Le Meridien served its purpose but I was sadly disappointed. The hotel's location is fantastic. We had a good experience with the front desk and the staff in general. However the amenities in the rooms felt short of our expectations. I feel that for the price they should offer something better. The rooms are small, which didn't bother us too much as we spend little time in them. However there are items that leave much to be desired. -Closet space is minimal and the rooms don't have a luggage stand. - The ironing board is small and dirty - The wooden hangers are chipped with pieces of paint falling off - The hair dryer has not been cleaned probably since first installed the filters are completely clogged. Which also consumes a lot more energy. - The bathroom pocket door in our room would just slide on its own and slam shut. - The outlet on top of the sink is dangerously loose - There's nowhere to place the towels within easy reach o once you're in the shower. Great vibe -- the lobby smells terrific. I have a fabulous king room on a high floor, and the bed promises to be heavenly. Here are my only questions: how much do I have to pay to have real coffee creamer for my in-room coffee maker (packaged powdered creamer--yuck!), and where are the USB outlets for charging my phone? I've been able to find a single USB charger on the clock radio that operates at one amp. Perhaps this is a hotel for old folks. Forgive the snark--but am I right?! COMPLETE PIG IN A DRESS. WTF??? Where do I start? I guess the poor communication. Typically when a hotel is under construction (and looks like a shanty) they have a notification or send word when it's under construction. Nope! Not this one. Looks like a condemned building pretending to be a wanna-be luxury hotel. Hotel looks NOTHING like the images online from exterior to interior. Maybe the bathrooms... other than that, it's dirty af and unkept. Which leads me to my next issue! The air filter in the room seems to have NEVER have been changed. Absolutely unacceptable and DISGUSTING!!!! Same for the vent above the shower head (wait why is there a vent above the shower head?). Oh for air flow? Maybe if it hadn't been filled with thick matted dust, coating the vent to the point where you can pull out muck. AGIAN, W. T. F. I am so disgusted by this hotel to the point that we are calling Marriot Bonvoy to request a no penalty cancellation based on how gross and literally 1 star this hotel is. A Motel 6 or even a busy hostel would've been better than this. When I went to relay this information the hotel staff pretended to care, but not enough to do anything? They replaced the filter and pretended to clean up but there's still much in both locations. It's just an UNCLEAN, DISGUSTING HOTEL unless you have your bar set so low you have little to no respect for yourself. We had zero bathroom amenities (body wash, shampoo, conditioner etc) not refilled so they were empty on arrival and they refill the bottles with anything BUT Malen+Goetz because I know they're product and what's in the bottles at this hotel isn't that. They only provide a usb charging setup for one side. There's no vent in the bathroom - so no wonder people have posted images of black mold growing on the walls. Even if you keep the doors open the entire bathroom is covered in