Enjoyed four nights here on a theater trip. It's a little bit removed from the midtown Broadway area, but there are a couple of subway lines nearby that will take you to Bryant Park or Times Square and it's a reasonable walk to the more northerly houses (Winter Garden, Gershwin, Broadway, O'Neill, etc.). Four four nights, I wanted a little more space, and a suite here cost about the same as a regular cramped room right in the theater district, so we went for it. The space really is nice, with the separate sitting room (very good size) and a bathroom much larger than the majority of NY hotels. The bed was comfortable and the closet had plenty of space for a multi-day stay, plus a coat closet right in the entryway. I guess it depends on which level of suite you get, but I was expecting a little more in the way of kitchen area. The mini-fridge was regular size and had just a small corner for your own stuff since it was pre-stocked. The decor may not be everyone's cup of tea with the heavy woods and ornate frames, etc. It goes for classic, but is starting to feel maybe a little dated rather than vintage. If you need sleek, modern accommodations, this is probably not for you. Lastly, the balconies fall under the category of not as great as they sound. I'm sure if you had a very high floor room, they would be better, but I was on the 10th floor and could see nothing but the ugly green wall across an alley. There was also no furniture on the balcony, so you would have to drag something from the room out there. The hotel does have additional pluses in terms of good Italian and steak restaurants onsite, both of which have very reasonable prix fixe lunch options. The aquarium in the lobby is a nice touch. The door is always staffed with friendly folks, and the housekeeping was solid throughout the stay.

My family and I just spent two nights here and had a great experience. I booked this back in May specifically because it is one of the only hotels in all of NYC who has a pull out bed from a couch and as a family of 4 with two kids who are too old to share a bed, this worked out great. This was also appealing because it did not break the bank for us either. Location in midtown was perfect. Guest services, checking in/out, and concierge were all wonderful. Our only complaint is that no kids were allowed on the rooftop terrace after 5pm. I understand for younger kids but mine are older and well-behaved. It would have been nice to sit up there with them to have a drink or apps as a family. Brunch times also messed us up (12-4pm) because we had a Broadway show to see. 11am would be a nice change for others. Overall a great experience. Walkable to nearly all everything worth seeing in NCY.

We come to NYC often, usually we like to stay at boutique hotels and we always end up satisfied. The last time we stayed in the Langham hotel for about $700 a night and it was outstanding, great hotel, amazing resturant, wonderful service, very clean and remodeled. The Kimberly hotel which costs about the same is the completely opposite. Though the room is spacious the decor feels like it hadn't been updated for 200 years, the carpet is dirty and smelly, no electrical outlet to charge your phone next to the bed, room service sucks, the two resturant both the Italian and the steak house were not very good either. Overall bad experience, we definitely will not be back here. The shower (inside a tub) didn't drain properly. Within two minutes, water rose around your feet, forcing you to stop sooner than you wanted. The sink drain was broken. The carpet smelled terrible. The mattress was worn out and uncomfortable. To top it off, I found it completely ironic that they have a sign in the lobby claiming that The Kimberly Hotel was "verified by Ford as one of the finest properties in the world 2025." Honestly, I would have believed it if it said 1925 instead... Never again.

My family and I stayed in this hotel in April and I am now obsessed with it. The people who work here are truly experts of customer service. Everyone from bell services to the front desk to the people at the restaurant were kind, helpful, and most of all treated my little six year old daughter like a queen and made her first trip to NYC the most memorable time. I honestly cannot thank them enough for everything they did during our stay. I will absolutely be back. If you love old world/vintage New York charm, this place is perfect. The views from the rooftop restaurant at breakfast are STUNNING. And my daughter spent so much time gazing into their gorgeous 360 fish tank. Truly, this place is a gem.

What a beautiful hotel. We had a lovely 6-day stay in midtown Manhattan. We showed up a day late due to airline travel issues but made a simple call to make sure they held our room. The front desk staff, bellman, and other staff were incredibly kind and helpful. From Harry hailing us a cab daily to the maid service... all were top-notch. Our room was very spacious and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the Penthouse bar as well. Excellent service. It made for a great anniversary trip. We will definitely make The Kimberly our "go-to" place to stay while visiting the city.

    The beautiful lobby!

