I started taking my little Maltipoo to Gayle at LePaw​almost 10 years ago! She has always done an excellent job and never made one mistake in grooming. She has had difficulty keeping a business location because of all of the apartments being built in the Clearfield area but in spite of that she has kept her business going at various locations close by! Right now she has a mobile grooming trailer and the Roy area and it makes it so that she is available soon to move around. The quality of her work and the especially the products that she uses are fantastic! I have been to other groomers that I think actually use dishsoap or something that is harsh. She is a very loving caring person with all of the animals. And especially, she doesn't take forever to get the dogs done! I can get my Maltipoo in and out in about an hour and a half and she looks gorgeous! And she has walk-in appointments! That is very convenient for me! I highly recommend you give her a chance. Not a groomer for puppies! Not for difficult dogs (unless you want to pay) Entrance/Venue is not inviting, "sketchy" Had to call them back to find out why my dog's paw was bleeding. multiple reviews say they cut nails WAY too short We recently moved to the Clearfield area and my two shih tzu puppies (Sofie 1 year, Chopper 6 months) needed trimming. They also got into some burrs earlier this morning and wouldn't let me get them out. I searched "groomers near me" and I remember passing Le Paw on drives before. I called and the kind lady said walk-ins were welcome from 8am to about 11am. I left right away and dropped my dogs off just after 8. I was surprised by the exterior. The sign is good, but the house has peeling paint, pink paint, and a strong musty smell. There's not a lot of parking (but I don't believe they have more than 1-2 customers at a time. The fountain out front is nice, but seemed odd, out of place. Inside was cramped and dark--if the walls were a solid, lighter color with a few framed pics of pups they've groomed or a board with prices listed--that would be great. But the magazine clippings taped to the wallpaper was not very professional or welcoming. They did not have their prices listed anywhere that I could see. Craig called me after 3 hours, which was great for 2 pups. I went to pick them up and he said there was some training issues, not liking their legs trimmed, Chopper growled a little. The lady (the owner I believe) said to have Chopper practice standing on all four legs with his head held up on a leash to get used to grooming. I paid (about $45/each plus some because of the training issues, extra $11) and we left. At home, we got out of the car and I looked down to see my arm covered in blood. It was from Sofie's rear right paw. I had to call to find out it was them. They didn't apologize, Craig just said "oh, it looks like she (the owner lady) cut her nail to the quick. We put some blood stopper on it, must've come off." Their coats feel great and they look darling, but I won't be returning to Le Paw. Sofie is traumatized and she won't leave my lap (which is unusual). Chopper was shaking when I dropped them off, I should have noticed. I would definitely rather travel the extra 30 mins to our regular groomer in Salt Lake where I know they'll be taken care of and be honest with me. read more

This place doesn't have low ratings for free. I wanted to see for myself and maybe have them prove me wrong, but it was just all bad from the start. Do yourself a favor and take your fur baby elsewhere. They're unprofessional and according to them my dog tried to bite them when they were trying to get to his tail but I've never had that complaint before from any groomer. read more

Gayle and Craig are wonderful! We have been going here for years and they are always great. I honestly don't understand the bad reviews on here. Our dog is always so excited to go see the groomers at Le Paw. Don't forget to pick up some jungle ice when your there, it is amazing! Our dog and our cats go crazy for that stuff. read more

What can I say my 5 year old would do a better job. He had an awesome haircut with the typical Schnauser skirt and groomer if they are a master groomer would know how to groom this cut. See pictures they should not be allowed to groom. read more

I'm extremely disappointed in the service that we received today! We have gone to them for a few years now and they haven't been overly polite but they haven't been rude either we had a family emergency come up and we ended up forgetting our dog overnight, tried to contact them they called us the following morning with complete Cruelty! we tried calling them at 11 PM and again at 12 AM to come get our dog which they did not fail to mention kept them up all night so if our dog kept them up all night you think they would've been considered enough to answer the phone but we were just as worried about our dog as they are and because it is illegal to board the dog they are charging us a $75 fee but it is illegal to take that payment read more

Just picked up my poor dog from this horrible place. She has never had a worse groom/cut in her life. No joke, they seriously forgot to trim her nails on one foot. Just totally missed it. The cut is VERY uneven, longer chunks everywhere, and they didn't bathe her after her cut so she is covered in cut hair. And whatever product they used on her smells awful, sort of like your great Aunt Bertie's perfume that smells like potpourri mixed with rotten bananas and just a hint of formaldehyde. And to top it all off, they charged me an extra $5 because we asked them not to cut her tail. Seriously? Charge more for asking you to do less work? I can easily say we will NEVER be back to this filthy dump that smells like cigarettes and urine. Gag! read more

