La Farfalle is the perfect spot for a date night! The space is cute, moody, and intimate, and the service is super quick and welcoming. Definitely book ahead--this place fills up fast. We started with a cucumber lemon mocktail and an Old Fashioned--both were refreshing and hit the spot. For dinner, we shared the chicken parm and spaghetti pomodoro. The chicken parm was thin, crispy, cheesy, and baked to perfection, while the spaghetti was perfectly al dente with just a kick of chili to make it pop. Both dishes were great for sharing between two people, and everything felt fresh and thoughtfully prepared. If you're looking for a cozy Italian spot with solid classics, this is a must-try on King Street!

Jamison is absolutely amazing!

Le Farfalle may officially be one of my favorite dining experiences in Charleston. Every detail felt thoughtful, elevated, and genuinely welcoming. The Vertical Railroad cocktail was exceptional and perfectly balanced. The Bucatini pasta was absolutely outstanding, but the whipped ricotta deserves its own standing ovation. I would go back for that alone. It was one of the best things I have eaten in a very long time. A huge shoutout to Alex, who is truly the best bartender in Charleston. She is knowledgeable, engaging, warm, and effortlessly creates the kind of hospitality experience that makes a restaurant unforgettable. Alison was also fantastic and added so much energy and charm to the evening. Highly recommend eating at the bar. The service, conversation, cocktails, and overall atmosphere made the entire experience feel special from beginning to end. Five stars all around.

Chicken Parmigiana with spaghetti

Was in Charleston for a bachelorette party and Le Farfalle was able to accommodate our large group of 11 for an 8pm dinner. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. We got 3 different appetizers, the Caesar Salad, fried calamari, and the rosemary focaccia bread (focaccia is a must try, it was so good!) Can't fully speak for all the entrees but my Local Catch was very tasty although not super filling. Everyone else also enjoyed their meals, a few of which are pictured below!

Unfortunately, if you're looking for the best Italian in Charleston, this isn't it. Everything was hit or miss the whipped ricotta and baguette was good. The artichoke tasted like it had jarred Alfredo on it. The chicken Parmesan was bland and dry, the $70 lamb chop was overcooked and drenched in sauce. The cocktails were good and the server was amazing just not worth the price you're paying. I wish I had a better review to offer.

A very nice Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Charleston. The food was great! We were able to try the Fusilli Lungh, Agnolotti, Lamb Chop Scottadito, and Crispy Potato Vinaigrette. Our bartender was great and very welcoming, he offered some great suggestions on options to try that were spot on. We did have a delay in the arrival between plates coming, but we still enjoyed ourselves and time being there. I would suggest visiting for a good date night and definitely have some desert!

Incredible experience here. We accidentally showed up a day before our reservation (whoops) but were able to sit at the bar and receive the same service. The bartender (I believe her name was Alex) was super friendly and helpful, and our food came out extremely quickly. Their gluten-free alternatives were also great- the pasta wasn't falling apart like normal GF pasta, and I was able to swap veggies for the baguette so I could still enjoy the whipped ricotta. I would certainly return here!

We had a great time here! The service was great, and everyone loved their food! If you are feeling a steak, GET THE STEAK. Everyone at our table got something different and we all collectively agreed the steak was the best. It was surprising just how good it was given this is an Italian place. It's now my second fav steak in Charleston.

The garden, interior were beautiful and the staff member (Kellie F) was wonderful. Next time, I'll order something else or stick to appetizers and a cocktail in the garden. I'd give a 1 but the staff was extremely kind and the space is lovely. The driving factor for the review was the food and cutlery. I was so excited to order chicken Marsala scallopini and pasta after it was overdue (5yrs) since last visit. I ordered chicken Marsala and it looked pretty but sadly it smelled and tasted flavorless. Flavorless chicken Marsala and pasta is not worth $45 and more like $15. The temperature of the food was off. It was slightly higher than lukewarm, which makes me think it had been sitting. Maybe adding parsley and salt would give it a better taste. It was quite bland. I'm not a huge salt fan but could tell it was under seasoned. The knife provided was very dull and very difficult to cut the chicken. Usually if done right you can cut with a fork and absolutely cut easily if with a knife. Next, no spoon was given despite serving a long pasta noodle. I'm a traditionalist when it comes to twirling your pasta with a spoon for consumption.