steam sweat and takes time to disparate. *Update: Day 2 and no refill on bathroom amenities even with a request. It just has not been checked - REALLY POOR MAID SERVICE!!!!!!! The refrigerator doesn't keep anything cold - it's broken. They offer the CHEAPEST towels (you know, the kind from the $1 store clearance section?) that absorb ZERO moisture... yeah. It always makes me laugh when a hotel pretends to be above mid but offers you 1 ply toilet paper to wipe your ass with. Oh? I forgot to mention on day 1 how myself and 5 other people got stuck in the elevator as it stalled, began to shake, move up and down, and then took use to a creepy basement where a guy offered us a tour vs being concerned as to why we were all freaking tf out. Lamps didn't work. There are tears and burns on the carpet. AC and refrigerator barely get cold (pretty sure that was fun during the heatwave). We've communicated ALL of this to the hotel. All they had to say was "sorry" with little interest in resolving the issues they have here. Next stop Google, next stop Marriot Bonvoy to complain deeper and see if we can stay somewhere a bit more up to code? Standard? I don't know? This hotel doesn't represent as sup-par but it definitely hits below the mark of a Meridian property. They're still promoting "views of central park" online in images??? There are none. The view is now a taller building that blocks central park completely, I can also confirm that if you think the door will auto close in 2024 at this place, you're WRONG! We left to go to a show, but had to go back and noticed although we BOTH thought the door fully closed it was still open and our belongings could've easily been stolen. Definitely a security issue. DON'T STAY HERE. Literally the worst hotel I've ever given money to in my entire 30+ years of traveling. Better off ANYWHERE else if you like being treated as a consumer paying for QUALITY. We absolutely loved our stay at Le Meridien. We were hesitant because some reviews said it wasn't updated but we had a really nice room that was fully new. The Rooms We booked a standard room with a King bed. Very cozy beds and super cozy pillows. They had a nice updated shower and bathroom. We had a nice mini fridge and espresso machine in our room to boot! It was also very quiet on our floor even though we saw plenty of people coming in. Not a single negative from our perspective. Service By far the best part of our stay was the very friendly service. From the moment we got out of our cab, we had help with getting our bags in. The check in was the fastest we'd experienced and they were kind enough to let us check in a bit early! Hey - never hurts to ask! We also checked out a bit late and had help storing our bags and getting a cab on our way out. Their team even helped bring our bags to the other side of the street so we could get a cab. We really appreciated that everyone we met with went above and beyond to help us! Location Great location! It's 2 blocks from Central Park and feels safe walking around at any hour. It's right next to the 57th Street metro stop (one block). Lots to do in the area and it's easy to get to other parts of the city from here. Final Verdict We loved our stay at Le Meridien on 57th St and I'll definitely be choosing to stay here for future NYC trips. read more

