Crunchy eggs with slime on top. Gross.
    Hillary J.

To the cook (definitely not a chef) fried eggs should be prepared on low heat to allow firm whites with a soft yolk. Perhaps, partly my fault because the woman who took my order appeared irritated by having to take my order. I had read the outside menu, and knew what I wanted, so I don't know what her problem was. I didn't have a chance to ask for scrambled before she was gone. The ham was put on the plate cold, and the crunchy eggs were put on top to make it slightly warm. Yes, the egg was crunchy on the bottom, but the whites on top were slimy and undercooked. I'm surprised they haven't gotten someone sick! When I went inside to pay (after eating the bread and drinking the orange juice) the young man seemed nice, then the woman took over and asked me for cash. I leave Paris tomorrow and have spent my Euros. Of course, she didn't like that answer either. Maybe she hates tourists and prejudged me, but whatever. I've traveled extensively and this was just rude.

    French onion soup

Walking around Montparnasse area on a cold Paris night and I was craving some good old French onion soup and this place delivered. Soup was flavorful and hit the spot. Restaurant was semi-busy with only one waitress on the floor and she was very nice and efficient. I also ordered escargot because WHY NOT??? (I'm always scared to have a "pretty woman" moment when trying to eat those slippery little suckers) ;) I've had better in other restaurants in Paris, but they were good. I will go back and try other menu items next time I'm in the area.

    Basic breakfast with cappuccino extra.

I was staying at a nearby hotel and enjoyed 2 meals at this restaurant. Breakfast and a quick but very late lunch. I need protein at breakfast, so the wonderful petit dejeuner is not within my diet. The pricing is confusing but fair. There is a base breakfast (coffee, croissant, bread, butter, and jam) protein is extra. I had an omelet and a cappucino that were both small extras and were very delicious. The late lunch was a fresh slice of quiche. Very large, with a side salad of fresh greens and freshly made dressing. Service was excellent and I felt welcome.

Breakfast for €8! Includes many many items!

Just finished a long bike ride to the Eiffel Tower and worked up an appetite. Decided to go straight to the main course. They are known for Au Gratins. My son is not a cheese fan so he opted for the norvigene (smoked salmon in dill lemon and EVOO. I decided to stick with the house specialty; Landais Au Gratin (cream potatoes, duck breast and emmental cheese). The 2 German girls beside me ordered a cider with both their meals so I followed their lead. When in Paris...... Considering the temperature, I almost second-guess myself and ordered something other than their house specialty of au gratin potatoes. In the end, I was very glad I overruled that thought. Brody enjoyed his meal. He just appeared to still be hungry when it was done and a 16 year-old boy that normally has a high caloric intake, I can understand why he wanted a second meal after eating his first! The restaurant in the patio were quite crowded even though we had reservations. They still sat us within five minutes of arrival. Not that five minutes is a long time to wait, but it was still worth the wait as good as the food tasted. We both enjoyed our meals.