Came here for my hubby and I's 6th year anniversary dinner and it was delicious. We arrived a little early so we hit the bar for a drink beforehand. I really loved the Amaretto Sour. It kinda reminded me of a sweet and sour sno cone. When we were finally seated, we ordered the meatballs and focaccia for our appetizers. The meatballs were a little strange with the currants but the meat and sauce were both tasty. The focaccia bread was very tasty and we liked the different dipping sauces. The fusilli was super delicious with the cacio e Pepe sauce. My hubby got the chicken parm and it was a large portion and super juicy! We will def be back!

My fiancé and I have been trying to check Le Farfalle out for a while and were very excited when we got a Resy notification saying they had a table for two that became available. The ambiance of the restaurant is very cozy and welcoming. They have an outdoor patio that was super cute and also a nice bar area for some casual dining. We started the night off with the Caesar Salad and the warm rosemary focaccia bread that comes with three dipping options. Both were tasty and I loved the tomato sugo dipping option for the bread. We then ordered two dirty talk martinsi which were amazing! The black pepper vodka added a great touch to the drink and the ricotta stuffed olives were amazing! I had the Rigatoni Verde as my entree and he ordered the Mezze Maniche. You could taste the freshness on the Ragu bolognese. His plate sort of tasted like mine? So I couldn't really tell what the difference was. Over all, both were tasty and we left feeling full and happy that we finally got to check this place out! Definitely worth a trip if you're in town or live here!

Squid Ink Spaghetti

We had reservations on a Monday night. We were seated fairly quickly. This Italian restaurant is located in downtown Charleston. It delivered a delicious meal in a cozy atmosphere. The squid ink spaghetti was a standout--perfectly cooked with deep, savory flavors. We shared the artichokes and Caesar salad to start; both were fresh and satisfying, though nothing mind-blowing. Our server, Joe, was very attentive and the vibe was relaxed but lively. Overall, a solid spot for Italian food. I enjoyed the meal and would recommend it to anyone looking for good Italian food.

Appetizer were good and my pasta was delicious, the fish was perfect and unfortunately the Veal was tough and was not my favorite. Some of the server had an attitude problem.

AGNOLOTTI Duck Confit, Funghi Misti, Parmigiano Reggiano
Shayla V.

My husband and I met friends in town last minute for dinner. We've been once before, but only for a delicious cocktail before our dinner reservations (across the street) were ready. When we arrived they were at the bar and luckily had finagled two seats for us as we were on our way. They had already ordered the WARM ROSEMARY FOCACCIA served with Tomato Sugo, Whipped Ricotta & Olive Oil, the CAESAR- Romaine Hearts, Garlic Breadcrumbs, Parmigiano Vinaigrette and the OCTOPUS CARPACCIO Roasted Tomatoes, Pickled Eggplant, Fett'unta so we got to try all of these before we even got our drinks, and OMG, that bread was crispy, yet soft, yet spongy, and oh so succulent before even dipping them in all the three sides. I highly Recommend getting this for the table!!! Next up the Caesar, it was definitely a large size. My friend at all she could and I finished it for her lol. I am one though that likes a legit Caesar with anchovies so by adding the Octopus capriccio on top made it extraordinary!!!! It literally melts in your mouth. While washing all this yumminess down with our waters, wine and dirty martinis. I was talked into the AG N O L O T T I - Duck Confit, Funghi Misti, Parmigiano Reggiano recommended by the bartender, and my husband the good ol' chicken Parmesan over spaghetti. I'm not a huge chicken person (it's a texture thing) but I ate around the edges of the chicken with even amounts of spaghetti and probably managed to eat a good 1/4 of the dish. However, my Agnolotti was one of the best stuffed pasta dishes my mouths ever come in contact with, and I'm from the North. My friend does not have an adventurous palate, would not try the octopus, but when she heard and watched me melt over the melting in my mouth, she decided to try. After one bite, she was sold and said she'd never think she'd order duck, but she would come back just for this dish! Bam!!!!!! So try it, it won't disappoint. Honestly I'm pretty sure I could try every item on the menu and it wouldn't disappoint, so I guess I need to get me and my husbands butts back here sooner than later to try out more! See y'all soon I wish I would've taken more pictures. Next time!

