She spent a lot of time cutting my hair and trimming it again the next day to make sure that I'm satisfied with my hairstyle. After running errands all morning and getting my friend his birthday gift, I've popped in here for a wash and curl session with Ched, the lone hairstylist there. It was about 3:30pm when I came in, and no one else was there, which I Iliked since that allowed Ched to take his time with my hair. However, no sooner I did a check in and got into the chair for shampooing, three other women decided to show up and wanting their hair done too, lol! Hahaha, I brought Ched extra business on a slow Friday afternoon ;) Ched gave me a great scalp massage while shampooing my hair. After he applied conditioner, it got slippery and water sprayed all over. Luckily, I I wasn't soaked, and Ched was very apologetic from beginning to end, how sweet! :) Even though 3 women came in, Ched took his time with me, and didn't rush through. He asked me how I wanted my part, and covered up my lil hole on my top crown. He made my curls tight since my hair was baby fine and topped it off with Suave brand gel hairspray. My curls were awesome, and they held nicely throughout my friend's bday party. Best of all, when I came home and brushed it out before showering, it still looked amazing! *Sighs* had to brush it out otherwise, it'll look like a rat's nest in the morning, lol! The wash and curl took no more than 25 mins to do. Cost was $20 (not including tip). My curls were tight and intact with my baby fine hair. I did notice that unlike Drybar, Ched doesn't put mousse in there first, so some parts of curls were crunchy, but thank goodness not fried. However, my curls held up nicely, and so I was happy :) Located in the same plaza as Game Stop, Arby's and 99 Ranch Market in Alhambra. Was in need of a hair makeover and all the salons I wanted to go to are closed on Sundays sigh. So I decided to be brave and try somewhere new. I called in and was able to make an appointment within the next hour. I showed Cindy pictures of what I wanted and she gave me her suggestions and said to not to use more bleach on my hair because it's already so damaged. Instead she suggested to use "hair lighter" or something to lighten my hair color. She also blended the colors so it'll look smoother. She took her time with my hair and made me felt that she really cares about her clients. Towards the end of my appt, another client came in but Cindy did not rush it to finish with my hair. Instead she was double checking to make sure my hair was done perfectly and even took her time to curl my hair. Oh and another thing I love about her is the way she curls my hair. This is important because I like my hair wavy and not super curly so the way she did it was just the way I like it! The whole visit for cut and color was about 3 hours. I ate before this so I wasn't too hungry but Cindy was. She was trying to sneak in a few bites as she was helping me at the register and even offered me some. Overall, my experience was great and I'm so glad I did not leave the salon thinking I hate my hair unlike some places I've been to. read more

BEWARE OF UNSPOKEN PRICES: Got a redo bleach job by Cece and my hair was pretty fried after bleaching which was expected. After she realized how fried my hair was she said she was going to do a "treatment" for me. However she did not mention it was extra or any pricing. Cece said she was going to charge $70 for bleach (I have short hair). At the end she charged $170. I asked her why and she said because she did a "TREATMENT." Really?! Lady put conditioner in my hair for 5-10 minutes and my hair was still crispy af. I could have done the same at home. I paid her anyway and I tipped her because I'm too nice. I guess "treatment" is the code word for ima fu at the end. That "treatment" wasn't even worth $10 let alone $100. She even had the nerve to tell me to come back for a treatment tf?? Officially my new FAVORITE spot. Cindy is so sweet to talk to and she is an amazing hair dresser. At first I came here a bit worried that she might be one of those asian people who hears "cut 3 inches" and ends up cutting 5. Cindy actually listens. I asked to try to keep my hair long while getting my hair thinned and layered. She did exactly just that. I also got my hair colored that day and she bluntly told me what colors were good and what colors were not. I always like getting people's opinion on things like this. She took the time to dye my hair and it came out perfectly. I've always had trouble dying my hair brown from black using drugstore hair dyes. When I use to do it myself, the color never showed. Or it would show in some parts of my hair under bright light. After Cindy colored my hair, I could see it instantly. In total, my hair cut and dye came out to $85. Because hair stylists can sometimes be inconsistent with their styling, I decided to wait until my second hair cut with Cindy before I wrote a review, but I can now say she does a great job each time! I first met Cindy when the salon was having a promotion for their grand opening. My long hair was not in its best condition... Okay, fine. It was basically fried from all the hair curling I do. I didn't want to part with the length of it, so I let her know I wanted to keep my hair long. She tried to be conservative with the scissors usage, while ridding my hair of all those burnt split ends. I ended up letting her cut more off than what I originally wanted, but having defined layers and most importantly, getting my HEALTHY hair back was more than a fair trade. I gave her instructions to: 1. Cut off one inch from the top layers of my hair (for volume). 2. Don't cut my bangs because I'm growing them out. 3. TRIM the bottom layers and keep the length. I am so glad she complied with all of my requests. I actually walked out of the salon very satisfied, instead of thinking "eh, I think it'll look better tomorrow after I wash it..." read more

