Stopped in for dinner recently. Food was amazing. Ordered multiple selections from the menu. Nice ambiance too. Perfect for couples or large family gatherings. Enjoy your special evening. Cin Cin.

My carbonara was the perfect level of al dente and the sauce was so rich and creamy! The spaghetti had an equally robust sauce. The pizza was tasty but not on the same level as the spectacular pasta. Our sparkling wine was €35 and was slightly sweet, and went down with ease. The foot traffic was quite pleasant, as in there were not many people despite being near Trevi Fountain, and the outdoor seating had lovely white marble tables with mist fans and bulb lights that went on at sunset.

In my 3 short days in Rome, this place was so great, I ate here twice! The service was amazing! Not a bad choice on the menu! The beef was cooked medium to perfection, both days! Generous with the limoncello! Has a very romantic mood, sat in the window, felt like a scene from my own Lifetime Movie!! Can't wait to return!

We saw people eating outside and the food looked delicious. The Menu looked reasonable with antipasto, salads and pizzas. It was nice to sit inside the air conditioning, wash up and have icy cold water. We are sharing a mozzarella cherry tomatoes salad and an anchovy pizza for lunch. Lunch was okay, nothing too special. The anchovies & mozzarella were minuscule. The restaurant was clean, reasonably priced & service was on point.

Romantic - check. Delicious food - check. Kind service - check. The ravioli was AMAZING! And... delicious vino of course!

This place was close to our hotel. When we arrived to our hotel Rome Trevi we needed help with how to pay for parking. The staff was super helpful then so we felt obligated to come back. The pasta was good and super fresh. Not familiar with Italian makes it difficult to cite what we had. Nothing was left over showing the food was good.

    Outdoor dining

The restaurant was highly recommended and only a few minutes walk from our hotel. We chose the outdoor dining so never made it inside the restaurant. The seating was only feet away from the road which added a little adventure. It was our first night in Rome so we had to try the Ragu alla Bolognese. It was of course delicious! We're not drinkers so the fancy wines were lost on us. The whole experience was everything we imagined a authentic Italian dinner would be. Although we were surprised they didn't serve bread with the meal, must be an American thing. I read extensively about Italy in preparation for the trip and specifically their tipping culture, so I was surprised when I paid the bill he spun the machine around asking for a tip like a true American. It was the only time during our stay that we were asked for a tip. If you're looking for a nice quiet place with good food at more than reasonable prices give it a try.

Had dinner here with our family. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. Outside is kinda unique in your view which I enjoyed. Pricing was good as well. Enjoyed the lasagna, fettuccine and a few other pastas. So yummy!

Very close to our hotel and on way back from TRevi Fountain. My husband had the Lasagna, we sharred a caprice salad salad and I had Ravioli. Everything was so good!We sat outside which is right by the street, looks like an alley! Highly recommend

Soo good we had dinner two nights in a row! It was a holiday weekend and we were so happy they were open. This is one of our friends' favorite restaurant in Rome. Reasonably priced and the "autentica cucina Romana" food was delicious. The pizzas and pasta dishes are very delightful. The pasta is handmade. I have had, however, better tiramisu. Service was friendly and prompt. They laughed when we returned the second night! We appreciated the limoncello since we are frequent guests!! The restaurant is located on a quaint cobblestone street in a quiet neighborhood. You can email for reservations at lelanterneristorante@gmail.com

Quite possibly the most underwhelming meal I've had in Italy thus far. Le Lanterne's claim to fame is its proximity to Fontana di Trevi in Rome and because of that, I'm certain it's the reason why it even has traffic to begin with. Like most tourists, my boyfriend and I decided to have a seat and opted for the outdoor seating so that we could enjoy the view. The beer was cheap, about 4€ a glass, and was pretty decent. The food, however, was very disappointing. I had ordered ravioli and only received about 8 pieces on my plate with an interesting pink tomato sauce. The flavor was so-so but I was sad that I wasn't even full from it. The service was next to nonexistent. Aside from our server taking our order (after having waited for a couple minutes) we never saw him until we flagged him down for the check. I get that we're tourists but damn, have a little respect! Overall, I don't think I'll be coming back here especially considering there are so many more amazing eateries in Rome. (93/100 -- 2018)

We sat outside for dinner - family of four. Wasn't super impressed - service was fine, food was fine (sauce heavy), just not WOW - cater to the tourist crowd. But good for families with teens, or small children. Our total bill came to €97,00.