Le Paw is the best. My little yorkies love Gayle &Craig. They run right in when we get there. They are always groomed the way we want and they always look adorable when we pick them up. Horrible place!! Don't go there! It's a dingy house. They smoke in their house. They claimed my dog tried to bite and he doesn't! They didn't do what they said they were going to. So his teeth were not brushed and they didn't cut his toe nails. They messed up his cut!! I'm military wife so don't recommend anyone going here!! read more

That was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. The gentleman was cold and short and a bit irritated, and the woman told me over and over again that I was crazy and pretty much an ignorant dog owner who was stupid. Saying "shame on you" for not bringing a dog into a groomer from the time the dog was a few weeks old doesn't say to a customer "glad you're here, how we can we help you?" I would never take any pet there if they were the only groomers in the state. It was an "unbelievably" terrible experience. The only recommendation I would give would be NOT GO!! read more

Terrible, terrible. My daughter took her dog in to be cut. Her dog came back without the right cut. They started out making excuses before she even saw what he looked like. And was claiming her dog was biting them. Not true! Her puppy is around a toddler and doesn't bite. They blamed her,saying she didn't get her dog use to the blow dryer. She did. Then saying she should have started him getting hair cuts sooner. He's 9 months. Then he had this awful smell. I think it was booty and old lady perfume mixed. His cut was uneven, and they didn't clean the cut hair off after. My car was covered in cut fur. They claim over 30 years experience, but can't groom a puppy properly? They did cut his nails. So that's a positive.The place is a converted home. It seemed nice enough from outside. I know I will never take my poodle there after seeing what they did to her puppy. Maybe they need to go for some extra grooming classes. Idk if they do that, But it's needed. This is all my opinions and observations. Some hopefully, have had a better experience. read more

We took our Golden Doodle here once and he came back looking incredible. It was better than any groom he'd ever had. When we took him again, we received complaints that he was too large and hard to do. So, we took our Havachon there and we were charged extra because he was apparently untrained. (He'd already had several haircuts). He didn't get any of his nails trimmed and his hair was way too short; and they didn't even trim his ears. We gave them one more shot after that and got the same results. They also said not to bring him in on Mondays anymore because they are so busy then. I should've listened to other reviews. The dog I was looking to get groomed is a mini schnauzer. I called before coming is and spoke to a friendly woman who is the groomer and was told to just come in for a walk in. When I arrive I am greeted by a man who seems stand offish. I explain that I would like a schnauzer cut, #10 on the back #7 on the ears and I like the beard round vs the standard square cut. The man does not write any of this down and only takes my dog's name and my phone number. I pick up my dog 2 hours later, pay for service and my dog is brought out. I have a schnauzer who now has no beard! I address this and am told my the man he can't put the hair back on and will not give a refund. I ask what can be done to fix it? The man then yells "I don't know what to tell ya lady!" He then walks away into the next room yelling and I take my receipt and leave. After getting home and upon further inspection I find not only it the beard got but his ears were scissor cut and uneven lines in parts of the cut. I am contacting the BBB. read more

Me and my mother took are dogs in to be groomed It took 4 hours and when we picked them up the dogs were not very well groomed a five year old could have done a better job we were stuck paying a little over $31.00 for each dog we had to go home and groom them ourselves we also noticed that both the dogs were acting scared and when they moved a certain way they yelped I will never return here not even if I was offered $$$$$ read more

Terrible!! I made an appointment for my morkie's first haircut and the lady who answered told me it would not be a problem he had never been groomed before. When I arrived for the appointment, the man at the counter told me they could not groom my dog because they do not groom puppies. I told him the lady on the phone said it wouldn't be a problem. He suggested I have them bathe my dog so he could get used to being touched. I agreed and came back 4 HOURS LATER when they were finished. When I picked my dog up, he had cuts all over his belly. I asked what it was and the man said it was "a rash". I assume they attempted to cut his hair and did a terrible job. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Trust you gut and do not bring your dog here. For a groomer that is claiming to be a "master pet groomer" I would expect someone who knows how to groom a puppy. read more