For someone who is very particular with hair, it is very difficult for me to rate a salon or hair dresser a full FIVE stars. I was referred to Cindy from Le Hair by my close friend for hair color. She was very knowledgable, considerate, and very fun to talk to. I wanted to select a light auburn color for a summertime style, and she mixed the perfect color for me. Most hair dressers tell me I have a lot of hair, and I was glad that Cindy took the time to make sure she colored it all. Despite the fact that I had a huge mane of hair on my head, the process didn't take too long. The finish was a vibrant auburn. I was very pleased with the beautiful results. She even trimmed my uneven hair for me and cleaned up my bangs for free, which I thought was very considerate. You know one's hair service is GREAT when your friends start showering you with compliments and asking you where you got your hair done at! I remember when this place just opened up . I was looking for a new hair stylist ever since I came back from Asia and I have pretty high standards after getting my hair done from overseas. Chett was the first person that did my hair when I came . I just showed him a picture of how I would like my hair to be cut, few minutes later he did what I showed him perfectly. A couple weeks later I came back and met Cindy . I wanted to dye my hair this time to blond and normally having black hair it took quite a while. I scheduled a long appointed that lasted a couple days due to my hair being too healthy and well started to feel a burn from bleaching all day. But after that my hair was a masterpiece . I saw her inside, & after grabbing her attention because i wanted a haircut so badly, she told me she was Open.. & the sign had been like that all day.. She had 1 client.. & worked between both of us.. Having both of us wait for her without giving any acknowledgement. Phone even rang & i did not get an "excuse me for One minute" She wanted to charge me more than for a tiny trim .. I did not need my hair washed dried & styled, i just needed a trim.. So why pay more than $20? & when I paid her for that service, she shoved her card into my hand and told me to call/text her next time to make an appointment. From my wife's point of view: This is the worst hair cut I have ever gotten. My hair looked worse than waking up in the morning with a bed head and wavy hair. My hair salonist, Chad, did not listen to me when I said that I did not want too much layering. So instead, I got more than 5 layers on my head. It is horrendous. Having wavy Asian hair and knowing that having too much layers will make my hair look puffy, he did just that. I didn't think that my hair could get any worse honestly until I came in here. I have to go get my hair fixed tomorrow with another hair salonist. I do not understand why every hairstylist I go to just don't listen to what I want for my own hair. It is my hair and I know how my hair works since I lived with it my whole entire life. Word of advice to ALL hair salonist out there.....LISTEN and FOLLOW what your clients want for their hair!!! When I first came to Cindy, my hair was a mess. I had put temporary pink dye on the bottom of my hair a couple days prior and it had turned out to be not so temporary. I figured that I might as well ombre my hair again so the pink would come out. Little did I know, it would take a total of 6 hours and two visits to Cindy to get out all of the pink. (The timing wasn't her fault - I was stupid for putting that stuff in my hair to begin with). Cindy actually cared about how my hair would turn out and washed my hair multiple times, bleached it three times and made sure that I was happy with the outcome. I can honestly say I've never experienced someone work on my hair that hard before, and her efforts were more than commendable. The total ended up being somewhere around $275 (cut+ombre) which I was ok with given the amount of time she spent on my hair. I'm really happy with how my hair came out! When I went here, there were three other customers ahead of me so I thought I was gonna have to wait a little longer than expected. Cindy was somehow able to manage all of her customers quickly and efficiently, despite being the only hairdresser/cashier/frontliner available at the time. I went in for a haircut. I wanted something drastic because I was extremely bored with my hip-length hair. Cindy greeted me and remembered my face even though I had only been there twice, so that was comforting.120$ for bleaching twice. Cindy sat me down right there because she had an opening. But the ombré, although I do like the results I kind of wish it were just a tad lighter. Then maybe I'd love the results. I got my haircut by Cindy yesterday and it was by far the worst haircut I've ever had. I moved to the area recently and was looking for a new stylist. I decided to try Cindy based on the yelp reviews. I have naturally curly hair and Cindy had no idea how to cut it. When I arrived Cindy asked what I wanted. I told her I wanted my hair trimmed a few inches and showed her a picture of my hair a couple years ago for reference. She said ok and immediately began cutting it dry. I had no problem with dry cutting since some stylists prefer to cut hair that way. After cutting a few inches off, she washed it and cut another few inches without even confirming that that's what I wanted! She then dried and straighted my hair and cut short layers! She told me it looked better like that. My hair is shorter than it's ever been and I absolutely hate it. All said and done she cut off about 8 inches. My hair was almost down to my waist and is now above my shoulders and incredibly frizzy. It'll grow back, but I can't believe I paid $30 for this hack job. Never again!!!! read more

I live right across the street from Le Hair Design and always thought about dropping in for a hair cut. Yesterday, I had a spontaneous urge to cut my hair, so I called in for a last minute appointment. Cindy was very accommodating and squeezed me in to her schedule. When I arrived, Cindy was very helpful and responsive to my requests. I told her I wanted to cut 2 inches, and she showed me exactly how much of my hair she would cut off (AND stayed true to her word!). I'm very picky with hair cuts and I've tried other hair stylists but Cindy does the best job by far. She is very thorough with your hair. My hair looks so much better than before with a lot of volume. Prices are actually very reasonable here as well. I can see why she has a steady stream of customers, she treats all her customers with kindness and respect. I don't color my hair but if I were to I would go to Cindy since there were a lot of appointments here for hair coloring. I'm always cynical when it comes to going to hair salons and getting my hair done since I have really thick hair, so I felt a bit nervous coming here since it was my first time visiting. But that changed soon after. I was assigned with Ched and he was a really friendly and nice guy, which made me feel at ease and trusted him. We had nice conversations and I found out he works as a teacher at the Rosemead Beauty School! He was flexible and asked me every once in a while if I was fine with it. He's very warm towards customers and the price was extremely reasonable and inexpensive at all. He even gave tips and advice on how to style my hair and care for it.