Con - First reservation changed due to a leak in my suite They gave me connecting rooms The phone did not work in our bedroom and we were told that it would not be fixable during our stay- Made requesting our car a chore! Impeccable location a block from all the luxurious shopping 5th Avenue offers, and also within close proximity to many of the NYC hospitals, which was very convenient for our business visit. Decor is nice; some construction going in but it did not impact us with the exception of the rooftop restaurant / bar being closed due to renovations. We did enjoy several meals and cocktail hours at the temporary location at the spot right off of the lobby. The bartender is a true gem and always went above and beyond with his recommendations and service. Continental breakfast was satisfactory with the Yogurt Parfait, Chocolate Croissant and Coffee option I tried daily. As a Marriott Platinum, I was upgraded to a Junior Suite a day before arrival. One of the best things about this property is their level of responsiveness via the chat function of the Marriott app. You never have to go down or pick up your phone when you need something; just text. The Junior Suite was well appointed and spacious for NYC standards. Bathroom finishes were classy and gorgeous with copper on high quality marble tile. Right next door is a high-end market with tons of great grab and go offerings. A block away is Rue 57, a great place for a bite and cocktails. The hotel it's self is very quaint and cute. It's similar to all boutique hotel models that have come up in the last decades in New York City The room was cute I enjoyed the Lily coffee that was complementary. My issue was that we were not notified when making our reservations that the rooms would not be cleaned on a daily basis due to Covid. We found out about this when we came back from a day of sightseeing to the room. Personally I have no objection to that rule however that must be stated upon making reservations either on the Internet or verbally. Loved this hotel! In spite of how small it is - the staff, the food, the maid service, the location and the price all make up for it! I went to the roof top bar/lounge twice because of the view and the chicken sliders! Also the restaurant on the ground floor was excellent! My husband surprised me with a night here last week. Stayed in room 2207. They were having a sale on their suites. We experienced a contactless check-in into our room. The suites are a great size. Very spacious with a warm modern decor. The room was thoughtfully renovated keeping an illustrious vintage feel. The bathroom was truly luxurious showcasing marble floors and tiles, stand in shower with its on view of the city. The bedroom featured a floor to sealing windows and the coziest King size bed. The rooftop views of Central Park and beyond amazing. You really get that "I'm staying in NYC" feeling here. The walking proximity to the park itself as well as other many great New York staples like Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center, Lincoln Center makes place an excellent choice. I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the unsatisfactory experience my family and I encountered during our recent stay at this property. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find the front desk unattended, and the initial interaction with the associate left much to be desired. Furthermore, our excitement for a reasonably priced hotel near Central Park quickly turned into dismay as we discovered mold in our shower. Despite our multiple attempts to address the issue through various channels, including contacting the front desk and Marriott chat, we only received a room change option from a seemingly indifferent manager. To our dismay, the new room also had mold, and this pattern continued in subsequent rooms. The hotel staff acknowledged the mold issue but was unable to provide a mold-free alternative. Consequently, my wife, 2-year-old daughter, and I had to endure the inconvenience of relocating multiple times, with health concerns arising due to the evident mold. This experience has significantly impacted our trip, turning it into a last-minute scramble to find an alternative Marriott location. I strongly advise others to reconsider booking at this property to avoid similar health and comfort issues. **The pictures attached are from three different showers.. Fantastic hotel and we would absolutely stay again! This past trip was our first time staying here. I'd booked online through Marriott and specifically booked one of newly renovated rooms as I'd read some negative reviews of the older ones. While they weren't able to offer us a room with a view, we did have a high floor and things were perfectly quiet, which was nice. Our bed was firm and lower to the ground. The heat and AC worked well. I loved the tile bathroom. We had all the amenities we needed including a safe and refrigerator. Ans of course everything was clean and very nice. This is a hotel where you have to scan your room card in the elevator to select your floor. So you need to remember this even if you're just running up to the roof to grab breakfast to bring back to the room. Although I would recommend eating breakfast up at the rooftop restaurant where it it served as the view is particularly beautiful in the morning. And otherwise food isn't available up there until they open again at 4p. I will point out that by 9p or later, this area turns into a club with very loud music and young people dancing. The older generation, myself included, might not have anticipated that when dropping by for a snack before bed. We tried their fries and they were fine. I'm not a fan of thick cut fries, so I probably wouldn't get them again. However, they were deliciously seasoned and came with a really nice garlic mayonnaise. The doorman here was always on top of his job and greeted us with a smile. And at check out when we opted to keep our luggage at the hotel while we continued to explore, the gentleman who helped us was particularly professional and kind. We will return! This hotel was surprisingly well-priced for being so nice. It's located right at the south end of Central Park and had many cafes and restaurants around. The lobby was swanky, the front desk staff was professional, and our rooms were dark and moody. The bed wasn't super lush but it did the job and we enjoyed our stay. My only hang-up was that the bathroom was SO dark that I had to use my flashlight on my phone to try to put on sunscreen and a little make-up in the morning. I barely wear any, but I truly couldn't tell if everything was rubbed in because of how dark the lighting was. The bathroom in general was nice though and came stocked with great products. I'd be open to staying here again, but would recommend bringing a ring light or your own lit mirror if you plan on getting ready in the morning in any capacity (especially if you're here for work or something important). read more

