Don't shop here unless you want to ask the price of 100 items before making a decision on what to buy. Nothing is labeled.

The shop has another location in Hudson, NY. [Parking]: Metered parking in Atwater Village, but luckily I found a metered parking spot across from the shop at 5 PM on Saturday. [Selection]: Very organized shop as pens are ordered by rainbow color. The shop sells a decent selection of Valentine's Day cards. The staff was friendly and even asked customers on what they were looking for. In addition to greeting cards and stationery, they also have candles, tote bags, etc. The shop also offers gift wrapping service and apparently they even sell red rose bouquets during Valentine week. [Gift wrapping service]: The service is only available at brick & mortar locations. Materials are purchased separately and holiday rush fees may be applied. The shop offers complimentary gift wrap on all in-store purchases (customer's choice of kraft box or kraft wrap with twine). During the busy holiday season, the staff may asks customers to drop off gifts and pick up at a later determined time. * Small (e.g. Small Book, Journal, Pen Box, Candle) = $8 * Medium (e.g. Shoe Box, iPad, Shirt Box) = $10 * Large (e.g. Oversized Books, Laptop, Coat) = $12 * Extra Large (oversized) (e.g. Oversized Kids Toys, Bedding Sets, Large Framed Art, TV) = $20+ [Conclusion]: The shop has a more diverse selection and is not limited to just Japanese style cute stationery. This is really a one-stop shop for anyone looking for a last minute gift.

I got some chocolate bars based on my friend's personalities and a candle in a scent named after a vacation place one of them wanted to travel to. They'll gift wrap for free with kraft paper and you even have the option to choose premium wrapping for a small additional fee. As someone that is awful at wrapping gifts, this perk was amazing for the price and I always opt-in if it's available. All my interactions from entering, to checking out, to picking up were phenomenal!! The shop attendants greeted me and my husband warmly upon entering and their hospitality also trickled into their text messages when they were keeping me up-to-date on my wrapping order. Do note that when they are backed up with gift wrapping, they might have you come back at a later time if there's a queue! This is an excellent problem because there are so many shops to duck in and out of nearby. I ended up running other errands outside of the area and coming back before closing on my way to my friends' parties. Getting a greeting card, several presents, a little 'treat yourself' gift to me, and gift wrapping all in one stop? Perfection.

Currently Shorthand has 3 locations - Highland Park, Larchmont Village, and San Anselmo. This Highland Park location is the flagship location. [Parking]: There are plenty of metered parking spots and paid public parking lots, but parking can be hard to come by during busy shopping seasons. [Selection]: The shop offers greeting cards, pens, notebooks, pen, pencils, gift wraps, etc. I like the greeting card selection a lot better at Shorthand, but I didn't see too many Valentine's Day cards. The shop was a lot more colorful than Crush & Touch as Shorthand organized pens and pencils by color. They also sell really neat hand drawn Highland Park and Eagle Rock maps. The shop also sells various colors of ribbon per yard and gift wrap. Each color of ribbon has a slightly different price. I actually got a red tight weave ribbon for $1.75 per yard and the staff even gave me a slightly extra length. [Gift Wrap Service]: Customers can purchase gifts in store or bring them in from elsewhere. In general, regular (one sheet) = $8, large (two sheets) = $14, and extra large (three sheets+) = $20+. [Conclusion]: A really cute stationery shop with all the supplies for gift wrapping.

Erin was incredibly easy to work with and super accommodating. The shop has a great open space in the back, which was perfect for the party. Erin assembled a beautiful selection of succulents, colored sand, shells, moss, and other unique accents, and led the girls through a fun and easy-to-follow tutorial on how to build their own terrariums. The vibe was very cool and creative. The girls had the best time making their gorgeous little creations, while the parents enjoyed browsing the shop's thoughtfully curated selection of goods. Erin and Sien were both wonderfully engaging and added so much to the experience. After the workshop, the girls walked over to Ice Cream Luv just a few doors down to wrap up the celebration with a sweet treat. It was the perfect afternoon at a perfect location for a memorable birthday party. This venue would also be ideal for Girl Scouts or other group gatherings--fun, educational, hands-on, well-priced, and in a warm, welcoming space. Thank you, Acorn Eagle Rock!

Today marked the grand opening (9/29/24) of Flowers Finest, a women-owned neighborhood boutique in Eagle Rock. Not only is it a shop offering a wide range of unique gifts, but it's also a gathering space with a warm community vibe, featuring occasional pop-up events. The spotlight is on Flowerhead Tea/Chai products, known for their small-batch, high-quality offerings. Flowerhead Tea started as a boutique company, blending organic ingredients sourced from farms in California, New Mexico, and Berkeley. Their hands-on approach was no joke--they literally used mason jars and buckets for their blends, which were packed by hand in their Oakland warehouse. As demand grew, so did they, expanding their production to a specialty tea manufacturer. Today's opening event was a perfect showcase of local creativity, featuring: *Fluffy McClouds: Ice cream with an inventive twist *Cecil B. Moxie: Expert chainstitching *Capri Club: Delicious punch *Almond Milkmaiden: Decadent treats *Open Beer: Beeby, a refreshing beer *Flowerhead Tea: A delightful selection of teas and chai I can't wait to return for future events and gatherings. A huge congratulations to Flowers Finest on their successful opening! Pro Tip: *There's plenty of free parking in the residential area behind the shop.
