurts for a while after a waxing, but not this time. The salon itself is divided up nicely. They have a couple manicure stations setup in front by the windows, so there is good lighting. The other windowfront is the home of their boutique. Filled with jewelry, handbags, hats, scarves and really cute tops - there's a lot to look at in that space! I need to devote more time right there on my next visit. The pedicure station is near the back of the salon for a more relaxed feel away from the guests coming in and out the front door. The stylists are setup throughout the Center along the walls. Overall the prices are what I would expect and I'm good with that. Everyone that I encountered was friendly. I like that a lot. I like feeling welcomed. Like they're glad to have me. :-) I'm looking forward to my next visit. I love downtown Itasca and all it has to offer. I visited this salon today for a mani pedi. It was my first time visiting this salon and I was excited to try someplace new. The reason for the visit was I purchased a great deal off of amazon-living social ($25 for a mani & pedi). The nail technician that works there is Kathy- she is so nice!!! I picked a mauve color and absolutely love the job she did. I am very excited to try some new services they offer there. I made an appointment for a partial and a cut. The cut is free with color for new clients- also a great deal! I learned that they use young living essential oils for their skin services and am very excited to try a facial from them because I know these products are not cheap and give great results with many health conditions. I met the owners today and they are super friendly!! It is a brother and sister owned place and the place gives off that "anyone is welcome" friendly feel. I'm very excited to go back next week for my hair! read more

Went for a hair appointment and was very impressed from the scheduling to the final reveal so I thought I would write a quick review. First of all they were very cool about squeezing me in even though my schedule is crazy. I was seen almost right away so bonus points for that. My stylist was friendly, fun, and extremely talented. I loved my hair and I will say that in general I am usually pretty picky about the symmetry of my cut and the way that it falls so I think I am a pretty good judge of her skill. They actually have a really cute section of scarves and accessories for sale at reasonable prices so next time I'm in I may get some Christmas shopping knocked out. I will definitely be back in next time I'm in the area. read more

My mother and I have been going to this salon for years! The environment is warm and inviting and no matter who is working for the day they all really make you feel like you're part of the family. We see the owner, Tracy who does and excellent job with cut and color! My brother has gone to Franca when he is in town from LA stating that she gives the best hair cuts he's ever had! You couldn't go wrong seeing any of the girls there. All are extremely proficient in their craft and will have you walking out feeling like 1,000,000 bucks! read more

Oh my gosh I LOVE Tracy! She takes the time to listen to what you're looking for whether it's a cut or color or both. I am VERY picky and critical about my hair and have gone to salons ranging from Gold Coast Chicago to suburbs and Tracy is the one who finally "got" me and what I was trying to describe. Plus, the other stylists make you feel like you are part of their group - almost like family. All in all, a super great place! read more

Today, 8/21 I was told by the owner (I assume) that I could not get in for a mani/pedi with my Living Social deal that expires 9/2. She will not honor my deal for this service and instead blamed me for not calling sooner. She said I would have to pay another $25.00 to get the service. (I paid $25.00 already for the L.S. deal). I immediately called Living Social and was informed that I can use the amount I paid for my coupon at this establishment within 5 years from date of purchase - this is under a federal law for gift cards/vouchers. If the owner had taken a minute to explain this and not been so greedy for me to spend more money for a mani/pedi at her salon I would not have written this review. I plan to purchase hair product and never step foot into this salon again. (I wanted to give 0 stars but the site would not let me). read more

This place was way over price for the service!!! The girls thought that their social life was more important than making the customers feel comfortable or taking care of them. They scheduled two people for one stylist (there was only one stylist working) for the same time appointment. It was like taking turns to get my hair done; it took forever! I've gone to many hair salons in the area and I was most unhappy with the service at this place. So much for trying new places.... read more

I have been getting my hair highlighted or color changed for over 20 years. Lebella started as a convenient location for my service. In the beginning I was a chair hopping client going to the first place that could fit me in when the need popped up. I'm like most suburban people. I want what I want.. now! I was willing to try other salons recommended by friends and never realized that it was so much more than a hair color or cut. Trying to save 20.00, a different salon gave me a cut and highlight and while I was processing the stylist left to eat lunch and check emails in a back room. I felt like my money was wanted but I could just sit in silence and she couldn't be bothered by even offering a coffee a magazine or a the bare minimum I realized I was missing. I felt like such an imposition to that business. I'll never go back there! I made a living in retail sales and I know part of the overall experience is not just the product you are buying. It's about the connection with the staff and the warm smiles that greet you not once but every time you enter LeBella. My experience with my stylist Franca is honest and not a sugarcoat of what I want to hear to get my money. If it's unrealistic or will be damaging she tells me. There are other salons that carry a higher price tag, but I don't believe that quantity equals quality. Your style is very personal and my judgement is that when you are out and about and somebody stops you and says "I love your hair, where do you get it done?" TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I find it fishy that reviewers on 4/5/12 and 4/6/12 were "so excited" about LaBella Salon. Like the poster on 10/16/12, I purchased the Living Social manicure and pedicure voucher. I live less than 10 minutes away, so I was looking forward to trying this salon. When I called to schedule my appointment, the nail technician was extremely rude and unprofessional. She told me that she was too busy to fit me in before the voucher expired, so she could take me after the expiration date, but I would have to pay the difference between the price of the voucher and the full price of the services! I said that I didn't feel that I should be penalized, since I was calling to schedule the appointment before the voucher expired. She basically told me to call Living Social to get my money back, and that she didn't need the Living Social business. Then why did she sign up with Living Social? After talking to the woman, I wouldn't want her to touch my nails anyway. I could only get a credit from Living Social, but that was fine with me. read more