Water completely warm and the claim of they ran out of ice. Eggs warm at best and potatoes cold! Couldn't get salt and pepper. Table not cleaned. Silverware dirty. Great location, a few blocks to the Central Park, between East and West side, a block up the iconic 5th Avenue shopping heaven of Van Cleef Arpels, Tiffany's, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and much much more... Next to Morton Williams supermarket and many many great restaurants within walking distance. The cute lobby, small but super boutique-like, modern, and artistic... Tiny check in area but good folks work here. Raphial the doorman he was super nice abs helpful. So am and Felitta were both gracious at the reception check in/out. We feel very welcome here. Not much of a view here because of the surround tall buildings. However we get a small glimpse of the Central Park from our 21st floor 1 bedroom suite. The suite was comfortably, even they were newly remodeled... The dark wood and brass made the room looks small, antique-like and dark. The bathroom was the best, marble everywhere, good water pressure too! The bed was comfy as well. During the pandemic, even in February 2021, no restaurant/bar is open in the hotel, so no perks for breakfast or snack. If you like boutique hotel, this one is solid for NYC. But if you love space, corporate-like setting, this isn't for you!! read more

Instead of booking a cabin somewhere for our anniversary weekend, we opted to book a night at The Meridien and splurge on glorious fine dining. The price for an European King was pretty fair for NYC and honestly, the room was very big for NYC. I've stayed in much smaller rooms that cost a lot more all over NYC - FiDi, Midtown West and East, Nomad, etc. The rooms were clean and very well lit. The bathrooms were gorgeous and felt very European - which only made me miss traveling even more! The room came with all the toiletries that you need - including a shower cap! There are signs everywhere encouraging mask wearing and social distancing. The elevators have plaques asking people to only have 2 in an elevator - unless you are in the same party. We felt very safe staying here during COVID. Bear in mind that there is no room service and the gym is open for 5 or less people at a time. The coffee machine was in the room, but there was no coffee or cups available. We requested a later check out time and it was given to us, which was really helpful as we would've had to kill 2 hours otherwise. read more

I travel frequently and stay almost exclusively at Marriott properties (Platinum member, 50+nights/year). This property did not live up to its Premium brand expectation. We were in a suite, room 2704. -Furniture very worn down. -Only USB outlets on one side of the bed, not the other. Power outlet being the built in nightstand impossible to get to. -Useless power outlets in random places of the room. -TVs did not work. -Bedroom window had huge cracks and a hole (fortunately on the outer pane). -Bathroom sinks did not have stoppers - I was so afraid of dropping an earring or ring down the drain. -Commode had a vent that made a loud wind-tunnel sound CONSTANTLY. We had to close both bathroom doors when sleeping but still barely muffled the sound. -Hotel room door did not close all the way - had to make sure to push/pull it closed evert time. Big safety issue. -This is a little thing -- but why is the closet in the "living room" area and not the bedroom? -As of January 2023 there is construction happening outside the hotel. During the day there was constant loud noise. Not ideal if you need to take calls business calls from your room or want to sleep in in the morning. What was nice about the hotel: -Staff were all kind and attentive to requests. Even apologetic when things weren't able to be resolved -- like stoppers for the sinks. -The rooftop bar was a great vibe, great drinks. -Location is great and is certainly less expensive than some of the nicer hotels in the immediate area. -Room was clean. -Bed was comfortable. This hotel advertises as pet friendly. This not true. This is not a hotel to bring pets or young children. The staff is rude insulting and un helpful. We were called every time we left for dinner bc of our dog barking crying etc. This was at 5:00in the afternoon. My husband actually missed our sons graduation dinner. We were threatened with being evicted from the property because we complained about the complainant. To make matters worse we had to wit an hour and a half for the valet to bring our car. Beware: Staff stole credit card information in my room after coming into room with privacy placard - unauthorized We are so disappointed. staff walked into our room without our permission. We had privacy sign up. We knew because they turned AC on 60. I had my credit cards in my purse. The next day I received fraud alerts from all my credit cards that were in my purse on unauthorized purchases. If you need to get a copy of a previous invoice-good luck. I've been trying to get in touch for over a week now. The accounting person has never answered the phone and their voicemail box is full so you can't leave a message. The email address they say to use to get the invoice is not a correct email address and it bounces back. It's basically impossible to get in touch with a human being. I finally did earlier today and they told me they would be sending the invoice right away-it never came. I called back and they said they would send it, and now it is 6 hours later with nothing. I've called 10 times today. Very frustrating!!!!!!!!!! I will not be booking this hotel for future business trips. read more

