Prior to coming here, i was quoted $25-50 dollars per dress by several other places. You will NOT find this kind of pricing anywhere else! Both of my dresses came out perfect and i have absolutely no complaints. Paw is also one of the sweetest people that you will meet and was like a ray of sunshine. I also really liked the fact that she was very honest with me and gave me her honest opinion on the hem length that i originally wanted for one of my dresses when she told me that the dress would look better if i didn't shorten the dress as much. The tailor is super nice and she asked a bunch of questions about the wedding I was attending that I hadn't even thought of to make sure she made the dress the correct length. I've brought in dresses, pants, and tops multiple times, always sending photos in advance, yet the service is consistently disappointing. Every time, the response is the same: she claims she can't do it. Most recently, I brought in a simple dress with just one layer, asking for a basic hem. Despite the dress being too long and me stepping on it, she refused to alter it, saying it didn't need any changes. I chose this seamstress because of other positive yelp reviews. Those reviews were accurate. This woman is so nice. First of all, she is open on a Sunday which is super convenient. I went there with my daughter because she had a bridesmaid dress that she needed some small alterations to. The owner was very honest with us and showed us that those alterations were not worth my daughter spending the money on as they would not make a big difference in the appearance of the dress. She recommended that my daughter save her money by not doing any alterations. It was so refreshing to have a someone say that to us. Paw is a wonderful tailor, and businessperson. My husband had to buy a suit last-minute. After racing to buy the suit and then fearing we couldn't get it tailored, Paw said to come over that hour and she was able to hem the pants by the following day (she actually finished them that night, she later said-- talk about fast). The shop was clean, organized, and full of pieces being completed-- it's obvious many trust this tailor. She was sweet and friendly during our fitting, gave me a terrific price and told me to come back WAY sooner than I thought it could take. Hands down the best tailor around. I have been to places on Newbury st that charge 30.00 to hem a pair of denim jeans while leaving the original hem. Fantastic work and very nice people. They are only open from Tuesday to Saturday. I brought them two suits to be tailored around closing on a Saturday for an early morning interview on Tuesday. They saw the obvious time issue and remedied it by offering to tailor my suits immediately. They seemed very busy at the time but were very happy to help me out. The additional cost for the quicker turnover time was fair and the overall cost was still significantly cheaper than some of the other tailor shops in the area. To sum it up, these people are pretty awesome and will definitely become my first choice tailor shop. I live just up the street from this wonderful place! I have been gong here for the past 8 years and I am more than happy every time. I always wonder how they have remained open because the two business next to it continuously come and go. Its because they do great work and its so cheap! I am 5 feet tall. About 90% of the things I bring here are to shorten my pants. However I have has other tailoring services done and I am very happy every time. The best part is that they even repair holes that you may have in your jeans or slacks by patching them to almost look identical to the color or material. I don't usually write reviews, but believe customers deserve to be prepared for service not going well, and an important item can be ruined. My daughter and I dropped her senior prom gown off to the shop, with ample time to do alterations. We did not push to expedite the tailoring, nor did we provide a fictitious prom date in order to have ready sooner. We called first to confirm the article was ready. Although it was not, it was worked on prior to our coming to the shop. The end result, was that the dress didn't fit at all according to agree upon alterations. The dress fit awkwardly and was completely inappropriate. The owner became defensive and unwilling to graciously make the corrections. More importantly, there wasn't time prior to the event. My daughter, in the dressing room, was understandably upset. However, the owner accused her of using profanity, which she had not. She had left the store to sit in the car. The bottom line, we had to purchase another dress in the eleventh hour. I was charged and paid for the alterations in my haste to leave the store.