I went to Le Bella last Saturday to get my hair and makeup done for a wedding I was in that evening. The bulk of the bridal party was there for the same. While the staff was extremely friendly, professional and accommodating, the quality of the work was below average. I had my makeup done at 10am and I was shocked to see that the makeup station was cluttered and filled with makeup from Walgreen's. While those sorts of makeup may be okay for day to day use, they are unacceptable to use on clients before a wedding. I may be a bit spoiled because I live in Chicago but I was at least expecting MAC, Bobbi Brown, or NARS makeup. Additionally, she put black eyeliner on me (which I requested) but in a powder form. The powder had fallen all over my face, making me look like I had black eyes and instead of wiping it off, she just covered me with more bronzer. I ended up looking like I had a dirty face. Immediately after I got my makeup done, I went into the bathroom and wiped the bronzer and foundation off with a paper towel. Once I got back to the hotel it took me 3 baby wipes to get all of the face makeup off and I had to touch everything up myself. I ended up looking okay for the wedding but I wish I had not paid the $25 to get my makeup done when I ended up just doing it myself. As for my hair....it was okay. I had planned on wearing my hair down so as a favor to the stylist, I had curled my hair the night before (it takes 30-45 minutes to curl my hair). We discussed the plan for my style and she even complimented how great the curls looked...so, I was then shocked when she picked up a curling iron and curled AGAINST the original curl!!!! Basically, that straightens the hair. As I was sitting in the chair, the curls were falling. She kept insisting that they would last the whole night but within minutes of curling a section of hair, it would fall. I finally had to ask her to just put it all up b/c I knew it wouldn't last. I wish she had just been honest with me and said "I screwed up, can we put it up??" I would have been so disappointed had I left with completely flat hair. Once the bridal party got back to the hotel, I had to fix everyone's makeup. One girl in particular had FROSTED BLUE eyeshadow up to her eyebrows. When she walked in the bride's room (who had not been at the salon with us), the bride said "Wow....you're makeup looks..... terrible." It was really rather sad. Again, I gave the salon 2 stars b/c they were so polite and sweet but the quality of work was underwhelming. I would recommend that they invest in quality makeup for their makeup applications and perhaps a bit more training for the makeup artist. read more

I didn't go there for any hair service. I saw an Amazon deal for a mani/pedi with Kathy. Not good at all!! Good thing it was only $28. It was like something I could have done myself!! She totally missed my cuticles. There were a lot of hang nails she missed. That's why I get a manicure, so they can groom my hands!! Not much of a massage at all!! I told her I like my toenails cut short. A week later, I had to cut them because they were too long!! I think she normally charges $61 for the service. Total rip off. Would not even go back if I found a cheaper Amazon deal. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! read more

I have had my haircut twice by Tracy since moving to Itasca last year. She is super friendly and has given me two great haircuts and styles. Her salon is adorable and she has great experience, coming from Mario Tricoci. I notice a lot of poor reviews about a living social deal and hope that this doesn't turn anyone away. Seems like an issue with Living Social and not the salon itself. If you are looking to support a local business and want an excellent haircut/style at a reasonable price, give La Bella a chance. read more

I had an extremely irritating and unpleasant interaction with the nail technician, Cathy, and manager at Lebella Salon in Itasca. So aggravating I was compelled to post this poor review, something I never do. My cousin and I scheduled an appointment through Cathy with our Living Social manicure and pedicure vouchers. We scheduled the appointment about a month in advance and two days before the appointment Cathy called to cancel because she had a doctor's appointment. She offered to reschedule, but my cousin needed to talk to me about a time. She called Cathy back the next day and left a voicemail. No response. She called again a few days later and still no response. I begin to call and, not too surprising, I received no response. When I called the Lebella Salon directly the manager told me she couldn't talk to her about the problem because Cathy rents a space at the Salon. I called back the next day and asked to speak to Cathy. Before the manager gave the phone to Cathy she asked if this was about Living Social. I should have known right away that Lebella was prepared for upset Living Social customers. Cathy and my conversation began okay until she informed me that she would gladly reschedule, but I would have to pay an additional $20 for the service because the Living Social voucher was expired. I was flabbergasted t hat she was asking me to pay more for a service that she cancelled and then refused to return our phone calls for rescheduling. She claimed in the fine print at Living Social she had the right to do just that. She was very rude and immediately claimed I was getting hostile. I explained I was extremely upset that she expected me to pay extra for her mistake. She literally hung the phone up on me when I pressed her to justify her response. I then immediately called back and asked to speak to the manager of the Salon who was as unhelpful as Cathy. She repeated multiple times that she was a third party in this problem because Cathy rented a space from her. I completely disagreed with her, as I explained, she may rent to Cathy but her Salon's name was all over my voucher. She was connected to this problem wither she liked it or not. She also reiterated this fine print idea and claimed that Living Social will refund my money if I called them, which turned out to be partly untrue. I should have figured out there was more to the story when she tried to quote Living Social's policy. I did call Living Social and was only able to receive a credit for my purchase not a refund. Also, I was able to file a complaint against Cathy and the Salon. I learned I was not the only one. According to Living Social, of the 140 Living Social vouchers sold, 100 had called with similar issues. To further prove the dishonest and poor business practices of Lebella when the Living Social representative called and spoke to Cathy she omitted to cancelling my appointment because she was too busy. Which I find interesting because she told us she was cancelling because she had a doctor's appointment. It's a shame that a local business would risk poor word of mouth for over a manicure and pedicure. read more