My husband and I stayed here for a wedding so we got a discounted rate! YES!... The area in which the hotel is located in is really nice, fairly close to many things, i.e.: Central Park, The Plaza Hotel and right next door (opened 24 hrs.) a Duane Reade; a convenience store and about 30 minute walking distance to Times Square. The staff was really friendly and very helpful with getting our clothes dry cleaned however, the place is slightly understaffed and a little on the slower side. We really enjoyed the restaurant attached to the hotel, the food was good (I ended up getting the burger). The rooms are on the smaller side, the bed however is VERY comfortable, the TV is large, the air conditioning works really well and the water pressure in the shower was good. The mirror in the bathroom however sits too high and being on the shorter side it's a bit difficult to use, thankfully there is a mirror in the hallway. Given the rooms are a little on the older side which does give the hotel a bit of character, the remodel downstairs doesn't really match the rest of the hotel just yet. I wouldn't mind staying there again (loved the roof top bar!). read more

I wouldn't say it is all bad, excellent location between Theater District and the southern edge of Central Park, pleasant service. The lobby is pretty tasteful, but small, the rooms are dated, and also too small for my taste. I would say the rooms can use some redecorating and such. Other Le Meridien hotels where I stayed were quite good, so I expect that they can make it better, with time. The size of the rooms though is not something they can change. After Sofitel and Novotel stays, this Le Meridien looks and feels "mew", a bit pedestrian. Would give it another try, if the rate is "right". read more

My husband and I had been looking forward to this night away for a few weeks; experience was lackluster at best. Firstly, hotel has no parking, had called ahead asking (3 calls) for help and was hung up on 3 times!! Then, I get here and wait close to 25 minutes to check in, there needs to be additional staff. Finally, get to my room and we have the smallest room I've ever seen that has a view of an office building 10 feet away. Normally, I wouldn't care, but we selected this room for the view and the proximity to the park. Finally, after complaining, I asked to switch rooms and the response was "no, even with titanium elite status this is the best room we have". I am beyond disappointed, for a 7 star Bonvoy property I'd rather stay at a courtyard Marriott. Highly disappointed read more

It's important to start off by saying that I stay over 200 nights a year at Marriott property's. In my 10+ years of being an ambassador, I have NEVER been treated so horribly. I was with my company's head or PR. I was trying to make a partial payment towards my room, as it was partial business and partial pleasure. My flight was at 5am next day and I didn't want to deal with it then. I asked the woman at the desk to assist me. She became irritated at me and asked the other woman to help her. They both begin yelling at me and getting very aggressive as they weren't able to do what I was asking. At one point they moved the chair away from their desk and told me to come around and do it for them, if I know everything. Then a 3rd woman came around. I now had 3 of them yelling at me in front of everyone in the lobby, and my head of PR. I was so shocked that 3 professional women were yelling at a costumer that way. I asked for the mgrs name and was told the hotel doesn't currently have one. Horrible and unacceptable. Will NEVER stay here again. And I don't recommend for anyone too. Hostile and horrible environment. They also don't offer room service. Too many better options in NYC with people that understand customer service. read more

While the vibe and rooms are certainly top notch, especially at this pricepoint and location in NYC, the pillows are lacking and the bed is intensely firm. I'd forgotten these negatives from my previous stay and voted confidently to stay here again last night. Had I remembered, I might have given pause to this hotel in favor of another with more substantial pillows (these are essentially air, they flatten with the slightest pressure). My back and neck now hurt. Still, I might have called for a different pillow had I gotten to the room at a reasonable hour. We just returned from 4 nights at Le Meridien and I must say it's the perfect hotel in mid-town! When we checked in there weren't any upgrades for my Marriott status so night one the room was very small. Then everything changed the next day when I met Joe Panarello - hospitality manager at the hotel and he was able to get us a great upgrade to a Junior Suite! It really made a huge difference in the quality of our stay. Joe is the perfect face for this hotel, a true hospitality expert! We also enjoyed a few nice meals and cocktails in the lobby restaurant and my husband enjoyed the workout room as well. This hotel is all you need in NYC! We'll be back for sure. read more

Hotel was great! Our room was very quiet. Only 10 rooms I think on each floor making it very cozy and quit. Bed was soft, room was clean. Location was great, easy morning run to Central Park. Close to subway stations. read more