Our hotel manager had suggested another restaurant, but I was apprehensive to try, but did later, more on that restaurant review in it's own post. I rather did what I should have done throughout the trip to, which is to search google for local reviews. This tactic I found to be much better than to trust American reviews for restaurants to visit from Youtube or even here, just because the American touristy taste tends to favor bland or Olive Garden style pseudo Italian. The real Italian taste is much different and something one needs to develop. I was familiar with European Italian food, as I had said before in other reviews that Mexico has better Italian food outside of Italy. Additionally, the good restaurants here in Italy do not open before 7 PM. If it does or if someone that looks foreign to Italy is outside trying to lure you in, it's a tourist restaurant with iffy flavor. At this restaurant my husband had the Lobster pasta and I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli, and we both were beyond satisfied. We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. I'm so glad we chose this place for those of us Americans who understand culinary cuisine.

They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and if you're sitting outside on a sunny day, the staff is very attentive about adjusting the shades so you're comfortable. They will adjust even without you having to ask. I ordered the artichoke as an appetizer which was very good, I recommend getting this if they are in season. I also ordered the carbonara, and it was by far the best I had while in Rome perfectly creamy, rich, and full of flavor without being too heavy. You can really tell they focus on doing the classics right. What stood out beyond the food was how efficiently the staff operated. Despite how busy the restaurant gets, they move quickly and keep everything running smoothly, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, this is a must-visit spot if you're in Rome. Expect a wait, but it's 100% worth it for the quality of the food and service.

By the time we were seated, dozens of people were waiting behind us. We sipped an Aperol spritz and lemonade while we waited, chatting with fellow diners who raved about the restaurant. On a sweltering day, our kids were starting to struggle in the heat when the owner came outside and gave them mini pizzas breads. It was a thoughtful gesture that immediately made us feel welcome. Once seated, we ordered burrata, cacio e pepe, amatriciana pasta, pork chops, and fried artichokes. Everything was excellent, but the amatriciana was the standout--rich, savory, and unforgettable. The cacio e pepe was silky, the burrata fresh and creamy, the pork chops juicy, and the fried artichokes perfectly crisp. There's a reason people line up for Da Enzo. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere lively, and the hospitality remarkable. Without question, this was our best meal in Rome and one of our most memorable restaurant experiences.

Super pizza place with a lot of other great stuff on the menu…read more I looked with envy at the other tables who were enjoying spectacular plates of spaghetti with mussels. * * * That said, my pizza was a grand slam home run. Many of their pizzas are quite elaborate With all sorts of exotic ingredients. I went super simple. Gorgonzola. Mozzarella. That's it. Just enough Mozzarella to cut the Gorgonzola and make for a good melt. * * * If you have never had a gorgonzola pizza, you have never lived. Just sayin'. * * * P.S. My lovely wife got a Norwegian salmon pizza. The Norwegian salmon was stacked up high on her pizza As if she was in the World Series of Poker and she was a big winner. I have never seen so much salmon on one plate. After our meal, I made a discreet phone call to the Norwegian embassy in Rome asking them if they still had any salmon left. The woman at the embassy assured me the Norwegian salmon supply was fine. That surprises me given all the salmon that was on my wife's pizza.

Being new to Rome, and having walked 20k steps on our first day, there are an abundance of options a for dining. We wanted something classically Rome nearby to our hotel. The Yelp review of this restaurant was sufficiently positive to entice us. Being American, we appreciate the earlier-than-customary dining options. We arrived at 6pm without a reservation. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is intimate and very well staffed. The wood fire oven is front-and-center and the fresh mozzarella is prominent in display. We ordered a bottle of wine ... all options are very fairly priced. This is nice. We started with a Greek salad to share. It was unlike any American Greek salad ... and a really delight. It is early June but the tomatoes and peppers were ripe and crisp and really fresh. My wife ordered the Marguerite pizza; I opted for the Gorgonzola pizza (the effusive review on Yelp was compelling). Both were solid. We appreciate the thin crust and the crisp edged. The center of both, however, was doughy and somewhat undercooked. Looking around ... the restaurant was over 50% full even at this early hour. Most were Americans. We saw a good number of diners with pasta dishes ... and none were left unfinished. Sadly, we don't have any comparisons to weigh (yet). So, I cannot affirm any "best of" citations, it this is certainly a solid trattoria/pizzeria. The staff are attentive and the food served hot and fresh.
