Can I just say this place saved my wedding day! After a dressmaker mishap I had to buy off the rack and alter in less than 2 months. The seamstress helped me with 2-3 fittings taking great care each time. Not only did she fit the dress perfectly she really talked me through a tough experience with the other dressmaker.. and helped me come to terms with what I wanted. For a girl who wanted a short dress with no train I sure did love my full skirt and twirl. Very rude and overpriced. I went back minutes after I dropped my dress because I changed my mind given the price, and they made me pay $65..

LE Grand Chic is hands down the best tailor around. No matter if I need buttons fixed or or ripped my Burberry vest or honey's lace top needs adjustment. They always work wonders. Since word got around, be prepared to wait a couple of weeks for your order to make it through the pipeline. It may be longer when they go on vacations overseas. I gladly wait for top work. I was pretty disappointed with the service given the reviews I've seen online. I brought in a casual summer dress that I wanted to be taken in a bit in the bust area as well as bring up the neck line. She had me try it on and pinned some areas. The turnaround was quick (3-4 days) but when I returned to pick up the dress, they had trouble finding it (no ticketing system). When I tried it on, the problem wasn't fixed. I let the seamstress know but then she said it wasn't possible... I really wish she had told me during the first visit so I wouldn't have wasted my time. I then had to pay $28 for a service that didn't fix the issue with the dress. Never underestimate from the size of this store. This is one of the best alterations store in Boston. The owner is highly experienced about different types of alterations. I altered my wedding dress, which was a gorgeous ball gown with a lot of layers. The dress was quite long compared to my height and also was loose on shoulders. She took only 15 minutes to take all the measurements. I got back my wedding dress just after 5 days and in my surprise, it was with all perfect alterations. Her charge was the lowest among all other alteration stores I visited for the wedding gown. I must mention that she speaks very less and only is focused on her work. She is not among those who praises a lot about wedding dress and then gives an unreasonable estimate. I strongly recommend this store for any alterations especially wedding gowns. read more

Do not take a wedding dress here! I got my wedding dress altered here and it was pretty much ruined. My dress was a size too big, but every bridal shop will tell you dresses can be taken down up to 4 sizes, so this should not have been a problem. The seamstress here did not listen to me and insisted the dress looked fine even though I knew it felt wrong. My form fitting dress looked like a shapeless sack by the end of my fittings. I ended up having to buy another dress a week before my wedding. Spare yourself the stress and go to a seamstress who specializes in wedding dresses. read more

I can't say enough about this place. I have had two bridesmaid dresses fixed here and I couldn't be happier. The owner is a real perfectionist and really knows what she is doing. Her prices are more than fair and her ability to get things fixed when needed is amazing. I am 5'1, 108 lbs so I'll never find a fancy dress off the rack. I'm just glad to have found this place to fix those fancy dresses for me. I haven't had anything else fixed here but I wouldn't hesitate to go back with pants or other articles of clothes! read more

Just moved to the area and my friend, a long time Medford resident, told me to visit the girls at Le Grand Chic to have my suit tailored. I'd lost a ton of weight but wanted to keep this suit. You walk in and it looks like a hole. Don't be fooled. Most of the clothes hanging on the wall to be tailored are high end. The women who helped me was super friendly, took in my pants, re-cuffed them, replace my zipper and strengthened all the buttons. For 40 bucks! Heads up. Cash or check only. I absolutely loved my wedding dress, I purchased from David's bridal, however I wanted to tweak some things. I got a few inches taken off the length cause I'm short as hell, I got a swaroffski belt that needed to be tacked in, a bustle, and I wanted to alter the bustle to make the neckline more of a sweetheart shape. The owner did an absolutely amazing job, I didn't think I could fall more in love with the dress, until she worked her magic and i couldn't hold back my tears. She is amazing at what she does and really puts her everything into her work. Price was very, very fair. She charged me $380.( David's bridal was going to charge me over $250 just for the hem) my mother and sister then went to her for their dresses. She really knows her stuff. read more

I feel bad I don't know the lady's name who's in charge (I'll find out next time) because I've been here so many times over the past few months but I can at least give a stellar review. Always easy to park outside and inside it's a no-frills small place with a well-established feeling. One dressing room with a curtain to try on your clothes, and she is very professional and warm in addressing concerns and taking measurements. She is honest about what she can and can't do. List of items I've had her tailor for me with great results - -Hemming a jacquard skirt -Taking in a jacquard dress -Removing the cuffs on some dress pants, taking them in and re-hemming -Taking in the necklines of 3 different blouses that were too low-cut -Taking in the waistline of a pair of leather shorts -Taking in a pair of wide-leg jeans And she's currently hemming 2 floor length dresses, taking in the neckline of another dress, and completely re-doing the elastic trim and taking in the sides of another jersey dress. For the work on those 4 dresses, I think she quoted me $72? Maybe $82. I don't remember all the prices but they are fair considering the consistent quality of her results and her always pleasant customer service. Awesome place with wonderful customer service - seems simple, but I was asked when I'd like to pick my clothes up rather than other tailors, who just tell you when you'll be able to. I had two pairs of jeans hemmed with the original hemline and they look amazing - I can't believe other tailors haven't even told me that was an option! This place is great - the woman who runs it is very friendly and patient. I had my wedding dress altered at the bridal boutique where I bought it and was very unhappy with the work they did - I brought it to Le Grand Chic and she not only fixed what I asked but also noticed they had messed up the hem so she took additional measurements to fix that - the dress came out exactly as I had originally wanted! Since then I have taken a few things to her and each item has been done very well - I can't really comment on price because she seems to quote once she knows how much work is needed and the items I brought in weren't standard - I consider what I've paid to be very reasonable so far - I'll be going back and just had to spread the word =) read more

I discovered this place because it's right across the street from my house, and the Yelp reviews were great & better than the other tailors nearby. I had one floor-length dress hemmed at the bottom and had the slit brought up just a bit. The woman that helped me was incredibly nice and did the work in a timely fashion. When I tried it on after it was altered, she gave me the opportunity to see if I still needed anything fixed. I also have a friend who got her wedding dress altered here and loved it, and just referred a friend to have her bridesmaids dress altered here. I would definitely go again! read more

Upon ready the outstanding Yelp reviews I took the plunge and had two new men's suits tailored here. I am very fussy and typically require extensive work because I have some unusual body dimensions. It's a small location and expensive BUT I DID NOT CARE BECAUSE THE RESULTS WERE IMPECCABLE. Amazing! She altered my wedding dress that was a MESS from Anne Gregory for the Bride. It was too big, straps too long and delicate beading all down the front.