We asked when we ordered about the flavor profile and supposedly it wasn't sweet, but all 3 of us agreed it was way oversweet. To start Abigail, our waitress, was attentive, helpful, super sweet and just about the best waitress I have ever had. My wife and I ordered a round of cocktails, expecting the usual great description with subsequent lack luster drinks. Last night was different, midnight bloom which is their take on an old fashioned, but really in a different league; Smooth complex, and satisfying. My wife got the Ruby Ruby which is sort of a pomegranate martini with champagne. Refreshing and vibrant. For appetizers we had the blue crab fritters and the pork belly. The fritters were crispy, light, and full of crab flavor. Virtually no filler. I could have eaten a hundred. The pork belly was crispy, and rich without being too heavy. They also serve it in a white sauce that I was still thinking about the next day. For entrees we got the Roasted grouper and the pork shank. The grouper was maybe a bit overcooked and dry, but the accompanying butter beans stole the show. The were rich, and layered with flavor. I will never see the simple butter bean in the same way ever again. The pork was fall off the bone tender without being dry. The sauce it was served in was a masterpiece. There were hints of apple, berry, cinnamon, and many other notes, I would drink it by the glass if it was available. We split the gelato for dessert. Pure delight. Smooth, bursting with flavor, and leaving you wanting for more. All in all, except for a small misstep with the cook on the grouper a near perfect dinner. I would go there soon because a Michelin star can not be far off, and then getting a table will be a near impossibility.

Nice list of 3 mocktails so even if not consuming alcohol one can look to play the part at the table and enjoy the flavor notes of a well made cocktail. The first meal we had was a bit of a work/get together meal. We ordered an assortment of items off of the menu and created a more tapas menu. The charcuterie board we picked the cheeses for and it was lovely. All as expected and quite surprised to find a cheddar I enjoyed. Came with some grapes, figs, nuts, honey and I think mustard. Glazed carrots were phenomenal. Heartily enjoyed the beet salad and thought the presentation was quite pretty. Lamb lettuce wraps are alright. Not my favorite of all the dishes served but delivered as promised, nicely cooked and presented. Spouse really liked the lamb wraps and were a stand out dish to them. Meatballs are excellent truly great texture and flavor. Escargot was a fun take on a classic dish. Finished with a unique strudel in its presentation it was quite pleasant. Spouse liked the peanut butter chocolate dessert. For brunch, I had the carrot ginger soup. Which I must say was a total delight. The soup had the hallmark texture and base flavor of the carrot ginger but it had a beautiful breath of savory and some heat seasoning wise to it. It was quite an elevated soup and heartily enjoyed! I followed the carrot soup with a French toast. I am all for softly scrambled eggs but the French toast was a touch undercooked. (I did not let the restaurant know or give them the chance to make right. I regularly eat soft boiled eggs and soft scrambled so I felt comfortable with consuming them.) Strawberries were ripe and tasty. The whipped cream was gorgeous in thickness and flavor. One in law had the caesar salad with croutons and grilled chicken. Their bowl was left clean so while they are not the talkative of sorts they did seem to enjoy it. Ordered a baguette with butter. Unfortunately the butter never made it to the table but the baguette was enjoyed. Spouse had the Azur burger with the side of tapas style potatoes. All was cooked properly to temperature and texture. Flavor and taste as promised. Wasn't their favorite dish at Azur as we had tried so many lovely dishes a few evenings before. But it did deliver on what was represented in the menu.