Traveling during the holidays can be hectic, but the staff at the Park Hyatt made everything feel effortless. Every interaction -- from the front desk to housekeeping to the concierge -- was filled with genuine kindness, patience, and warmth. It was clear they weren't just doing their jobs; they truly cared about making our holiday special. The hotel itself is stunningly elegant yet incredibly comfortable. After long walks through Central Park, returning to our room felt like stepping into a peaceful retreat. The spaciousness, thoughtful details, and quiet luxury made it easy for our family to relax, laugh, and simply be together -- which is what the holidays are really about. We had our first breakfast in New York at the hotel's "the living room" which is located in the lobby. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with modern decor and stunning 30 foot ceilings. We arrived at 7am as the restaurant just opened and Kamil greeted us with a warm genuine smile. We've stayed at 5 different Park Hyatts in the past 5 years (Kyoto being the most recent) and no one has made us feel as special as Kamil. He has the unique gift of hospitality. He went out of his way to treat us like family and made us feel very special. All of his small gestures, friendly smiles, and thoughtful attention to detail, turned simple moments into special memories. During a season meant for connection and joy, the Park Hyatt delivered both in abundance. Spending Christmas in New York is always special, but spending it at the Park Hyatt New York elevated the experience beyond anything we could have imagined. Our days were spent with full hearts, lasting memories, and deep gratitude for a team that understands true hospitality. This is a place we will return to -- not just for the luxury, but for the people who made us feel so genuinely at home during the most meaningful time of year.

Bonus-it was clean!! The iPad system to control the room is clever: manage the thermostat, tv, blinds/shades and lights. It takes a minute for the iPad to connect (not sure if it's a wifi issue or that these iPads are an older model). Speaking of the thermostat, it kinda worked. I think it shuts off or scales back when there's no movement in the room. I had a hard time getting it cooled down to a good temperature, so I didn't sleep as well as I would have liked. The bed is very comfortable, though...and even with the small space, there are plenty of places to hang clothes and store items. Several outlets and USB charging stations available as well. There aren't any washcloths - just hand/body towels... and it's up to you if you want to have your room lightly cleaned or fully turned over. (See your iPad to make that option). There was only one elevator working, so it could take a few minutes to get your lift up or down. The staff that we engaged with were great. Check in and out were super easy. The lobby is pretty cool and hip. There's a small rooftop bar/lounge and a nice sized food/canteen area in the lobby. The location is outstanding. 50th just off 8th Ave...right in the heart of Times Square and walking distance to many other destinations. I would stay here in the future...2-3 nights is perfect. Just make sure if you're traveling with a companion (and sharing a room) that you REALLY like them.

I stayed at this hotel over the New Years holiday and was thrilled to be so close to Madison Square Garden and Times Square. As was expected, check in was a bit chaotic given the time of year. The ground floor entrance was PACKED with luggage on first arrival. After weaving our way through, we located the check-in desk on the 5th or 6th floor. Tons of people but adequate seating to wait for our room to be ready. An upper floor meant having to figure out their dreaded elevator system. It left something to be desired, to say the least. With only 3 elevators that service the whole of the hotel, and a 4th that goes who knows where, it was almost always a lengthy struggle to catch one. No buttons on the interior of the carriage, all elevators were called with a touchscreen device that seemingly tried to pack as many people as possible into one small space, leaving many behind that couldn't fit, before directing the passengers to another elevator to repeat the whole process over again. One day was so bad, it was actually preferable to walk up the stairs to the 14th floor. Woof. The room itself was wonderful. Spacious, with 2 beds. Very clean. Beautiful view of the city and the arena next door. Great way to catch the sun set. Walk in shower with both an overhead and handheld shower attachment. Great lighting. Shower had heavily frosted glass that faced the bedroom area so be prepared for your silhouette to be on full display for anyone you may be rooming with. Nice sized closet, safe, and mini fridge. Big flat screen television. Window shade worked very well to block out the light if you're hoping to sleep in late. Walls can be a bit thin, especially if you have a rowdy bunch of kids right next door as we did. Aside from the elevators, the perks far outweighed the usual peskier elements (e.g., noise, etc.) one encounters when staying away from home. Would stay here again, perhaps during a less busy time of year, if that's even possible.
